Tyrik Rollison: We hardly knew ye
Hey everyone. Just a quick note to give you official word that Tyrik Rollison has been granted his release and will transfer.
We believe he's headed for Sam Houston State. We have not yet confirmed that.
What can be said about Rollison? Some will say he was a failed prospect and it's difficult to argue with that assessment. The depth chart at quarterback filled very quickly with the arrival of Cam Newton. Auburn is aggressively recruiting at least two major high-school prospects. Barrett Trotter and Clint Moseley have considerable upside.
There's little room for a true freshman who loses significant development time to suspension. Period. That's a terrible way to make a first impression.
My best guess: Tyrik learns from what happened at Auburn and keeps himself straight at his next stop, which will be closer to home ... and his support system.

1 comment. No comments.
Blogger still hates me.
There are two comments, but they won't appear until well after I type this.
BULL HONKEY
Maybe Cam will make AU fans forget about the Rollinson Express that ran out of gas before it got going.
The case of the disappearing comments continues.
Maybe they'll all just show up one day.
Looks like blogger is going crazy again.
What a bummer.
Unless these stick? Then that means I'm number one!
I love recounts.
Possibly the most impressive thing about this incoming class is how few if looks like we will lose prior to two-a-days. So far only Jeremy Richardson has headed the JUCO route.
Our classes from 2006 on have had horrible attrition rates and we have been lucky for two thirds of them to actually make it to practice. This year appears to be different and the coaching staff deserves a lot of kudos for that.
I seem to be in the blogspot zone. The front says there are 10 comments, but I only see my modest contributions here. I can't wait until Jay G brings the new HABOTN. There are too many puppet parts laying around in here anyways.
How....expected. What's up everyone?
Welcome to Seanzie and Steve's private blog.
Pretty well expected I wish him good luck and hope he does well.
Varez Ward's Facebook page includes this fine note under "books":
Books Are Overrated
There is an American Idol death match going on tonight. The only thing this show is missing is a gong.
Rollison Express has left the station.
Unfortunately for Eddie and Co, I think it's a one way trip.
the newton juggernaught has arrived at the station.
Rollison is a good example why not to get too excited about a recruit until he actually does something. Which was better, Rollison or Cotton? It looks like Cotton has the lead at the moment.
Dadburned Blogger. Front Page currently shows 20 Comments yet I'm only seeing 5.
Does anyone else have 21 post showing on the front page and 5 on this page?
we seem to be holding steady at 5 posts. blagger sux tonight.
thread shows 22 comments but only 5 are showing. Mine was deleted and it was first.
my previous comment reappeared then dissapeared. gremlins!
Hmmm, the post says there are 25 comments, but when I come to the comment page there are only 5?
Braves have piddled away a 4-0 lead. Reds have tied it up in top of 9th. Headed to the bottom. We may have free baseball.
Well. Now my comment complaining about Blogger seems to have disappeared. Stupid.
Good luck, Tyrik.
i'm watching the nba playoffs and keep seeing commercials for a new tbs family sitcom with ice cube in it. has anybody in entertainment managed to move from such one extreme (NWA) to the other (kids movies & sitcoms) in their career?
the same guy that raps the lyrics below now gets beat up by a squirell or some critter in one of his movies. that's like ron jeremy becoming a priest.
Straight outta Compton crazy mothergrabber named Ice Cube
From the gang called African-Americans With Attitudes
When I'm called off I got a sawed off
Squeeze the trigger and bodies are hauled off
You too boy if ya "mess" with me
The police are gonna hafta come and get me
Off yo arse that's how I'm goin out
For the punk mothergrabbers that's showin out
African-Americans start to mumble, they wanna rumble
Mix em and cook em in a pot like gumbo
Goin off on a mothergrabber like that
with a gat that's pointed at yo arse
So give it up smooth
Ain't no tellin when I'm down for a jack move
Here's a murder rap to keep yo dancin
with a crime record like Charles Manson
AK-47 is the tool
Don't make me act the mothergrabbin fool
Me you can go toe to toe, no maybe
I'm knockin african-americans out tha box, daily
yo weekly, monthly and yearly
until them dumb mothergrabbers see clearly
that I'm down with the capital C-P-T
Boy you can't "mess" with me
So when I'm in your neighborhood, you better duck
Coz Ice Cube is crazy as a duck
As I leave, believe I'm stompin
but when I come back, boy, I'm comin straight outta Compton
SOCCER
First!!
I wonder if anyone saw/responded to my earlier question. I still have the same 5 comments.
What the heck is going on with comments?
I'm thinking Blogger is being operated by Rose Mary Woods.
NBA?
Best wishes to Tyrik. May the Rollison train roll in Texas.
By the way, is there any more doubt about how great Kobe Bryant is?
I thoroughly enjoyed the Straight Outta Compton lyrics recap, chip^2. Wherever heard, I try to "throw them down" myself.
MC Ren's second verse is quite evocative as well - even in the edited version.
Speaking of Compton. The Lakers are winning. Crap.
The Lakers are blotting out the Suns.
120-107 with 1:29 in 4th.
Lakers moved through them like they weren't there in the 4th.
Final.
Lakers 124, Suns 112.
Lakers outscored the Suns 34-22 in the 4th.
2-0.
me and my buds used to lay it down as white as we could back at high school and college parties. it was always a hit.
stoudamire looked like a chump.
i'm stuck in a ruston, la hotel room is the only reason for the nba watching.
Tyrik, Good luck in Texas. Consider taking a copy of the Auburn Creed with you and referring to it often.
tyrik rollison's official AU stats:
games played: 0
attempts: 0
completions: 0
career completion %: 0
td: 0
int: 0
rush yards: 0
career qb rating: 0
suspensions: 1
they can only improve at SHST. good luck to him. like he said, AU just didn't work out for him.
chip dubs, from what my friends at LA Tech say, Ruston is a miserable place to be. I'm sorry.
Pizza gives me acid reflux.
I recommend Maalox. Giving up pizza is not an option.
Morning, Hotties!
chip, chip - Many years ago I traveled to some paper mills with Mr. Cincy and I believe we stayed in Ruston. My Dad called that area the armpit of the United States. I think my Dad was right. No offense to LA people :)
Buenas Dias caliente unos.
One of my buddies is a coach at La. Tech and I had thought about going down to see him for a game this fall.
I'm having second thoughts now.
I just like the word "mothergrabber" from the edited Straight Outta Compton.
So it appears that overnight the Blogger ship righted itself.
107 days and counting until we have football again. Keep Hate Alive!
Forget a football countdown...time to enjoy summer :)!!!!
107d11h10m
I had the wonderful opportunity to go through Ruston in the middle of summer once. As I recall it was about 95 degrees and around 137% humidity with no wind during the day. It would rain in the afternoon so it would get really miserable. Then the bugs would come out. But I seem to recall drive through daquiri places.
2.0 and I are heading to D.C. I have a bunch of meeting stuff and she is going to see the Wittelsbach-Graff diamond and a few other sites.
Y'all have fun today.
Hey, has anyone heard from FSJ lately?
What a great day, THT! I really enjoy getting to spend time with my kids! Have fun.
I'm looking forward to the summer.
Orlando next weekend. World Cup in June. Maybe Bonnaroo as well. Beach in July. Good times.
Not looking forward to being back in the humidity of the South, though. The beard might not last the summer.
Mine came off 2 weeks ago ebro. I imagine summer hits south AL a little quicker than mid TN.
Blogger was impossible last night.
MTD - he's been heavily engaged in a project out of state the last few weeks and apparently the project has a number of problems. He and I do the same type of work as Project Managers. I can't recall ever having a project with the issues and results he's claiming. I'm sure that little tidbit has NOTHING to do with where his allegiance lies.
Thanks Norm. Good to hear that its a work thing not a kid thing.
OK, I must confess, I've had projects which had problems and issues. But, they all stemmed from errors during the sales process which happens before I ever see anything. Not to suggest I'm perfect. I made a mistake a while back. I admitted it and chose not to make another mistake since I didn't care for the extra work that one caused me.
Mr.TD,
Your description sounds like Orlando with drive-thru liquor stores. All else being equal (which it sounds like it is), If I had a choice between crowded theme parks and drive-thru liquor stores, I'd take the latter.
Daiquiris are just better when served in a styrofoam cup with a straw!
I spoke with FSJ last night.
He's definitely alive.
Did he say to give all the Hotties a big War Eagle?
E-bro,
I want to go to Bonnaroo. Take me with you.
Bonnaroo supports the World Cup:
During the day you can join us to watch the World Cup games (yup, we'll be there at 6:30 am) and we'll broadcast Conan O'Brien's performance from the Comedy tent on Friday live on the screen. Look for a full schedule and details coming soon!
The sis-in-law will once again make it to Bonnaroo. I listen to the stories when she gets back. Can't afford to make the trip cash wise nor missing work wise.
Now once I hit the mega millions jackpot, things might change.
It's not a go yet, Peter. Friday would probably be the only day I'd be able to go, and I haven't seen the schedule for that day. It's also contingent on one my buddies actually hooking me up with a pass. We'll see.
It's cool that they're showing the World Cup games, though. That's one reason I'm reluctant to go if given the chance. It starts that Friday.
I wish I could go to Bonnaroo. The Weez will play there. I was planning to take The Daughter to see Weezer in southern Indiana ... but the casino won't admit anyone under 18.
So ... looking for a different plan of attack.
FSJ may have give you all a big WDE! I can't remember that exactly.
PF - please observe the Soccer related post protocol.
Slacker.
My bud offered me a Bonnaroo ticket if I want to go. I'm undecided.
It's a long drive, crowded and generally un-hygenic.
But John Prine, Kris Kristofferson, Hot Rize and all those great small-time acts that I've never heard are almost too good to pass up.
Suge Knight getting harrassed by the man again. He was arrested at 147th and Crenshaw last night at 1:30am. I'm sure he was just helping build a school or something.
If you have 3,000 "friends" on a social networking site, what is the point of having the highest privacy settings?
My buddy's cousin is one of the guys who started Bonnaroo. He once viewed a slideshow that I put some music to and complimented me on my musical selections.
Sensing an opportunity, I asked if he would want me to DJ at Bonnaroo some time.
He hasn't gotten back to me yet.
Viagra associated with hearing loss. My question is, "Who Cares?".
If I'm old and need Viagra, there's a chance my hearing is going anyway. The trade-off doesn't sound bad to me. Take the following story for instance:
I had an ear infection last week that caused me to lose almost all hearing in my left ear. I went to dinner with a couple of yentas and another guy. The yentas sat on the left side of the table, and I heard virtually none of their conversation. Dinner was actually way more peaceful that way.
Living in perpetual peace and being an old stud sounds like the perfect life.
Peter, the typical Viagra user is not old in the way you're thinking.
I say 40-55.
Old from your perspective, sure, but not mine.
40-55 isn't old at all. That's not that far away...I still think I can do with some minor hearing loss by then, snort.
As a soon to be 46 y/o dude, that's definitely not old from my perspective. I'll add that I have no need for such pharmaceuticals. None at all.
OH LAWD.
You RoF people (outside of Peter and Hoopie) better get back with me on your Class of 2010 nominations.
Sent yesterday.
Jay G, are you going to hit up the Rush show in Atlanta in a couple of months?
"That...is a ding dong."
-Sportscenter guy recapping the Twins @ Sox game from last night.
I love hearing that on ESPN! The ding dong rules!
jgt, check out the weez on yo gabba gabba. they played some song about bugs. my kids liked it.
EARLING MORNING...
BEASLEY!!!!!
and much love to my boy #89 from Kennesaw, Georgia!
i was pretty impressed with the setup of the hangout music fest in gulf shores last week. i had bought my saturday ticket specifically to see the flamin lips perform on the beach, however, one of their member got hosptialized two weeks before and they were replaced by the roots. if they can get some better acts next year, that thing has the potential to grow and be a cool festival.
I was at a club/bar in Orlando a couple of months ago and up on a projector they were playing an episode of Yo Gabba Gabba with Jack Black.
The mix of the setting and alchohol made it quite surreal. Freaked. Me. Out.
The Flaming Lips will be playing "Darkside of the Moon" at Bonnaroo. Should be interesting.
PF,
I've heard that stuff can make you go blind. Always thought that was an old wives tale :)
Bro - that show freaks me out stone cold sober in my own home. It's not allowed on my fine Sony tv. Thankfully, F4* is much more interested in other shows.
ebro...
I posted this a long time ago and maybe before your time(?). It's great.
Dancey Dance
As most know, I love going to concerts, but I just can't do Bonnaroo.
50,000 + people for 3 days with the majority of them without a shower. I just can't do it.
Since tasing has been a pretty hot topic, thought you guys would get a kick out of this story involving Marquis Daniels.
What is this Bonnaroo of which we speak? A place or state of mind.
Viagra is a great invention and widely used by young and old. I am not hard of hearing and I don't need viagra at my young age.
Age of course being relative.
Filter says no to the link, ehyou.
I'll have to check it out when I get home.
"50,000 + people for 3 days with the majority of them without a shower. I just can't do it."
RK...I think you just described the experience at every Bama home game in the fall, give or take a few thousand people.
that's hilarious Styles. thanks. if only Grand Marquis' stepfather had been a hottie. he may have been saved a tasing!
my bro-in-law is going to Bonaroo. mrs. scottie wants to go but doesn't want to spend the money. i can't see the wife doing that. it blows my mind.
Viagra blindness, Ding Dongs, Bonaroo, & showerless Bammers.
I can always count on the HABOTN to brighten my day.
JayG, What player are you using for the audio embed? Might want to check this out: http://tinyurl.com/2rj7qz
E-Bro, it may have to go to the tooth count to decide whether or not its the bama game or Bonnaroo
Swole Bryan is a media expert.
Jay G:
Steven Strasburg on ESPN. What's your take on this prospect?
E-Bro, I think you are right.
This Census is freakin' disorganized and needlessly spending money. Guy just rang my doorbell saying they never got our info. I sent it back before most people even got their forms (door to door guy hand delivered it). I talked to another guy who was on our street last week, helping him out with who was here an who wasn't (most residents are seasonal), and he confirmed that they had our stuff. The amount of paperwork they have is amazing. They've now paid three different people to come out to our street. What a waste of money! Stupid government.
I wonder if cincytiger is going up to her old stomping grounds memorial day weekend?
Which stomping grounds would that be, mtd, and what is going on there that I should go?
Peter,
The census people called me last week about the condo we have for sale in Auburn. They asked me who was living there in April. No one, it is vacant and is for sale. He asked me about 42 more times about who lived there! Then he wanted more of my personal information. I told him unless he had someone to buy my condo, that was all the info I had. I agree - much money has been wasted. Beginning with a commercial during the Super Bowl.
Reference Census - IRS should get together with the Census Bureau to compare notes. If you've filed a return, you (and your dependents) are counted. If you haven't filed a return, well then, tough. You don't get counted and you don't get to collect services.
Heading up to Cincinnati for some family graduation, and evidently the Taste of Cincinnati
Peter, same issue here in little Korea...
Guy came to the door to do the census.. told him I already sent it in...
he said they did not get it, I said sorry I sent it in...
He then starts on the line of... so you are refusing to answer the census...
What I wanted to say was..
No DUMB A&^!! I am refusing to answer for a second time... go find out what happened to the original form.
But I kindly said thank you ans shut the door...
By the way, I was told they make over $16.00 per hour plus miles in Georgia.... HOLY CRAP!!! they could not find minimum wage people to ask questions off a form??
WHAT!?!? I CAN'T HEAR YOU!
Oh yes, I forgot Taste was Memorial Day weekend. Mmmmmmm good!
We will be going to Colorado for a Cincinnati friend's Air Force Academy Graduation.
Eat some Graeter's ice cream for me! It is divine.
Just chased down Census worker #3, complained and asked for his supervisors number. Of course, the supervisor wasn't answering, so I got someone else. I raged on the guy, and his response was "I'm not doing anything. I'm just a guy who took a job for a few months to make some money." I hate bureaucrats!
Jet,
Are you reading this okay?
$16 an hour?!? I'd be willing to have people shut a door in my face for $16 an hour ... plus mileage.
In the next election, I'm voting for whoever will promise me that they will shut down the Department of Commerce. I'm so angry right now.
Eventually, I figured out that "Just a Job"-guy was in Quality Control, and that I needed to be unloading my RAGE on Operations, but they're all in meeting all day, so I'll need to call back tomorrow.
I always thought Hermes on Futurama was funny, until I found out that he's real, but less Jamaican and cool.
Pete, P90x will dispense of your rage.
That and a general reorganization of Washington DC and the elected and appointed officials therein.
But PF, if you shut down the Department of Commerce, you'll be slowing the growth of the one sector of the economy that's consistently growing -- government.
Bryan,
I'll never be swole, and that corn cob pullup looks really hard. I may give it a shot, but that will not end my RAGE when crap like this focuses my attention on government spending.
Listen, not a year goes by, not a year, that I don't hear about some
escalator accident involving some bastard kid which could have easily
been avoided had some parent - I don't care which one - but some parent conditioned him to fear and respect that escalator.
A lawyer I know just posted that on Facebook. It could have just as easily come from HABOTN, so I'm posting it here.
PF -
1: any candidate promising to limit the size of government will get serious consideration from me.
2: as a small child, I was a victim of an escalator incident. Even at that age, I knew it was my own foolishness. I left a decent trail of blood on Gayfers floor as I ran/hobbled to catch up with my mother. Here's a tip, don't ride escalators barefoot and pay attention to when it approaches the end of the ride.
Good morning, but I digress.
Steve,
Just looking at your pics on Facebook, and the one in the blue shirt and long shorts makes me thing you may be a very interesting person. Why are you not teaching our youth to be jaded? You've got the look for it.
Think, not thing. Sometimes my fingers just take over when I type.
Teaching our youth? Are you crazy? I saw on an episode of WKRP that by adult standards, children are insane.
Look. It's a sailboat.
And I have no picture with blue shirt and long shorts on facebook.
I am of the firm convention that any job you can't do in your underwear isn't worth doing, and that wouldn't work well with teaching kids.
There is NO Easter Bunny!
....and E-bro, just wrong.
I don't believe in Santa Claus, the Easter Bunny, or politics; and I am better off because of it.
Suge Knight has been arrested on charges of assault with a deadly weapon. Sad to hear. Who the heck is Suge Knight?
ditto SFC.
Knight....he was involved with Tupac. some folks think he killed him. never was proven true.
When do I get to see the dam sailboat?
Ah, a rape guy. I have heard of Tupac. Man, a raper breaking the law. I never thought I would see that. What's next. Fish swimming?
I believe in Santa Claus, and that he loves some kids more than others because -- face it -- some kids are brats.
I believe in the Easter Bunny, otherwise I'd look like an idiot for wanting chocolate bunnies every spring.
I believe that politics is vicious, if it's done right.
Don't "rapers" by definition break the law?
I believe in the stock market because it is something I can understand. Buy low and sell high. It has numbers so it makes sense.
Jet - it's another case of hilariously wrong words by our friend.
Re:Suge Knight
See my 8:12am post as to what he was doing.
Re:picture
Unless there's another Steve in Columbia that looks like you and is a fan of the HABOTN and reads William Glasser, the pic I spoke of exists.
Re:Belief in the Stock Market
It makes about as much sense as the Easter Bunny. It's made up of a bunch of potentially volitile companies owned by men who have been known to make rash and emotional decisions. There have been economists who have devoted their entire lives to the market that cannot make money playing it.
So what else is going on?
Seanzie - learning about Cuba and having some food.
Cuba?
Do go on.
Cuba: Communist land that used to be paradise and the #1 tourist spot for Americans. Auburn played a bowl game there once, I think. Since Castro took over, it has steadily gone into disrepair. The best and the brightest have largely been jailed or escaped to America for a new life. Also, all of the criminals were sent to America in the late 40s, which is why Miami sucks. They make good sandwiches, cigars, and sugar there.
yall need to check JG's HABOTN playlist. it's good listening. there's a link on facebook.
Hey, I make money with the stock market. You must know some dumb scientists.
Rappers? rapers? What's the difference. Criminals are criminals.
Thanks Peter, but more specifically, what and why was Norm learning about Cuba?
Lance is on TV blasting Floyd Landis for being a general toolbag. I have to agree with him, Floyd lost his credibility a long time ago, and is coming across as a jealous brat now.
i would agree PF. i saw that Landis stuff at the gym this morning.
I fear escalators, but I refuse to give them my respect.
Cuban sandwiches are awesome!
Steve,
You know better than that.
I am definitely a William Glasser fan, but don't know nothing about the picture you are talking about. I studied Glasser and Choice Theory for a few years.
Relax, all right? My old man is a television repairman, he's got this ultimate set of tools. I can fix it.
Am I hallucinating here? Just what in the hell do you think you're doing?
Yeah, it's bad enough win athlete's are caught cheating/doping, but when they so vociferously deny the accusations as Landis (he even took it to court I think) did after forfeiting his Tour de France victory in 2007, and then come out a few years later and say, "yeah, I totally cheated and lied afterwards about it for two years. My bad"
Below me. Now this just gives cycling more bad press with the Tour of California and Giro d'Italia going on. Thanks Floyd.
People on 'ludes should not drive.
ehyou - Thanks for catching up.
That is disappointing. Now, let me see what we have learned. Rappers, rapers, politicians, and bikers are all criminals and evil.
What are you people? On dope?
This comment has been removed by the author.
Thanks PF. That is definitely me, although I am not nearly so dang sexy these days. Facebook is also evil and I don't understand it. Rappers, rapers, politicians, bikers, and facebook are all criminals and evil.
Hey, wait a minute, there's no birthday party for me here!
No shirt, no shoes...no deal.
I always have shirt and shoes if Birkenstocks count as shoes.
If you're here and I'm here, doesn't that make this OUR time?
The stock market is falling bad today and we are all going to die. Of course, tomorrow will be another day and opinions vary.
Strike that, Landis fraudulent victory was in 2006. Alberto Contador of course won it in 2007.
Silly me.
Jet,
Don't read this.
Everyone else, it's a link to another blog's "Regional Radar" prognosis for AU Baseball.
Man, Barney Frank's on TV. One of the things on my bucket list is to hear Barney Frank say "waskeldie wabbit". Then I can die.
I mean...no dice. Next time I'll cheat when trying to quote movies. Maybe some of Floyd Landis' performance enhancers would help me.
On the Landis topic, I bet 70-75% of all athletes in major pro sports are on some kind of PED.
HGH is hard to test for and apparently can be easily masked even with Olympic level testing.
ChocoScott...
Show a little pride, OK?
Does anyone doubt that Lance Armstrong used PEDs?
70-75%? That's quite an assumption.
ScoCho - I'm disappointed in you, but glad you fessed up.
90% of all statistics are wrong. Someone once said that there are three kinds of lies: lies, damn lies, and statistics.
Frequently credited to Mark Twain, Steve.
He prefers Sameul Clemons.
we're almost to d.c.
Lady gaga has been traveling with us for a while now.
THT - that's horrible for you.
Speaking of statistics; they've done studies you know, 60% of the time, it works every time.
Lance didn't PEDs and Pat Dye didn't cheat.
Auburn golf team a shot out of fifth place in the South Central Regional. Top five teams advance to the NCAA Championships in old Ooltewah, TN.
Tip of the cap to Jet for telling me last week that the top five teams from each regional advance to the championships.
Look into my eyes, Eduardo.
Cuba and Lady GaGa. Awesome.
As for Pat Dye, I will reserve judgment on him until we have an answer to pantsgate.
As a study, would some of you de-pants yourself and walk into your home and explain to your wife that you lost your pants. Let me know how that goes for you.
Rappers, rapers, politicians, bikers, and any lady who refers to herself as gaga are all evil and criminals.
Below me. Below me. Below me? Be... oh I get it now.
THT & Lady Gaga???.....i didn't see that one coming.
Dare I say you couldn't read his "Poker Face?"
Nah, I won't.
Knowing my wife, she was roll her eyes and laugh. It would definitely NOT be shocking for me to come home with no pants, and infidelity ranks about 257th on the list of possible causes for it to happen to me.
Being drunk at the lake and accidentally throwing them in the water because I'm a [Tony Franklin] when I've been drinking is #18. No explanation necessary there.
What is reason 213? Just wondering. My 213 is that I gave my pants to a polar bear.
Michael, I don't have the list in front of me, but that sounds about right. My explanation for that one: I was escaping.
