HABOTN 2.0 countdown begins

Hey everyone. The "new" HABOTN, which has been in the works for months, is going to be unveiled at some point this weekend.

It signals a major change in how we're going to operate here. While my primary focus will remain on making a pool of credible and timely information, we're adding a proper forum to the festivities. Several of our most tenured posters graciously agreed to help me test the forum this week for problems, adjustments, functionality.

Things have been running smoothly over there after a rough beginning. I'm now confident enough to unveil the HABOTN's first-ever renovation.

See you at HABOTN 2.0 later this weekend.

This will be our permanent home:

This should be exciting. I wonder if it will have a special area to store Michael's goats.

8:21 PM
Blogger SteveFC said...

And this site has too many puppet parts laying around. I would have Michael clean up after we leave.

8:22 PM
Blogger SteveFC said...

And a real forum is exciting. I can see the threads now. Tubertalk is one. Tony Franklin and you might be another. Bumping chests with Trooper should be interesting. A thread to keep track of the number of times Chizik says day by day would surely be a must read. And the Eric Mack and cheese thread is sure to be tasty.

It's kinda lonely over here on the old blog. HABOTN 2.0 looks great. I've been cruising around over there for an hour or so while waiting for approval. Maybe I'll make it in time for the 3:00 induction ceremony. Btw, where is the ROF list posted over there?

11:30 AM
Blogger Tar Heel Tiger said...

Hi Scott Choco

Michael and I are here to keep you company. I'm here because the feds block the new HABOTN forum web site. Michael is here because he is Michael.

11:34 AM
Blogger Scott Chocolate said...

So what's your plan, THT?

Michael, how's business?

11:38 AM
Blogger Tar Heel Tiger said...

induction ceremony?

I love math parties. As Michael can attest, induction is the mathematical demonstration of the validity of a law concerning all the positive integers by proving that it holds for the integer 1 and that if it holds for an arbitrarily chosen positive integer k, it must hold for the integer k + 1

... or is it the other kind of induction ceremony? Is someone going to have a baby on HABOTN at 3 pm?

11:40 AM
Blogger Tar Heel Tiger said...

chocolate - I plan on getting paroled at 4 pm EDT, and being at home with my ankle bracelet on by about 4:30.

11:41 AM
Blogger Scott Chocolate said...

If it's either of those two types of induction, then I'm not going (unless I'm induced to).

11:49 AM
Blogger michael said...

SC - It is "shots week" at the goat farm in Idaho. What started as a way of immunizing the goats over the course of a week back in 1997 has devolved into a drunken haze of tequila shots for 7 days straight. Although disease is up within the community due to the lack of immunizations, they tend to reproduce more as a result of the tequila. So it's all the same to me.

Never ask me about my business.

12:23 PM
Blogger Scott Chocolate said...

Michael, will you send one of your goats over to HABOTN 2.0 with a message asking JGT to approve me? I will pay you (or your goat) in tequila.

12:38 PM
Blogger Scott Chocolate said...

Apparently I've been approved. Cancel the goat mission!

Blogger michael said...

Congrats THT. You made the RoF!

3:06 PM

I bet it was my Arky Media Days thread post frenzy today that got your much needed vote.

Next time I'm in Idaho, I'll buy your goats a round of tequila shots.

so, continuing the story started at 10:01 a.m on this thread...

Nubs decided he need a playmate, so he adopted a 4 legged dog from the local animal shelter.

12:43 PM
Blogger Tar Heel Tiger said...

the dog was a bit hyper at first, and thought that Nubs was a stuffed toy and not a real live bear.

12:44 PM
Blogger Tar Heel Tiger said...

Nubs suffered a few bumps and bruises as the dog would grab Nubs and toss him across the room.

12:45 PM
Blogger Tar Heel Tiger said...

However, it wasn't long before the dog calmed down and learned that the immobile Nubs could use a little help.

12:46 PM
Blogger Tar Heel Tiger said...

The dog became Nubs's BFF and even learned to carry Nubs to the bathroom and to the dinner table (where of course, Nubs had to be placed on the table in order to eat, seeing as how he had no arms or legs).

12:47 PM
Blogger Tar Heel Tiger said...

The mailman came by one day and saw Nubs and the dog playing so happily together.

"What is your dog's name?" asked the letter carrier.

12:48 PM
Blogger Tar Heel Tiger said...

shouted Nubs.

"Why that name?" asked the letter carrier.

12:49 PM
Blogger Tar Heel Tiger said...

"because I want to be cool like Scottie B and the Great People of KENNESAW, GEORGIA!", replied Nubs.

And, indeed, he was.

But still. Jim Philips thinks that it is great you are trying to make a proper site like price per head services.

10:26 PM
Blogger Tar Heel Tiger said...

Jim might think differently if he was aware there is a price on his head.

8:03 AM
Blogger michael said...

I don't know if the price itself would shock Jim more or just that someone wants his head. Probably the head part, but we may never know if he doesn't come back to the thread.

4:01 PM
Blogger Tar Heel Tiger said...

Oh he'll be back, alright. He'll be headless, but he'll be back.
