I don't think that says anything, THT. But I could be wrong.
Looking at it upside down, I see some LOLs in there.
What's so intermittently funny, THT?
If you tilt it 83 degrees, it looks like a bunch of zeros and ones at an 83 degree angle
Dude! It totally does!
y'all are silly. I was simply replying to michael. This is a digital page with a digital smell. Fortunately, there are no strings of four or more consecutive 0s. That would really smell awful.
Hey, MJT. Look at last place: http://cfn.scout.com/2/1097657.html
Just wait a few years. After they storm through the Big 12 a few times, they'll be up at least to 10th from last.
and still 20+ spots behind Del Monte P-F
some may think that stands for Pre-Flight, but we all know it's the Del Monte Pineapple Factory.
They were unbeatable until the NCAA banned the use of pineapples as a substitute for footballs.
The NCAA was completely controlled by Dole back then. Del Monte got hosed.
We should have a "Dole Bowl."
"Welcome to the Dole Bowl, folks. This is it. This game is for all the bananas."
"And the PA attempt for a cherry on top."
"They're really slinging the pineapple all over the yard today."
Mangos. You've got to have mangos.
"He cuts left! He's got an open field! And there the Man-goes!!!" ("man" said like "main")
only 395 days until kickoff. I guess until then we're stuck with the Fantasy Fruit League.
GO TIGERS!
WARRRRRRRRRRR EAGLE!!!
What's wrong with the FFL? It fantasies good, don't it?
well, peaches just seem a bit out of place there, and I love me some peaches.
And speaking of apples, the made-in-house Apple Cobbler at the Village Tavern at Reynolda Village in W-S was one of the best desserts I ever did eat. They use Nilla Wafers for the soft crust. We're taking 10/10 goodness. A la mode, of course! I don't know if they have same quality, but I notice a location at
Lower Level - The Summit
101 Summit Boulevard
Birmingham, AL 35243
Do you also like being taken on fishing trips to the beach?
Thanks for the apple pie pointer. I'll have to give that place a look see.
Here's a fun article!
http://auburn.247sports.com/Gallery/46563589/GallerySlides/303096-303096?View=Full#303096-303096
No, not to the beach or anywhere else. Last fishing trip I went on was to Lake Eufala in late March 1974. I didn't even catch a cold.
The original Apple Cobbler at Chili's still can't be beat, though.
JOVON WASNT AT PRACTICE TODAY I REPEAT JOVON AWASNTBH AWHNRKAJSKASTJTGJ WEGQVUEJQBJ QJIIQ
Jovon's off the team!
How many days until the 2017 season?
Freakkin frik dang gumit shoot all to heck
Just a little adversity. Gonna be an even bigger story now when we go undefeated.
We will go undefeated 6 out of every 7 days each week this season. We'll even be undefeated one entire week in October.
michael, you've got 394 days, 20 hours, 21 minutes and 47 seconds until 2017 kickoff
Ok, let me reach for the orange and blue tinted shades and say this...
I didn't really expect much from Jovon this season. Nothing more than flashes, anyway. Dude has talent. No doubt. But he didn't show a consistent enough attitude in the past to make me think he was going to buy in to being a good teammate.
Doesn't really change my expectations for the season, though that's in large part because I don't have any. Just going to try and enjoy the season for however it turns out and hope we make a bowl game at least, and then I'll go from there when/if we get to six wins.
I'm good with the tax slayer bowl
This is for all the bananas, folks!
It's very clear to me that Gus is going all in. No more trying to balance things out. I have to respect him for that. If he's going to be searching for a new job in a few months, it's going to be on his own terms. He's gonna coach this year his way with no compromise.
"That's a bold move, Cotton. Let's see if it pays off."
Transfer U:
http://www.montgomeryadvertiser.com/story/sports/college/auburnauthority/2016/08/03/former-baylor-qb-jarrett-stidham-attending-auburns-preseason-practice/88039682/
So which QB does this development help/hurt the most? I saw on Twitter Warblogle thought this helps JFIII. I actually think this helps the more traditional passers since we are now so thin at RB. Don't want to put all your offensive chips on Kerryon staying healthy. And I have no doubt Gus still thinks of himself as a passing guru.
and by "this" I mean the Jovon situation, not the baylor dude that bubbs snuck in before I posted.
That's a good question. You're argument, however, assumes we have someone to throw the ball to. Let's say SW gets the nod. If the receivers drop a bunch of balls or run the wrong routes, it's all moot. Gus would have to go with a running attack. Also, as much as he might think of himself as a "passing guru" he continues to harp on his offense being "running offense." It's also where he's had the most success.
Right now we have:
(more traditional backs)
Johnson
Miller
Martin
(bigger FB/H type backs)
Pettway
Cox
That's thin when you consider Johnson is the only guy with real RB experience.
My conclusion is that we'll be going with ineffective. That's our mythical 2016 season offense.
Yeah, unless one of the QBs makes some great leap in performance this year, I agree the offense will be ineffective. But the interesting question is what style of offense exactly will be ineffective?! That's why we love fall camp! So many questions!
Is the man from Nantucket overly optimistic on AU's bowl destination?
Sometimes my wife or I (mainly my wife tho) get mad at the kids, and we dole out some harsh punishment (NO TV or TREATS FOR A MONTH!)
Then we settle down and realize, oh crap, this punishment will be a pain in the butt for all involved... we were just really mad and didn't think this through. What have we done?!
I wonder if that's how Gus is feeling this morning.
If he's like us, he'll call Jovon and say he can earn back TV/Treats/Spot on the team by folding all the laundry and mopping downstairs or something.
I don't care how much weight they say KJ has gained, I still think he'll be more in the mold of Mccalebb, i.e. not a "traditional" back. At this point, we might as well have Earl Brown at the helm.
Getting the ball to the receivers may be a bigger issue than the ball sticking to them once it arrives, though it's entirely possible both will be issues this non-existent season.
394 days and some 7 or so hours until kickoff.
GO TIGERS!
WARRRRRR EAGLE!!!
Here's the deal. Gus got tired of making JR (halfway) do the laundry. No matter what he did, JR never submitted to his authority. I wouldn't say he got put up for adoption, but he's going to an all boys boarding school now. And it's not a nice one.
I dunno, THT. I think up the middle plays are going to go to Pettway and Cox (most of the time). Maybe even Miller. KJ and Martin will spend most of their time on the perimeter in order to try to utilize their speed.
But. Whatever. This not-really-happening-season is going to be terrible.
It will be interesting to see who is on the field and who gets the ball in short yardage situations. JJ and Pettway maybe? With Cox lead blocking? Throw in a Kerryon-cat from time to time like last year for good measure.
This is what our red zone offense will look like this year:
https://img.buzzfeed.com/buzzfeed-static/static/2016-05/24/16/enhanced/buzzfeed-prod-fastlane02/anigif_original-grid-image-28671-1464120777-2.gif
So you're saying our RBs will find a hole and get through it? Nice optimism!
Hey, this is good:
http://donaldmaroney.tumblr.com/
My son is 7, ipad is my only carrot and stick
I wonder if Gus took away Jovon's ipad before going nuclear?
That thought troubles me, MJT.
I suspect he went straight for nuclear. Gus needs to step down.
So. Who's our next coach going to be in 2017?
well, if we don't want a nuclear coach, we'll probably hire someone who'll double ticket prices and give every back and receiver an equal number of "touches" no matter if they practice hard or not.
ugh. I just read the article about the transfer u docu-series. It wouldn't hurt my feelings if CGM dismissed JFiii right now. I'd rather have a good AU man at QB than someone of that ilk. Unless, of course, he can beat ua-t.
JFIII is ... an unknown to me. Depending on how you want to spin the docu-series, he can come across a couple different ways. Hacks have gone out of their way to mention him being upbeat/chummy in practices since it came out. I suspect they feel like we're not getting a full portrait of who he is, and they're making a "correction." JMO
But let's get down to brass tacks. Can he 1. complete >60% of his passes 2. not turn over the ball? If the answer to both of those is "yes," then we'll all be his biggest fans. If the answer to either is "no," he'll forever be a footnote in AU football trivia.
Hmm. Well, I can't really fault Gus for this one. If I were him, I'd probably be pretty pissed at JR. Why can't we all just get along?
http://www.ledger-enquirer.com/sports/college/sec/auburn-university/war-eagle-extra/article93899387.html
Morning question: Does KJ stay healthy the whole season?
Hey E-Bro and Jimmy,
What do you think about this: http://qz.com/750531/americans-are-quietly-assembling-the-powerhouse-soccer-league-europe-fears/
Quartz is real hit or miss, and I don't know enough about this to know if it's complete non-sense or something to keep an eye on.
Did you know if you tape quartz to a watch it becomes a lot more reliable?
I tried that once, but the computer screen was too heavy to carry around all day.
Yet another reason you should seriously consider some sort of weight lifting program.
re: 9:16 a.m. Not if he runs between the tackles.
My Fossil watch still keeps time (it must have quartz), but the AU on the dial no longer flashes on/off. It's just off. Unfortunately, I don't think they make this watch anymore :( It's the 2nd watch I've owned in the past 36 years. I may go back to the Seiko which has been in a drawer for about 10 years.
I think we've talked about watches before. But that's all I remember about the conversation.
Hey, you guys think this "writer" might be Bortac?
http://www.al.com/sports/index.ssf/2016/08/the_troubling_trend_of_auburns.html
@brianjstultz
Looking for good news, Auburn fans? Last two times Alabama (2010, 13) started No. 1 in coaches poll, Tigers appeared in national title game.
Not sure I can hang my watch on that, Jimmy. That's some thin hope, right there.
I'd rather AU not appear in the national title game than have 84 teams disabled by the polio virus.
it might even take 85.
puppet hour! I'll be stocking shelves nonstop til midnight, y'all enjoy PH on my behalf.
AAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!
I feel as if we have let THT down.
it's not the first time, bubbs. I'm used to it ;)
Paying so little attention to the non-season, I don't know what our depth is at safety. Do we have enough depth there that we could see Rudy at RB?
Could be the most Gus thing for Gus to say,
Asked if Auburn could play all three QBs in the opener, Malzahn smiled and said, "I doubt it. ... Unless it's a trick play."
bubbs...
Re: your earlier article about soccer in America
I would say it's closer to nonsense (though not completely) than something to really keep an eye on. No doubt European clubs are interested in the US Market, but my feeling is that as these summer pre-season tournaments continue, interest will wane. There's still a bit of new car smell to them right now.
Plus, I think eventually there will be a backlash from European fans as well as the players who are already asked to play and travel too much.
I could see a scenario where a European league starts playing some regular season games over here like the NFL does in London, though.
THT, it doesn't appear as though they'll be moving Rudy. I think it would take an injury or two to the existing backs before that happened. So, you know, just hang on a second and let's see.
Jimmy, Gus is boring at all his pressers. It could be worse. He could be a loose cannon saying all kinds of crazy things.
That sounds like a more reasonable assessment of things, E-Bro.
From the sound of things, JFIII will not be starting. We'll probably have some packages for him, but he's not going to start.
What do you guys think? JJ or Grit?
BEASLEY!!!BEASLEY!!!BEASLEY!!!
BEASLEY!!!BEASLEY!!!BEASLEY!!!
BEASLEY!!!BEASLEY!!!BEASLEY!!!
BEASLEY!!!BEASLEY!!!BEASLEY!!!
BEASLEY!!!BEASLEY!!!BEASLEY!!!
BEASLEY!!!BEASLEY!!!BEASLEY!!!
BEASLEY!!!
I say JJ, since I can barely remember who the other QBs are. What's a Grit? I know there is Queen, White, and Barrett, but I don't know if any one of them is better than JJ.
oh wait... JJ will be gone by 2017. So, I have no idea who will start.
390 days til kickoff!
GO TIGERS!
WARRRRRRRRRRRR EAGLE!!!
Grit = White
I'm just going to set this down right here:
http://www.npr.org/sections/thesalt/2016/08/06/488861223/cockroach-milk-yes-you-read-that-right?
npr and cockroaches... not surprised to see them in the same link.
Saw that article pop up on my twitter newsfeed a couple of days ago and decided I want no part of reading it. Still don't.
I think Grit Laser starts the first game. I don't care what the coaches say about clean slates, how can you forget how many times JJ threw it directly to the other team?
That's how I see it too, MJT.
I bet it's frustrating. Let's say JJ is a practice player (I have to assume he is for him to have ever seen the field last year). There he is, doing everything in practice to make you think he should be the guy, but they know he melts under the lights. How do handle that? "JJ, we appreciate your effort and your stats say you should start, but we're going another direction. You never really had a chance."
Maybe they'll throw a lot of confusing defensive packages at him during the scrimmages so that it'll make it tough for him to do well. Heck, if they let the QB's go live, that should be enough to make him shut down.
I think Grit's numbers will be close enough to JJ's in the scrimmages in order for them to give him the edge. It should set up for another underwhelming season ... Well. At least for those of you who believe we're having a 2016 season.
390 DAYS!!
My expectations are 7 to 8 wins. Hopefully I am merely whelmed and not underwhelmed.
You should lower those expectations to 5 or 6 wins just in case.
Our only hope for 8 wins is if there are several surprisingly sucky teams in the SECW this season. I'm expecting no fewer than 4 wins. 15 would be better.
We are going to Jacksonville guys!
New Years Ever 2016,
Auburn Tigers your 2016 Tax Slayer Bowl Champions!
Not a big fan of Jacksonville. (Fun Fact: Jacksonville is the birthplace of bubbs)
Think I'll probably stay home even if we make a bowl this year.
Hey, THT, since you're going to get hogtied into going to AU in a few weeks you should check this out. While Mrs. THT is watching the "game," you can travel to Seale and check this place out.
http://www.npr.org/2016/08/08/487384516/an-alabama-museum-you-can-enjoy-from-the-drivers-seat
Nice summary. Yet a little lower on the projected wins (6.5).

ESPN announces broadcasting team of Brent Musburger, Jesse Palmer and Kaylee Hartung for Auburn/Clemson
I'm starting to question if I have an affinity for any broadcasting crew.
Well, I liked Nessy and Blackledge pretty good, but Nessy is basically on sabbatical at CBS while he waits to take Verne's throne next season.
I (mostly) like Fowler as a play by play guy, but am "meh" on Herb.
doggone it, bubbs, you tricked me into going to npr.org. That looks like a museum that I would absolutely love to visit. Maybe after the LSU game since I now have a week off without a trip to Alaska.
Ugh, with that broadcast crew, you are strongly tempting me to drive to AU sans MrsTHT for the Clemson debacle. I've never cared for "Nessy" or Palmer. At. All. I like Brent, but I don't really like listening to him. Blackledge doesn't offend me. Too bad Mike Lange doesn't do college football.
I might stay home and watch on TV if they'll just keep the camera on the Washington & Lee grad and not on the game.
Here is the movie I helped produce in Bogota last year
http://www.ew.com/article/2016/08/09/belko-experiment-james-gunn-greg-mclean?xid=entertainment-weekly_socialflow_twitter
Heck of a cast you had working on that, Jimmy. From Johnny C to Gallagher (fan of his work in The Newsroom, Short Term 12, 10 Cloverfield Lane) to Rooker.
From reading the article, is the film actually set in Bogota or Colombia, or did shooting there just save money?
Nice, Jimmy. How long before an average Joe can get their eyes on it? You know, without going to a film festival or the like.
You had to mention Alaska and a game in the mythical 2016 season all in one post, THT. Now I'm depressed.
I was really looking forward to our trip.
E-Bro: Gallagher is a really nice guy, and makes his own music. The script was originally set in Argentina, however Colombia has a 40% local labor and local spend rebate. That is why some companies are shooting in Colombia now. so mostly to save money.
bubbs: 2017, I think around early Spring. Hopefully it will be a wide release.
The one I am working on now in Massachusetts has a really great cast, Jason Clark as Ted Kennedy, Kate Mara as Mary Jo, Ed Helms as Joe Gargan, Bruce Dern as Joe Kennedy, Chris Cooper as Robert McNamara.
Wonder if MJT is still stuck on a Delta "flight."
Another stellar cast there, Jimmy. Have wondered why Clark hasn't been given his due (he was great in Zero Dark Thirty..and other stuff, but especially that) as he's mostly been limited mostly to character work it seems. Sounds like he's the lead here, though.
Also, if Kate or her sister Rooney ever want to grab a drink or something, I'd probably be down. Just tell them you know this great guy on the internet that you've never met, but he's from TN and an Auburn man, so he's good people. Yeah, say that.
I'm probably not allowed to have a drink with Kate, but we could do coffee. If she asks what kinda guy I am, just print off the internet and highlight all the "bubbs" stuff. That's sure to impress.
How do you guys feel about this new Hack, chick Lauren Shute at SEC Country?
This comment has been removed by the author.
Interesting take. Anyone seen The Lobster? I like the premise (as this article describes it anyway).
http://www.vox.com/2016/8/10/12416672/stranger-things-netflix-review-original-story
I have no earthly idea what THT had to say.
If I was in Kate Mara's family, I'd just study maps and not worry about work.
Lauren Shute and SEC Country? That's probably on the basement TV which I only use for football games and hockey.
Suttons cheeseburgers (me) and reuben sammiches (2.0) are superb.
bubbs...saw The Lobster a month or two back. Definitely offbeat and original. Not an out and out black comedy due to its absurdity, but has some dark elements. Also some genuinely affectionate moments as well, though again balanced by absurdity.
I'm good with all those qualities, E-Bro. I'll have to put it on my list of "to see."
RG comments about Cowart floating around. He's talking like the switch has flipped. I'm still hoping for a solid contributor and little more.
You know, it's funny how different this year and last are projected. In reality there's little difference in personnel, we just have a larger body of work by which to grade the QBs. Frankly, we're better equipped (on paper) on D than we have been in years.
Granted, our RB situation is tenuous at best. But I feel like the coaches at least know what they have this year. Clearly, there were issues with JR that kept him from getting the playing time we needed out of him. It wouldn't surprise me if we get middle of the pack QB play, but end up blaming lack of RB depth for a couple losses.
I'm not saying we'll be good. I don't think we will be. I think the expectations are properly set this year. A sane O/U is set at about 7 wins. 8 would be maxing potential. Anything above 8 and a lot of "miracles" (2013) would need to happen. 6+1(bowl) would probably be enough for Gus to keep his job. <6 and we'll be speculating on who our new coach is by December.
Why are we waiting til December?
Tom Herman if Big 12 doesn't take Houston?
Art Briles?
Willie Taggart?
Matt Rhule?
Larry Fedora with GC as his DC?
Mike Bobo after CSU goes 12-0 this season?
Will Muschamp after fellow Jays Jacobs & Gogue fly under the cover of darkness to Charlotte in late November?
Willie Simmons?
I think Tom is getting scooped up one way or the other. If we get in the conversation soon enough ...
Too soon to go after Art.
I'm not excited about Willie.
Matt would be an interesting choice.
Larry would fit our current roster. Wonder if Gene would be willing to follow him here.
Not a fan of Mike Bobo
Coach Boom would make for a lot of message board fun.
Had to look Willie up. Not sure he's ready for the big time, but I always like a good gamble. Let's do it!
well, I wasted my time developing that list. Here's what the experts said today
p.s. I haven't read it yet, let me know if they plagiarized my list.
ok, they stole my #1 and my #4. They changed the last name of #2 on my list and moved my #3 to #8, obviously a thinly veiled effort to avoid copyright infringement charges. It didn't work. I've already placed a call to my internet intellectual property attorney, Feng.
I think the only reason Larry didn't make the list is because he's not "on the rise." He's been a known quantity (good) for a while now.
Wait...Wait...Wait.... there is a guy named Doc Holiday and is a new top emerging in college football coach.
Jacobs, fire up that Jet in Opelika.
well, it's all moot. JJ says he's not going to "flip people out of here like pancakes" anymore, and that Gus is the right man for the job now and for a long time to come.
Unfortunately, the writer of the article did not provide a translation of "long time" into units that I understand.
What kind of offense does Doc run?
Maybe that's the football I should be watching this year. Make a short list with some of these coaches and watch their teams. I can make highlight videos with commentary and send it to JJ's Pancake Shack.
Auburn football is the only football you should be watching, good or bad. Read the dadgum Creed you knuckleheads...
"I believe in Auburn and love it."
We believe Auburn; it's Gus we're questioning.
Have so far watched the first couple episodes of "Last Chance U". I can see why JF3 hasn't come off great, but from the cheap seats, he mostly just seems like a college kid to me. Sure, he could use a dose of humility, but he's not all that different, attitude wise, from a lot of college football players I've seen before.
Furthermore, he seems like a bright kid with a sharp mind. I'm not talking about football when I say that. I don't know much about him as concerns football other than that he is a gifted athlete. Whatever else his shortcomings, he doesn't come off as an idiot.
The guy who comes off worse to me through two episodes is the head coach. Certainly with the cussing, even if cussing is still a big part of football, but he seems part of the good ol boy network of coaching that's more interested in winning than anything. He talks about this being a last chance for these guys to make an impression, but other than providing an avenue with which to play football, he doesn't seem much interested in developing their character to the point of becoming a better man, which more than the football, is probably what the guys in this situation need more than anything.
Maybe the next four episodes will make me feel differently about all this. Regardless, it's been interesting to watch.
Good show. Your assessment is pretty fair, and I don't think you'll change it after you finish.
Cool
http://www.auburntigers.com/sports/m-footbl/spec-rel/081216aaa.html
I've always thought very highly of QR and RB. It's a shame I don't ever listen to the games on the radio.
sup, HABOTN readers? I delight to assist with pesky terminal papers for little expenditure from you. If you please send direct message to @IripUoff$
I am suspicious of you drdra, but I do need some help on my dissertation. But you're not getting more than $100 from me until I am certain you are legit.
I've used that service before, michael. drdra has a really cool software feature that prevents directly plagiarized sections (basically, the entire dissertation) from being detected by those ornery professors who may use
DupliChecker, CopyLeaks, PaperRater, Plagiarisma, PlagiarismChecker, Plagium, PlagScan, PlagTracker, or Quetext.
However, it won't trick Viper, so be careful. If you're still interested, send $19.95 to Dear Leader and he will forward to drdra.
I read PaperRater as "PaperRaper" at first. Though less seemly, I think it's PaperRaper might be a more apt name.
whether he wins a Heisman or doesn't start a single game, I hope his momma is right.
http://www.al.com/auburnfootball/index.ssf/2016/08/john_franklin_iii_auburn_journey.html
Wow, I had not considered that JFIII might have destiny on his side.
I change my prediction back to NATTY IS IN THE BAG! TEAM OF DESTINY! G
This is an interesting quote from today's presser:
"Auburn Gold Mine @AUGoldMine 19m19 minutes ago
Auburn's Gus Malzahn: 'Our quarterback has to be more of a runner this year. I don't care who it is.'"
Let's be frank. Gus knows who the QB is gonna be. He's slow playing as a strategy for Clemson. I'm cool with that. I'm still putting it as 75/25 odds for White/JFIII. I think White starts and JFIII begins his career as the wildcat guy.
According to Gus, even ole Chris Todd had to be a threat to be a runner back in the day. I wish he meant what it sounds like he means, but I don't think he really means what it sounds like I think he sounds like he means.
Norway belly flop competition
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0T0OLR4MzrM
I suspect that will be the way of this season, but I didn't expect you to be so harsh with your criticism, Jimmy.
I feel like I would die if I belly flopped from that height.
I feel like it's probably cheaper than a vasectomy and quite possibly more effective.
Yes, death is a very effective preventative measure to having more kids.
did Harrison create this map?
http://www.ironfrog.com/catsmap.html
There's got to be aome kind of tiger in RBD Library. Someone with current knowledge needs to update this list
http://www.ironfrog.com/librarycatsmap/AL.html
Our quarterback has to be more of a runner this year. I don't care who it is
Is that because he can't hit receivers or because he's our only RB?
It's just a wild guess, but I think the answer is Yes
It's not "if" the offense will be bad, it's "how bad" the offense will be. 2008? 2015?
I'm just wondering if the National Championship will feel better this year than in 2010. On the one hand, the first is usually the best, but on the other hand, it will be nice to win it without any scandals hanging over the season.
The scandal was one of the best parts. There was constant drama. JayG doing work and dropping hints and what he was hearing ... speculation was rampant. Add that to the exciting play on the field. It was electric.
Besides, now you can go back to all those bammers who said, "They wont keep it. They're gonna take that 'ship away when they find out everything on Cam." You can open a conversation, "Hey, I've been meaning to ask you. Have you heard anything else on the Cam investigation? I wanted to see how much time I still have to take my pic with the trophy."
Now if we can get minor injuries to the 3 guys behind him, we might have a shot.
http://www.cbssports.com/college-football/news/lsus-worst-nightmare-leonard-fournette-in-boot-following-ankle-injury/
Why would Fournette even be scrimmaging? I'd have him in a non-contact jersey.
NY Times got some slow readers:

I got 99% too. Must be like those facebook quizzes people always take and post that show they are geniuses. You know. Since all of you facebook.

I feel like Ben Johnson behind my keyboard.

Is that you Justin Gatlin? Congratulations. You were faster than Usain Bolt.
I got called a cheat the second time...

ON YOUR MARK SET BANG
While you did beat Bolt, your reaction time is considered by officials to be too fast to be humanly possible. You are disqualified.
I bet Lee Ziemba would get a negative start time on this.
ZING!!
E-Bro, that's funny!
HOW DARE YOU TALK ABOUT LEE ZIEMBA IN A NEGATIVE WAY!!!!!
This is a bit of twist as far as predictors go. We always focus on the skill positions when talking preseason (QB/RB etc), but I think a more consistent predictor is line play. Even at AU that's played out. When we've had a more experienced line (2010), we've done better things than when we haven't (2011/15). Sure, putting Trotter behind a great line doesn't mean we'll win a Natty. But great line play can make the difference in a couple games in the W/L department.
All that to say, we should have pretty solid lines on both sides of the ball this year:
DL is full of talent. If CL can stay healthy and if half the other guys live up to the hype we've been hearing out of camp, it might be the first time in a while we can count on them to make a difference.
OL is projected to be one of the best units in the country: https://www.profootballfocus.com/college-football-top-10-offensive-lines-in-notre-dame-stanford/
I'm revising my prediction. I think we get 7 wins in the regular season.
FEEL THE SUNSHINE!!
With that kind of sunshine, I'm going to start calling you the 5th Dimension, bubbs!!!
still mostly cloudy up here.
381 days until kickoff!
GO TIGERS!
WARRRRRRRRRR EAGLE!!!
Auburn has enough talent and coaching to win anywhere between 3 and 12 regular season games this year.
Anyone certain of how the season will go is ignorant, and they have proven it.
wait a minute. I'm not certain. Are you telling me I can't be ignorant?
You may not be ignorant, THT, but you'll always be an idiot. That's what MJT said, anyway.
well, that goes without saying, bubbs. But I'm pretty sure I can lay claim to ignorance, too. I'm a double gold medal winner!
I've been on the record numerous times saying all of yall are a bunch of idiots.
The issue of ignorance is a little stickier, though. Only those who have proven it are for sure ignorant. The rest of yall just have ignoramus potential.
I think part of being ignorant is that you can't be aware you are ignorant, thus ruling out THT. But since he claimed to be ignorant when he actually is not, it is safe to call him a liar.

well, maybe that explains all the burn marks on my pants.
That was rather unkind of JayG. I'm a lot of things, but if compared to footwear I'm much more a bunny slipper kinda guy.
What about vapid? Can I claim vapidityness?
Shoes? Why would anyone want shoes?
I didn't say I WANTED shoes. I just said that if you compared me to a pair of shoes - if i HAD to BE a pair of shoes, it would be bunny slippers.
WHY ARE YOU SUCH A LIAR!!
I'd like to be Oscar The Grouch slippers.
You know, the comment output around here might not be prolific, but the posts are of an incredibly high quality. We're basically a bunch of Stanley Kubricks and Terrence Malicks in here. You can't rush art.
Also, I'd be a pair of chewbacca slippers (like the pair we bought my brother in law last Christas) because of the eyes, mouth, ears, nose, incredible strength, long-lasting good health, and general zest for adventure.
my shoe
What's Christas, MJT? I'm always looking for new holidays to celebrate. I'm intrigued.
That shoe looks like a lying idiot, THT.
Christas is a wookie holiday, duh.
This video gave me a mental chuckle:

all of them?
But why male models?
So what's your question?

Unanimously, these African-American Evangelical preachers all acknowledge that Donald Trump is colorblind when it comes to race and is only interested in ensuring that all Americans have the opportunity to thrive and achieve the American dream,” said Cohen."
They don't even realize that the goal is not "color blind."
Sorry, THT ... Trump will succeed and pivoting this into personal gain, but I don't think he will succeed in becoming POTUS. Not by a long shot.

I think Cohen is really into the power of positive thinking.Like if you don't believe polls, then they won't be true. And if you say you won the interview, then you won the interview. Evidence schmevidence!
I guess Ryan Lochte shouldn't have stopped believing he was robbed at gun point.

Jim Harbaugh's salary increased to $7 million through 2021
Wow, I guess I was wrong for expecting $4 million to get us more than a 6-6 season.
Harbaugh’s $7 million annual contract ranked second among coaches in 2015, trailing only Alabama’s Nick Saban, who earned $7.087 million.
Reason to be hopeful: the talent needed to win is likely on campus. Just gotta do it.
http://www.sbnation.com/college-football-recruiting/2016/8/18/12530108/ncaa-football-best-recruiters-2016
There you go. $4mil gets you a 6-6 season, but really nice recruiting rankings. So. There's that!
"The best running back is our safety (Johnathan) Ford. He is the best player to put at running back."
Although I could be quoting myself, that statement actually comes from Terry Henley, who apparently is faster than Usain Bolt.

here's the link I thought I had included in the previous post http://www.al.com/sports/index.ssf/2016/08/former_auburn_rb_terry_henley.html
I think Terry Henley is probably not a football expert.
Well, I don't think we can really know that until he races Bolt.
I think he'll beat Wayne Bolt handily.
Finally
Pittsburgh = Minnesota
only much better
So... Close to a flip. Wonder who will show up.
1796 - The year George Washington hit Alfred Honnybop in the head with a sack of acorns, leading to the invention of the printing press.
1797 - Lord Alfred posted a letter on the bulletin board of the local dry goods store asking for patent law advice. Due to general lack of response and/or incorrect advice, he was never credited with the invention of said printing press.
1798 - Jonathan Price and John Strother published a chart of the North Carolina coast. It was drawn, engraved, and printed in New Bern, NC.
1799 - Jonathan Price snaps off John Strother's thumb during a violent thumb-war match. Alfred Honnybop printed all about it on his printing press, but he had to pay Eli Whitney to do so since Eli had secured the printing press patent. Eli Whitney was an active visitor of a patent law advice bulletin board.
despite the lack of a thumb, John Strother still had a successful surveying career, primarily in western NC and then in TN. He also enlisted with Andrew Jackson's army during the Creek Indian War. Fort Strother in Alabama was named in his honor. Eventually, the loss of a thumb was more than he could bear and he died from depression in Alabama in 1816 while surveying the Indian boundary.
1801 - BOOOM! goes Hualālai. And it's been quiet ever since.
1802 - Thomas Jefferson says "That was a really good page turn, THT." He then uses his bulletin board skills and steals the printing press patent. The money provided by the patent should be enough to buy roughly 10% of all of North America within a year.
1803 - "These new bicycle contraptions will be the death of the printing press. America should invest heavily in bicycle shorts." - Thomas Jefferson
1804 - Pat Dye rides a bicycle through the Auburn area. His satchel has a hole in it causing several pounds of acorns to be scattered throughout Lee county.
