Substance! In fact, serious substance at the bottom of that photo.
She is lovely. Perhaps even more so today.
Thanks, JayG!
I was really worried there for a minute.
so what if the Rhode Islander signed with Georgia. Linebacker was our more pressing need. The fact that he was at Illinois is a bit concerning, but at least we've got another body there.
It is bothersome that we lost the OL to uga. I guess it was too much to ask for their recruiting to dip a little with the new staff.
FIRST!!!
It looks like I may have been wrong about the highest number that exists, THT. It is apparently 5000.
I get a definite "13 seconds" vibe out of Clemson:
http://espn.go.com/college-football/story/_/id/14784502/clemson-qb-deshaun-watson-davey-obrien-trophy-unfinished-business
Ripe for the pickin', I tell you. Auburn's gonna do a number on them.
al.com writer should have saved this declarative statement for Irony Day.
So there's no question that Malzahn's seat is getting hot in Auburn?
I just hope that number isn't "2" ... in our pants.
Penguins in 9th place. I really need to just give up all interest in sports.
You've always got maps, THT.
yes, indeed... and they are always winners.
I'm guessing that Norm is hiding from the law after breaking HABOTN earlier today with his careless posting. Or he's still trying to find where to BOOM!
Ha, Ha
I feel reborn. Thanks Jay!
Not sure THT knows, but I produced a movie in Bogota last spring/summer. The writer/producer of the film was Jenna Fisher's first husband James Gunn. Interesting guy.
"Interesting guy."
Makes me wonder if you're afraid someone might be reading this thread.
I always wonder how those Hollywood marriages work. There's so much outside pressure and their schedules are crazy. How many have functioning relationships? It's hard enough when you don't have all that baggage added to it.
BOOM!
Done, not necessarily well, but done.
I knew not, Jimmy. Bogota as in South America?! At one time, I thought I might like to visit Patagonia and Antarctica. Now, I just think how many maps a trip like that would cost.
someone just told me about this. There are so many weirdos in this world, I shouldn't be surprised. But this boggled my mind (I'll just stick to maps and family photos for the walls in our house). And what nutjob would think that grinding it up and swallowing it in a capsule is a good idea?
MJT uses essential oils, which is pretty much the same thing.
Why do you think all this stuff is a good idea, MJT?
Saw a count saying we're 199 days from the first Thursday of the college football season.
Have to say, I had a lot more anticipation last year. This year isn't quite "dread," but it's not exactly exciting either.
For the first time since 2010, I'm not counting the days.... til kickoff of the current year.
564 days until 2017 kickoff! WARRRRR EAGLE!!!
I have a feeling I'll be much more focused on hunting season in the Fall of '16.
bubbs, I think I can dread enough for both of us. In fact, if any other Hotties want me to dread the upcoming season on their behalf, just let me know. I'm a pretty talented and high capacity dreader.
You should sport dreadlocks.
If I'm not mistaken, dreadlocks require hair in a quantity I'm not capable of providing.
I strongly suspect James Gunn has seen Jenna naked and, well, I'm jealous.
THT: I actually thought of you down in Bogotoa. Believe it or not there was a antique map store one block from my hotel.
Jay: I listen to Jenna on the radio today tell a true story on my local pbs staion KCRW,

1:40 PM"
Well there aren't really any bad ideas when you think about it.
Hey Jay, I think you should sift through the 5000 comments of the previous thread and crown new front page quote. Jet's reign must come to an end.
@JayG It's a little known fact that James Gunn has never seen Jenna naked. His Puritanical ideas on intimacy were a major factor in their separation. Lee Kirk is the one you should be jealous of.
I'm a little surprised that so many people think Tim Cook should create a backdoor for iPhones. The extensive repercussions seem to out weigh the need in the current case as justified as it may be. Maybe that's just me.
Actually, Lee Kirk is legally blind.
I support the message that Jet needs to be replaced.
JayG didn't say he was jealous of a clear sighting. Lee Kirk sees Jenna like a 13 yr old watches the inbetween channels or Cinemax fuzz that his parents don't subscribe to.
563 days until 2017 kickoff! WARRRRR EAGLE!!!
Michael: check out these free Hi Res posters created by JPL that you can download and print.

Pretty sad that in the last 10 years, we've won fewer games than the likes of an almost death penalty Southern Cal, almost death penalty Penn State, Virginia Tech, West Virginia, and post-Vince Young Texas, amongst a host of others.
https://www.teamrankings.com/ncf/trends/win_trends/?range=yearly_since_2006
For the school that ranks 13th in all-time Div I-A wins, 25th place in the past 10 years is an unacceptable level of awfulness.
al least we are above Notre Dame
At least we have softball. 6-0, baby!
...until conference play. 5 of top 8 in rankings are SEC.
SEC! SEC! SEC! just doesn't seem to have the same energy.
new poll shows SEC dynasty disintegrating. Only 4 of top 10 now.

We beat a solid #15 UCF today. Don't know that it would change our poll position, but it sure wont hurt it.
Hey look. A bammer dating site: https://www.bamameetup.com/
I bet that place is a train wreck ... if the train had a freak show on it ... and tree poison.
wasting your time posting that url. I'm not about to go there. You know I'd rather be trepanned. Over. And. Over. Again.
tre-trepanned?
don't stop there. Duodecim-trepanned...or more.
trepan me 5001 times even.
Well, even if we did I think you'd exceed the upper IQ limits for that site.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=y_8hPcnGeCI
Having a strong sense of impending doom, I did not watch the last 12 minutes of the UNC debacle last night. Actually, I didn't watch the first 18 minutes, either.
Seems like someone was recently saying I should give up being a sports fan. All my teams stink.
Thank you Ticket Office, but I am not going to RSVP for A-Day tickets. I'm not sure what they'll report, but I'm guessing below 40,000 in attendance. I think the novelty has worn off.
It's going to be pretty slim for A-Day. No doubt.
Can you imagine what it'll be like when they roll JJ out there as QB? Boo-birds will be present.
Congrats, Verne. http://www.cbssports.com/collegefootball/eye-on-college-football/25487344/verne-lundquist-to-receive-sports-emmy-lifetime-achievement-award
Now you can HANG IT UP!
Who do you want to replace him? I sure hope they don't get a bammer. There's way too many of them in sports media.
I was kinda hoping we could just leave the position unfilled. Is that not an option?
It is if you have a remote.
I have a remote and I'm not afraid to use it.
Those JPL posters were awesome, Jimmy. They may not know how to put a man in space, but I guess they are good for something.
And bubbs, I dislike your post where you say Verne can hang it up now (even thought I like the part where he got an emmy).
campfiyah! I love H.
I'm logged in! go Pens,
Nice win
bubbs, don't pay attention to michael. Your post was all good. The , really made it an exceptional post.
Jimmy, my teams have stunk so much lately, Tar Heel Tiger and I could hardly believe we are Penguins fans after watching them tonight.
You're not the boss of me.
The decision from my parole hearing is coming up shortly. Since I'm the judge, I believe my odds on an early start to the weekend are favorable.
Sounds like you run that place like a Eurasian dictatorship.
What a week.
You're exactly right. It was a week.
I like to move for a continuance and have the defendant returned to HABOTN and served as the HABOTN butler for the weekend.
Well, sports fans, I just finished off too many servings of homemade Mexican rice, refried beans, and enchiladas. 2.0 cooks the best Mexican cuisine in town. And it ain't even close. There's plenty leftover so y'all are welcome to stop by and help yourself. I'm so stuffed I'm tempted to go all comatose, but I've got to get ready for some B&R chocolate chip ice cream in a wee bit.
mouth watering
Big game on NBC today
Pens got 2 points YEA!
Someone needs to spend more time coaching and less time car shopping
Someone is having a middle age crisis
I'd like to buy a new vehicle. 4x4 truck to be more precise. But, I don't NEED it currently so I won't be contributing to the economy in that regards any time soon.
Can someone explain to me why people are voting for Trump?
I feel like it's a sign that I'm losing touch with reality and/or logical thinking. Not that I ever had a very tight grip to begin with..

Bubbs, I can not
Just finished season 3 of Vikings. Hey Jimmy, tell your buddy that season 3 of Vikings was good. But between you and me, I was a little underwhelmed by the Ragnar scheme to close the season. Saw it coming from a mile away, so it wasn't as exhilarating at Season 2's ending. You don't have to tell him that part though.
Still a good season overall. **SPOILERS*** Favorite moments: The first Paris attack was phenomenal, and Ragnar's burial of Athelstan was genuinely moving.
Also Jimmy, tell your Vikings guy that MJT doesn't care about Wessex when Vikings aren't there.
on Trump: a lot of people are angry. I think Trump connects to them on a visceral level. He is angry and doesn't care what you think. That seems to be more important than substance to about 30% of Republicans.
I am shocked at his success. If he wins the nomination, I will vote third party. I guess the good part of this is that if he wins the nom, maybe evangelical Christianity will be able to divorce itself from the Republican party. It's always been weird to me that everyone at church shares the same stances on immigration, economics, healthcare, military, and countless other issues basically because the Republican party is the only place that supports a couple of moral issues that are important to evangelicals. Maybe this will help draw a line between evangelicalism and the Republican party, and a larger variety of views on different things will be acceptable at church.
This is second hand info, but I understood that the largest percentage of Evangelical votes went to Trump in SC(!). I think there's two problems here: 1. Rubio/Cruz are splitting the lion's share. 2. "Evangelical" is a big umbrella ... at least I hope that's how Trump got so many votes from them.
In the end, I was most likely voting 3rd party/write in anyway. But man ... I'm legit concerned if there's a Sanders/Trump ticket. Eurasia here I come!
Yeah, trump did well with "evangelical" voters... but it was still only 34%
http://fivethirtyeight.com/features/trumps-south-carolina-win-shows-evangelicals-arent-necessarily-voting-on-their-faith/
So even if we take self-identifying evangelicals at face value, you can see the political splintering of a group. A 10 second google search didn't yield results, but I wouldn't be surprised if his unfavorable rating among evangelicals was also around 34%.
Still, self identifying as "evangelical" doesn't mean everything. South Carolina is culturally evangelical. So your average hard drinking law breaking redneck who never attends church as well as mr straight-laced reads his Bible every day never say a curse-word church goer both will identify as evangelical, I would think.
I know zero people in my Sunday school class are pro-Trump. I think he is very unpopular within the true church. At least that's the impression I get from the Christian leaders i have heard comment on the subject (someone like Falwell doesn't count. He is a political leader who identifies as a Christian, not a Christian leader weighing in on politics).
Begs the question. How large a voter block is the true church?
I tend to agree with your previous post. The silver lining would might be that Trump could help crow bar Christian folks from their default association with the Rep party. I know that in my own circles I often see people confusing "conservative politics" with Christianity.
That Kalamazoo shooter had a 4.73 Uber rating.
I'm not sure why that's relevant, but I saw that reported.
There used to be a train book my parents would read me where the phrase "From Timbuktu to Kalamazoo" was repeated again and again and again. I love the book when I was little. I bought it when my kids were little and realized it is terrible.

DPRK_News: Milquetoast dunderhead "Jeb" Bush suspends US Presidential Campaign after withering rhetorical assault by intrepid scholar Donald Trump.
I know what y'all are waiting for...
Hillary Clinton is so dishonest and evil, I just can't believe she's going to be our next president. And I can't believe the democratic party is catering to her. Oh, did I mention she should be facing criminal charges instead of campaigning? Despite his goofy "pyramid scheme" I would have voted for Ben Carson. Instead, I will be voting for whoever runs against Hillary. I don't care if it's Trump, Sanders, or Dear Leader. Trump is messing everything up. We'll either be stuck with him as the Republican candidate, or he'll run as an independent and siphon off Republican votes. I don't see a good ending unless some miracle gets Hillary out of the race.
Right now I foresee the final ticket having 0 good options when it comes to Rep and Dem parties. As in, it concerns me that any of them will win. It's a bit frightening, but I also chalk some of that up to me getting old. Our political system is terribly inefficient by design. It's times like these that make me thankful for that. Whichever goober that gets in there can only do so much damage.
But whatever. This isn't my home. My hope doesn't rest in this fallen, messed up place.
1) Vikings; I LOVE the show, never miss an episode. Agree with MJT on a couple of particular points; I don't need to see anything in England if no Vikings are present, I thought the Athelstan ending was well done.
2) Politics; you likely know I tend towards the more Conservative line of thinking, you also likely know I'm a regular at my Southern Baptist Church. I don't mind talking with others in generalities but I don't typically discuss who will get my vote. However, I can tell you that of late I run across a fairly sizable section of fellow churchgoers who absolutely are Trump supporters. In general, I think that's more of a sense of frustration with the status quo than it is true and total support of him as a candidate. In that, I sometimes find some merit.
If only there was a forum which had its own thread where I could post this
http://www.latimes.com/travel/deals/la-trb-poop-panda-zoo-20160219-story.html
Well I certainly can't imagine a world where such a forum might exist. But, to paraphrase Wooderson, "It'd be a lot cooler if it did..."
What'd you do in Wooderson's cooler?
poop-filled coolers... Jimmy, I know I've seen that thread somewhere.
However, I think the point Jimmy was trying to make, immediately after the preceding political comments, is that our federal government functions like the digestive tract of a giant panda.
I post more frequently when at work than when on vacation. The only logical conclusion HAIRY WOODPECKER!* is that my vacations are too busy.
*he flew up to the suet post as I was typing. We went 10+ years between sightings in our yard up until about 1 year ago. They still are very infrequent visitors. Right now the platform feeder is carpeted with pine siskins.
http://throwboy.com/collections/shop/products/poop
There's a lot of woodpeckers that are black/white with a read head. Not sure I'd ever recognize a hairy woodpecker vs. one of the several others that look similar.
red head*
https://www.washingtonpost.com/news/worldviews/wp/2016/02/23/hitlers-mein-kampf-is-now-a-best-seller-in-germany/?tid=sm_tw
That's interesting, man. That's stinkin' interesting.
Hey THT, you seen any blue footed boobies lately?
Maybe some explanations: http://www.vox.com/2016/2/23/11099644/trump-support-authoritarianism
This was note worthy: "I did find one soft spot in Trump’s support. Regular, weekly church attendance — as measured by a standard Pew Research question included in my survey — predicted a statistically significant and substantive opposition to Trump."
That's interesting, and it does make a lot of sense.
However, I am always wary when I read something like this:
"For some time, I have studied authoritarian attitudes among Americans."
I once heard a teacher say to be be skeptical when someone presents their specific area or expertise/interest as the missing key to understanding a subject. People who spend a lot of time in one area tend to be able to see everything in the world through the lens of what they are an expert on. Not that it means a person like this is wrong, just that he will be prone to viewing authoritarianism as influential, whether it is or isn't.
I wonder what the four authoritarian questions are?
1. Does bama suck?
2. Is bama the worst school in the galaxy?
3. Should bama be swallowed up into the depths of Sheol?
4. Would the world be a better place if 3 happened?
bubbs, hairy and downy woodpeckers don't have red heads, although the males have a patch of red on the back of their neck. They look nearly identical, but are easily distinguished by their size. Occasionally, we'll see a woodpecker that looks a bit large for a downy, and we ask ourselves, "Is that a Hairy?". Of course, the answer is always no. If it's questionable, it's always a downy. When a Hairy shows up, we realize how much bigger it is and there is no mistaking it for a downy. The other woodpeckers are very easily distinguished. The red headed is the only one whose ENTIRE head is red. The red-bellied has red on top of head and back of neck and is fairly large (and actually has only a faint blush of red on the belly which one usually can't see). The pileated is a monster-sized woodpecker; they don't come to our feeders. We hear them but rarely ever see them. Why didn't someone stop me before I got carried away?
michael, my feet got pretty cold today, but I couldn't see their color because of my blue socks.
5. Is Nick Saban Hitler?
I think this is a little mean to the robot
https://youtu.be/rVlhMGQgDkY
@MJT That sentence and a couple others made me take the article with a grain of salt. For example: "Put simply, Trump won South Carolina because of the overwhelming, unyielding support of authoritarian voters." Pretty definitive statement for statistical correlation. That said, the argument makes more sense than anything else I've read (yet).
The questions: "There are four pairs of qualities, and people are asked which of each pair is most important for children to have: independence versus respect for elders, obedience versus self-reliance, curiosity versus good manners, being considerate versus being well-behaved. We observe how people answer these four questions – the four authoritarian answers, if you will, are respect, obedience, good manners, and being well-behaved. That’s how we measure authoritarianism."
Seeing those probably means I'm more "authoritarian" than I would have guessed (50%?). I suppose the trick is that those principles are given without context. Obedience to what/who? Well-behaved in what situation?
Anyway, it does seem rooted in statistical analysis despite what you label everything. I don't know that I give it tons of weight, but I've seen nothing else that explains things any better.
Here's the Q/A where I got those questions: http://www.zocalopublicsquare.org/2009/11/11/authoritarianism-in-america/politics-2/
Look, THT, all I know is that you and all your woodpeckers better stay away from my murder of crows.
BTW - The answer to all your questions is "yes."
Jimmy, if you ask me those guys learned their testing protocol from raising toddlers.
I scored 100% on my questions, and 50% on the authoritarian ones. I obviously know how to ask questions better than the authorities.
bubbs, your murder show up occasionally. 2.0 trained one of my grandpuppies (an untrainable dachshund) to go ballistic whenever a murder shows up near our feeders. They don't even get a nibble before my grandpuppy scares them away. She ignores all other birds except occasionally blue jays if they are noisy.
MrsTHT loves the police blotter in the local paper. I never read it until today, and only because an article about a golden-crowned kinglet ended up right next to the blotter. (Actually, I rarely read any part of the newspaper).
...a home on Highland Farm Road was entered, the sinks were plugged and the water left running and also knives stolen.
????????????????????????????????
So 2.0 has trained a dog of German heritage to be a bird racist? Interesting.
Auburn's Gus Malzahn meets with Baylor's Art Briles to talk football
Any chance they could swap places?
Here are some al.com comments. Sadly, I find it difficult to refute several points made by the fans of the evil-doer.
Maybe Briles was looking for some advice on how to run the dive play on 1st down and get some ideas about plays for 2nd and 9?
It all starts with the quarterback.
If your offense depends entirely on the perfect fit dual threat QB to run it, you're not much of an offensive guru.
The last "great qb" for his system couldn't even go to the nfl combine as a qb. Why would any aspiring qb want to play in his system?
He took a DB and coached him to QB the team to the NC final. VERY impressive.
And what did he do with legitimate 5* qb Jeremy Johnson? With a real coach, he would be leaving for the nfl this year.
I wont concede your last point, THT. I think JJ has the skill set, physically, of a 5*. But between the ears he's a 2*. I'm not sure any coach could fix that.
Now if you want to say Gus should have recognized the fact early on - I'll grant you that. Last season was a real pig in a poke. Oddly enough, I really hope Gus knew that before it got started. Because if he didn't know it ... dig the pit deeper, kids.

Dangit bubbs, obey your elders and concede!!!!!
Shut your pie hole, MJT! And stop deleting posts!
There was a typo in it. I hate typos as much as Donal Trump hates losers (and the Establishment and Muslims and "political correctness" and illegal immigrants and the Fox News lady and John McCain's war record and so on)
"Donal" probably thinks you're a typo.
MJT is so low energy
He should probably consider stop hanging around all those energy vampires. I bet that's his problem.
I'm about to delete all of my posts. That will make all of you look like crazy people talking to yourselves when internet archaeologists come upon this site 2000 years from now.
MJT is an imposter who can't properly align things which need to be aligned.
there is a 200+ mile long narrow red band of torrential rain aligned with our house right now. Can someone please move it about 5 miles east? The basement sump pumps are working overtime... until the power goes out. Please don't let that happen. I humbly beseech the King, Queen, and Master to realign this downpour and lightning. Maybe I should just ask Volcano Guy.
2.0 "We have Class 3 rapids on our patio"
Our patio is flat.
If the play-by-play ends, I'm bailing water in a pitch black basement. I suppose I should figure out what I'm going to bail it into.
We really need to re-engineer our downspouts and drainage pipes.
I would start with replacing that downspouts with awayspouts, THT.
that's a swell idea, bubbs. We lived here 10 years without any activation of the sump pumps. In the past 6 years it happens regularly with heavy rain. During the lull before the next red band hits, I wandered around the yard. In the woods where one away pipe terminates, the water was actually trying to flow INTO the pipe. Even a 2 watt bulb knows that isn't how it should work.
And the next torrent has begun.
OUCH!
Despite all of the athletic gifts, Coates wasn't quite up to speed with the NFL. Some of that had to do with his time in Auburn's offense.
"Sammie grew as the year went on," Steelers general manager Kevin Colbert said. "He had to make some changes into a more of a conventional offense and learn how to run more of a route tree than he was exposed to in some of the spread offenses they run in college."
I'm glad that article was written after NSD.
We are not an offense that will prep you for the NFL. That's a fact.
But we've already hashed out bammers talent pool. It would be crazy to think we can run the same style offense with lesser talent and get better results. And they're the guys we have to recruit against ... so ... I'm alright with the "gimmick" offense as long as it works. Too bad that condition isn't being met right now.
I really miss Bill Curry and Mike Shula.
Mike Shula ... a true Auburn man.
(I don't remember Bill)
At least we are not UTk, yeashh.
I just recently used Wells Fargo app for the first time to deposit a check. They send a regular unsecure email alerting me to what I did, including an image of the check, complete with the check writer's routing number and account number.
I've discussed this with 3 different people at Wells Fargo, none of whom perceive it as a problem. Their solution? I should drive to a bank or ATM to deposit the check. I've got a much better solution.
I bet UT boosters don't bank at Wells Fargo.
Wells Fargo is for Traitors
The stories I keep seeing about staff leaving and how 2017 recruits are interested in us is incongruous.
Who's the rube here? Do these staff members lack faith in Gus (and the genius that he is), or are the recruits that gullible?
How much water is in your house, THT? We never did get an update.
Actually, it was Tar Heel Tiger who was experiencing the flooding.
Typos happen, MJT. Shut up about it.
I concede.
Campire?
Spent the day driving to/from Virginia Beach in a cargo van. The wind blew me all over the road. I was a little late to the campfire, Jimmy, and I didn't bring any wood.
All we have are embers.
I think mjt is using embers as a code word. As a murder is to crows, embers is to mediocre quarterbacks.
Speaking of QBs, Gus has made an offer to a 5'11" QB whose throwing motion can't possibly be good, based on this one image
http://www.al.com/auburnfootball/index.ssf/2016/02/auburn_offers_nations_no_1_dua.html
Watched some of the highlight film. It's a long wind up on his throwing motion. No doubt. He does seem to be able to throw with some touch, though. The best you could hope for is a Tebow like QB. Develop into a heck of college player with no NFL future.
I had no idea that a wombat's poops are cube shaped
http://factually.gizmodo.com/wombat-poop-is-cube-shaped-1603606922
I'd be lying if I didn't tell you I was a little disappointed in your lack of fecal knowledge, Jimmy.
I'd be lying if I didn't tell you that I didn't know about bubbs's judgmental nature with regard to fecal knowledge and how he'd be lying if he didn't tell you he didn't get disappointed about it.
You cannot tell a lie if you don't tell anything at all. I'm not lying.
I'd be lying if I told a lie. I cannot tell a lie.
It's gonna be just me and the kids for most of the weekend. Things usually go pretty smoothly when it's just me and the crumb crunchers. Although, I always wonder about church. Do the wife's friends text her about how the kids look subpar? I mean, I ain't worried about half the stuff the wife worries about.
1. Clothed
2. Don't stink
.... Yeah. That's about it. If we check those two off, we're good to go. If you didn't brush your hair, or eat breakfast, or don't know how to match clothes - "sucks to your assmar!"
Bubbs and Norm have the same predicament this weekend.
Norm is out of pop-tarts, too?
I took my son to church a couple of weeks ago without his shoes. Walked through the halls in his "The Flash" socks.
I feel like wearing "The Flash" socks should require wearing nothing BUT "The Flash" socks.
It's just me and the "kids" and the grandpuppies this weekend. MrsTHT is at a conference in Asheville. 2.0 and I are trying not to talk ourselves into driving to Cincinnati tomorrow and back on Sunday night.
I'll take a wisdom of wombats and their smelly poops over a murder of crows any day, although I'd prefer just the wisdom. Michael, just think how much wombat poop you could stack in a cooler. It is definitely space efficient.
Speaking of coolers, MrsTHT took an empty one with her to Asheville. I'm not going to lie to you, I'll be disappointed if it comes back full of stacked wombat poop instead of Blue Bell ice cream.
Blue Bell containers come in round tubs, no? Maybe I should look into smuggling Panda poop through your BB tubs.
http://weeklyworldnews.com/headlines/45525/panda-poo-tea/
Not that I needed the NFL to tell me PB wasn't a premier back, but it does verify the notion: http://www.al.com/auburnfootball/index.ssf/2016/02/peyton_barber_falls_short_of_e.html
I sure hope he can perform in practices/games to a level that keeps him employed.
I'm afraid he may have taken a pay cut by leaving for the draft early.
Marco Rubio spoke to a packed house at Samford University's Wright Center on Saturday. An alumnus of the University of Florida, Rubio kicked off his speech by saying "Tuesday's an important day and thank you for greeting me despite the fact I am a Florida Gator." He then followed this statement saying "We all want to beat Auburn that's good, right?"
After a mixed response from the crowd Rubio quipped "Oh, there's Auburn here? See I learned a long time ago not to get involved in that fight."
and yet, he just did. What a twit. He won't ever get a vote from me.
Welp, I guess that leaves Kasich. Hope I don't find out he's a satanist or something between now and Tuesday.
MrsTHT will vote for Kasich in the primary and I'll vote for Ben Carson, assuming they are still running when the NC primary gets here.
For lunch today, thanks to MrsTHT's successful ice cream safari, I am going to have a bowl of Blue Bell Homemade Vanilla Ice Cream with Hershey's chocolate ̶f̶l̶a̶v̶o̶r̶e̶d̶ ̶h̶i̶g̶h̶ ̶f̶r̶u̶c̶t̶o̶s̶e̶ ̶c̶o̶r̶n̶ syrup.
For dessert, I am going to have made from scratch brownies (thanks to 2.0) topped with Blue Bell Homemade Vanilla Ice Cream and Hershey's chocolate ̶f̶l̶a̶v̶o̶r̶e̶d̶ ̶h̶i̶g̶h̶ ̶f̶r̶u̶c̶t̶o̶s̶e̶ ̶c̶o̶r̶n̶ syrup.
I have scheduled a coma for 2pm today.
Where'd she find all that scratch?
the chickens weren't hungry today.
Jimmy, are you watching Ducks and Kings? Pretty intense. The only logical explanation for why hockey is not the most popular sport in the country is rampant ignorance among our population. Well, that and college football.
Shoot I missed the game,
did you guys read this?
NFL legend Bart Starr was victim of 'brutal' secret Alabama hazing
http://www.al.com/sports/index.ssf/2016/02/nfl_legend_bart_starr_was_vict.html?hootPostID=f5f2c8b6823db651f21722e254dec796#incart_river_index
Finally putting in a garden this year. We have so many shade trees, there's not many places I can put it. I'm still not sure how well it will do with the amount of sun it will get. It's pretty small, but it will be enough to let the kids learn the process.
OUCH! AGAIN!
Shon Coleman said. "I come from an offense a lot of people say is a lot simpler than a pro-style offense. I've met with some coaches,we sit down and talk, get quizzed up a little bit. I can pick up on a lot of things quickly."
NFL Network analyst Mike Mayock said "You saw Greg Robinson come out of that offense who had more snaps and talent and he's still struggling to figure the NFL out"
all the ugly details here: http://www.al.com/auburnfootball/index.ssf/2016/02/shon_coleman_will_struggle_as_nfl_rookie_mike_mayock.html
Can y'all grow me some okra, bubbs?
I think the "unprepared for the NFL" stuff is way overblown. In college you are limited to what, something like 20 hours a week during your season to do football related activities? And then it's much less than that in the offseason. They are full time students who have to make good grades to play (even if the Bagman lines up other people do their work, that takes time to coordinate).
In the NFL, it's a full time job. If you've been there two years and still haven't learned the trade, it's time to point the blame somewhere else other than college scheme.
But some people (especially NFL affiliated peops) hate the spread offense and are willing to take every opportunity to be h8rs.
Mayock is a yankee and probably a closet bammer
You know who's not a bammer?
BEASLEY!!!BEASLEY!!!
Never forget: Mayock was fervently anti-Newton:
http://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/2011/02/10/mayock-on-newton-i-really-didnt-need-to-see-the-workout/
I wish I could make a living being as stupid as Mayock.
mjt: If you've been [in the NFL] two years and still haven't learned the trade, it's time to point the blame somewhere else other than college scheme.
The King of Eurasia's wisdom rivals that of another King that I read about in Sunday School.
I concur with the analysis of NFL preparedness. Sure, they might be behind the curve a bit the first year, but after that it's on them. Let's not forget that Robinson red shirted because he struggled with "college life" the first year. I suspect he may have a more difficult time than some picking up concepts.
Not sure about okra, THT. The space to production ratio is not great for a small garden. I'm probably sticking to 'maters, squash, peppers, cucumbers and carrots (the kids wont let go of wanting to try carrots - I have little hope for them).
Now if I had more space okra would most definitely be in the blue prints.
You know what I want to see? The "underwhelm" rate of NFL players from each college program. You could build a point system based on starts, stats, all pro/pro bowl appearances, all that junk, and then compare each player's career to the their draft position. The sample size would be too small to really mean anything, but it could still be an interesting exercise.
Anyway, I think that the underwhelm rate of Alabama offensive players would be worse than that of Auburn players in recent years (especially if we don't include receivers in the data set, which seems like a reasonable thing to do).
Yeah, if we're going to talk about the NFL over valuing players coming from a certain program, bammer should be at the top of the list. They always talk about how pro ready they are, then they struggle or look quite average.
The fact of the matter is, I would suspect there's little deviation between programs on the percentage of drafted players that are successful in the NFL. Programs like bammer that cheat their way to better recruiting classes will have more drafted than someone like Idaho, but I bet that's where the meaningful differences end.
The fact of the matter is, I HATE okra.
More for me and THT.
bubbs, you were making a very good point until you got around to asking, in a somewhat cryptic manner, about michael's bidness.
The goats in Idaho never underwhelm.
Never ask me about my business.
It was worth a shot.
I will only eat cornmeal encrusted panfried thinly sliced okra cooked at home by MrsTHT or 2.0. It is so yummy! Norm, you don't know what you're missing.
I don't eat okra coated with flour. And I obviously don't eat it boiled or pickled.
Something else I won't do?
Watch an al.com slideshow just to figure out who all the new hires are on AU staff.
al.com is so terrible I'm starting to wonder if they make it that way to be ironic.
well, if that's the case, they are 131 days early
You guys know I don't like Trump, but the media seem to be personally offended by him (maybe because they were wrong about him having a chance at the nomination?).
I keep seeing stories about how he's loved by white supremacists. Which may be valid, but it's clear that they're trying to pull the ol' guilt by association. "White supremacists are voting for Trump. If you vote for him, you're probably one too."
I don't think he is a white supremacist, but it doesn't seem like he minded being supported by them... which is pretty bad. I'm not buying his "bad earpiece" defense either. I think he will take votes from anywhere as long as it ends up with him getting power.
I am seeing a groundswell of anti-Trump sentiment on Facebook among my conservative friends. Hopefully between the KKK stuff and some of his other older comments that are getting played up, maybe it will be enough to knock him down in some primaries tomorrow.
I don't like Trump either, but at least he's not a twit like Rubio. The media will keep blasting out the Trump/white supremacist "connection" while ignoring the fact that Hillary should be in prison. I'm still dumbfounded that our country could have those two as the only choices for president.
551 days until kickoff! WARRRRRRRRRR EAGLE!!!
See I kinda feel that way, THT, but I can't figure out if that's because I'm getting older and grumpy or it's really that bad this time.
@MJT I think it's clear his only moral stand is that whatever is good for Donald Trump is good.
I don't think Marco Rubio knows what college football is:
"@bluestein Rubio in hot water: "They keep calling it the SEC primary. There’s some ACC schools in there. This is a Georgia Tech town, right?" #gapol"
@MJT I think it's clear his only moral stand is that whatever is good for Donald Trump is good
Trump apparently subscribes to the Hillary philosophy on morality.
I'm just going to watch as much hockey as I can between now and June. I just wish I wasn't too cheap to buy NHL Center Ice.
I wish I had a hockey team in Bham, again, so I could go watch it. The kids would love it.
Here I am, on a road again. There I am, on the stage. Here I go, playing star again. There I go,
turn the page
Nicely done.
