Yes, it's that time again

THT has alerted me to the fact you all are approaching 5,000 posts, which means it's time for a new thread. It would be my pleasure to create said new thread. Before I leave, however, I'd like to provide you a picture of the always-lovely Mariska Hargitay.
Have a nice day.

bubbs hits the nail on the head. For the hugely inflated salaries AU footbal coaches are getting these days, a mediocre record is inexcusable. We can get 6-6 for a whole lot less than $7 million. What irks me even more is all the buyout money for being a failure.

Wow! That was an extraordinary campfire last night. Lots of brilliant commentary. And the s'mores were tasty, too. You'd think by the time someone gets to college, they'd know that you don't throw short of first down in the middle of the field with no time outs and only 12 seconds on clock when snapped.... Or waste 20+ seconds getting lined up about 2 plays earlier. That's what poor ol' Herman Edwards has to work with.

2411 - proudly prime

I just new I should check for some sneaky poster while I was typing away.

We couldn't think of anything positive to say about the current state of AU football, so we didn't speak of it at all. We talked about the weather, college football attendance, the silly tv TOs during Stanford @ AzSU and, of course PENGUINS hockey.

I had trouble sleeping last night cause I was wondering about that. Always avoid Grade D pipes and Grade D eggs. I think our builder was a test market for Grade ZZ pipes :(

That had to be one of the best campfires ever! Or not.
Poor ol' App State lost QB on first series, lost Middle LB in 1st Qtr, and had two 2nd qtr turnovers that led to 14 points for which GA Southern's offense ate up a combined total of 15 seconds of game clock. One TO was on punt fair catch where defender, who barely missed the returner, waved his arm in returner's face (perhaps inadvertently) as he blew by an instant before ball arrived. I'm thinking that should have been a penalty for catch interference.

How 'bout them Penguins! 2-0 on their current road trip thanks to a 9-1 win at Calgary last night. NINE GOALS!

I bought way too much candy. The wife must have been stingy giving it away. I'll probably bring some to the font desk at work. People here will knock it out pretty quickly.

Penguins are itching to lose their fifth straight. They played so well for the first 30 minutes. Only 1 goal to show for it... and 3 posts. They should be up several goals. :( Defensive lapse and BOOM Ovechkis tie it 1-1. PREDS are on TV after this game. Go PREDS!

2459 - After a spectacular first year reign, the Blue Footed Boobies are given a lifetime contract to reign and reign and reign. It didn't take long for the subjects left footing the blue footed boobie's bill to realize that it had been nothing more than beginner's luck.

8:31 PM
Blogger Tar Heel Tiger said...

Pens played 50 minutes of great hockey. The 10 minutes of lousy hockey and their affinity for the posts instead of the net left them with their fifth straight loss. Meanwhile, Preds beat the E-Bro Avs, 4-1. Maybe I should become a full-time Preds fan?

2460 - Blue footed boobies reign rains more mediocrity upon us all. Several are eaten by hungry dogs.

I don't have a good answer for that. No one deserves 32 million for failure. I suspect his agent was smart enough to include, and AU reps dumb enough to allow, a stipulation that he can't be required to clean toilets (i.e. the animal "toilets" at the vet school) as his full time work at AU.

It worked with Stidham for one year. Based on Stidham and Nick Marshall, transfer QBs may have an expiration date.

I got no clue on Stidham next year. I have a hard time seeing him in the NFL, but maybe scouts have seen enough out of him when he wasn't scared of getting sacked to draft him in the mid to later rounds. It'd be super weird if he grad transfers, but maybe his relationship with Gus/Chip is just that bad.

NCSU beat those same teams by a combined 79 points
I'll give State 4 points for home court and predict 78-71. I hope AU destroys them and answers my query about why State isn't ranked.

Not that it matters in the game next week, but NCSU ranks 106th in home winning percentage in the current arena (i.e. since 1999)

I'm still reeling from my PREDS overtime loss last night. I didn't even know the Columbus Blue Jackets were a team until I checked last night's scores a couple of minutes ago. Come on, PREDS!

Don't know how anyone could expect my PREDS to play well so soon after that overtime loss last Thursday. It's a crime the NHL didn't reschedule yesterday's game. So much anti-PREDS stuff from the league office, don't get my started. I mean it's hard when you have to battle your opponent and the NHL as well. I'm not complaining, I'm just stating facts. But whatever.

GO PREDS!

I'm so nervous about my PREDS game against Washington tonight that I'm about to throw up.

tap tap.... tap tap.... is this thing on?

Busy busy busy busy lately.

michael, you singlehandedly have guaranteed the survival of Hv1.0. Well done.

I'm not sure what I think about 'Canes 6, PREDS 3, but I have no such ambivalence tonight. GO PREDS!!!!!!

2600 - floopenhooofen continues unabated as all resources to combat that scourge on society were redirected to prevent the inland spread of Spanish moss

Preds lower the BOOOOOOM tonight, crushing the Ovechkis and achieving their first page flip in franchise history.

2601 - NHL awards a franchise to D.C., their first since the Capitals folded following a devasting loss to the PREDS nearly 600 years ago.

Man, I've been busy. Work and kids bball, work and kids bball, work and kids bball. that's about all there is this month.

And of course there's also my PREDS!

2603 - The National Stinky Hockey League files for bankruptcy. It was a good run, though.
