News of the day, 11/19
Hey everybody. It's Tuesday, uh, Monday with Tuberville. Auburn moved its weekly press conference to Monday this week for some reason. I don't know why. I don't care. Alls I know is this allows me to get an early start on Iron Bowl stories.
And in the end, you know, it's all about me.
My guess is that this is a Red Elephant Club-free zone. Either way, it's the HOTTEST Auburn blog on the 'net.
Tuberville said a lot of gobbly-gook (and a few interesting things) at his weekly presser today. Because of the various literary enterprises I'm being asked to produce for our fine newspaper product, I'm not going to give you the blow-by-blow account I usually provide.
The highlight:
On his future ... ``I love Auburn. I love the Auburn people," Tuberville said. ``They've done a lot for me and I hope we've done a lot for them. We're going to be at Auburn as long as they want us here. We're fired up about that."
Comments? Questions? Either post a comment or e-mail me at: jgtate@gannett.com

Hey Jay,
What is going on with TIm Gayles blog on the tide. I went over there just to see what he had to say about the loss and there is hardly anything there????HMMMMMMM is there nothing to write about?
"We'll sit down next week and visit," said Tuberville. "As I told them, I love Auburn. I love the Auburn people. They've done a lot for me and I hope we've done a lot for them. We're going to be at Auburn as long as they want us here. We're fired up about that."
Well???
I'll take these one at a time.
T.G. does one heck of a job with our Alabama coverage, but isn't real into blogs. I'm sure he'd have the HOTTEST Alabama blog on the 'net if he were so inclined. Alabama is a different world, peeps.
As far as the Tuberville quote ... do you want me to verify it or spell check it or what?
Jay --
I think maybe anonymous #2 was looking for your "reading the tea leaves" of CTT's remarks." I'd be interested, anyway.
On another note: Kudos for your conduct re: McCready's sacking by WNSP. As a journalism graduate myself, I always appreciated his non-homer status. Heck, he's an Ole Miss grad; that's built-in objectivity in Alabama. And I like radio guys who "hate everyone equally."
You did the right thing.
What has happened to our offensive innovation from the 04 and 05 seasons. In 04 we obvously had a wealth of talent in the backfield and one of the top offenses in the conference but in 05 after losing that we were yet again at the top in the conference but the last two years have looked completely different. Has Borges lost some authority in his play calling (via tubberville) seems like something is going on here.
There have been glimpses of innovation in the offense at times but it always defaults back to quick slant, tate left and tate right.
i know things usually seem worse than they really are when you are losing and better than they really are when you are winning but our offensive incompetance is a bit perplexing.
any insight?
what about the future of borges?
I'm currently of the opinion that Tuberville will stay. I change views on that daily.
As far as offensive innovation, I don't have a good answer. I don't understand it. This is the same Al Borges who was running all that neat stuff in 04 and 05.
Al's future? My guess is that he finds another job during the offseason. I haven't been told that. It's just a sense.
Jed and Isaac just bombed on you, holder and bilbo on air....
Larry Holder (of the Biloxi Sun-Herald) and Glenn Guilbeau (of Gannett Louisiana) also elected to break ties with the show while on the air recently.
I understand that David Wasson (of the Tuscaloosa News) also has broken ties with the show.
A lot of people are upset about WNSP's awkward "editorial" decisions lately. It's not just me.
yea me included, i was most shocked though by Isaac and Jeds on air comments today about yourself and the others "classless", "scum", :i thought we were friends" where comments made by the two of them ..... it seemed to me from reading between the lines that Isaac was pretty upset about the way things were handled with Neal as well, obviously thats not the case.
