Seeking Saturday suggestions
Alright you all. It's time for you to give me some ideas.
How should we handle game days around here? Do you all plan to check the HABOTN during the game? I used to kinda blog as important things happen, but I was never sure how many of you all were coming here while the game was in progress.
Maybe a "Here's What We Learned" kind of recap afterward?
My players of the game?
Live blogging?
I've also thought about letting a few HOTTIES provide a "highs and lows" assessment we all could discuss on Sundays and Mondays. Is that even remotely interesting?
I don't know what's best when it comes to HABOTN + games. I really don't.

Don't bother with live blogging Jay. We are most likely going to be watching or listening live anyway. How about a round up of highlights/lowlights, and your opinions of the game?
If you want to blog live I'm game. But I don't want you doing something that's counterproductive to your best interests. It would be interesting to here some inside takes that may be gathered during the game. I think would be very unique and also useful.
I don't know who here surfs the net via a mobile device but I do and it would be cool to see updates during the game that you just can't get on TV or radio. I'm talking in the stadium and/or at home or at a restaurant/bar setting.
I also like the post game takes from the Hotties.
I am planning to produce a video before the game for you out-of-towners to take in the atmosphere.
I'll hit Tiger Walk, some of the tailgating, any activity on the field, etc.
I'll be in attendance at the home games and wouldn't use live updates, but live blogging at road games would be nice, esp. stuff we can't catch via TV like crowd noise, AU fan turnout, sideline atmosphere, etc.
I'm sure you will come up with something creative and interesting. Do it like you feel it.
But, I was thinking some kind of "Being John Malkovich" kind of thingie.
Being Jay G Tate - an auburn game experience as a reporter
I plan to check out the HABOTN from the stands on my iphone. I would love a live blog post if there are any injuries during the games. I always sit there wondering what the scoop is on a hurt player.
I wouldn't be interested in a play by play format but would agree that any info not provided through more traditional media sources would be great such as the latest injury info or any sound bites overheard from the sidelines etc.
I'd skip live blogging. Most of us will be watching the game. The only time I'd be interested in live commentary would be if 1) there's an on-field injury and nobody knows what is happening or 2) there's a questionable call and nobody knows why it was made. In both of those cases, I'd assume that you wouldn't be able to offer much more than the radio or TV announcers.
A wrap-up is good.
i'll be listening online via auburntigers.com. we have comcast up here tv/web so i can't get gameplan to watch it. sucks.
i like the suggestion of commentary that's diff from what you hear/see on tv. i'm sure it'll be HOT.
OK. I'll just post some basic updates ... and I'll get injury information up asap. We get it before TV does in many cases.
I'll bang out a round-up afterward. The thing is: I'll have to write the newspaper stuff first. I'm covering this game solo, so the paper gets nada if I don't produce.
The final blog update may not come until midnight. Or later.
Live blogging during the game would be greatly appreciated since I don't live in AL. I have no radio carrying it here (in the land of the Gators). I was able to get the games last year on Sirius but you know that story.
I do know that story.
We need programming consolidation now!
Personally, I see no reason to waste your time live blogging. Most of us will be listening to or watching the game while it's being played. Comments and key plays and stuff like that will be cool to discus after the game though for sure as well as player evaluations/grading and stuff like that. Maybe grading how the def, off, sp teams played that game as well as particular coaching/play calling decisions. Could be very interesting, just as long as too many Bammers don't infiltrate the site and tale it over with futile in-state bickering and talk of Julio for President! LOL!!
Jay,
I don't like the live blogging, i think the after the game recap is the way to go. Give your impressions and ask for our opinion.
Personally i like the the live blogging. It's cool to go back and look at what your thoughts were during a game. For instance, during the chicken bowl: "Pat Sims is playing really well. I bet he goes pro early." The quote is not word for word but you called it before anybody.
Of course i want the final recap as well, but that's because i'm greedy when it comes to (free) Auburn discussion.
Yeah Jay, no need to blog during the game. Eat more burgers!
I don't eat burgers, so that'll be easy.
Thanks for all the (legit) feedback.
I'm going to seek a happy medium here. I won't do a thick live blog, but I'll throw out impressions as they come along ... like a Twitter feed?
If you want to know something, some statistic or whatever, I'll be checking the blog nonstop. You know what to do.
Have sex?
