Ramsey planning to return, but where?

Hey everyone. A trusted source in Mississippi told me a few days back that Chaz Ramsey, Auburn's injured offensive guard, was planning to resume his career at Auburn after all.

You may remember that Ramsey asked for a release before the 2008 season began. That request was granted, though former coach Tommy Tuberville said Ramsey was welcome to return.

So is Ramsey staying put? He's not saying.

"I'm still looking at my options and thinking about it," he said Friday afternoon. ``I'm enrolled at Auburn. I haven't talked to (Gene) Chizik or anything. We'll just have to see."

Ramsey started 10 games as a freshman in 2007. A back injury suffered during spring drills eventually led to surgery. He didn't play this season.

Considering how useful he was as a freshman, why not take a chance? That's a better risk than playing some untested and unrated guy in that slot.

I have something interesting to tell you about.... today in the Mobile Press Register i noticed a retraction that was written in the news paper that went as such when Evan Woodberry was reporting on the Fact that yesterday "Neil Calloway was contacted by Auburn about the OC position and he said he was staying at UAB"

today a retraction was printed the he inadvertinally left out the word "not".....i wote him a scathing email of how it was too late to print a retraction as the cat was out the bag and that statement as originally printed was taken in a totally different context!

I pretty much told him the NP in Alabama always seams to slant towards UAT because it generally incresase readship when UAT is doing well or having positive press......; 8:01 PM

As soon as the error was brought to my attention, I posted a blog about it, got the articles corrected online and then wrote a correction for the print edition.

I was at the Auburn basketball game when I saw the B'ham News blog post about Callaway, so I quickly wrote up a paragraph to tack onto the bottom of my story. I simply dropped a word in my haste. It was certainly not an intentional error.

I can't speak for the statewide media, but I'm convinced that the coverage in the Press-Register and Huntsville Times is fair and thorough.
