... and so recruiting begins anew
MONDAY AFTERNOON
Post No. 1,048
Hey everyone. Our friends at AuburnSports.com are reporting that the Tigers already are making offers for Class of 2010 prospects. Remember how we all wondered why Auburn signed DT Josh Jackson out of Gainesville (Ga.) High on NSD?
Here's an answer: Gainesville is home to top-rated junior wideout Tai-ler ("Tyler") Jones.
I particularly liked this quote from GHS assistant coach Todd Wofford:

Here's an answer: Gainesville is home to top-rated junior wideout Tai-ler ("Tyler") Jones.
I particularly liked this quote from GHS assistant coach Todd Wofford:
"(Jones) said he knows they are going to need guys in that offense. He said that he knows they are going to need 6-7 receivers," Wofford said. "He said that Trooper asked him who was the biggest-named Auburn receiver he knew. Tai-ler said he didn't know any. Trooper said that's what he wanted to change."

Sounds good...
Shameless repost from last thread...
I'm excited about AU baseball this spring. To me, Plainsman Park is the nicest venue in the SEC.
Mr. Jay G., Can you shed a little light on the probable starting rotation and tell us what to expect?
Deux
Delta Force Z already workin' on 2010!
And it doesn't involve a long-snapper.
Quotes like that get me excited.
j-z: Rotation is Grant Dayton, Paul Burnside and ... someone else.
In all seriousness signing a kid just to get his friend is dangerous.
Alabama did it with some LB that was big buds with Tebow. That worked out well.
The kid hasn't even sniffed the field.
Auburn will score many runs, will surrender more.
Final record prediction: 30-25ish, 12-18 in the league.
It's difficult to judge because Pawlowski is new and nobody really knows what to expect.
I think Rocker liked Josh Jackson to some degree.
My shameless post from last thread:
Things I have ALREADY checked off my bucket list
1. Saw Andre Agassi play his final match at the U.S. Open
2. 1989 Iron Bowl in Auburn
3. visited St. Andrews - didn't play, not a golfer
4. Game at Fenway. Saw my buddy Oriole Gregg Olson give up the game winning homer.
5. Saw the Rangers at MSG - Beezer in net
6. Every home game (and some away) of Bo Jackson's career
7. Auburn football team wearing Orange jerseys 3 TIMES.
8. Practice round at Augusta.
9. Dinner with A.J. Burnett
10. Played a fantasy hockey game on the Predators home ice
BOOM...Super Trooper with the sales pitch.
Aubie ... did the fantasy hockey game involve "electric ho-wear?"
I might have an idea for a Valentine's gift.
Gov,
Snakeskin goalie cup and stick wax.
From what I read, it seemed Rocker like Jackson as a DT project. The relationship they're able to build with the HS coach and other players from the school as a result of signing the kid is a good bonus.
I like the quote as well. It's true and should be a good selling point. Maybe they'll use that pickup line on the Richardson kid from Springville (I think that's the right town). If we weren't rabid fans, none of us would have a clue who AU's receivers were either. Hopefully with proper coaching Trooper can put one or two of them on at least a regional map.
i'm allergic to stick wax...
Actually, DMiller, I am trying to forget some of our receivers.
Jay GT - from prior thread. THTjr is a HUGE West Ham fan. THT, not so much. I don't watch wrestling, and I don't watch that other fake sport, soccer.
J-Z/Jay G ...
I thought the rotation was going to be Burnside, Mudslide and Freefall.
We have receivers?
Aubie and Guvnuh - get a room
Maybe this guy knows an OL he can reccomend...
FSJ,
The staff at UAT were clowns for ever thinking they had a legitimate shot at Tebow. Even more so clowns for thinking bringing in his BFF to Tuscaloosa would lock Tebow up for the Tide. It seriously seemed like everyone in America knew Tebow was going to UF (where both his parents graduated, where he grew up pulling for, where most experts projected him going and was the instate school). Mike Shula was a doofus and showed it in no finer light than when everyone laughed at him for passing on Chris Smelley for a nochance shot at Tebow
You know this kid is good...any player with a space, dash-hyphen, or a postraphy (how do you spell that) ' in their name can play!
JD ...
You're right. Tebow's interest in Alabama was strictly made for TV. There wouldn't be any reason for a television show on the recruitment of the Chosen One if there wasn't a second suitor.
I hate to say I missed that initially, but I figured it out about three days after signing day.
hola hotties,
agree about the receivers, rod smith was our best and he was a walk on correct? thats not the best sign.
that didn't use to be the case though.
Do recruits really fall for corny lines like that? I guess that's the kind of BS that $aban spews, so we have to do the same?
The question/statement by Trooper is true, but if I'm a recruit, I'm wondering why the coach is blatently throwing all of the existing players under the bus.
I am one of the largest critics of our WRs and WR coaching over the past 3 seasons and recognize that we need improvement, but this message could have been presented without the silly macho bravado.
thats what kids get pumped up about though. i promise that kid did not think one thing about Trooper "throwing the other receivers under the bus".
that sales pitch will carry even more weight after next year, when jones has heard the names of our receivers because of our offense (i hope)
Hoopie, I am with you on a lot of things, but I think being honest with recruits is really important. And as bad as it might sound, Trooper's assessment is honest. What is he supposed to say? The receivers we have are awesome, we can't quite explain why they are not doing so well? Because then a recruit thinks, "OK, this is where good receivers go to die."
I think he was just being real with a recruit.
I also don't think that statement is throwing the current guys under the bus. They still have a chance to make names for themselves. It's on them.
It's HABOTN Puppet Hour. Roll call! Where's Harrison? THT? gatiger? Jet?
Dear Leader,
I haven't paid any attn to national news today. Re: your Friday post... Am I now $12,000 more in debt thanks to our wonderful gov't that knows what's best for me?
I'm too scared to look.
Bailouts piss me off.
I think it more in line with throwing the former WR coach under the bus than the current players.
I bet if you ask the current players if they thought they had accomplished enough at AU for them to be household names they would all say "Hel-ck No (sir)!"

Boom! I called the gainesville pipeline :)
Sorry Michael. crazy busy day at work. although i may post for puppet hour. I'm pretty sure it was apuppet that crashed our system and caused us extra work
does anyone know if there is a place to get Auburn football jerseys with any number on them or are there only certain number that Auburn allows to be released at one time?
Alright my alma mater, Gainesville High School is getting some HABOTN love! Last years team was very good. They lost to Carver but would have won State had the QB not been dealing with "girl problems" before that game. He is the glue to that team so I'd watch for him on our 2010 prospect list as well. He may be too short for a college QB but could be a pretty good WR or RB.
On a more serious note Jay, I have learned of some allegations of Hotties on your team using performance-enhancing drugs. I will be naming the list of suspected offenders in my new book Shadow Blogging: Wild Times, Rampant 'Roids, Smash Page Hits, and How HABOTN Got Big
Big cat
you have to make sure you include the term "tell all" before the word book. those two words will double sales at the least.
chelsea canned scolari today. i guess the premiere league and american (college and pro) football have a lot in common in terms of demanding wins from coaches.
I, for one, want nothing to do with a QB that can't focus on the championship game because of some chick.
scott, I know what those words are, but the way you arranged them made no sense to me.
was it because of a chick? or he was having chick problems....like cramps?
So if you guys all heard that I was taking performance enhancing drugs during the majority of my time posting here, would you think any differently of me?
yes, Michael, I'd call you a cheat
the guy coached a world cup champ and took another to the championship final--kind of like denver firing their head coach, or tubs being run off.
then I'd tell you to keep taking them, cause your posts are the most interesting, or they're just weird. I'm not sure which. Or maybe both.
Alright guys, I know this may keep me out of the Ring of Fire permanently, but I have been taking human growth hormone and eating a lot of shrimp to improve my posting abilities. Look, I am not aware of any HABOTN stance on such activities, so judge me however you will, but I got no regrets.
If you ain't cheatin', you ain't tryin'.
I'll bet Jim Henson did roids. All the more reason to hate that man.
Fine I pump testosterone in my veins.
unsnapped his skull cap and between his ears I saw a gap but figured he'd be all right.
Yep, Michael. Every time.
I'm just addicted to crack...
No roids here....
types of people that would have used roids if they were in A-Rods position:
People that fudge donations on their taxes
People that cheat on tests (80% of high school and college students fall into this at one time or another)
People that tell white lies
...keep em' coming.
The saddest thing about this whole A-Rod thing is that now he won't be loved by fans and media as much as he was.
lol michael..
That is gold...
One can never eat too many shrimp. You know, there is a way to hide the shrimp from any blood/urine test.
Supposedly scraping the poop out of the back of the shrimp makes it undetectable to most modern urine tests.
Mchiel, I'm not sure what to think about your confession...Now I'm wondering whether it was you being that funny or just the roids talking all this time...
whoa, your on to the same secret. that's scary
but not as scary as my misuse of the word "your"
Roids don't help me be funny, Krisntina. Being funny is all hand-eye coordination. Roids would help with that zero.
I'm not here to talk about the past.
sounds more like the crustaceans talking.
That's why they called me the Crustacean Sensation back in high school.
and all this time we thought it was because of the crabs
AUNugget it was because of a chick! He apparently thought he had her pregnant and was going to try to walk the adult role of marring. Then at the last minute found out that the baby was not his. That did what no defense all year could do to him.
By the way, the book will definately be a "tell all" and Michael is the first to get outted! No way he's putting up that many witty blogs without performance enhancers. Especially with a new baby too...you're going down Michael! Kiss that HABOTN signing bonus goodbye.
ooh, AUBigCat... I can't wait for you to tell us what Jet's been putting in his coffee.
This comment has been removed by the author.
Is it true that the new staff pulled the 2010 kicker's offer?
I better still get that HABOTN bonus. I was planning on getting some plastic surgery done with it. I plan on going in and saying, "Make me look like 1981 John Travolta." The signing bonus should be able to cover that and maybe a summer membership to the water park.
Big Cat = Jose Canseco?
Dont worry THT I'm bringing them all down. They're ruining the blogging game for everyone!
Scott from Tucson: NO JOKE.
Chelsea basically ran Mourinho for doing a great job. Now they run Scolari for doing a pretty good job.
Fire, fire, fire.
Here's an idea: Maybe buying every available superstar isn't the way to win championships.
So Mhileca, who was your dealer then? Or does Big Cat know?
As HABOTN team physician, medical ethics, not to mention all those HIPAA laws, prevent me from discussing any Hottie treatment, performing enhancing or otherwise, with AUBigCat.
Just wanted to get that out there before the law suits started piling up.
Kristina you know there is a "Doctor" on the blog these days *ahem*
And his posts have seemed a bit juiced lately
Christina, Publix supplied me with the shrimp. I have been getting the human growth hormone from a bum I pass on the way home from work every day. It tastes a lot like rotten mayonnaise, but you can't argue with results.
I spilled some carrot juice in the keyboard
Big Cat....you are definitely on to something there.
A-Rod looks like an orange fake bake guido in his interview with Gammons
Chad Glasgow of TCU and Chris Vaughn of OM are rumored to fill final 2 spots. We all know how much rumors are worth. If those are indeed the picks that would be solid. Should be announced late next week if true. WDE
Important health care terms
HIPAA = Where I get my 'roids shot
CO-PAY = When I go in on a 4-star offensive tackle with a friend.

Chris Vaughn of Ole Miss got top 10recruiter of the year or somewere up there. per rivals...
Gov JET - you are behind on your Co-Pays
I will be turning your account over to a collection agency in hopes of remedying our OL situation.
Yeah Jet I knew you were juicin! His fingers are 3X the size they were when he first started blogging.
WOW
Turner Gill's squad finished 112th of 119th in recruiting. AWW man I wish we had this guy!!
Shut it Barkley. Shut it.
Dr. H ...
I've worked closely with the insurer to favorably resolve the matter.
I think we will be in better shape going forward.
it's the jumbo shrimp that cause the detection issues. stay with shrimpy shrimp.
I was just handed some bad news. Chuck and Heroes will be delayed for some speech from the Head Honcho.
it's just not right
In this day and age why can't they just broadcast that stuff on CNN/FoxNews type channels and leave the regular channels alone?
Michael....I was thinking that Trooper could have said that AU has experienced challenges getting WR production and are changing the Wr coaching techniques to improve such.
We feel that you, Mr. Jones can help to immediately lead and improve our WR corp into a NCAA leader.
Dis-sing the existing players(even though true), may motivate the WRs that are on campus to step it up. Depending on potential recruit mentalities, Trooper's ESPN-ready sound-byte, could be taken either way. Why gamble...say the same thing with diplomacy and keep all potential recruits in play. Cowboy-mentality sound-bytes will only attract cowboys.
Supper time!!! I'll catch up with y'all later.
WARRRRRRRRRRRR EAGLE to the greatest Auburn fans, the HABOTN Hotties!!!
Curtis Luper on Dunaway & Brown today
So there is an 2010 recruit named Pee Wee Cobb at Auburn High School. What a name.
I like Trooper Taylor.
Jhag, Turner Gill coaches at Buffalo. Bringing up his recruiting class is pointless.
Pee Wee is a Track and field guy too...His times in the State Champ were...
DB 6' 175lbs -
300 Hurdles: 40.85
110 Hurdles: 15.38
Long Jump: 21-04
He was top 10 in all 3
Thanks for that Curtis Luper link. He seems like a cool guy.
Hoopie - You dissing our current coaches is hurting our team.
100
barkley don't say its buffalo...they won the MAC championship they should have something to sell but they were 11th I dont cgive a damn where your program is that is awful.
Have y'all SEEN Tyrik Rollison film??????????? Good grief.
Yep, Monica, yep...he's one of those guys you can just put in the tape and you say "yes"
Hag - you see his status?
btw j-z, cool kicker on a stick logo.
Tyrik Rollisonis going to qualify...no doubt.
That's a bit relieving but I'll believe it when he does qualify.
They won the MAC championship? Are you serious? Man, I guess Bryce Brown and Reuben Randle missed the memo.
Buffalo is in one of the worst locations of the country, and every one of his recruits know he will be leaving any time now for a better opportunity. The fact that he didn't finish dead last is a miracle.
112th. You make no point what so ever. Enough
per espn.com:
"That sigh of relief you hear across Alabama is coming from the Auburn coaching staff. News broke today that Tyrik Rollison will qualify and attend his freshman year on the Plains. The source of this news was Rollison himself, who announced it by writing in his Facebook status, 'Tyrik Rollison is going to qualify...no doubt.'
Gene Chizik, the new head coach at Auburn, was excited to hear the news. 'There was some question as to whether or not he could get the test scores to qualify,' Chizik said. 'We are just so excited that Tyrik will be able to join the Auburn family this fall.'
When asked if he had any official confirmation on Rollison's eligibility, Chizik responded, 'No. But why would I need to? It's on his facebook status. That's good enough for me.' "
Tyrik Rollison Film
jhag, jhag, jhag....i like you, but trashing a guy's recruiting class who works at buffalo is something i just don't understand. put down the haterade
I don't think anyone is taking his FB status as some official announcement, Michael. I saw and felt a little bad for him. I'm sure he's tired of being asked, "are you going to qualify?!?!? are you? are you?" I see his status a response to all of that. Nothing more.
For what its worth:
"Auburn: We hear Ole Miss assistant Chris Vaughn will remain at Ole Miss after being courted by Auburn head coach Gene Chizik. The Tigers have yet to hire a secondary coach."
- footballscoop.com
i sure hope he qualifies after watching that video.
He's incredible.
Wow, I watched him level that LB 3 times...that was sweet
I'll take him over McCarron any day, even with the risk of him not qualifying.
Ok folks... wifey gets home tomorrow... it's cleanin time. Who's with me?
no seriously, I could use some help... somebody bring a vacuum, ours is on the fritz.
Same here Emmett. Ty is solid.
Miller - How much damage could you have done since Saturday????
His release looks quicker than I remembered. Can you imagine what a few years under Malzahn will do for him and our offense?
Does A-Roid have on pink lipstick in his interview with Gammons?
I think I heard that our Junior day is this weekend. There seems to be a lot of really good 2010prospects within a 60 mile radius of AU. I hope we get them all.
Mon.... I had high hopes of it being cleaner when she got home, than when she left... with me being sick last week, and her studying for tests... last week was not a good week for keeping the place spotless...
Little League baseball should take the place of Major League baseball.
D.Miller- if you're lucky, she'll still be hungover and won't notice.
there's not much to do... dishes and vacuum... but, i need to borrow a vacuum
Happy Birthday, Mobile!!!
D.Miller - if I lived in AL I'd be right over with a vacuum. Alas, I'm too sleepy to spend all night driving.
Just watched the Rollison video... his throwing motion looks a lot better on the run than set in the pocket. He throws off his back foot in every set throw.
Should be corrected at the next level, but we've heard that story before. Heckuva scrambler. I was surprised at his power running the ball. Let's hope he qualifies.
Barkley my bad man I was in a confortational mood No hate I am just glad we have Chizik and not TG
d. miller, our cleaning lady kept requesting vacuum cleaner after vacuum cleaner ("no, the hoover model 2450" or "the bissel model 1200" or whatever) ended up with 4 vacuum cleaners. she finally asked for a different model and i offered her a dust rag and a broom (no carpet in my house). she decided on one of my vacuum cleaners. gave two away, still have two. i'd send you one but fed ex is awfully pricey.
As for the Chiz versus TG, I think the jury is still out, but we really will never know. There is no real way to compare them. So far Chiz seems to have done pretty good other than the Willis chronicles.
These days, with all the moving around coaches do, how good a coach is is very dependent upon how well he is able to keep his staff together, which is one of my chief knocks on Tuberville. I think Borges was the type of OC that would have stayed for the long haul. Rhoads seemed similar.
We just had too many temporary coaches like Petrino, Muschamp, and the Chiz. Of course Gibbs hitting the road wasn't a bad thing. I wonder how we would have been if Lovett and can't recall the name had stayed.
Mon....Do you really think what I said was dis-sing the coach? Be honest. Also, if you think that dis-sing coaches hurts the team, why weren't you screaming about that lsst fall?
My first point was to question why today's recruits would gravitate toward that corny approach. The HS/NCAA athletes I know are primarily interested in remaining humble while winning. The Deon Sanders/ bravado approach doesn't sell advertising and attract $$$ anymore and savvy kids know it.
It's all good jhag.
Do you like Mafia Wars or Mob Wars better and why?
Of course you're dissing the coach, Hoopie. I'm not "screaming" about it now. I'm simply pointing out your hypocrisy.
mon, my favorite saying comes from the desk of one of my former professors, the great donald dodd: "an organized desk is the sign of a frightened mind." his desk was a mound of papers.
I like that, Scott. Also, I think it's more than a little odd that I knew a guy named Donnie Dodd in Brewton, Al. There can't be THAT many Don Dodd's in the world can there? I also know a guy named Adam Adam's, but that's another story.
According to a post earlier today, apostrophed names = great football players. Does Adam Adam's have any eligibility left?
Adam was a different kind of player.
What was wrong with what Trooper asked the kid? I didn't think he threw anyone under the bus. The recruit said he didn't know a receiver and Trooper told him that he could change that. Big deal.
I am with you barkley. I am not sure what else Troop could do. He couldn't exactly sell our history of developing wide receivers. Someone mentioned we are were good receivers go to disappear, and that is way to close to the truth. Yes, it will be completely different with the new staff, but you have to sell the opportunities for playing time.
Nothing at all wrong with what troop said, he asked him an question got an honest answer, and gave an honest response. peoples reading to much into little things
Mon...I went back and read my posts. I did not call the coach any names or accuse him of mal-intent like the rarely challenged venom that was present on this board last fall.
I simply questioned his approach and whether that works with today's young athletes, because the ones I know see right through and laff at that type bravado.
"Dis-sing the coach" ain't even close.
As long as a recruiter is honest with a kid, I have no problem with them. What troubles me is when recruiters tell kids they see them making it to the NFL. There is no way a college coach can judge whether a high school recruit will get to that level.
I hope we can all agree to stand by Chizik. Yes, there are things a coach could do that would make me turn against him, but I have never seen an Auburn coach go that far. I was even supportive of Bowden, even when the talent level went to pot. As for Barfield, I think he was much better than anybody gives him credit for. He has us improving, but he was also up against some of the best Bama teams of Bryant.
Hoopie, what was there to see through?
Hoopie - That was a dis. Period.
I never did expect you to agree with me, but today is Monday and I do my Futility Exercises on Monday.
Steve - You're just showing off with your "L" squared. How do you do that?
I'm in Chicago, and though there's snow and ice on the ground the weather is nice. Obama is a god here.
Scott from Tucson ... Dr. Dodd? When and where did you encounter him?
Off topic silly quetion..
I had all the politic crap muted. NBC went straight into Heroes. Did anyone happen to catch if/when Chuck will be shown?
Everyone Wake up!
Tai-ler plays for the Gainesville Red Elephants. Notice in the pic that Gainesville incorporates the UGA "G" on the jersey.
Many recruits see through those bravado type manipulative comments. Of course...some don't The insinuation was that "you can become the named AU WR that everyone remembers" (cue the chest pump).
Hoopie hundreds of schools do that with the G even down here in South Florida.
Steve....Since the initial typical teethnashing from the tub-hater naysayers, I really haven't seen any complaints. As you have stated many times.... Chiz is doing well considering the situation.
Jet...I don't think it's the same Dr. Dodd we knew.
Tyrik's fb video was set to music by my new favorite band...Swollen Members.
DMiller...if you wanna drive to Prattville, you can borrow my Dyson.
esteemed gov. jet, i had the great privilege of knowing dr. dodd ( from "the free state of winston county", monica) during my days at aum. i was a history major; he taught several of the classes i took whilst there. absolutely brilliant man, that one.
jhag....UGA copyrighted the "G" many years ago and got into a brief dispute with Green Bay over it. UGA seems to allow many HS teams to use the G.....smart move.
My HS uni was identical to Bama. I now don't own any dark pink.
yeah it is a smart move if you ask me
I, too, had the privilege of having Dr. Dodd -- minored in history there. Great teacher, and a very funny, intelligent man
Wow...it was the same Dr. Dodd. I had him for Am History. His attendance policy or lack thereof almost let me get myself into big trouble. He definitely had a great sense of humor. Who else did you have in the History dept. Scott? That was my minor.
I had Dr. Dodd too. He was a fav of mine as well.
I didn't have Dr. Dodd..
But then again I didn't go to school with y'all..
J-z,
I really appreciate the thought... if it was 7:30, I'd take you up... since it is 9:30, I'll take a rain check... my wife really wants one of those dyson's. Are they really all they're cracked up to be?
I decided to spend some time setting up a surprise for the mrs rather than doing the full bore cleaning... i think she'll appreciate this more.
Granted, I did clean... just didn't go so far as to wash the baseboards
I had a Dr. Dodd in college as well... can't remember what he taught though, some science class if i think...
I had Dr. Donnie Dodd, too. He was also one of my psych professors at Marshall.
*rim shot*
The Dysons are the Phillip Leutzenkirchens of the vacuum world.
The future Uncle Joe of Petticoat Jct fame, Edgar Buchanan, is guest starring on an early episode of The Andy Griffith Show on TV Land. I'm sure y'all wanted to know.
Speaking of Chuck being shown, the media reporter for the Baltimore Sun says Charles Barkley will be back on TNT after the NBA all-star game.
I'm sure glad I don't watch NBA.
I think the longer Oku waits, the worse for AU...just my opinion it could be the opposite but it seems that way.
jay g is MIA
Man, you kids started to have a little fun, and then it got quiet.
Just got my hands on the laptop ... but they've played "Taps."
Oh, well, see you kids tomorrow.
How does Texas have 10 commitments for 2010 already???
The girls in Austin are unreal
HAHA! So after Kiffen calls out Meyer for breaking rules (but, he didn't)... UT has to self-report recruiting violations. HAHA! Wow, could Kiffen look any worse right now?
j-z, i also had the late dr. john fair for several classes. he was also a favorite--he failed my father and questioned whether or not we were related in a very funny (and kind) note to my dad regarding his grade. I suspect i disappointed him when, instead of taking a prestigious summer internship with the london scholl of economics, i, instead, chose an internship with b'ham england school in stratford-upon-avon studying shakespeare. i think i had a much better time.
Good night Hotties!
SteveFC and/or Michael- I'm leaving it up to you night owls to carry it through till dawn.
meant "school"

Trooper may have said all those things. Unless Hoopie is privy to the entire conversation, all we have is this one little snippet in which to base our opinion.
tuesday
Tuesday, All Day.
Scott, Jet, J-Z - I too had a History Minor at AUGump. That being the case, I had DDD for several classes. Probably more than I needed because I liked him. As I recall, he was quite smart, oddball funny, and definitely quirky. I also remember he'd written some book on the plight of the lowly Naugha creature which are apparently bred solely for use in Naughahyde furniture. Anytime I went into his office to talk to him, I had to stand because the only seat not covered up by crap was his. Good times.
Ga Tiger, got your facebook request yesterday, but I haven't been able to log on and accept it, just FYI.
This just in...contrary to early reports and popular thought, Hoopie's s$%t does indeed stink.
Film at 11
This also just in...college coaches will say anything to get recruits they want.
I realize this comes a shock to many. I, myself, am mortified that coaches at Auburn would stoop to such levels.
On second though, 'BOUT FREAKIN' TIME! It's nice to see a coaching staff that at least has a pulse when it comes to recruiting. I now refer to the Tubs latter years as, "The Auburn Dead Zone."
Tub at his worst in the last couple of years was still worlds better than Bowden at recruiting.
Why are we so down on the baseball team? I think CJP is going to breathe some new life into this program and we're going to finish 15-15 in SEC play and make it to B'ham.
You heard it here first! wde
Dr. Dodd story ... if you didn't like a test grade, you could read another book for a test ... but beware, the tests were brutal. You could spend a lot time preparing for a test that would knock you to your knees. You got to keep the higher grade, but it was ALWAYS a major investment of time.
One time, he tossed me a book to read by an author very close to me. He said, "See how you like this one." I about choked. I read the book three times ... went over to the author's house to ask him several questions in preparation. I somehow made a 92 on the test.
Dr. Dodd and the author got a big kick out of it later. I don't remember enjoying the experience that well.
Jet - did you happen to also grow up with said author?
I also had classes with both of the Moody's, interesting... I was there in the days where smoking was still allowed inside the classrooms - BRUTAL!
Funny that we've all these AUM folks around...a friend of mine was actually SGA president @ AUM. Anyone actually a recent main campus grad?
what was that hateful little book dodd tested on? seems like the author was daniels. something like "studying history how and why". mind numbing exam...
Re: main campus grad...
recent relative to Aristotle? yes
funniest exam i ever took was for an art appreciation class. the adjucnt prof. dutifully taught the class but, at the end of the course, his final exam was written up by a bunch of prisoners he taught. matching questions like "i don't see nuthin but dots" (pointilism). there were some angry students that day. i got a kick out of it.
How does Texas have 10 commitments for 2010 already???
I told you all last year ... Will Muschamp said early commitments will be the new gig in college football. He is to be trusted on these matters.
Pointilism is cool. I think it's neat from far away you see a beautiful picture, but up close it's just dots or pixels, sort of like the TV I haven't yet bought.
