mother of god
That impressed?
(sorry, Shesaid I'm taking your line)
I wanna be his (Eltoro) baby mama.
Red Roof - lost his voice or what? He has an interesting look...meaning, it wouldn't take much makeup to make him look like a girl. Just sayin.
Jay I love these videos more than I know how to say!
Question: How do you feel about limited access to practice?
i like el toro!
jgt, any chance on a follow-up story on coach quick winning a nat'l championship/coach of year award. last i heard, the outlook was poor, coach marsh was on his way to be with his mentor. good story not really picked up by the msm.
Eltoro's biceps were bulging out of that white shirt...Jay could you attest to that?
Eltoro is ready to flatten some running backs. Trying not to get excited but I'm looking forward to seeing him get on the field.
And a question for micheal. Now that you are the King of Eurasia, are you going to resign your position as queen of the habotn?
Eltorooooooooooo! DO WORK!
Jay, what would be more dangerous, interviewing Eltoro while he is mad or interviewing an actual bull?
shesaid, i think we have the subject of our next tailgate t-shirt
By the beard of zeus!
Will, I don't understand your question, I was under the impression Freeman was a real bull.
I dig these videos and practice reports!
What time is practice tomorrow?
Practice is at 5, but we're allegedly getting players at 2 or 3.
My goal is to get a practice report and a video up asap. I can't stay for after-practice festivities. The Daughter has a soccer game and that comes before spring football practice.
Fall practice? That would be a tougher call.
love the vids let's us all know the players better.
wake, common mistake, real bulls are actually much smaller and less muscular. plus they have horns.
does a poached puppet go well with grits?
By the way I'm new here.I grew up in Athens,Al but now live in Sheridan, Wy and really enjoy Jay's reports. After all it's all about AU football.
Welcome Pado, Jay provides the best Auburn news that can be found anywhere on the intrawebs. Stick around, football season is alot of fun.
Check's in the mail, wake.
Wyoming ... that's a long way from here.
Yeah 24 and half hours to drive but I'm still planning on catching a home game this year.Didn't make any last year.
And very last in alphabetical order too. That means something, I'm sure.
It even comes after Uranus
That's only a 23.5 hour drive, or so I'm told by this short little green dude.
I enjoyed that article on the Malzahn offense linked a couple of threads ago. Any offense that is described with Spaceball quotes must be ausome.
"They gone plaid!"
Welcome Pado.
JGT, the family is expanding... I didn't even realize they had the interwebs in Wyoming...
Yeah, low unemployment.lol
D miller you'd be surprised what all they have here.Last night we picked up about 11in. of snow.
pado- my wife is from Athens, AL and I have been to Wyoming. how's that?
Harrison, small world but trust me i didn't have anything to do with it.
Harrison = pathological liar
I have never been to Wyoming, nor am I exactly certain of its location.
Will- I only lie to my wife and the cats.
Will you should be here every time Harrison is here. Work on that.
The western part of Wyoming is amazingly beautiful. The eastern part is fantastically dull.
Yellowstone whiskey makes you throw up alot
Drink too much and any of it will make you throw up
I like the new guy. He stays.
Mon, Ted Roof Rusted does kinda have that almost feminine look. It reminds me Steve Martin, in a way.
Is the song at the end the official HABOTN theme? I ask because it sounds like something on late-night cinemax.
That would explain a LOT.
Da... Bull Da Bull Da Bull Da Bull
Great 2 b and Auburn Tiger!
My first post on HABOTN. Enjoy those vids and look forward to many more posts.
Thanks Jay.
WAR EAGLE!
Mr. Tate,
If the opportunity arises, ask Eltoro how he feels about opposing mascots.
Probably somewhat like how the IUPUI mascot feels about his companion at Oral Roberts.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XI1HhlUsbG0
JZ good thinking. imagine what would happen if UGA tried to bite Eltoro...can you say punted out of the stadium?
I'd pay good money for a life-sized poster showing El Toro punting UGA.
Jet...easy Trigger. I didn't mention the PTB or the previous staff.
I'd pay for a life size poster of Eltoro leaping over the O-line, arriving the same time as the shotgun snap, hitting the UAT QB for the safety to take a 77-0 lead late in the third quarter.
I wear Oral Roberts gear fairly often.
My college suitemate is the team's head coach. I show support when I can.
I'm taking call-ins tonight.
I'm glad we can get names in the paper, but it's fantastically boring.
Jay, that is an interesting perspective on Stevens. I seem to recall Willis challenging him last fall to make the great play, not just the solid play. I always thought maybe he did things that us casual fans didn't realize. Maybe not.
Is it true Neil Caudle ran a faster 40 time then Kodi, or is someone hallucinating?
he does have 2 bionic knees
Yeah true..what am I thinking i don't believe that for a second
He ran for around 10 ypc his junior year, playing all but five games, and 51 yards on 6 carries his senior year...for the one game he played in.
JGT, hook me up with an ORU t-shirt...
Looking into this, he chose Auburn over LSU, Michigan, Miami...impressive
..scout has him running a 4.6 i dont know if you can put much stock into that though
He made the elite 11 camp along with Matt Stafford his sr year. He was a pretty big recruit.
According to the official internet, Caudle was the top football recruit in history.
Does Caudle have 1 year left or 2?
1 or 2 years left? You mean backup qb is a terminal condition???? Bless him.
Caudle has two years left.
Caudle was also ranked ahead of Sam Bradford by Rivals. Caudle was #7 Pro Style QB, Bradford was 14.
As Caudle was ranked ahead of Bradford, it proves once and for all that Caudle always has been and always will be a better quarterback than Bradford, despite whatever trophies or other accolades young Sam receives.
michael-i was thiking of going to the bbq cook-off thing at memphis in may. Worth the trip?
It's pretty clear then that Caudle would have won the Heisman last year if not for that Tony Franklin
Definitely worth the trip, unless you hate beer and barbecue.
I'm going to break some news right here.
I (probably) will not be attending A-Day. This is Wifey's call. She is demanding my presence at her best friend's wedding. She's the matron honor and that's a role that demands husbandly support.
We'll get Bag on the scene. I know he'll handle business in a capable manner.
I'll be there, everyone will look forward to what I have to say.
I had to go to a super-boring wedding with my wife this past weekend.
michael- i just happen to enjoy both of those things
Jay, maybe it' sa blessing in disguise. After all, the side you want to win the a-day game may lose, and you could avoid that emotional pain.
At least you get to hook up with one of the hot bride's maids...
Harrison, you can liveblog the a=day game via facebook or twitter!
This comment has been removed by the author.
I see wedding crashing in my future!
I think I will Michael. Now I have 2 weeks to figure out how to do it. Oh, and expand my vocabulary. And learn more about football.
will you be liveblogging the wedding or reception, jgt?
I am now determined to stop this wedding. I need names of all parties involved as well as names of all of their exes.
Harrison, I may need to reconsider my statement saying bbq fest is worth the trip. I myself have not traveled back for it since leaving the memph... just thought I should tell you that in the spirit of full disclosure. After all, I don't want you to get there and be all like, "this is it? screw michael my internet friend!" Because the more I think about it, there are cheaper ways to get beer and barbecue without subjecting yourself to the summer heat surrounded by shirtless hicks.
so there ya go.
"the mother of the bride totally clotheslined the bride 20 feet from the altar. this is getting ugly!"
I couldn't deal with a Blue win after all this time I've dedicated to chronicling White strategery.
Wifey pitched this concept a month ago and I was like: Yeah right. The tone of her requests have taken a more stern tone lately.
it's kind of a long shot anyway. I'd either have to talk my wife into going, or get a guy trip up and go. Drinking beer and eating in the summer heat with shirtless hicks describes most of my summer anyway
Ted Roof seems very very very very intense.
I like Eltoro Freeman.
I am still not sold on Kodi Burns.
Now, I need to watch Last of the Mohicans for the umpteenth time.
It's a good thing Cronkite had the cajones to tell his wife to go screw herself when she tried to get him to go to that wedding the night of the moon landing. Strong man.
friday, the wife and i watched a couple of back to back "airport" movies on amc. very funny to watch them. no wonder the airplane movies came out in order to mock them. very different time back then...
cronkite = ubermensch.

What is ape to man?
Scott, we were watching the "Airport 79: Concorde" movie as well. What a hunk of p00p that was.
Someone actually green-lighted that.
what is a gorrilla to Eltoro?
Eltoro is really fun to watch in an interview. Seems like he has the perfect personality to handle the media and make fans happy all at once.
I hope he turns out good and we get to hear more from him.
Monica wants Eltoro's baby? that kind of weird and wrong.
So, at this point it is still just a request and not a demand?
I say you're in the clear.
Great story on Wayne Bolt losing over 300 pounds...
Jay are Roof and Chizik very loud on the practice field? They both sound like midnight DJs on the Quiet Storm during these interviews.
I'm surprised by Roof. I've spoken with him privately a few times and he wasn't quiet like that. Maybe he was just tired after yelling for two hours on the field.
Ummm how good is the Justin Albert kid.... I think yall might want to take a look at these highlights...we may have a sleeper here.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Wa0DJpPYzfE
As someone who lost 100 pounds via revamped diet and exercise, I put an asterisk next to any weight-loss achievement that involves surgery.
He probably extended his life by a decade or more, which is great, though.
I've seen two videos of Roof now (one here and one on another unnamed Auburn blog) and he was like that in both. I thought it strange.
the boy who tackles shopping carts called me weird- sweet
jeeeez MonD =(
changed my mind...not gonna go there.
Ok...anybody for drinks?
I'm bartending
You got Killians on tap?
I'll take a 50-oz Newcastle on tap and an Allegra.
Day Glows are good girly drinks.
Kinda like a Pearl Diver.
Midori, Blue Curacao, Bacardi, Malibu, Pineapple Juice. Shake and pour. Garnish a maraschino cherry and pineapple wedge.
Turns out this really nice fluorescent green color and nice sweetness.
50-oz? You like warm beer, Jay G?
Just give me an IV of something wicked.
Gimme a Mothership Wit, pronto.
Having seen Justin Albert play in HS, I have to say he had mad skills at that level. He's kinda small, but a good kid and a hard worker. Very elusive and can turn on a dime at full speed.
I'll take a firefly with a bit of lemon on the rocks
i'll have a pitcher of screaming blue mf (we'll say the initials are for mario fannin here).
tequila, vodka, gin, rum, triple sec, blue curacao, cherries, lemons, limes, shot of sprite optional.
it is definitely a drink to be shared with friends.
then when they pass out take their wallets.
I'll take a couple shots of Maker's Mark
Count me in for an ice cold Bud.
And another for the Bull.
Denny....The cameras panned your way during one of the Louisville games. That was coupled with worthy comments from the announcers.
Prediction: JGeezy is gonna lose this one.
The HABOTN will survive during the ADay game without him...just barely.
Anyone else planning on attending? Perhaps we can collaborate on posting what we saw?
Jay, I think we need to cut a deal with your wife. You go to the reception... but we all come along. And we are bringing tv's with a live feed of the game. And you are going to give us play by play of the game as we watch.
Can you at least live blog teh wedding?
"Oh and the best man just told him to back out and run, you hate to see that happen"
jgt, since a-day is at least as important as the moon landing (per michael), explain to wifey that she has at least a 50% chance of participating in her friend's next wedding as it is statistically likely this one will end in divorce anyway. also, bear in mind, you may never have to attend another one of her friends' weddings as she is likely to divorce you if you present this argument to her. a true win win super double whammy!
Darn...everybody went to bed early tonight. I was just getting warmed up.
still here....kinda. bye.
Sigh....
maybe you could do an updated kicker on a stick with eltoro ripping apart a mascot in the background.

Monica said...Red Roof - He has an interesting look...meaning, it wouldn't take much makeup to make him look like a girl.
He sure wouldn't be a very attractive girl...Just sayin'.
Good morning, Hotties and Happy Tuesday! :-)
A Good Morning to all!!!
Another practice today - YES!
Tony Barnhart had a few comments about Gus Malzahn here.
The kitchen sink...hopefully they'll coming up for air sooner than later.
Wake up, Hotties (except for ehyou)! It's almost 7:30! Time to rise and shine!
Will, yes I think Eltoro will probably be a shirt contender. I'm really leaning toward making one though that says "NO DROPS!"
Good morning HOTTIES!! With football around it is time to stop lurkin and start chirpin.
El Toro is intense..I like when someone doesn't like no contact drills and needs to slow down.
What up hotties, I'm ready for Tuesday, bring on the practice report!
Chirp
AU1N04, hopefully, he doesn't turn out to be like Tray Blackmon...
Morning, Hotties!
Hope your day goes as swimmingly as the Auburn men's championship team.
I don't think Eltoro will end up like Tray Blackmon...His attitude just seems like it's in the right place.
Seanzie - I agree. It seems as though he has a chip on his shoulder and many may have asked him why he stuck with Auburn. I think he wants to prove many of his friends and x-teammates wrong.
One player no one is talking about and is probably our second highest rated player in this class is Demond Washington...Jay or others...any thoughts as to where he might play in the fall?
Seanzie, this is what Jay G had to say about him in Feb.:
TB/WR/DB/KR Demond Washington
5-9, 185, Tallassee HS (Tallassee)/Mississippi Gulf Coast C.C.
Washington is perhaps the most versatile player in this class. He played cornerback, tailback and wideout in junior college. Considering the Tigers' array of similar players clearly headed for offensive roles, Washington appears destined for defensive duty. He committed to Ole Miss initially. He changed that allegiance a week before Signing Day. Washington will be a special-teams candidate immediately. He has two years of eligibility remaining.
Calipari's gonna get over 4 million a year to coach at UK if the deal goes down. That BLOWS MY MIND!
The amount of money in college sports while the country is trillions of debt and Obama has proposed another multi-trillion dollar budget makes me SICK.
Luv, thanks for posting...4 mil a year is a lot of green.
dangit. I meant to hit "edit comment" because I knew there was a typo. I meant to say trillions of dollars in debt.
"trillions in debt" That just goes to show that money, on grand scale, just doesn't exist...and it also shows the gross irresponsibility our federal government has shown. Ok I'm done.
I agree 100%, Seanzie! You are very wise at such a young age!
That is how desperate UK is.
If people were truly pissed at how much coaches make, they would stop buying tickets. Just sayin'.
I'm not pissed -- it's capitalism baby.....
but it is such an inconceivable amount for me. My brain can't comprehend a direct deposit of 300,000+ on the last day of every month.
Indeed, j-z. It's not like the government is bailing out college athletics. It's a free market, so I have no issues with colleges paying coaches a lot of money. It is up to them to make sure they can afford it.
Wow...I said something that somebody agreed with. That's a first.
My twitter just told me that Sun Times Media Group, owner of the Chicago Sun Times, etc. filed for chapter 11 bankruptcy today. Not good news for the newspaper business.
Update:
Mrs. Jet not warming to the idea of renaming son "El Turbo," but we're working on it. I guess I'll have to show her the video.
She didn't want to name the dog "Dontarrious," either.
I thought she just said no to Eltoro Diablo. I got the feeling she was ok with Eltoro.
While I think that coaches salaries are economically inflated, I don't have a problem with them. The CEO that the President fired a couple of days ago (err, asked to resign) is getting a $20MM severence package, that is pretty much right out of taxpayers money.
Coaches salaries are generally not paid from state, or even school funds, but by the people who are most interested in their services: the fans. Like Michael and J-Z said, it's a free market. That's good. Long live big salaries!
At this point, I fully expect the White House to call on the resignation of coaches based on performance -- in fact, since only one of the three teams that the President selected to make the Final Four actually made it, it's appropriate for him to seek three resignations.
The president only selected three teams to make the final four? Is he some kind of moron?
i'm thining that pitino is lobbying for a raise right now, using az as leverage.
er "thinking"
That sounds about right, Jet. I mean, he's the President. If anyone should be able to fire coaches and rearrange the structure of college sports, it should be him.
I say Auburn sends lobbyists to Washington right now to ask for the firing of Meyer, Richt, Saban, and Nutt effective immediately. Also, not that it would affect Auburn, I'd like to see him revoke Tebow's final year of eligibility.
I was talking to my Dad yesterday and he told me something interesting...He said that the Alabama had to lay off something like 100 employees at some point last month and now they are getting ready to pay 2 mil for a coach..I haven't been able to find a story about it..Has anybody heard anything about those layoffs?
wartiger, interesting...very interesting...
Yes well you know the same thing happened at UT, they were cutting salaries and cutting staff but just paid Phat Phil 6 mil to take a hike and were also going to keep him on board the payroll as a special consultant type making 6 figures...
Virginia Tech starts practice today. They open the season with Bama. I hope they put the smack down on them!!! Please let this one be as fun to watch as Bama's bowl game.
I heard that UT recently had to make drastic cuts to their coaching staff's shirt budget. Apparently they can't afford to wear their shirts when 17-18 year old boys are present.
Yes the layoff of 100 University employees was in the local newspaper last Saturday.
Since the coaches salary does not come out of the same bucket their salary is unaffectied by University employee layoffs. Now if Witt was an Obama he would take from one and give it to ther other.
76k and change a week for Calipari? Wow
Or would you view it better as $ 10,900, every single freaking day
Where was I when Lebo's name was mentioned at VCU?
$450 an hour? Is my math wrong? I can't fathom it
In the bathroom maybe?
jhag - not sure of you figured out the hourly, but coaches put in insane hours.so it might only be 200 or 300 an hour
UGA's making a push for FSJ's beloved Anderson.
The funny part is for guys like saban, you know the money is just an ego thing. Do you really think Saban takes the time to do things with his money that he can enjoy. I haven't heard about him taking a month off to drive across the country. Or him buying a yacht and spending time down in the Gulf.
If you gave me 4 mil a year, I could use it right, most of these coaches prob can't.
as in, he's been offered the job...the question is, is UGA really a better place to be than Missouri?
This comment has been removed by the author.
Run Tater Run, Ben the Bear is ready to rock and roll. Good article on the Auburn Beat. I believe the whole team has this attitude and it will create a winning season, IF, we are lucky in the injury dept. on the O-Line
PF - no way UGA is a better job. You're going up against UK, Tennessee, Florida, Vandy twice a year. All much better programs. But Florida and UT weren't great jobs before Donovan and Pearl got there either so who knows?
I'm don't like referring to anything as "the bear".....and certainly not an Auburn player
365•24=8,760 hours in a year.
$ 4,000,000 for Calipari in a year.
4,000,000 divided by 8,760= $456.62 an hour.
Ca$h money.
Hornet, me neither!!
wow jhag. Thats 450.00/hr every hour he is alive. Not even the hours he is actually working
I know you guys disagree, but I think that kind of money for one person is sickening (and I'm not saying that because I'm jealous. I truly do not want that kind of money).
Actually, the average year is 8 765.81277, which is taken care of on our calendars by leap year.
Let's bring puppet hour in early today.
He makes $900 during a two hour nap
He makes $112.50 to poop.
the trick in today's world is finding something you do well that deserves such a substantial salary. if you do something so important so well, then you are gonna get paid big. coaching a high revenue sports team at a major university apparently falls into that category. lest we forget, coke, golden flake, zeigler, nike etc. pay much a coach's salary because we not only eat up tickets to the game, but we eat up their products (literally and figuratively) that coach says to buy because they sponsor the team.
$7.60 a minute
give me my coke products (for my AU logo icechest), zeigler hot dogs, and golden flake pork rinds! no tailgate is complete without them! and i need my under armor AU jersey and the AU logo mini football to throw in the parking lot. and don't forget the AU logo pop-up tent to keep me from getting sunburned and/or dry from the rain. i also usually wear and AU hat of some sort. but buying season tix is for chumps!
at those minutely rates, coaches should be barred from taking a vacation of any sort or even leaving their office unless it is on "company business". let's build a suite on campus for them and their family connected to an athletic facility and hold them prisoner for the term of their contract since they get paid so much.
this may actually be a good idea to employ with another overpaid and underworked part of society, U.S. CONGRESS.
Everyone has their likes and dislikes but that bear is dead and forgotten in my mind. Should I have said run Tater Tot run, oops another no no. Did you take time to read the article and see the good part that the subject of the post was about.
I believe nature balances all. Whatever you are paid (as long as it's the most you can find) then that is what you are worth.
This comment has been removed by the author.
digger -- seeing as there was not a link and many papers have an Auburn beat...no, I did not read the article. BUT - if you give a link I would like to!
My response to the Calipari situation?
Good hire!
Unsubstantial -- yet necessary -- new thread up.
