Thursday morning reset
Hey everyone. You know how I feel about going over 200 posts? Now we're over 400 in yesterday's thread and I'm legitimately anxious.
Of course, it is yesterday's thread. We need a new one.
So we'll make this one a Choose Your Own Adventure. Comment as you see fit.
I won't be updating again until practice, which is scheduled to begin around 4:30 this afternoon. Video is permitted. You can expect a video around 5:30. It'll be running continuously through midnight, so there's no need to go all road rage during the drive home. Or the drive to work. Whatever works for you.
HABOTN TV will be waiting for you.
PROGRAMMING NOTE: Blogger, which hosts this fine enclave of contentment, reports that it will have an outage beginning at 6 p.m. CDT. These typically last no longer than 30 minutes.

We da HABOTN, don't take no jive!!!!
Dear Leader will be disappointed.
Maybe this is the day he fires that rocket.
I'll choose to follow the tracks into the cave...
Practice in the rain always good for the soul.
Choose your own adventure, I used to read those all the freakin' time. It was my goal to discover each possible ending.
A rain flooded whistle makes it sound like a tweety-bird. Just doesn't have the same effect.
I used to read the choose your own adventure backwards to make sure that I didn't die.
Trying to figure out how to post.
I think we know how Mon's adventure ended...
Don't tell K how to post, I bet they'll never figure it out.
Choose your own adventure?
I choose to follow all of those plain white vans hanging out in Gadsden.
Do tell, Seanzie...
Welcome to the HABOTN, K and Soldmysoultosatan.
K figured it out. Thanks for your confidence, though, ehyou. WDE!
Loved the choose your adventure books!
More football! YAY!!
I'm thinking that bear in your avatar was the last thing you ever saw...in your adventure, of course.
I would nevah choose that as the ending of my adventure!
Choose your own adventure books were a staple of my childhood reading.
Sometimes Mon, you think you pick the right way, and you end up bear food, so it goes.
Gotta love this weather
I have never even heard of these books. But, then, I've never been much of a reader. From the sounds of it, I've missed out.
g'day mates!
lets put anothaaaa shrimp on the barbie
Practice at night is quiet a delight. Practice in the Sun is always fun
I also never heard of the ACT until I moved down here. All I had to take to get into college was the SAT.
I never heard of ACT or SAT when I went to API
I want the path to higher completion percentage, yards per game, and points.
That path is as elusive as Monica on the hunt for prey. (Seriously, that bear is spooky.)
No Jive
I'm in the VAST minority around here -- but I'm just not going to get deep into spring football until March Madness is over. I usually get really fired up around June.
I made a 30 on the ACT and all I got was a one-year tuition scholly. My roomie was a Presidential scholar based on a PSAT score and he actually got paid to go to school. Such is life.....
March Madness lost it's luster for me but I am not a big basketball fan. Just love Auburn and follow anything they do.
I only took the ACT, never took the SAT. I took the ACT once, got a score in the range I wanted and never bother to take any other tests.
Hornet, that's ok. I have a hard time getting excited about it this time of year too. My best friend starts counting down when there's still over 200 days left.
I don't know if y'all talked about it earlier but Lachae Seatrunk, Number 1 runningback and 2md
Overall is very high on AU... Per rivals.. MinD won't tell me about it though cause of Obama
I took the SAT a handful of times and did very well, took the ACT one time and didn't care for it, still scored fairly high but not as high as my SAT, decided once was enough. In Florida the SAT is more common than the ACT, seemed to be the opposite in Alabama.
They say everyone has one special gift in life, I think standarized test taking is mine, unfortunately I haven't found out how I can make that benefit me in the real world the way having a rocket for an arm or being a sales person would.
Wake, not me! I took the SAT twice and did terrible both times.
I did better on the SAT than ACT but Auburn wanted the ACT score
I'll never forget the Saturday I wasted on the SAT. The girl behind me, who's plans included Georgetown probably scored twice what I did all while talking about making pot brownies the night before.
I hated her.
I still do.
I wanted to jam a pencil in my eye during that test.
Then, swing around with the razor-edge of my test booklet and open her jugular vein right there in class.
I sat there and failed miserably instead.
Story of my life...
Choose my own adventure ...
I savor the view from the first tee at Augusta National.
My playing partners -- Clint Eastwood, host member Warren Buffett, and Tiger Woods -- great me warmly with handshakes.
My caddy, Eva Mendes, takes the cover off my Callaway Great Big Bertha driver, advising me to take my drive down the left side, as the pin is on the back right of the green.
Auburn accepted my SAT when I went - never took the ACT nor was it required.
LT
I took the ACT and still had to write a paper on how much I loved Auburn to get in...
I was more of a Wizards, Warriors and You fan
Mine goes like this....
Leave for Memphis and meet three college buds on Beale
Wake up the next morning and take my time getting to Rendevous for lunch (sausage, cheese, ribs, beer)
Go to South Regional Semis (UNC-Gonzaga; Syracuse - Oklahoma).
Spend Saturday in Tunica taking it to the house then party it up on Beale....again
Go to Finals and watch the Blake Griffin and Hansbrough battle
I actually get to live my adventure starting in about 6 hours
Sup Homies - I've never heard of these choose your own adventure books and I read a lot. Maybe it's a difference in age. That's what I'll tell myself anyway.
I remember the ACT - after a night of some moderate drinking, buses idling outside the open windows of the room at Huntingdon where I took it. Good times.
To steal some of Jet's adventure - my ideal foursome used to be Fuzzy (because I used to think he was funny), Payne (because he used to be alive and funny), Freddie (well, because he was Freddie) and me (because I sometimes think I'm funny).
ONE ---- ahhh, dammmmit

So, no one here's ever heard of Richard Johnston and the "Hill Country" documentary that aired on PBS?
If you like blues type music check him out.
The bear is to scare Harrison. :-)
Hag - I was just kidding, you big goober.
I don't remember if I took the ACT or SAT. I'm that old. I remember taking the GRE and we were some of the first to take it on the computer. Wow.
Jet - Your adventure reads like a Freudian dream case study.
I have heard of Johnston, the Hill Country Troubadour, but neither WV or KY PBS aired that show. A pity.
For Hag per Jeff Lee at auburnsports.com - it's a good piece - if you want the whole thing email me - monica_wareagle@yahoo.com
Temple (Texas) five-star running back Lache Seastrunk receives mail from colleges on a daily basis, most of which he never opens.
The 5-foot-11, 195-pounder, ranked by Rivals.com as the No. 1 running back in the country and No. 2 overall recruit, sifts through the letters looking for just a few schools in particular. You can go look in my locker right now and see them hanging up," said Seastrunk. "I only have two letters hanging up in my locker. One of them is Auburn."
Barry - Better than Ezra references a "Robert Johnson playing on the steel guitar" in there song A Southern Thing.....prolly the same guy huh?
Hornet - NO, Robert Johnson is a black dude from 1920's Miss. Better Than Ezra may have mentioned him but Eric Clapton covered him while with Cream and such.
He influenced ALL of the great British guitarists like Clapton (see Crossroads) and K. Richards.
Richard JohnSTON in a 30-something white guy who is awsome and plays a uniquie form of blues called "Hill Country" and is, ALIVE.
If you're going to Memphis, ask someone on Beale St. about him. Let me know what they say.
links coming next.
I don't put other people's Facebook status on blogs, but Tyrik Rollison has this posted:
"To all the Aubrun fans out thereShare

I'm trying to get my man Toney Clemons to come play for Auburn. He is no longer with Michigan and is looking for a new place to ball. We could use him at WR and I was asking for your help. Send him a message saying how much Auburn could use and how much you would like to see him on our squad. Anything from the heart will go a long way. Thanks for the help

Ty's asking for help tells me something:
Many many kids read the Net and fans whio think being negative and critical doesn't hurt have their heads in the sand.
There is a big difference. Robert Johnson wrote some of the greatest blues songs of all time after selling his soul to the devil, then started the trend of great music artist who died at 27.
Is this documentary airing sometime soon on PBS?
Jay G.
did i tell you lately that you are the man!!!!
Mon, I can't get the facebook link to work for Clemons.
I just got back from a walk. It's 85 by my thermometer, and sunny. Fishing will have to wait, I'm going to the pool.
Facebook is having some issues so it may be that, Kathy. It worked for me a few minutes ago. I'll keep checking.
I think I'd rather listen to "regular" music.
Also, my CYOA day starts in Poway, Calif., with me gazing out over the hills and a pair of tickets to the San Diego Wild Animal Park.
I'm jealous Peter.
I've had a lot of problems with Facebook since yesterday. It looks like they're re-engineering the pages again.
It's a weekly thing now.
RK, I saw it about two years ago and vowed that if I had a shoty I'd see him play.
At the time they said he still played Beale Street but his site says he's usually on tour out of town.
Its one of the first things that comes to mind wehen Memphis is brought up.
And where's the transfer from Michigan from originally?
Lache Seastrunk - That's an interesting name.
I think I'd rather listen to "regular" music.
Ahh, the hip-ness.
"Them kids and their crazy rock and roll."
To each thier on....Inverness_Chris
Sounds like an interesting documentary. I'm a fan of the North Mississippi Allstars and they play a lot of the older Hill Country blues stuff.
Hornet,
I noticed you left Sharice out of your plans. I'm sure that's just an oversight.
Try now, Kathy. I also posted the link on your Wall.
Tried the link on the wall and it states that it found no results. I found some info on a Tyrone Clemons out of Big Spring TX. He's a senior this year.
RK, some of the names mentioned on this doc are R.L. Burnside, Jessie Mae Hemphill and Junior Kimbrough.
https://audience.withoutabox.com/films/hillcountrytroubadour
You may be able to rent it on Netflix or something. Worth checking out.....I_C
Seastrunk has already been offered and accepted a spot in the 2010 U.S. Army All-American Bowl and he runs a 10.2 in the 100 meter dash. He loves him some Luper.
Barry - I'll definitely ask about him and return with any info.
PF - not my style but I'll tell her you and Jet said hello!
His Facebook name is Clem Vaugn and it says his network is Pittsburgh.
You guys aren't a bunch of facebook stalkers are you?
I sent him a message telling him to make sure that his buddy qualifies academically.....
p.s I didn't really do that.
This Toney Clemons is a transfer from Michigan and according to Mich blog he played slot for them last year.
He was a 4* guy out of HS...sign him up.
Just found an article. Thanks Monica. (Sorry, I don't have my linking instructions.)
http://www.mlive.com/wolverines/annarbornews/index.ssf?/base/sports-2/12379920339670.xml&coll=2
And he may be a Hottie...
Nice guy. Hope he finds the right school for him.
speaking of 2009 signees who are questionable qualifiers, what is the latest inside info on who the least likely qualifiers are?
i think i know who most are, but wanted a more expert opinion from you guys. i always like to temper my optimism about who will make it and who will not.
woot-off today at woot.com!
Kathy's article on Toney Clemons
Thanks Monica. Interesting comment "I just don't want to play in a spread offense.' He might not be interested in Auburn's offense either.
ok i'm outta here HOTTIES....
Got to go teach a 5th grade class for JA at 1:00 pm on this topic today:
"A Sense of Worth"
1. Identifying several characteristics of a positive work ethic
2. Distinguish between working for someone and self-employment.
3. Identify ways to earn income through jobs or a small business.
Well the Damn Bailout took all my "Sense of Worth"!!!!
Good luck, Mobile! :-)
mikl, what the frig is woot.com? It looks like they do humorous reviews of random electronic gadgets.
BTW I ordered a USB Stewie.
have fun Hornet. sounds AUsome.
Kathy - Facebook wouldn't let me send you a message, so go read the Wall at the HABOTN Hotties group.
Another article on Clemons:
http://www.pittsburghlive.com/x/valleynewsdispatch/s_617514.html
Question for the group- should I change my name to match my name in the feeling the heat group? I believe we are both the same person.
Sorry Monica. Got sidetracked with work. I'll go sign into Facebook now.
Sorry...just noticed the earlier post. Thanks for the welcome, Monica.
HA Yes, Tommy.
No problem, Sold.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Woot
Usually they do one product a day, but every once in awhile they do a woot-off where they put a product up and keep it there until it sells out, then put another product up.
Basically, it is a website that gives you a huge discount for something you wouldn't have bought otherwise. So is it really a discount?
Thank you Mon!!
Mon,
You mind sending me the articles on Lache and the Clemons dude?
I think Tyrik is working very hard to get to AU.
I wonder if the official congressional transcript of the Corrine Brown gradulation was verbatim or "cleaned up"?
It's been a long day today folks, but I always enjoy reading everyone's comments. Keep them coming!

That lady's English and stuttering were George w Bush-bad.
looks like woot.com is selling wine today....Alabamians can't order because we're not a state that you can have wine shipped to
BTW...if any of you are using a different user name on here than the one I have posted on the facebook group (or no name at all, PETER), send me an email and I will fix it for you.
Techincally Georgia is a ship to state, but usually there are contracts with only 1 or a few distributors. So if you live far away you're still pretty much SOL.
Hornet - my mother-in-law signed me up for a year subscription to a monthly wine club. I was really excited about it, but when she went in to enter the delivery info, it said it couldn't deliver in Alabama. Made me angry.
The Free the Hops gang needs to get on this cause next.
Free the Hops ... like Save the Whales, but different
The Toney Clemons guy said
"I want to thank you all for the support. It means alot to me to know there are people that dont truly know me to have my back and welcome and wish me well. I am seriously looking into Auburn and I have plans of contacting the university to see what the interest level and situation would be for me there. I have no problem competing with the best ... Read Moretalent daily to win and keep a job and I have no aspirations of going into a situation where things would be easy for me because competition within a program is what truly makes a player better and I know Auburn has that on both sides of the ball. I just want the opportunity to be able to showcase my skills in a manner that will benefit me and the program that I am involved with. Thanks again"
I want to start a group - Free Jay G!
michael - I discovered this when I was trying to order a gift basket that included a bottle of vino - couldn't send it to my wife in this state
pretty lame
Is Jay G in captivity?
Poor sentence structure may lead you to believe that I have wives in more than one state. I promise you that is not the case....
ha! Well you can send pretty much anything to your wife in New York or your wife in California.
or Utah.
Yeah, all 6 in Utah. But they all are cool with the multiple wife thing, so it is not quite as fun.
You know what I love most about the habotn, the fact that we never get off topic. It's all Auburn sports, all the time. I'm sure glad we dont talk about other things, that would be boring.
So......who is almost finished with their adventure?
If we talked Auburn all the time, even in the offseason, then we should be worried about ourselves. There is only so much Auburn you can talk. That sort of Auburn-only fanaticism leads to things like stalking high school recruits on facebook and other shady practices that none of us want to be associated with.
So, what's Rollison's latest tweet? Facebook profile change?
TIA
End of my adventure ...
I'm 3 under through 17 and Mrs. Jet shows up, showing me her work with a 6-iron -- rendering Eva Mendes, Warren Buffett and Clint Eastwood unconscoius. She let Tiger go.
As for me ... well, after the subsequent double knee replacement, I quit golf and forfeited any rights to "choose my own adventure."
So on my adventure today, I saw Gabe McKenzie mackin on the ladies.
And after that, we all showered and did it all over again.
who has time today for adventure? i've been busting my hump all day. bummer.
little timmy's and johnny's all over knoxville need their baseball jerseys. i am just that man to deliver. :)
happy adventures to all!
Scottie B - you do good work, sir.
you talkin to me?
Oh snap -- Palm Beach FL reporter:
"Auburn Freshman Using Power of Facebook"
http://www.palmbeachpost.com/blogs/content/shared-blogs/palmbeach/ufblog/entries/2009/03/26/auburn_freshman_using_the_powe.html
Practice is open to video from 4:50 to 5:20, so I won't be able to get the finished product on the HABOTN any earlier than 6.
Sorry about that.
Check around 6:15 for fresh practice footage!
Another HABOTN reader ...
How long until the NCAA puts a limit on facebook wall posts a coach can make on a recruit's facebook page.
Added a thread about Rollison/Clemons.
It's basically an assembly of information MonD and others posted earlier today.
Thanks!
