Sadly, I'm not sure Kodi running that play at QB was much of a threat last year either. He runs so off balanced that it didn't take much to take him down.
Thanks very much Michael, RK and Jet.
Still not running an I this year.
Bottom line, out offense wasn't built around personnel. It was built to run the same 6 or 7 plays over and over regardless of outcome.
PDWT, that whole McKenzie situation seems strange. I just hope he is on the team this fall. He has always seemed like a team-guy to me, he never complained about being shuffled around from TE to DE and back.
cought. ahem...I answered the question.
"los" pantalones
Nope, if it's the same offense that Tulsa ran, There will be two backs etc, but not the traditional I-Formation.
oops sorry, I didn't get that far before I typed my thanks.
Thank you, Peter.
I believe that they did run the I formation some, I believe in the bowl game. They just didn't use it a lot. Correct me if I'm wrong, which is very possible.
They might have, I just remember them doing different things out of shotgun etc.
I don't remember who, but thought I heard an interview already where someone said no I.
You don't need to run the I to be a good running team. Plenty of great running teams run out of single back/pro-set/shotgun formations. It's just about execution and how to best utilize your players.
This many folks interested in the nuances of Auburn Football makes me giddy.
ehyou getting giddy makes me giddy
(the recall you guys have for who did what when in what play 399 years ago amazes me)
Monica,
Thought I'd let you know that I'm going to see the North Mississippi Allstars in Knoxville Thursday night.
there are some very strange results on Amazon.com for "girl scout cookies"
Thanks for that one PF!! Who knew right?
Well who doesn't need a 32 ounce jug of wolf urine.
Ha - due to some distractions I missed some of the funnier results on the first look.
Jeez, you weren't kidding PF. Wolf Urine, unspeakable female apparatus, etc. Pretty disturbing stuff.
I thought it was a garden hose nozzle, but upon further review.. how do you get that from girl scout cookies?!?!
And yes, apparatus is an appropriate plural of apparatus.
I'm a little confused what the metal tools have to do with girl scout cookies.
Mmmmmmm.....Samoas
Some strange sort of merit badge?
For all the other geeks who love scheme and strategy, here is an article from the folks over at SmartFootball Re: Malzahn. Enjoy.
Malzahn's Offense
Daaa-yum....Amazon will sell just about anything.
Amazon needs to work on their search engine parameters.

Don't won't to get into the whole recruiting talent argument. There was a lot of talent(on paper) recruited. Whether it was bad luck or bad recruiting, there was also a tremendous amount of offensive talent attrition. The defense is still reasonably well stocked.
I can't wait until Tate eclispes the 1,000 yd mark in game 8 of the season and everyone comes here to give me a hard time about calling him slow.
El JAY G, does Luper make the RBs carry around footballs when their not doing drills. I saw a clip of practice and he was correcting Eric Smith on how to hold the ball, then he walked up to another guy and it looked like he tried to slap the ball out of his hands. I noticed that all of the RBs were holding fbs as if they were running the ball in the game.
Thanks Sean, any article with a reference to a Star Wars jump to light speed is for me.
Ehyou ... Samoas are a good thing.
Commitment is a key to productivity. When you feel better about what you are doing, you tend to do it better.
That's why Auburn should be better this fall.
And it's why I am amazed at Jay G because the way the news biz doing it would be easy for him to phone it in. But he doesn't ... he just keeps plugging along.
Be grateful, HOTTICANS.
Has anyone ever sold plasma? My Relay for Life team is thinking about doing it so we can reach our goal. $75 a pop. Seems reasonable.
Thanks Seanzie, I'm getting hyped again. Then again might as well be all the way in with this team, right? Besides I hate being cautiously optimistic.
j-z, I tried to donate plasma, but I had back to back bad experiences. Apparently, my veins are too fat and will not hold the needle tight enough. When the machine would try to return the portion of the blood they didn't need, it would slip out of my veins and it would just squirt into my arm, causing alot of pain, bruising, and ridiculous swelling. It was strange b/c I have prob given blood 25 times in my life, and I thought I would be a good candidate.
Seanzie-Thanks for that article man..nice read...so basically it's about tempo...tempo...tempo...we shall see...really looking forward to it...
gotta tell ya, will, if that is the line they told you (your veins are too fat)i have to question their competence. they couldn't find a smaller vein? typically, when dealing with blood products, you NEED a good sized vein. anything smaller than an 18 guage needle can lyse the rbcs they were trying to give back to you.
so when you told us your nickname was "big vein", you didn't mean what you led us to believe.
You may be right Scott. I tried it twice and had the same result each time...both times ugly. I prob won't try it again unless there is an extreme urgent need for my plasma.
lyse the rbcs?
lyse the rbcs... cause red blood cells to rupture
thank you Harrison!
I've never given plasma. I did give blood yesterday and passed out.
My policy on giving blood is that if my body made it, I should be entitled to keep it.
Seanzie, the article you linked mentions Malzahn's offense is simple. Now I have to clean up the throw-up off of my desk.
Onterio says "9 out of 10 times ima out run the linebacka"
ahhhhhhhh a full view of Eltoro talking and you cans see his guns...

Except for heavier Olinemen, many of the cliches coming out of spring camp sound like last season.
At least the fans aren't comitting unfounded giddi-cide this year.
The irrationally positive reaction after sneaking a win out of the Peach..er..Chicken Bowl led to the equally irrational negative reaction to poor implementation of the offense.
Maybe we're learning.
Freeman on non-contact drills ....
"Those backs, they try to shake you and keep running," he said. "When they're supposed to be down, they keep running like they scored a 100-yard touchdown or whatever. But then when you get in full pads, you get a chance to stop that."
I wouldn't say the giddiness was totally irrational. I mean, the offense looked pretty good and they only had a few weeks to work on it. No one with any sense would have predicted how horrible we would be this last year.
It is a little easier to see how we might fail this next year, thus the muted giddiness.
Michael, if you read closer, the guy says it's simple but it's complicated. There's some basic stuff but he does formations out the ying yang, motion etc.
Jay,
What do u think about Calipari and Kentucky?
Right, it's just that the word "simple" gives me chills after Franklin kept saying he was simplifying our offense over and over and over again last year.
As a Memphis fan, it makes me really sad that Calipari is almost certainly leaving.
The big question is, does Calipari leaving mean anything for the AU basketball situation down the road...
It means Kentucky instantly becomes a national power (since it is rumored the top two recruits will follow Cal to Kentucky), instantly increasing all of the SEC's RPI.
I am at the computer now, preparing some fresh content for you.
We'll dive a little deeper into post-practice topics from Sunday night. I'm also aiming to produce another video ... though load times here at Advertiser headquarters are remarkably slow.
Expect the update around 4:15 p.m. CDT.
I think Jay said it best when he said the SEC needs UK to be good.
I like Calipari at Kentucky.
Can't get Pitino? Get his clone.
I just got pulled over for 45 in a 35 inside of my private gated community. I'm pretty sure the cop overestimated my speed, and I question his authority to even be patrolling on a private road like that. Some serious BS.
Michael.....That giddyness assessment is good. I just noticed that it's almost puppet hour. If that assessment happened during puppet hour, well.........let's just say.. I'm not sure what's real during puppet hour.
El Toro is a bull waiting to tear up the China Shop.
Hoopie ...
What happened to the staff wasn't because they didn't meet fans "unrealistic" expectations. It was because they didn't meet the power brokers' "realistic" expectations. It's over.
Plus, cliches are cliches because they are cliches. They mean little. Your observations about what to look for in the spring game, though, always apply.
girl scout cookie = speculum?
Old thread down.
