Initial practice observations, 4/5
Hey everyone. Auburn is in the midst of a two-hour practice. Beat hacks were allowed to watch approximately 30 minutes. Here are the things I noticed:
- Eltoro Freeman was working exclusively at weak-side linebacker. That's a change. He had been working exclusively behind Craig Stevens on the strong side and some of you marveled that Spencer Pybus was in position to start at WLB. Might wanna adjust those depth charts.
- DE Hot Carter was helped off the field with what appeared to be a lower-leg injury. I can't judge the severity of that injury.
- TB/WR Mario Fannin was out there. That's the first time I've seen him participating since getting that protective boot last weekend.
- WR Philip Pierre-Louis was running routes and cutting, but he cannot jump at all. Assistant coach Trooper Taylor seemed dismayed after PPL failed to reach a ball that seemed within his grasp, saying: "Give me a receiver with arms longer than six inches."
PPL responded: "I still can't jump, Coach." - TB Onterio McCalebb's jersey reads "McCaleb" ... I don't know if that's a jersey space issue or what.
- K Chandler Brooks is still wearing the yellow shoes.
- S Marcus Jemison, who blew out his knee in two-a-days, may have moved to linebacker. I saw him running there today. I'll see if that's a permanent thing.

OK does brooks make a statement and wear yellow shoes during the regular season..
If he wears Yellow during the season, he'd better be 100% accurate. Otherwise, that's a sure Kicker on a Stick offense.
agreed jgt. 7-5 would be acceptable under the circumstances for 2009.
he should go find a pair of orange shoes
if he's feeling a little ronaldinho, heck, go for the gold shoes. just don't shank a 25 yarder from the middle of the field.
I agree with 7-5. As long as Chizik does that, I don't see him on the hotseat. Next season he will have to win more than 7 games though.
Daddy made supper tonight. Meatloaf, smashed potatoes, english peas, rolls. Good stuff.
7-5 sucks!
He's gotta win one he isn't supposed to. West Virginia is a possibility.
Surely Brooks gets a proper pair before September, right?
Sloppy Joes and French (not Freedom, in honor of the new administration) fries for Elturbo, Stewardess and Appendage.
Video being uploaded momentarily.
A highly placed source within the United States Department of State indicates that the Department's analysts believe that the presence of yellow shoes on a prominent kicker may be a sign that Jimmy Rane has overthrown Bobby Lowder as the top AU booster, and "has planted the flag, so to speak."
"We are monitoring the situation closely," the source said.
Oh, c'mon JGT. It seems like a great idea for the players to provide their own equipment wherever possible. I mean, Bobby can't be counted on to foot the bill anymore can he?
Put a roast in the crock pot before church today with potato, onion, carrot. made a little rice, also cooked some butter beans. and we are off to the races.
holy crap...

good call Jet
All this food talk...
Jet - Mrs. Gatiger has incorporated into her regular gump trips a stop at Peppertree. Oh, how I miss that place. There's nothing that can hold a candle to it anywhere near here.
