Well, if McCain doesn't work out on the offensive line, he might have a shot in the Kentucky Headhunters. Of course he is going to get a look this season. If your an offensive lineman, you are going to get a look. From what I have heard though, it looks like he will be a starter at one of the tackle spots.

As for Tate, smart man. Getting Ben to name who should be the starting QB wasn't a good idea. Malzahn would have definitely discussed his comments with him.

6:31 PM

Ben Tate is going to have a very good season. He has been a solid back the last few years, but I believe he can get some real attention this season.

A visiting coach spending 10 minutes on the field around players is not "an additional coach". The paranoia regarding NCAA rules is founded but rediculous that it has to be so.

Would Pat Dye's supposed pep talk to player last week be a similar violation to Sherrill's?

7:20 PM
Blogger Unknown said...

There is a big difference between a pep talk before practice and talking to players on the field while they are practicing. It is a little ridiculous that this is a violation, but it is. Sure, if he showed up at every practice doing it, it should be a violation, but a coach dropping by once giving players some pointers is a little ridiculous to criticize. Isn't the goal here to teach the players?

It was a lot of fun though cruisin through the corridors of BEMC, and seeing Rod Bramblett in there with us! 11:33 PM
Blogger Monica said...

Never have, Cincy. I love Poker and Spades. I know I supposed to like Bridge and Hearts.

Binoba - You're an evil man and I love you and your creations.

11:34 PM

When we were first married and saving for a house, we played thousands of games of Spades with another couple in the same boat. Such great days! Never had less money or more fun.

11:36 PM
Blogger Monica said...

Bin - when DirecTV set up our sat they did it such that when the trees around us are in full bloom we have some interference and lose some of our channels. So, Greg checked it out and we had better access to Dish sat's.

And then there was the DVR. Me likey.

When I lived in Brewton in the mid 90's we had a group of friends who played Spades until all hours and it was soooooo much fun. These days I usually have to play online to find live people who play!

11:38 PM
Blogger BinOBA said...

I've been tryin to avoid the 200 dollar fee for an hd dvr and receiver. If i were signin up for the first time i'd get it for free. I think if i went with dish they'd give me one for switching.

11:39 PM
Blogger j-z said...

Jet,

Thanks for the phone call about dinner. I'm still not real happy about the real Tony's closing.

Matt,

The only way I'd want to be trapped anywhere with Rod Bramlett is if he had duct tape over his mouth. He's horrible.

BinOBA,

Try this and tell me how it works...A whole deep fried chocolate bunny, or some deep fried jelly beans.

Faker,

Is it really "The Deadliest Catch" if we're on season 7 of the show? It seems like it's more like "Most likely to get a hangnail Catch."

11:40 PM
Blogger Monica said...

It's worth the switch. They have a good special right now, Bin.

11:42 PM
Blogger Monica said...

Isn't Miley like 12?

11:42 PM
Blogger BigEZ said...

Hey Binoba, my mom upgraded one of their boxes and she used the whole "I've been DTV users for a long time...yada yada" and she credited their account 20 bucks for ten months so it was not that much all in all. My parents have had it since it's existence though. It's worth a shot, just call and ask.

11:43 PM
Blogger cincytiger said...

Monica,
Is the channel selection as good? My mom has Dish and I have Direct and it seems I have better channels, but haven't really compared closely. Did notice with this month's bill that Direct has gone up (again).

11:43 PM
Blogger cincytiger said...

11:45 PM

I don't get it either, EZ.

11:47 PM
Blogger BinOBA said...

I really like directv, they are about to let you choose whether you want espnclassic or espnu, i guess lots of the sec games will be on espnu coming up when espn gets the sec contract started

Best tasting thing i have deep fried so has to be rolos.

11:47 PM
Blogger Monica said...

omg deep fried rolos????

You hate me don't you.

Is it better than deep friend Snickers?

What do you use to batter things like that? Never had any.

11:51 PM
Blogger cincytiger said...

Top of the 9th, Braves up by one. Nats have bases loaded with one out and Gonzalez is pitching. Why don't I have a good feeling about this!?

11:51 PM
Blogger BigEZ said...

'Cause their the damn Braves.

11:54 PM
Blogger AUfan said...

What holiday can Reese's use as an excuse to make product from after Easter? I have withdrawals from the time the eggs go away until the pumpkins come out at Halloween. Maybe something patriotic for the Fourth of July?

11:56 PM
Blogger BinOBA said...

Best thing to use is tempura batter, other batters don't crisp up right, they stay all soggy cause they are so thick.Tempura crisps up and is light as well but sticks good. I like them better than deep fried snickers. The moon pie thing is awesome but the slow time of year is over and time now at work is prety hardcore.

Makes sense to me, Monica. I just feel so...empty after the special candy is gone and I try a regular Reese's Cup. The thrill is gone.

12:06 AM
Blogger BigEZ said...

Exactly right Mon, and the chocolate layer is thin enough that it starts to melt right away. With Cups, you have to chew through the chocolate. I think the mini Reese's Cups may be better than the big ones. The Reese's Christmas was the best, I think it had double PB.

12:06 AM

If it is here and I can find a million reasons I should eat it. you know, just go ahead and eat it and get it over with, then you can really start your diet! I have so much self control when it comes to somethings and none when it comes to food (or candy) (or ice cream) (or bread) you get the picture

Monica, I'm not very good at moderation. It is pretty much all or nothing for me and my sweet tooth.

There are some great places down here. My wife is a pastry chef and baker here as well and does pastries at another restaurant and runs a bread and wine store. It's a little more high end than where i work (they're more of an italian place we're more fresh fish and local stuff} but a great place for dinner as well. I'll tell you where she works too, the rabbit pasta is off the chain.

We love pastry and bread and wine and Italian and fresh fish, so we will love you. Not sure about rabbit though.

oh yeah man, it's killer, gotta watch for bones though, they cook it off there, nothing bought in really, a lot like our place. Yeah, it's really one of my favorite dishes on the island.

Bin,
We usually take them to a really nice place one night, to a local seafood place one night and then they take turns cooking for us the other 2 or 3 nights.

Well, Braves pulled it out in the bottom of the 10th. With all this food talk I must go to bed or I will be eating my last pint of Graeter's ice cream. And I worked out so hard today - I hate to waste it! Night all. Only one week until A Day!!!

j-z,

I don't think an average of 4 people die in a less than 2 week season on Tuna Boats. Not exactly a deadly hangnail. The fatality rate is about 90 times the fatality rate of the average worker.
