Jet-Mine got a partial scholly and I went online to pay the balance of what I owe (or I should say wifey did) and when the comoputer didn't react as quick as she thought, she hit the enter key twice more. She was to add to the the credit card (the preferred way at AU) and guess who paid a full years tuition in big swoop. It took several calls to get my money back.

Have fun running 11 ... I'll probably drive at least 11 tomorrow.

Jet. Never mention Salmon croquettes again. I recall the smell when I walked into the house as a small child. A picture of someone hurling comes to mind.

Mon-Mix brown sugar with almond extract, vanilla extract and then drop in quarter cut peaches. mix it up and put on the grill skin side down for 3 minutes, rotate to one side for 1 minute, then rotate to other side for 1 minute. (grill on medium heat) Put either vanilla yogurt or ice cream in a bowl and add a couple of peaches.

I don't quite understand how that mixture goes on the grill, but that's ok. Sounds so yummy.

10:14 PM
Blogger Jet said...

Sounds kinda tasty ... of course, Mama used to make homemade peach ice cream. Now that was some stuff.

10:14 PM
Blogger Spongeworthy said...

The sponge loves the Salmon if he can jerk it out of the water and land it on the grill. Once canned, I'd rather eat Haggis (check that spelling)

10:14 PM
Blogger Monica said...

WTC - How will you pay for it during your run? Why are you running 11 miles? Why not 10 or 12?

10:15 PM
Blogger Monica said...

canned salmon = GACK!

10:16 PM
Blogger wtc said...

Mon- the mixture brings more sweetness to the peach. This is Bobby Flay speacial.

10:16 PM
Blogger Spongeworthy said...

We have made homeage peach and vanilla ice cream about 15 times this summer. There is a raging debate among family members. Cooked or uncooked. I fall into the uncooked category. cooking it makes it taste more like custard.

10:16 PM
Blogger Jet said...

When you grow up poor, canned salmon has to do.

10:17 PM
Blogger Monica said...

does anyone else understand my confusion? do you put that mixture in a pan and put it on the grill?

10:17 PM
Blogger wtc said...

I think i will still be very full in the morning. That is how I will pay for it.

My running group has started training for another marathon to be run in San Antonio in Novemeber. this is just a scheduled workout we have that will take us about 13 weeks to train for it.

10:18 PM
Blogger Spongeworthy said...

Then why use a grill. why not an oven, or stove top.

10:18 PM
Blogger wtc said...

We did 9 twoo weeks ago and had an easy week last week (only 6 miles) so we have to step it up this week. Next week will go a little further and the the next one we take a step back.

10:19 PM
Blogger Monica said...

did you have to walk barefoot in the snow uphill both ways, Jet?

God love your heart.

10:19 PM
Blogger Spongeworthy said...

By the way. add a little rum and that will sweeten it up a bit as well. A lot of rum, and you can take the day off of the running thing.

10:19 PM
Blogger Jet said...

Just for a frame of reference, WTC, I believe you reside near the Mitylene exit.

A marathon would be the equivalent of parking your car at the Liberty gas station and running from there to the Tuskegee exit.

Your car works, doesn't it?

10:20 PM
Blogger wtc said...

You put the peaches in the mixture to coat them and then pull them out and grill them to get the grill marks and bring out the sweetness. They are very firm when done right.

10:20 PM
Blogger Monica said...

Thank you for clearing that up for me. :-)

you're cracking me up, Sponge

10:21 PM
Blogger Spongeworthy said...

wtc. that running thing will kill you. Drink wine, and lots of it. They never die of heart attacks. And you stay thin as well. Never feel like eating.

10:22 PM
Blogger wtc said...

You are right Jet. I don't think i will do that but have decided I will ride my road bike (pedal) to AU one gameday. Taking back roads it should only be 50 miles from the house.

10:22 PM
Blogger Monica said...

Meth will do that for you, too.

10:22 PM
Blogger Jet said...

Not me, Mon, ... mama and daddy.

Dad grew up in a house full of women -- his father died when Dad was 5 in 1931. They made do with little.

Mama grew up on a farm. They had land to grow food, but they had no money.

(Name redacted) was a staple for poor Southern folk in days from the 1930s to the 1970s.

it may sound strange, but finding a few freinds that run is great. We meet every Saturday morning at 6:00am and run. We talk about the kids, football AU and UA and UGA. it is very interesting.

Blogger Spongeworthy said...

Yeah Mon. Meth. Hard to eat with no teeth. And, you could run for miles, with all those purple panthers chasing you and such.

10:24 PM
Blogger Monica said...

none of that is reason for you to still be eating canned salmon

10:25 PM

10:26 PM
Blogger Spongeworthy said...

Canned salmon. Maybe there is something that can make me run.

10:27 PM
Blogger wtc said...

You guys crack me up.

It was tough at first, but like the old saying goes (for runners) if youcan do 3 you can 6 and if you can 6 you can do 10, etc. I could n't talk at first, but after a few runs, you can. The trouble starts at about 18 to 20 miles. Not much talking when we hit that number.

10:29 PM
Blogger wtc said...

Canned salmon will give you the runs. BTW, don't eat a Taco bell the night before either. if you do, lay out a course where there is new home construction. you wil lneed that portolet.

HAPPY JOE CHILDRESS DAY!!!

Mr. Childress was a 2-time All-SEC fullback in '54 and '55. He was ALL-AMERICAN in 1955 and 7th overall pick in the 1st round of the 1956 NFL draft. He spent his entire 10 year NFL career with the Chicago/St. Louis Cardinals. His best college game was in 1954 when he had 164 yds rushing in leading Auburn to an upset win over 5th ranked Miami. Mr. Childress passed away at age 53 after a valiant fight against cancer.

The floor is now open for shout-outs to your fav 35s!

At Ga So. where my daughter goes, there were great deals on brand new, nicely furnished apts. Wifey/daughter decided it was much easier and no more expensive to rent the furnished apt and then splurge on accessories. The initial splurge was expensive, but she is entering her 4th year without moving and it has paid off.

from auburnsports.com

"I would be a versatile player in the Auburn offense like they (Gus Malzahn) used Darren McFadden (at Arkansas). I also like the city of Auburn.

And this one cracked me up:

I like that Auburn made Lattimore's top 5, although I bet he is South Carolina bound. It is nice to see Florida State out of the picture. Penn State is probably a contender also.

The thing with this recruiting class is we have 2 primary needs: linebacker and offensive linemen. We have done well with linebackers, but I would like to see some top notch offensive linemen.

farmlinks in close to sylacauga. It takes less than an hour from Hoover to get there, depending on where you are coming from. It a one fee course. I think about $130 bucks now, but that gets you as much golf as you can play in a day along with lunch and beverages...no alchohol. Free range and practice facilities all day as well. There are limited rounds on the course, so it never gets crowded, and no housing developments either. Just golf on a great course.

(Hang in there, Scottie B.)

What an appropriately named man. His ability reduced us to monosyllabic grunts when he did something special, which was frequent.

The brother of my brother-in-law recalls with laughter the night Pat Dye spoke to the Nashville Auburn Club in advance of the 1982 season. He was telling the group about the incoming players.

"We got a running back from Birmingham ... Vincent Jackson. He wants to be called 'Bo.' ... We gonna call him 'Bo.' "

JayGT's excellent article in today's MA.

"paved with...potholes" gave me a chuckle, but as usual, superb analysis.

That was an excellent article. I hadn't considered that we could have problems on the DL. I guess I'm spoiled b/c someone always steps up there.

Excellent article, Jay G.

I know this sounds ridiculous, but I always forget that Jay G. has "real" articles in the paper and I forget to go find them.

Happy BO day. We shall celebrate this day every year by running over at least one bammer.

( score double points if you run over in your car ).

( score triple points if you run over in a bulldozer ).

after 6 hours and numerous drive-bys all over our area Tucker has been returned home. whew. this kid is wearing me out. :) i really thought he was gone this time. that's the problem trying to house-train a wild hunting dog. it's going to take way more than 3 months.

thanks for the hotties that checked on me. much appreciated.

Scottie B - no manner of training worked on our Golden Retriever. Marley, of Marley and Me fame, had nothing on our Cammie. I put in an invisible fence. It didn't last long. Cammie endured repeated shocking as she located the buried wire, dug it up, and pulled it out of the ground with her mouth. Punk. It took 3 long hard years, but she turned into the best dog I've evere had. And I've had quite a few dogs over the years.

Norm....Cammie sounds tuff.

S'pose she could suit up and play second string OL for us this season?
