Herring gets the nod
Thanks to Texas Lolo, one of the very first HOTTIES, for passing this nugget along:
Seahawks promote Will Herring to starting linebacker spot
Will Herring took an unconventional path from high-school option quarterback to college safety to NFL linebacker. He'll replace injured Leroy Hill on Sunday against the 49ers.
By Percy Allen
Seattle Times staff reporter
Will Herring made a name for himself as a special-teams maniac since the Seahawks selected him in the fifth round of the 2007 NFL draft.
When you're a backup linebacker, you get work any way you can.
Playing on punts, punt returns, kickoffs and kickoff returns is hard work, but has paid big dividends. It gave Herring a chance to hone his defensive skills.
"I've come a long ways in a short time," said Herring, a three-year starting quarterback at Opelika High School in Alabama and a three-year starting free safety at Auburn.

boom.
Yes Scott C. and she played LB
. She also was one of 9 in the box.
LOL!!! What happened to your FB page?
your son lost his privilege to be my friend
Hotties, we won't bore y'all with the details. 2.0 and I will head on over to google video chat so I can see what the specifics are on the requested transfers.
Ah, do you have to take 2.0 away from us?
ok, wife working late, got major craving for wings. i am eating by myself. should i?
A) go to Hooters
B) go to local wing joint with better wings.
hhhmmmm.....
THT, i'll email you my account number too when you're ready. ;)
Go for better wings, After all, this is an eating thing, right?
i'm leaving that way VI, but Hooters has curly fries & cheese sauce. decisions, decisions.
Okay Hotties, out for awhile, When I return, I expect all couches to be burnt and the appropriate number of WV mounties to be in the box. I am ducking out of puppet hour also.
If you go to Hooters, get 'em naked.
The wings, that is. Much better that way.
Wow, Scottie promoted me from IV to VI. Do I get a raise also?
I'm a baching it this weekend gang while the wife heads south to take care of the niece as the rest of the family there fights colds, flu, etc.
What to eat tonight in Auburn?
Scottie - me? I'd just stay home and eat cereal. It's a lot cheaper.
IV - 2.0 was HABOTNing right in the middle of what she claimed was a "study group". They must have been taking a break.
Later, IV.
ok, in Auburn, I'd probably eat... cereal. But there's always Byron's Smokehouse
2.0 knows when do HABOTN. She has her priorities correct. I am gone for sure now because Mrs. IV is giving me that look again.
sorry IV, those numerals get tricky. :)
i've been eating pretty light at work. i deserve a man meal tonite THT and i love me some wings.
Sensi, you know my recommendation for supper.
You know, Lucky Charms sounds real good right now.
I ate lunch with a friend in Raleigh today at Big Ed's. It was soooo good.
And since MrsTHT wasn't there, I didn't have to put anything green on my plate. I had chicken & dumplings, homemade biscuits, sweet corn, and real mashed taters with gravy, washed down with sweet tea and polished off with some nanner puddin'.
It was absolutely DEEEEElicious!!!
well, i think i'll go with local wing establishment. they've got a few nice tv's at the bar. i'm out till later.
enjoy your Lucky Charms!!!!!
Good grief, THT! How can you even move your fingers on the keyboard after that? Of course, you were gone for a while. Maybe there was a nap involved.
Enjoy it, Scottie!
Probably a good choice, Scottie. Anybody have any thoughts on GT/Miami tonight?
I take about 5 or 6 naps/year and today wasn't the time for one. But it's been 4 1/2 hours and I'm getting reeeally hungry. I don't know what MrsTHT has in mind for dinner tonight, but a bowl or two of cereal shouldn't get in the way.
Sensi..I go to Moe's SW grill for a decent, quick meal when baching-it. Is Chuck's BBQ still around?
J-Zhag...I've found that the gallon of diesel starts better when topped off and fused with a gasoline trail leading upwind. Couches, Bammers and Gaytors don't stand a chance
GT vs Miami... good question. I don't know. I sort of hope GT puts a whuppin on them, but I really don't have any idea how it's going to play out.
It's actually and 80/20 mix. It goes up real pretty.
I see a Clempsun game scenerio. Can GT throw enuff to keep Miami backed up and then run? Clemson moved up in the second half and stuffed GT until GT finally threw a deep pass to seal the win.
Haven't seen enough of the Miami offense to have an opinion vs the GT D.
I'm just real happy to have some college football tonight. Whatever happened to those Tuesday night games? Yes, they may have been MAC or Conf-USA games, but any college football is better than no college football.
Not only will I miss Monk tomorrow night whilst driving hundreds of miles, but I'll also miss Boise State @ Fresno State. That's a huge game for that conference. And it's not on that horrid blue carpet.
I still want Miami to lose most games. I still can't get over the numerous self-aggrandizing acts by the players that were not only allowed, but cheered by their folks.
Miami started swagger. If you gotta have swagger in order to be good, then you are an emotionally weak fool that can easily be lead astray.
well said, Hoopie! I agree completely.
btw, Tuesday and/or Wednesday college football begins on Sept 30
bookmark 2009 tv schedule
ok, that didn't work, I thought I messed it up but was counting on an html error message.
Let's try this:

Sensi,
We're taking Tyler to the new restaurant that went in where Johnny Carinos used to be on College Street. It is supposed to be good. Or you could go to my favorite, Brick Oven. I'm hungry, that must mean I am getting well!
THT...Ms Hoopie is walking through during the Boise St/Oregon game, looks quickly at the tube and says: "Why is there only one team on the field?"
I get a headache trying to watch BSt at home.
And Scottie B - no Hooters.
cincy - welcome back with your beautiful fingers and toes!
on prior thread were you talking about KO returns? I can't remember us having but one punt return. I haven't paid that much attention, but either the opponents kicks are too high and short for our returner to have a chance, or our blockers are doing a terrible job of keeping coverage away from our returner. I only remember one punt we actually had a chance to return. Demond got about 8 or 10 yards, I think.
I also haven't paid much attention to our KO returns, other than to notice they aren't great.
And our KO coverage has been woeful. It's like they think it's two hand tag instead of tackle.
THT...that sched is ESPN-centric. It doesn't include the CBS or NBC games or the ones sold to FSN, etc. Does Fox do regular season CFB games?
Cincy....good special team Qs. I haven't responded b/c like several others in here, I have noticed that we are weak, but not noticed why.
As much as I love blue, and that's a WHOLE LOT, I absolutely think that blue rug is AWFUL.
cincy - I think Scottie chose the high road and went to the local wings establishment. And you will be happy to know, perhaps, that I have never been in a Hooter's restaurant.
Scottie B. neglected to mention that his local wings establishment is called Ta-Ta's.
Hoopie - here's a schedule that shows all networks, but it only shows one week at a time.
I'm thinking Tony's Pizza in the Gump for dinner.
Is it still open? I wonder.
Jet - on Bell Street? I don't think so.
This comment has been removed by the author.
Boy, Jet...and you were worried about WERK's internal organs when he's walking near the BJCC.
*pond frogs*
like pond scum
The Tony's on Bell Screet is gone. I don't know if their Troy Hwy experiment worked or not.
La Parilla Mexican Grill in Acworth will do nicely
Hoopie - been there, done that. Isn't that near the Kroger shopping center?
Hooters is gross.
I ate lunch at La Parilla in Alpharetta, GA yesterday. I expect we'll do our usual Friday night El Potrillo tomorrow because they have a game room to entertain the youngest of the Norm clan.
There's one reason and one reason only to go to Hooters and it ain't the food.
The food or environment?
i sure wish 7:30 EDT would hurry up and get here. I WANT FOOTBALL!!!
You're right Norm. It's the flesh colored pantyhose.
The chicks that work at Hooters aren't the ones I covet. I'd rather guess at homegirl's true horsepower ... rather than have it on display that way.
You know what I'm saying?
Anyone ready for some football.
I enjoy 3 pizzas for $5 each at dominos on Thursday night. Hooters is terrible.
ok, back from my thursday wing nite. :) i feel much better now. no ta-ta's. thanks Scott Choc, u funny guy.
i chose out local wing joint and i am much better for it. the NFL network was in glorious HD on 3 large plasmas. i was very happy. ok, time to fire up the tv downstairs.
and Hooters is not gross. i like breaded wings. just not all the time. u guys/gals....
Norm, J-Zhag
Tony's relocated to the old Green Lantern location on the Troy Highway.
It is open, but struggling.
On the positive side, I have obtained the masterpiece "Round to Italy" and a pepperoni, plus the crowd favorite "Greek Salad for One (which actually feeds 4)."
Hooters = antithesis of good
Stank restaurants
Rank wings
Skank waitresses
I have spoken.
Dang, 2.0 demanding a wire transfer???
Jet, I must agree. Many many years ago I had some co-workers invite me to Hooters because the wings are so great. I go there. I tried them. They stank. I don't go to Hooters any longer.
GaTech versus Miami. I have football and it is good.
I too, like Scottie, enjoy the breaded wing from time to time.
I love plural plurals. There is nothing more impressive than a head coach that uses the word "freshmens".
This Lane Kiffen looks like a deer in a headlight in that speach about florida when he took the HC job.
Okay Steve, Who do you like in the GT-Miami game?
Steve, in regards to your (way) earlier post, I would love to see Kiffin put a whippin' on Urban Cryer.
I have serious doubts it will happen.
I like GT in a close game, if the game gets out of hand, that goes in Miami's favor.
Oh well, I guess Steve is busy. I like GT insects by 3.
WOW!!! A very loud, house shaking noise going on up in here. This can only be one of two things: 1) my future 4* is upstairs and just jumped off of something high (high = elevation, nothing else) again, or 2) more thunderstorms. Given that his mother is with him and taking into consideration the weather of the day, I believe it's likely that option 2 is the culprit.
This has been a public service announcement from Norm. The More You Know...
....the dumber you become.
I like GT too, in a close one. But I must admit that I don't keep up with Miami. Is Nix their OC?
Nix was fired after last season. I can't remember their new OC, but he called a great game against FSU.
Damn, the yellow jackets stole our phrase, they are doing what they do.
I simply love this GT offense. It is a manly testosterone based offense.
Mark Whipple is the new OC for Miami.
New thread UPZ.
Just had a friend email me and ask about seats on Row 5 in Jordan Hare. Wondering if they are too low to see anything? Has anyone sat down that low that could give me feedback?
