Woot!!
Nice work, ehyou. Two for two.
ehyou flying high tonight.
Walt McFadden is funny.
I think "No Beat Writers Were Harmed" needs to be on the back of the next HABOTN t-shirt.
Good job Jay G as usual.
I just drank some of the kool-aid.
Malzhan.
Not sure what to do with this tingly feeling.
hotel internets are stupid and slow. i'm going to DQ while the video loads...
It looks like the players are truly buying into the "we've got a lot more work to do" philosophy. That's another feather in the staff's hat.
36-0 bammer. Kool-Aid, is bamer back again?
I'm just teasing Sensi and I appologize, I have steped over the line.
F Bama, Hate Bama!!!
respect Mr. Ben Tate. the man asked for quiet. he got quiet.
One thing I know for sure about this offense. It's very confusing to watch after a "few" toddies.
If Tate did not get silence, would a beat writer be harmed?
that's a great question. maybe JGT should ask BT next week.
I think my potential Tebow crush just transferred to Ben Tate.
Josh Bynes
I'm too lazy to link this, but JD had this on facebook and it is freakin funny. Someone better than I can link it for me.
http://www.thewareaglereader.com/2009/09/all-cuddle-no-huddle-a-day-in-the-life-of-gus-malzahn/
Neil Caudle?
potential crush K? come on. love Tebow. embrace Tebow. especially this week. crush the Vols!
Does anyone out there with Directv (or some other provider where CSS is not an option) know how to get episodes of the Auburn Everyday program? thanks
Thanks Eddie, "The sideways snap of the plant in the Football Complex" I split a side on that.
My hate for UAT burns strong, Eddie. No worries.
I actually felt excited about this game for the first time this week.
I'm sticking with my pick because that's what I should do, but I like the taste of that kool-aid.
I also like the fact that no one on the team is satisfied.
That's real change.
It always takes me a while to get back into him after the off-season, Scott. I would prefer my crush energy go to one of our own.
scottie...just let him line up against Alabama and zookeeper will be drooling.
That's why Kristina is turned on by men who spew popcorn on her.
gotcha. i've tried to resist man-crushes but with Tebow i can't help it.
this Malzahn read is pretty funny.
eddie...
That article was seriously primo stuff.
JD- Crazy thing is we had the auther, Kevin Strickland on the show twice, and he is bland, but his articles are so darn funny!!!!!
BIG SNACKS!
Pretty sure I wouldn't call that "turned on" but ok.
FSJ, i watched the Bama-FIU game today. i was suprised that even though McElroy seemed pretty efficient that they couldn't turn those FG's into TD's. FIU played hard but ran out of gas at the end of the 3rd. T.Richardson looked good in the 2nd half.
I'm wondering when JD is going to be able to make a guest appearance...
That 6'4 receiver for FIU was the real deal..
As was that kid that ran the kick back..
The QB was gritty but the rest of their team was about what you'd expect.
Look for Fannin to rack up some bubble screens when they send all of the LB's and the corners and safeties sit on their heels in this weak 3-3-5.

There's nothing like the cigar-smoke laden chuckle of PMarsh wafting out over a HABOTN video.
JD- You have open invitation, you big the date, we'll save the slate!!!!
I'm pretty sure I told everyone about those two players, and that FIU would hang with Bama for a little over two quarters, then run outta gas against a bigger, stronger, Bammer team. Nobody reads my posts, though.
Peter..that big receiver caught EVERYTHING thrown his way..It was amazing.
How did #4 T.Y. Hilton for FIU not garner more National Recruiting attention? Or did he? Any recruiting experts feel free to explain?
what'd you say Peter?
he was a stud fo sho.
JD- How did Phillip Rivers get recruited as a TE by Auburn?
Has anyone heard from Peter lately?
Sorta like Javier Arenas.
He was headed to South Florida I think before Shula offered him a scholarship.
It happens.
does Peter still post here? i usually don't read his posts so i don't know.
I have been in the bed with the flu (or something equally nasty) all day. Have I missed anything? I just don't have the energy to read the whole day's comments.
Someone told me today that the "Wildcat" position was built for a guy like Kodi Burns. Since he could is a threat to run, throw, and catch. I do not know for sure what I think about that. He does seem to fit that position very well though.
Eddie, let me answer your question with a question. How many stars did Phillip Rivers have? Because, we all know that if he was any less than 4 stars we shouldn't have any interest in him.
WDEwg,
I did read your post. We have Direct TV and get Auburn Tigers Everyday on one of the local stations. ABC 33-40. Try putting Auburn in your search for shows and it should come up if it is on one of the locals. Ours is Saturday mornings at 10:30am.
I think the kid that ran back the kickoff, T.Y. Hilton, is the better of the two, actually. He lacks in size a little, but he's got great vision and speed.
The taller dude,Ellingson, is just a talented athlete.
It's really suprising what Cristobal is doing at FIU. They're just one season removed from a 1-24 two season run, and are talking about the possibility of going to Rutgers and beating them on their home field. Then again, Rutgers sucks.
Sorry, you don't feel well Cincy.
PF, you my boy homes. ;)
sorry to hear Cincy. rest up. big game saturday nite!
5-9 170lb WR's don't usually get much national attention.
I'm starting to smell something...
Cincy ...
Sorry that J-Z transmitted the flu to you. He probably infected 400 people at the game, too.
Jet's Cliff Notes ... just for Cincy.
1. Sensi got cussed out at work.
2. Sensi picks West Virginia.
3. Various HOTTIES cuss him out.
4. Auburn baseball trivia just reminds us that there's no current events in AU baseball worth talking about.
5. Many of us still hate UAT.
6. Ziemba has been known to move illegally before the snap.
7. J-Z would like some cookies when you recover.
Hope you get better soon.
HA!
Y'all can't smell that?
wow Jet, that is a pefect summary of the day's events. nice job.
I still have a good feeling about this team. I see it in the players every time they are interviewed.
I have been reading up more on WV. They are a concern, and apparently one of the favorites to win the Big East.
I see this as bad and good. We will definitely be tested, but if we dominate WV, we are for real.
Jet,
Thank you so much for the wonderful recap!
Sensi,
How can you pick West Virginia :( Seriously though, can you tell me what you see? Why you would pick them?
hmmm, guess I'm the only one.
sorry, no smellage here in east tennessee.
well...
#66 did someone say snacks?
I can't smell anything! I hate being sick. But, better on a Tuesday than a Saturday!
aaahhhh....snacks. clever.
"How's that working out for you?"
"What?"
"Being clever."
"Good."
"Keep it up then. Way up."
Sorry you feel poorly Cincy. I'm blaming Jet as the culprit. I was pretty well disinfected.
Hey...your daughter doesn't happen to make pound cake too by any chance?
"When we got here this was a pretty fragile group."
Amazing what the difference between being told "you guys can't run this offense yet so we'll scale it back to your small knowledge of it" to being told "we're going to run this offense, you guys are going to learn it".
Tony Franklin taught his offense to this same team like they were a remedial class, where Gus teaches this team like they are advanced learners.
Everyone is saying a shootout vs WVU. I say BRING IT! They gave up a kajillion points to a I-AA Big South cupcake and a team that barely beat another I-AA openent the week prior in ECU (yeah, they were a feel-good story. it's another season and that's over). If ECU and flippin LIBERTY can score on them, Auburn damn sure will be able to. Their D is gonna be laying on the ground gasping for breath by the end of the game.
j-z,
I make a mean sour cream pound cake. My son is making homemade Key Lime pie this weekend. We like dessert.
Cincy,
Here's what I wrote today.
The Tigers offensive resurgence has generated plenty of excitement on the Plains. The first real test of the season comes in the form of West Virginia, a team that has found a solid passing game to go with the run in spite of replacing four offensive linemen and do-everything quarterback Pat White. The Tigers defense is a good starting group, but lack of depth and experience could come back to haunt them in a shoot-out. This one will more than likely turn into a score-fest as both offenses will find ways to exploit the defenses. I give the edge to West Virginia with more proven wide receivers and special teams performers. West Virginia 35, Auburn 31.
I see why Sensi picked West Virginia. They return most of their skilled position players on offense and most of a defense that was pretty darn good. Their biggest weakness is their offensive line. While the lost Pat White, their new QB has looked very good passing the ball. West Virginia looks to be a challenge.
I hope Hoopie doesn't get mad, but I have a bone to pick with the coach. I disagree with him.
The price for Auburn football is cheap. The potential for return is good. The cost of loss is minimal.
I consider Auburn football a "buy."
Very sound observations, Sensi, but I think Auburn has the intangibles. Not saying they will win every game, but I think they win this one. You know I have several pairs of orange colored glasses. :)
Let's see a weak OL, a QB with his first start on the road, injuries in the DL ...
Yeah, let me jump on that bandwagon.
THEIR WEEKNESS IS THEIR OFFENSIVE LINE!
You can't do jack without a good offensive line. JACK!
Explain to me this "proven" WR corp. They played on a team that has been run, run, run for the last three years, put up some nice stats against cupcakes, and all of the sudden they're "proven?" Makes no sense.
Time for more drugs. See y'all in the morning.
Jet saying what I've been saying all week.
Their OL is inexperienced, their QB has never started on the road, much less in Jordan Hare. They gave up 20 points and a lot of yardage to ECU and Jerry Falwell University. I like our chances.
If you were to ask me the top 5 reasons why we're averaging 500 plus yards a game, I'd say McCalebb, Todd and Tate would be Nos. 6, 7 and 8.
West Virginia's QB is a fifth year senior and he has looked very solid.
Their offensive line has done well this season, although they only returned one starter, the center.
West Virginia's offense has been light years better than last season. Don't underestimate them.
We need to play smarter football than we have the last two games. The errors weren't glaring because of how dominant our offense was, but some of our mistakes could be killers in a close game.
I hope I am wrong, seriously, I do.
I've thought and said all along getting out of September unscathed is a lot to ask of this team. Are they up to it? They certainly seem motivated. However, if they are going to get tripped, it's here.
This is our UCLA, gang. That's what I think.
I agree, who said they're proven?
I thought they gave up less than 300 yards against ECU, although I could be wrong.
Sensi ...
We could lose ... but I think we're a lot more likely to win ... probably not by 2 touchdowns ... but I will surprised if we don't win.
#89 Darvin "No Drops" Adams
does anyone know why DQ uses those cups with the ridges all over them for their peanut buster parfaits? it's so damn frustrating trying to get that last little bit of hot fudge out of those crevasses.
By the way, Fannin and Adams deserve a lot of credit too. Don't forget Fannin had about 75 yards rushing against MSU and he was our receiver against LaTech. This is going to be an interesting game.
Steve, light years? They haven't even seen a Big East oppenent yet. Light years?
For every Noel Devine you think you're gonna hear, insert a Fairly or Coleman, cause that's the music that'll be playing Saturday night!
What I saw in the early part of the second quarter against MSU concerns me some. For the first time, the offense looked a bit confused. We have had only one three and out so far. That will be a big key. In a game like this, yards will be nearly as important as points. We will need our defense as rested as we can get them. I expect to see a lot less substitution on defense for this game.
I'm out for the night, gang.
Catch you all tomorrow.
I'm fired up with all of this crazy talk.I need to go try and catch passes over the middle with Eltoro in a field of burning couches!
PF, compare their performance last year versus this year against ECU. ECU dominated them last year. I think they only scored 3 points. This year they dominated ECU. That is a huge improvement.
I don't give a flip about yards. I want to continue red zone conversions of 80% or better.
I would prefer to win.
Steve, I addressed that already. ECU is not the same feel-good story they were last year. WVU's not as lost as they were early last season, but that doesn't mean they're light years, either.
Sensi,
Goodnight, and (*&$#(*$( *()&&)#&*&$hskhf&*($*&$
The 2nd quarter problems came after Coleman's TD put the D back on the field quickly...then on 3rd down on the next Miss State drive, Coleman gets a facemask penalty when we should have gotten off the field.
Our next drive we have it 3rd and 1 and t hen get a false start, then a drop by Darvin Adams on a pass that hit him in the shoulder. Then Durst kicks it off the side of his foot.
So the D had no rest, but it was a penalty and a dropped pass that killed the 3 and out drive.
Guys I am out too. Holla holla balla.
State scored on the next drive, then we move the ball, get another false start then a blocked punt.
ECU isn't the same team they were last year.
Anyway, check you all in the morning.
A friendly warning ... three and outs, while no fun, are going to happen.
Boys and girls ... We are going to wax WVU. That is all.
AU 48
WVU 23
Like a good steak, I am medium rare.
Like a bad steak, I am done.
Good night, HOT BOYS and GIRLS ... and HABOTNistas (you know who you are).
Current line is AU -4.5
Wait, that's only one line. Everybody else has it at -7.
Apparently, I got to the party too late.
put me down for a nickel with the guy who has -4.5
you know what really grinds my gears? Bleach.
Bleach?
I wish it was Saturday about 6:30 PM.
We practiced in a heavy rain tonight, which is good. No matter the weather, it is still time to go.
Weather for Sat. night looking good. 70% chance of no rain.
I am hoping the difference in this game will be the linemen.
WV runs a 3-3-5. Take five offensive linemen, add one Ben Tate. I see a defensive line getting pushed around, no matter how experienced they are. The linebackers? They will likely go for a ride.
On defense our ends may make the difference against a young set of tackles for WV. As long as the tackles handle their gaps, we should be good.
This one should be one in the trenches. I would expect to see a heavy dose of Tate/Fannin early, possibly with a little Eric Smith sprinkled in.
My unrealistic preditions, AU 56, WV 10. More reasonable would be AU 42, WV 28.
So im sitting in a suite for the UF/ UT game saturday afternoon
Good morning, HOTTIES!!!!!
AU 42
WV 17
Take it to the bank!!!
Mornin' All!!!
That's my prediction from last week MickyC - I think I'll ratchet it back a little for this week.
I don't think we cover the spreed of 7.
AU - 27
WV - 24
I believe a combination of better talent than we have seen to date on the WV offensive side of the ball and a somewhat unconventional defensive alignment will give the Tigers a little heart burn - but nothing they can't overcome with adjustments at half time. Late score by WV makes it seem a little tighter contest than it really was.
Tecmo Bowl version of the Broncos finish the other night.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=E09_jVpVitc&feature=player_embedded
With the 3-3-5, I just don't see the WVU defense closing in time to stop the multiple run threats that the Tigers have. While we might not get the 7.8 yards per carry like we did the first two games, I still say we garner over 5 per carry, which is good enough to move the ball steadily. The real test will be the passing game.
If Auburn can keep the deep threat alive (like the pump-fake 93 yard touchdown against LA Tech), I see the scoring staying above 30, which is the usual threshold of victory for Auburn.
On defense, I'm counting on our secondary and linebackers to cover the pass and our attacking defense to pressure (and hopefully sack) thier QB often enough to negate their deep threat. The big question is our down linemen against their (very big) O-line in the run-blocking scheme.
I don't think they can keep up with our offense, but it would only take a few miscues or turnovers to make this game tight.
Prediction: Auburn 35, WVU 24 and a subsequent ranking in the low 20s.
Sullivan013
I wonder how much havoc the 3-3-5 will play with our short passing game.
The 3 LB's better be good tacklers, othewise It'll be up to the DB's to bring down Tate, FAH & Fannin.
RK- Do we have a short passing game?
Most of our passes have been thrown 20 yards or less down the field.
Eddie,
Did you cuss Sensi on the show last night? I haven't had a chance to listen yet.
RK- I tried to dog him a little bit, but I wanted to keep it PG. I wanted to let him have it when he picked WV again :)!
Tecmo Bowl is near and dear to my heart. Bo was so good on that game is wasn't even fair.

Norm!! Happy Birthday!!
Good morning, Hotties!
Just made my picks and don't feel good about them at all.
That was a funny article on Malzahn, Eddie!
Happy B'day, Norm!
I no longer think all batteries are the same.
how u feeling this morning Cincy? staying hydrated? we don't want to have you on an i-v for the game saturday.
Happy B-Day Norm!
After a night of drug induced sleep, I am at least on my feet. Whatever this was is some bad stuff, but doesn't seem to last too long. Thanks for checking!
Sullivan: Great to see you posting!
good to hear. :)
No offense Eddie, but I hate YouTube D-bags who do stuff like that.
Rk- I do to, but it's like a train wreck for me. I got to watch. The dude is crazy. Funny, but crazy.
