Sorting out the Oct. 10 TV schedule
Hey everyone. CBS, which has first pick in the SEC television hierarchy, has asked for more time to consider its programming options for Oct. 10.
What does that mean for Auburn? It means the Tigers will not be playing late.
Here's what we know for sure:

Okay, I'll be first!
Since it's not a home game, then let's get our morning game out of the way!!
speed and substance?
i agree morning games work to the advantage of the visiting team. i'm all for it.
CBS will probably pick up Alabama/Ole Miss, so we'll probably be a very early kickoff.
hey, wes! Guess everyone is working hard today (like I should be!)
Wes, put this on the last one right after the new thread went up:
Wes, pretty sure my buddy has an extra--one that was sold by the university to students. He's electing to sit with us...thus he's selling his. If you want it, email me at muxi87 at yahoo.com
Rerun:
Yea, UT didn't impress me at all against Ohio. They were definitely the better team, but made too many bonehead mistakes. They were playing starters and they gave up 340 yards of offense to Ohio. That is not a dominating defense or a top 5 defense in my book. It doesn't mean they are bad. It just means they aren't to be feared and are more comparable to MSU's defense than Alabama's.
I was thoroughly disappointed in the defense....thought they should have more pride than that. But earlier in the week one of the players commented that as long as offense was scoring they weren't worried about the other team scoring......weird
Judging UT's D vs Ohio against what we'll see this weekend would be a mistake.
thread UPZ, Vols Downz, while you other hotties bounce to this.
So, no ESPN or ESPN2 night games that night?
No, when CBS does a double header, I think they request ESPN to not take an SEC game to compete with it as part of the new deal.
First team defense allowed 70 odd yards in the game.
Both scoring drives were less than 20 yards.
The rest was all 2nd half vs mostly 2nd and 3rd team.
Compare the UT defense against UF if you like. UF had a weak passing game so they had troubles. Ohio had trouble running the ball, but the air was open. I expect us to see similar things. Also, I think we see a bit more FAH and a bit less Tate in this one. I hope we see Fannin catching some balls too.
WERK.. the #73 of Ball State (rt) had a false start. I found that ironic.
Aeronaut, some of the people that played weren't even 3rd team. They were scout team. I feel pretty good about our defense unless the injury bug hits or we have some key injuries. I will stick with my prediction.
Auburn 38
UT 17
Hey, I don't recall Ziemba having a false start against Ball State. Someone break out the funny hats and noise makers.
Back to work, thanks for letting me be first! Been a while.
Tennessee is about to begin a 3 or 4 game losing streak. After this one, Lane won't need his dad. He will need his momma.
A morning game will be good. Jay G will be happy. Good luck with that flight out of Tulsa.
Steve, I hope you're right with your pick. We will have to be sharp. But the best thing going for this team is they've seen adversity and we have plenty of firepower on offense. I hope it carries over to Knoxville.
I think the best thing going for this team right now is attitude and confidence.
Two things that were missing last year.
Well, at least one Jay will be happy.
I suppose I've got to figure out how to get DVR capability from crappy TWC.
Like I say, everything changes if we get the injury, penalty, or turnover bug; but I don't see Tennessee hanging with us. I expect something similar to what we saw in our first two games. Once Tennessee is behind by more than one score, they have big time troubles.
I'm not saying this information is wrong, but I find it hard to believe that the SEC would have 5 games starting between 11 and 11:30 AM. Also, the 11 AM ESPN game is always a Big Ten game and every SEC game on ESPNU has been at 6 PM.
Just find it odd that they would change it up like that.
It's almost puppet hour....
Wow, just read Auburn 2 pt dogs to the Vols
$11/month for DVR. I think that's silly.
Everything changes if I ran launches its entire nuclear arsenal toward Auburn, but other than that ... I say we got this.
AU 38
UT 27
Where's the TN/UGA game on this list?
LSU is also a 2 1/2 pt dog to the Dawgs...
J-Z, thanks for your comment this morning.
that's a legitimate question, PF.
btw, 2.0 has had 3 exams so far and has a 97 average!
Way to go 2.0, I''m proud of ya.
Kudos to 2.0.
dork....
I keed, I keed! Well done!
Steve FC ... What was our bet and how much did we have on it, because I think I might win it.
Congrats 2.0!!!
THT, are going to Knoxville?
By the way, what is 2.0 studying?
The AU/Ark, UT/UGA and Bama/Ole Miss games start times are yet to be determined.
CBS has to make the 1st pick.
I just don't see CBS taking any game other than UA-T @ ole myth for the 3:30 EDT slot on 10/3.
Perhaps if AU destroys TN, Arky destroys A&M, KY upsets UA-T, and Vandy beats Ole Miss, then maybe, well... never mind.
THT ...
That $10 per month I spend on DVR is worth every penny. It keeps Mrs. Jet occupied when I've got important football stuff to watch.
Also, it allows me to stockpile important football stuff to watch while she's watching "What Not to Wear on an Amazing Race to be a Survivor while seeing If You Think Can Dance" reruns.
wes - MrsTHT is working this weekend, so I'll be staying home and watching it on TV
IV - bling
I didn't order UT tix because I was scheduled to work this weekend, but mine got moved up to this past weekend.
AU lost the only time I went to Knoxville, so I've been a bit too scared to go back.
I think UGA will take LSU, but both of these teams I wouldn't bet for or against. I expect at least one of them to get their act together eventually. UGA has done that to some extent.
I would sure like to see MSU turn the tables on the Techies this weekend.
I thought College Football News has been drinking the AU Kool-Aid.
I was wrong. They're drinking Coosa-Aid.
They have us ranked 5th.
This is a most important week.
It marks the return of Tuesday and/or Wednesday night college football! Life is good.
CFN is either very smart or they are on some acid trip.
just read on twitter that Bodega is closing. My best memory of that place (which had to be recapped to me before I actually remembered it happening) was my 21st birthday. I shouldn't go in to details.
Why are so many bars in Auburn closing? Surely college students didn't stop drinking... did they?
New thread tutti
