First post: Friday of Week Six
Hey everyone. I had a moderately tough travel day on Thursday. I didn't get into Tulsa until 11 p.m. or so. I was debating when to write today's story -- yesterday morning or yesterday afternoon after arriving at my parents' house in Tulsa. Let's just say I made the right decision. The story is linked below.
My journey sucked, but I want to give Delta/Northwest some propers. After our second attempt to land in Tulsa failed and we were forced to fly back to Memphis, they easily could have washed their hands of it. Instead, they refueled the plane, summoned a new crew and we made a third (and ultimately successful) approach into Tulsa. To avoid that storm, though, we flew all the way to Kansas City and back down into Tulsa.
What normally is a 45-minute flight became a nearly two-hour flight, but we made it. Big love to Delta/Northwest for that.
Here's the Auburn situation at this moment:

TODAY'S SCHEDULE
Auburn is flying to Fayetteville, Ark., today. That trek will begin at the Montgomery airport. The team will stay in Springdale, located approximately 10 miles north of Fayetteville. I am chillin' in Tulsa with my peeps, going to a football game at my old high school (Holland Hall Prep) and kickin' it with my boy Woodhead alongside the gridiron. I'm pretty geeked.
Saturday's situation: I'm leaving Tulsa around 6:30 a.m. for the two-hour drive to Fayetteville. Traffic can get gnarly over there, so my goal is to walk into the press box around 10 a.m.
Here's what the next few days look like. All times are CDT:
Fri., Oct. 9, flying to Arkansas via Montgomery Regional Airport
Sat., Oct. 10, at Arkansas, 11 a.m. (ESPN)
Sun., Oct. 11, 4:30 p.m.
Mon., Oct. 12, OFF
Tue., Oct. 13, 4:30 p.m. (Chizik presser at 11:30 a.m.; some players available between 1 and 2 p.m.)
Wed., Oct. 14, 4:30 p.m.
Thu., Oct. 15, 4:30 p.m. (Tiger Talk at 7 p.m.)
Fri., Oct. 16, OFF
Sat., Oct. 17, vs. Kentucky, 6:30 p.m. (ESPNU)

I'm with your Dad after a lose All I would want to do is go home and kick the dog.
I didn't even realize we were close. O well flip it
Just got text from Jox radio that Byron Isom did make trip. And TV station in Orlando reporting Tebow will play.
Hope he is well enough to go
Nevada and LaTech tied at 7
I'm glad I'm not the mom of a kid playing who had such a severe concussion.
We can all talk all we want. The proof will be in the pudding. I think it's a close game.
I can say this with no uncertainty....the worst experience I have ever had on a road trip in the SEC was to Ole Miss in 1993. They thought they had us on the ropes and David Palmer won the game by himself...
They were livid. Whiskey Bottles were thrown.
Add to that the fact that they didn't have fountain drinks in the Alabama section....(Yes they were pouring them out of three liters)...
Faker - I can relate.... Remind me come Georgia week,
Nevada 14 LaTech 7 and they made it look easy.
We need La Tech to win don't we.
MYTD...yes.
For those that are fans of 'The Office' I found this clip to be funny.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xm3xlJ0yQOE&feature=PlayList&p=3538701D05E38DA4&playnext=1&playnext_from=PL&index=21
11:00 is just to damn early for a big time football game.
Latech is looking terrible after looking good at Hawiai.
I've calculated that for me to be ready for tomorrow's game, I must start shooting liquor at 9:45. I'll let you guys know how it's going.
ehyou...why wait until the morning? Start drinking now!
You're my hero ehyou
Ehyou do you do those "morning" drinks like bloody mary's or screwdrivers? It's okay to drink that stuff early in the morning.
Apparently El Toro is at home having his attitude adjusted? Jay G. - do you know anything about this?
At least according to reports Byron made the trip. I hope he gets to play.
We have to leave here at 6:30 in the morning to get to Fairhope before the game starts. I plan on getting in the car and going back to sleep!
I like alternating shots and bloody mary's when a morning drunk is called for.
I like a pickled okra, some peperoncini juice and lots of tobasco in my BMs.
Add me to that "you're my hero" list ehyou . That's awesome!!
BM's meaning bloody mary's right?
Supposedly Isom did make the trip to Arky...
I am very worried about the LB's for this game... Today has been a comedy of errors as far as things going wrong. I hope that isn't any indication of tomorrow morning.
yeah, I wasn't going to touch that, but glad you asked myt
Yeah, maybe "BM" is one you need to spell out.
D. Miller
What comedy?
D.Miller,
What did you mean it 'today has been a comedy of errors'?
One can lead to the other when if comes to BM;s... If taken to excess.....
OK, I'm ready.
How true LT. I also think it might even be expected.
I will also be getting up awfully early to put a pork shoulder on the smoker. It's gonna be a long, beautiful day.
Anyone got a link to where Isom traveled to Arky? Jeff Lee says he may have but wasn't sure. I hope he did. Question is does he play? I hope so. I will gladly be wrong in posting what I heard.
There is a good chance we will be nickle a lot of the game. I think we are okay in terms of linebackers for this game.
wtc,
I don't have a link, but did get a text from JOX radio saying he traveled and Freeman did not.
There was a time in my life when I would have started doing shots of 100+ proof liquor at 8:00am to get me ready for an morning game (yeah 3:30pm's still a morning game in my book)...I grew up and started doing Mimosas. Those gave me indigestion. Now, I'm likely to alternate drinking tall bourbons, neat, and shots of tequila...ehyou, we could be friends, but it's probably best we stay away from each other.
My shot of choice is Jagermeister. Not what you would call an early morning wake up drink. Although some buddies have introduced me to Jagerbombs and Stoli bombs (alchohol of choice and Red bull). And those are quite fun.
Can y'all remember anything about the game after drinking all of that?
I mean that as for me... what could go wrong, has gone wrong today....
Let's see... I busted my ass in the creek today, broke my brand new sunglasses (that I bought yesterday), got a hole in my waders, got back to the office at 3 but couldn't leave until nearly 7, got home about 8, stopped to get dinner and when the girl handed me my drink at the drivethrough the bottom fell out of the cup into my lap.... just been a long day.
wtc,
Jim dunnaway tweeted that Isom travelled...
mRtommyd. I did Jager early morning once. a liter and a half and 18 hours later, I knew my woman loved me. I can't smell that crap anymore. Red Bull helps keep my gag reflex in check.
Oh, D. Miller, I am so sorry it has been a rough day. I had that kind of day yesterday, but mine was more embarrassing. We won't go into that.
But, today was great. So maybe your tomorrow will be an AUsome day!
Cincy, yes...it's amazing.
Peter,
I'm glad for you. One mixed drink and I am under the table. I can handle 2 glasses of wine, but more than that and I am asleep!
what was that again cincy?
Dmiller-Good news is you got it out of the way today so Saturday wil be a great day.
interesting timing I had there
Dmiller-did you go to the ARAb game?
cute, mytommyd
by the way, my drinking habits are virtually nill nowadays. The Hangovers helped me know I was alive, but wished I was dead. I don't need those kind of reminders very often anymore.
guess I should call it a night if I have to get up at 5:30 on a Saturday morning - ugh! But I'll do what I have to so I see the start of the game.
Dream of bacon!
DM...were you trout fishing?
Night Cincy.
Inherent dangers aside, we should hang PF. Fun without question.
I happen to have vodka in my cabinet so Bloody Marys and vodka shots will work well tomorrow.
Come noon eastern I will be stoked!!!
Wareagle Cincy! Have a good safe trip!
Truer words were never spoken.
I am hoping tomorrow will be a better day... it's been a long week.
WTC,
Nope. I'm in B'ham. Didn't get home form work until after the game was apparently already over. Etowah won 21-14. It supposedly came quite a small flood near halftime.
Hoopie,
No trout. Today we collected Green Sunfish, Bluegill, Redbreast Sunfish, and Creek Chubs. Poor creek.
Yesterday, though, we got some Scarlet Shiners and Longear Sunfish and a slightly better assortment.
Dmiller-My family traveled to that game. They are doing an event for breast cancer in bham Saturday and decided to go to the game tonight.
Wife just called and said it rained hard for 10 minutes and then misted and cleared up.
Well gang, I'm gonna head out. Ehyou, I hope to talk to you at half if your on the blog, and if you can actually type at half. War Eagle everyone!
Fayetteville not bad.
Penicillin?
WTC,
I heard that they were there.
I hope their event goes well tomorrow.
Jet...ya hearing many War Eagle cheers?
jet-no comeback tonight 42-9.
Dm....I checked your profile. We relocated a creek near Charlotte, NC once and hired an environmental scientist to design the new creek bed, seine the creek, store the aquatic life and replace such into the relocated creekbed.
PF...
Gnarly dude. I bet he felt better.
Hoop... The stream restoration is interesting work.
what was wrong with the old creek?
We built a shopping center over it.
well... that sucks
I spilled water on my keyboard. It was working 5 minutes ago. It no longer works. :-(
posted from phone, cause laptop is now useless.
"What about you?"
I like that. Just watched the AF:ED episode 6. My only complaint... I wish they'd put the Ben Tate run where he sent Berry flying in the there.
Travis' speech was a good one.
This was done through an ACOE 404 individual permit.
Tried to get Ms Hoopie to view the penicillin link...she wouldn't do it. That guy has got to start doing something different...diet..meds...something.
AF: ED has got to be great for recruiting.
Penicillin link is awful...
it just keeps coming. amazing. there's a dead baby in there somewhere.
Hey, lookie there - we're one point better than Nevada.
Lots of Auburn fans on the streets of Pig Vegas.
Hog fans very tolerant of AU fans.
War Eagle.
I am out checking out until a.m.
Today we will watch DeAngelo and Blake prove all doubters wrong.
Today Travante Stallworth proves his worth.
BBQ time. No Drops.
Sleep well, my friends.
Is today a mustard sauce day?
This moment is dedicated to PF, who stays awake so the rest of us can sleep.
I'm honored!
Does sleep extend life expectancy? If so, does it really matter, I'll have the same number of waking moments, right? Guess the whole life events thing that's special might need to be considered. Screw it, I'll just eat healthier so I live longer and keep my "sleep when I'm dead" attitude.
PF
I understand your philosophy. It's not how long you live. However the short to mid term repercussions are important.
My brain needs rest and my body needs sleep for healthy metabolism. I'm off to 2 hours nap. :).
Morning, Hotties! It's football Saturday!!!
Don't think I will have computer access until tonight, but I'm thinking about y'all.
Let's go kick some razorback booty!!!
I'm smellin' bacon...
WAR EAGLE!!!!
WARRRRRR EAGLE!!!
GO TIGERS!!!!!!!!
Thanks, PF, I'll have this in my head all day, which may be a good thing if today's lectures are as boring as yesterdays...
Saturday night I want to raise a little harm,
I'll sleep when I'm dead
I'm drinking heartbreak motor oil and Bombay gin
I'll sleep when I'm dead
Straight from the bottle, twisted again
I'll sleep when I'm dead
Well, I take this medicine as prescribed
I'll sleep when I'm dead
It don't matter if I get a little tired
I'll sleep when I'm dead
War Eagle!
ONLY 4 HOURS TILL KICKOFF!!!
MORNING HOTTIES!
BEAT ARKANSAS!!!!!!!!
WDE
GOOOOOOOOOOD MORNING FAYETTNAM!!!!
Hate Bama!!
And obviously I'm a thread killer!!
'morning Hotties.
Ehyou...got the smoker going?... oh..and the drinkable BMs?
I was wondering the same thing Hoopie. I think he may be busy getting the bar set up.
War Eagle everyone!
Kill the pigs!
I sound like a 1970's radical
This ...
... is ...
SPARTAAAA !!!
I'm 54 and I'm a Man!!
Nevertheless because I'm 54, If I have more than a couple of drinks, I'm worthless. I'll be watching this noon game doped up on cold meds.
What up peeps?
Ben Tate's a Hero! He's strong, and he's fast, he's larger than life. Jennifer Saunders would be swept off her feet.
Good morning 'otties.
Get well soon 'Oops.
errr Bonnie Tyler.
FSJ coming through with his closet Auburn fan avatar today.
Peter..
I'm all about some BBQ'd hog today.
Well that's any day really.
Our nickel package has been weak. Our DL can win the game for us with a big day pass rushing.
HONK....if you wanna sack Ryan Mallett.
I'm going to believe it's more today...cause you love Auburn.
Good Morning Hotties!!!!!!!!!!
Anybody in the mood for Pork today????
I plan on enjoying some later!!!!
War Eagle!
Conquer the Swine and leave 'em with the Flu.
Observations from Hog Chi Minh City, FayetteNam.
1. It's actually a nice place.
2. The people are extremely friendly.
3. These folks love Gus.
4. Adore him.
5. Let's eat some bacon, sausage and ham, then pop an extra blood pressure pill.
War Eagle! No DROPS! DWWD!
Enjoy the game Jet!!!
Wish I was there, hate to miss any of them.
It's probably a pretty good place to watch a game at.
Hoopie ...
HONK! HONK! HONK!
I'm outta here ... heading to friends of friends for pre-game breakfast.
Why does feeding hogs bacon, sausage, and ham feel so wrong? Just 2.5 hours until smokin time.
Ms.Hoopie only serves breakfast pork on special occasions.
We will however, purchase a couple pounds of smoked pork from Scott's Walkup BBQ in Cartersville,Ga.
Yessir...we'll be eatin' pork.
Steve....that does seem wrong..
Of course when that whole Nutt..Mustain....Malzahn..... CellPhone records... Mustain's momma... thing was goin on, The Swine were definitely eatin' their own.
Today is unique. For one day I will be a wolverine fan.
Two hours till the bridge of the foot meets the prolate spheroid.
This is going to be one heck of a day of football. Bama should spank Ole Nutt. LSU and Florida are two pretenders. One will be exposed.
Some schmuck on ESPN just picked Arkansas. I don't see it happening. Arkansas has the worst defense in the SEC. That isn't a good sign for them.
Wow, LSU looks like one foggy miserable mess.
Steve- That is LSU on a good day.
Time to fire up the smoker.... I want ribs, and bacon, and bbq.... I am hungry for some pork!!
I can't believe we are a little over 30 minutes away from episode II of Is Sensi Crazy? I can't wait. The first episode was wonderful.
