Auburn to Outback? You'll have to wait
Hey everyone. This is just a short update.
Auburn may or may not be locked into the Outback Bowl, but that announcement will not occur today. Or tomorrow. Or the next day.
Mike Schulze, the bowl's communications director, said his bowl will not publicly reveal its participants until Sunday afternoon. He initially told reporters to expect an announcement tonight.

Thanks for the assist again Sean.
THT ..when growing up, my mother served collard greens and black-eyed peas on NYD. Said it was for good luck.
Did I mention that I hate black-eyed peas also.
Carm ...Bama-Hating-week opened a can-o-Hate. We can't just drop Hate that quickly.
Admit it everyone. Confess and set yourself free. You all have a bit of Tebow in you that is just dying to come out.
You think Saban wears Tebow PJ's too
I can't wait for Hate Week 2010...it's going to be Legend...wait for it and I hope you're not lactose intolerat...DARY!
Somehow I try to never picture Saban, especially what he wears.
Saban sleeps hanging upside down, wrapped in a cocoon of his own wings.
Greens....mmmmmm.
I think Saban is a tighty whitey guys.
Tighty whitey's suck... I am a boxers guy. But I am tempted to just say screw it and freeball most the time.
I think Saban wears leopard skin banana hammocks.
Hoopie - I love black-eyed peas mashed up with corn bread. Oh so yummy!!!
I have truly admired Tebow for doing the Lord's work. For the most part, the cameras caught him in the act while doing good. While he didn't seek recognition, he used such to get out his message and that is admirable.
Putting on unis and acting for the ESPN cameras is where I start having problems and questioning goals/motives.
Carmela, I must endeavor to erase the mental picture of Saban that you provide. Embrace your inner Tebow and step away from the dark side. Remember, Tebow avoided the evil empire, which is proof that it is the right thing to do.
I hate Tebow. Not because he's a bad guy, just because I can.
With that said, Go Gator.
Black Eyed peas are ok, but my family thinks they are a meal. They are an acceptable side item to a meat, but are most certainly not a meal.
THT ..my dad was raised on a farm. His "birthday" meal consisted of a bowl filled with cornbread and dried butterbeans, covered with buttermilk and ketchup. A side dish of raw onions completed the meal.
We kept this meal a secret from friends in the community.
I'm sorry about that Steve. What about J-Z's image. That's pretty funny. I will think if him in the leopard skin banana hammock from this day forward.
Looks like fun times today so far.
I don't want to add to the Tony Franklin count, so I won't say anything about Tony Franklin.
Crap! I did it again.
Carm ...I haven't met J-Z, but from what I've heard anything is possible.
I'm here to tell you, I HAVE met j-z and yes, anything is possible.
I was doing some measuring in Google Earth and noticed a "smoot" unit of measure (of which I was unaware). Interesting story behind it on Wiki.
I meant Saban!
Sure you did Carm. Sure you did.
I don't blame you Hoopie. I wouldn't let anyone know my dad ate onions, either (thankfully, he didn't).
Onions are just gross, blooming or otherwise.
I can't think of a single meal that a good onion wouldn't compliment.
I once snorted an orange pixie stick in the 7th grade. I still have nightmares. I do not sugest trying this. Although I did have ornage snot for a few hours.
I can't think of a single meal I'd eat if onions were involved. I'd eat shoe leather first. Or just starve. I'd rather eat a sumac salad.
Norm hasn't stopped snorting them yet.
pixie sticks are great! But I don't think I've tried the nasal route, yet.
I was good with the meal until ketchup became involved.
When I first read your statement, I thought you said Pickle stick... I was a little confused by what a pickle stick was... and I was really confused by how you could snort such a food item.
I snorted a pixie stick in high school. I wanted to cry.
I thought it would be cool....it wasn't.
Mullet I think that post alone was worth you creating an account here.
Norm you are a trouble maker aren't you? Wearing that patch did it to you.
My roommates girlfriend would mix all of her food together at waffle house, and then add ketchup, mustard and mayonnaise. It was gross.
I'm not fond of raw onions, but there are way too many things that I like with onions in them for me to refuse to eat onions.
I think I got the idea from watching Miami Vice with my dad on Friday nights. Oh those were the days...anyone remember that? The A Team followed by Miami Vice and then the original V.
Lol @ anyone who tried to snort a Pixie stick.
Related Note: Knew a guy in high school, loved to get a reaction out of people. Asked if anyone could get coke. So a buddy of mine said he knew a guy. Buddy goes home and crushes up pop rocks into a fine powder. Next day, Buddy sells some to Guy. Guy snorts pop rocks...hilarity ensues.
I hope Mrs. Tiger Woods did not sign a pre nuptial agreement.
Who didn't see this coming?
http://blog.al.com/chatter/2009/12/georgias_richt_fires_defensive.html
Man, Michael was right, you guys are idiots
Thanks Carmela, but as Wakeriderof87 said it wasn't worth doing.
Kathy that is step 1 of getting fired as a head coach isn't it?
Harrison, pretty much everything I say is right.
Funny article about Stanford RB.
http://sportsillustrated.cnn.com/2009/writers/phil_taylor/12/02/white.rushers/index.html?eref=sihp
Not made to be funny, but it is.
Sean...I thought you were gonna end that story by saying the guy went home and got a Coke (the carbonated beverage kind) and gave it to him the next day. That might have been funny as well.
In a kind of related story, I knew a guy who use to work at EB Games and one day a customer was bothering him, saying she aught to get a free game for some reason or another. Finally fed up, he took a piece of paper and drew a diagram for tic tac toe and handed it to her with a pen and said, "There's your free game."
Good stuff I thought.
Not when you told me that Lou Diamond Phillips was the best kisser ever. You were WRONG!!
It's like Obi Wan said: A great many of our truths depend on our point of view. After all, Lou Diamond Phillips was(pretend italics) the best kisser... from a certain point of view.
and then there was the whole helicopter thing
This was a very disappointing year for GA fans. If Richt doesn't get things straighten out, he will be next Carmela.
Richt will be the next Carmela? Now that would be interesting to see.
Have I said that I love Toby Gerhart?
Toby is awesome. I don't blame you, PF.
Richt isn't getting fired...for at least a year.
You know who else is great? Emilio Estevez
I like his brother more... Charlie is awesome.
For those who think they don't like boiled peanuts...buy some frozen Hawk's cajun boiled peanuts, re-boil them, then eat them while they're still hot...delicious, especially when drinking beer at the lake. Strangely enough, Hawk's Peanuts is based in Tampa.
Btw Hoopie, the sugar in grits thing is just weird.
Boy I'm having trouble reading things now. For a second I thought Kathy said that Richt would be the next Carmela
Actually, that also goes for people who do like boiled peanuts. Hawks are the best!
THT, that helicopter thing has been blown waaaay out of proportion. Since when has anyone really cared about cats anyway? Jeez.
And as I have previously stated, the helicopter did fly... from a certain point of view.
Scott Chocolate... if you come to the bowl you can apparently tour the plant where they are made... I bet that is real exciting.
Mark Richt is the next Carmela?
Wow, I know changing coordinators can be a life altering event, but I didn't know it was that big.
If that's the case, how many times did Tubs change over the years?
MJT - you did the world, or at least Eurasia, a great favor in reference to those felines.
I'd rather have gotten a tooth pulled than have to do the bit of work I just did in the past few minutes. It was misery. But I'll take a life of that particular work over an onion.
I am 75% on attending the bowl game and about 0.75% on touring the Hawks peanut plant. With that said, if I am at the bowl game and see someone selling hot boiled Hawks cajun peanuts, I am 100% on purchasing and consuming some.
THT- remind yourself to never come to my house when you ever come to Auburn.
I've said it before and I'll say it again. Cats are the spawn of Satan. He had them just before accepting the bama coaching job.
THT did you see the game last night? Huge UNC (basketball fan) here.
and I was all like E-M-E-L-I-O!!!!
Yeah, Emilio Estevez is awesome.
Nice one SSGG
Hey, my cats would kick Satan/Saban's a$$! They are all miniature AU Tigers.
I watched M=B.
UNC seems to have some early season issues in closing out games. That said, it WAS Michigan State and overall pretty impressive.
So how does buying tix through Auburn Ticket office work?
Do I order and then hope I get them?
overall good game. I'm going to hate to root against them when/if they come to the Plains next year.
Buy your tickets with Tarheel Tiger Sean
THT, when are you ordering?
So what's everyone't travel plans to the game? Fly or carpool?
So what's everyone't travel plans to the game? Fly or carpool?
That would be sweet if the Tar Heels DID make it down to the Plains next year. Hopefully it happens.
Last mention of Hawks peanuts: I just read on their website that one of the founders is from Alabama. That helps splain why they're so good. I had worried that some yankee had created a superior boiled peanut. (Sorry for insulting any HABOTN yankees. I just have to do that about once a month).
I hope that happens too E-Bro.
I'm going to try to make it down for the last game at Beard Eaves this year.
It's like the German guy that invented Dos Equis...
M=B - I've already forgotten your question.
Sean - I'll order as soon as I get near 20 ticket commitments. How many do you want? The tickets I want to get for the Hotties are in Sec 232 so you'll know what you'll be getting, roughly. You'll have no idea what you'll get from AU ticket ofc, unless you have some serious inside pull.
oh, yes, I did watch part of the UNC game. Very young team will struggle early. Hopefully they'll get over their closing issues before March.
I'm flying. 710 miles one way too far since I'll be driving 487 miles one way to Pittsburgh a few days later.
Nice 1st day posting with you all. Might see you tonight if not I will be back here to kill time while at work tomorrow.
Tiger Woods signed a pre-nup, but it is being revised. Originally it said the girl had to stay with him 10 years to take half his stuff. Supposedly it is being shortened and she is being paid to hang around. Man, why am I talking about this. Yea, I read it buy I am still not able to actually care about Tiger Woods.
I'll never hate to pull against UNC when they play AU. I love UNC, but I LOVE Auburn on a whole nuther level.
4 to 6, my parents are being flaky...when do I need to know for certain?
Good analogy, Sean! Dos Equis actually goes well with boiled peanuts, by the way.
Now I had some homemade bawled p'nuts from some dude at a Braves game and they weren't bad. But I'm not a fan of the prepackaged kind.
Sean, if I can count on you for 4 definite, that's FANtastic. That brings us up to 10. Now if I can just get that cincytiger clan to jump on board ;-)
THT, any idea on where these seats will be?
i'm starting to lose track, let's see...
THT 3
digger 1
mytommyd 2
Sean 4 (maybe 6)
ok, there it is so I can find it later. Come on, Hotties! Jump on board and sit in the HASITS for the Outback Bowl!
Sounds like it's time to do an Excel sheet.
Section 232, but no, I don't know the exact seats/rows.
Sean, Hawks will probably beat any you've had, homemade or otherwise.
THT, wish I could commit to your block, but not sure when I'll know if I'm going to make the game. Regardless, if I do make it, I will make a visit to 232.
I could possibly be in for 4 tickets THT, I should know pretty soon.
THT, I'll let you know for certain tomorrow.
Thanks, Sean & Wake!
Hey, sweet. 18 more Tim Tebow articles on ESPN.com...
At this rate, tHT, you might surpass your goal.
Puppet Hour, blah.
Jet's Cliff Notes
1. Tebow was NEVAH going to UAT. That was a made for TV movie.
2. Raw onions are good, cooked are beter.
3. Ketchup is best avoided, but sometimes necessary.
4. Parched peanuts > boiled peanuts
5. Tebow draws too much attention to himself, and sure exceeds the limits of celebration too much to suit me. Even so, go Gator.
6. Sugar in grits and sugar in cornbread are abominations before the Lord.
Verily.
Puppet hour = time to drive home.
See y'all this evening, Hotties!
and Amen!
Onion rings = good.
I know this won't be popular hear, I do love sweet cornbread.
popular here*
Funyuns = Awesome.
Sweet Cornbread = ewwww. I get especially mad when my hushpuppies taste like corndog batter.
No sweet cornbread for me.
I'm sure PF can feel me on this, I really hate the sweet tea in Florida... its like this country is on sugar rations. I didn't say I wanted tea with a little sugar in it I want SWEET tea. Don't even get me started on places that use artificial sweeteners.
I truly love sweet tea; however, since I am diabetic, I have to drink tea with artificial sweetener and you are right it ain't quite sweet tea.
Ok...who was the imposter that said they believe in Auburn and love it the other night?
My parents drink it with the fake stuff too, and the one advantage to it is it actually dissolves in cold tea, meaning they can still have their tea at places that don't serve sweet tea. But there is no reason to serve it as the only option.
My friend told me the other day about some great new vegetarian place the other day. I don't get that either. There aren't places that serve only meat. And if there is such a place can you please point me in that direction.
Sometimes I sit and wonder
why is that frisbee getting bigger?
Then it hits me...
FSJ, don't try to deny it now, its pointless.
I've actually gotten to where I can drink unsweet tea straight with no sweetener...artificial or real...
I needed to....Milos sweet tea was killing me.
My parents didn't start drinking tea until they were well into their 20s. Dad was a milk guy, and Mama didn't drink much other than coffee and water -- and very little of that.
Once they started making tea, Dad liked it super sweet, and Mama didn't. So Mama made unsweeted tea that was hot when it reached the table and Dad sweetened the fool out of it. I was never patient enough to wait for mine to be sweetened, so I developed a taste for unsweetened tea. I usually drank Co-colers, which Mama kept in deep stock at the house.
All of that to say, sweet tea ain't all that to me.
Best sweet tea you can get south of Tampa is from McDonald's.
Wake, it gets better pretty much anywhere north of you and in the panhandle (also north of you, yes). Central Florida and the occasional South Florida place that carries it seem to not get the concept that sweet means to put sugar in it.
You can occasionally find somewhere that had good sweet tea, usually where you least expect it. There is a mexican place down the road that has really good stuff. Also went to a new upscale place the other day, which those types of places are usually the worst, and while it wasn't up to Alabama standards, it was surprising good.
LOL, wakerider, re: 4:29. Email me the directions on google map!!!
Iced tea, sweetened or not, is fine by me as long as it is brewed. No fake tea, and no fake sweet in my tea, says the dude who drinks fake sweet Diet Cokes all day.
FSJ - glad to hear from you today. Hope all is well on your side of the fence.
I'm doing fine THT...Thanks for asking.
Huh? Just got a "your comment has been saved" message and it stated that it may take a few minutes for the comment to appear. Weird.
I think the time stamp thingy is off.
LOOK AT THE SIGNS, PEOPLE! THE END OF BLOGGER.COM IS NEAR!
and the sign said long haired freaky people need not apply...
signs signs everywhere a sign blogging out the scenery breaking my mind
Another lesson from today was not to snort Pixie Sticks
Five Man Electrical Band
I bet no one else knew that besides us THT.
Mullet - yet another lesson, things from the Looney Tunes cannot, I repeat cannot be duplicated in real life. Doubt me? Just you try to jump off something while keeping your feet running then spin around in mid-air and make it safely back to solid ground. Go ahead. Try it.
Norm, where were you when I was in the 7th grade?
MB - I just checked your profile and did some calculations. As near as I can figure it, when you were in 7th grade, I was married to beta-wife, and living in the gump.
I proved my earlier post by attempting it at the ripe age of 6. I suspected it wouldn't work so I only jumped off of something about 6 feet high so I could absorb the fall. I mean, I'm not stoopid or nuthin.
Scott Choc-I think it is an establishment that is frequented by those that have an alternative lifestyle, if you know what I mean.
That is just what I have heard.
Painting the entire building pink kind of sets it apart.
On different subject:
Does the DC at UGA getting fired help AU land the GA linemen that have it down to us and them?
That question is for you recruiting gurus out there, which i am not.
If that was asked before, sorry I do not have time to read all the posts now.

OWWW NORM WHY?
I did like you told me and tried it, and that REALLY HURT.
Guys don't listen to Norm, if you jump off something and try to run back it will hurt.
FSJ-what are you testing?
This site was acting screwy on me earlier. I posted twice and it never showed up...
Meredith Baxter just said she was gay? WTH.
Wake - also, don't try the old step on an upturned rake maneuver. That one hurts worse. Especially if you're barefoot.
I was wondering that too wtc? Guess he'll wait and see who GA gets for a coordinator.
THT
Will know for sure Thursday but I'm pretty sure you can count on 4 from me.
Hmm, I don't think it does that to AU fans. Must just be you Faker. Blogger is trying to tell you something.
Not that there is anything wrong with that...but I can honestly say she hasn't crossed my mind since she guest starred on a Spin City episode years ago.
That happened to me too FSJ
Mullet Bammer you had the best lesson of the day.
That's FANtabulous, AUFan!!!
THT, I'm trying to find someone to go with me. I'm not too keen on traveling that distance by myself. My sister who usually travels with me can't get off on the 1st. She had to practically sign away her life just to get off last Friday for the Iron Bowl. I'm thinking my daughter might be game if there is something in it for her, like a quick trip to Disney World! I'll let you know soon if I'm in for at least 2 tickets.
Yes-nothing wrong with that, if you like that, but Ijsut hear dit and was sort of surprised.
That is all.
Carmela, you know being the new kid on the block I had to start with a bang.
Does anyone know if I can turn off the stupid "security alert" that pops up everytime I refresh? I don't care if there is unsecured text on this page.
M=B I'm newer than you if you've been reading for a year. I just saw that you are a Dolphins fan. Does that mean you used to be a Saban fan?
Great potential news, Kathy!
I've been reading off and on for about 6 months. I recently started reading more and decided to join the fun. Actually I didn't like Saban at all. They were terrible with him there. His little man syndrome doesn't work with grown men.
As info...the show about BBQ pitmasters starts on TLC tomorrow night at 9 Central.
Have no idea whether it will be worth a darn or not..but it is about BBQ so I'll watch it.
I see where Auburn is already offering pre-order tickets:
http://ev12.evenue.net/cgi-bin/ncommerce3/SEGetEventList?groupCode=FB&linkID=auburn&shopperContext=&caller=&appCode=
OUTBACK BOWL $70
In the unlikely event Auburn is not selected for the Outback Bowl, orders will be canceled
M=B that is good news.
By the way MB..
I'm a bammer and I don't have a mullet.
Although my hair is longer now than it has been in 18 years.
Has everyone been keeping up with my incessant posts? Tickets in the "Hottie Section" are $70 plus probably about $10 if we get at least 21 people. So about $80 instead of $70, but with comfort in knowing exactly what section you'll be in (232) and that you'll be with The HOTTEST AU FANS at the game!!! And you won't be staring into the sun.
You should probably post a photo to prove that.
FJS, my name is not mutally exclusive. Not all bammers have mullets, but everyone with a mullet is a bammer. Also not all bammers are bad, just most.
Sorry, FSJ
No problem M-B.
This isn't too bad is it?
FSJ?
Ladies, try to restrain yourselves...
Wow!!! There went my chances of hooking up with the ex Mrs. Elin Woods.
I know most folks don't use a photo of themselves for their avatar, but FSJ, that would make a great one!
There are plenty of toothless Gaytors with mullets in Lake City trailer parks....
I had a mullet for four days in mid October. I was not a bammer for four days, it was a cruel bachelor party stunt.
Business in the front. Party in the back.
Wow, a Five Man Electrical Band reference. This place RAWKS!
I can still remember their obscure followup 'hit' a few years later - an enigmatic little ditty entitled Werewolf. "and big brother Billy never did come home no more. . ."
Hey, they've got a website! Who knew?
Anybody see Kiffin's comments about the SEC Title game?
My bad....no hard feelings from any non-bammer mullet teasers out there. All in good fun right?
I did... I loved the comments.
He cracks me up. He has to be a reporter's dream.
M=B this place is mean. Don't worry about it.
He can't finish a paragrapth without getting a dig in at somebody, especially if that somebody is Urban Meyer and Florida.
That said, for such a relatively poor coaching staff (in his opinion) at Florida, two national championships ain't bad.
Kiffin is a reporter's dream, but his comments about Kentucky were a bit of a low blow.
You got my back in case it gets roudy...right?
Talk to you guys later tongiht, or maybe in the morning.
Totally got your back. Newbies have to stick together.
THT - I'm in my avatar picture. Does that count?
I went it alone.
So can y'all.
:)
I think I'll apply for my passport to visit Gator Nation this week. Down with the mullets!
See? Mean.
Ah, I'm just joshin'.
Freep, you can buy/download the Werewolf MP3 here
Who is mean Carmela?
Mean Carmela is the one 3 posts above you, IV ;-)
Are
Norm?
Count off.
1,2,3.
y'all think we can make this thing flip without Norm or our apprentice? I hope one of y'all knows how to turn the page. That's a life skill I haven't developed, yet.
Evening, Hotties.
Perfect timing, Kristina!
you and Earl going to the Outback Bowl?
Where is my War Eagle?
Yeah...I totally planned that...yes, I am just that good.
WARRRRRRRRRRRRR EAGLE, HEY!!!!!!!
We were just discussing that, THT. I don't think it's going to happen, but we'll see. When do you need to know?
I will be back. Off to do the whole good parent thing and read to my kids.
Thanks THT. I knew I could count on you. Where is Norm?
DANGIT!!!! Working for the man kept me from 2 flips and now being a dad and making myself some of my and THT's favorite desert keeps me from a 3rd.
