Should be an "interesting" game.
"Alabamians Eric Bledsoe and DeMarcus Cousins will have a quasi homecoming Saturday when Kentucky plays at Auburn. One of them sounded like he'll take a metaphorical chip on his shoulder into the game.
When asked Friday if the game held special meaning for him, Bledsoe said, "Yes, sir. It will. Because Auburn didn't recruit me."

Our oldest pug was rushed to the vet after getting sick repeatedly ... and we now know that he has diabetes! That's why he was drinking water non-stop!

Glad your pug is OK. My daughter has a black pug. She had 2, but she lost the daddy last year.
Auburn could win - I know it would take a miracle (or two) but stranger things have happened.
Umm, somehow I don't think we need to give Kentucky any incentive. This is like a fly against a fly swatter, which is a shame.

Jay G, no need to apologize! We know that not only are you a busy man at work; you have a family too. I'm glad that you discovered your dog's problem and that it's treatable. My dog drinks water non-stop too. I put him through a battery of tests - including two different surgeries - all to no avail. I think it's all psychosamatic (sp?). Now that he's older, he has leakage problems too!
Chiz & Co need to teach Lebo how to recruit! You don't listen to the grapevine.

Games like this are a reminder of why a coaching change is necessary. I don't have anything personally against Lebo, but these kids deserve a chance to compete. I can't really see this team hanging close enough to even keep the score respectable.

Triedd to recruit? Man, that is hard to figure. Did he try to dial his phone number? Man, got the first 5 digits in there, but by that point he was worn out and .... Um, what?
Tar Heel, I've read that there a lot of side effects with that drug. So, I bought something all-natural. Many customers have had left very positive feedback. It's enroute as we speak. I'm tired of cleaning up all his dribbles!
I guess we've been fortunate. Molly has had no side effects, just positive results.

On the radio the other day I think Jay made it pretty clear he believe Lebo is history. Hope I am not mis-quoting you, Jay. I think we he said was he can't see us winning another game. It is that bad.

Maybe at The Beav? Auburn's usually good for a mild upset now and again ... the one day that 60% of their threes go in.
I'll be hoping against hope today, but all I see is Patterson and Cousins absolutely abusing us down low.
Same goes for Bledsoe and Wall in the backcourt, but especially down low with the other two.
I pity Brandon Knox today.

I am going to try to watch this game, but I won't get my hopes up. I am assuming we will try to have a fast break type of game. Just looking at the height of the players, why is just about every Kentucky player about 3 inches taller than our player? Sure, you can win with speed, but that just seems weird.

As for Cousins and Bledsoe, it's hard for me to imagine a scenario where even if Lebo does more than just ambiguously 'recruit' them that they come to Auburn.
Maybe I'm just selling our program short.
E-Bro, I think you have to have the attitude you can get any recruit, much like ChizCo did. No way should we have a top 10 class this year, but we do.
our program had big names back in the day. Auburn playing in the SEC should bring in some big names some.
Ellis got some guys that could play. I loved the years Doc and Porter was here.

I do know that Lebo caught some bad breaks, but after this much time being at Auburn, a negative perception has developed which will be very difficult for him to change.
I was a big Lebo supporter. I thought he did a good job in several games last year and thought this year would be the big break out.
I guess that is why I am on such a big negative shout out now.
Lebo must go and the sooner the better.

Let the Hotties - esp.the alums - pick up the phone. I know they could do a better job of selling Auburn than Lebo.
It sounds like Bledsoe may have had real interest in AU...
People have made excuses for Lebo for 5-6 years now... and the first couple of years, it was understandable...
But, in year 6, we have regressed to the point that this may be the worst AU basketball team I have ever witnessed. And didn't Lebo say before the season that this was going to be his best team? I have been off the Lebo jalopy for a couple of years now... it seems as though more and more people are finally bailing on the guy.
Yes, I know attendance is bad... but attendance is always going to be bad for a bad product, and Lebo puts out a bad product. Do I think we could lure a Calipari caliber coach? No, and we don't have to... but we could get an up and comer from a mid-level school who has shown that they could get a team to the postseason. Even Billy Gilispi might be a good fit at AU... AU could attract a much better coach than what they have.
Today's game will get ugly... I certainly hope our football coaches can find other entertainment for the recruits than to watch this debacle.

The South carolina game... we were down by 7 with 2 minutes left... we didn't foul to stop the clock... Downey just dribbled around until the shot clock ran down... And instead of hurrying the ball up court (like we normally do, wildly and out of control most of the time), our guys walked the ball up with no sense of urgency at all. All the while Lebo sat on the bench, not saying a word.
At that point, he had given up... down 7 with 2 minutes to go? I've seen teams erase bigger deficits with much less time than that... despicable!

I was at the RV show yesterday (youngest person there, except a toddler conked out in his stroller) wearing Auburn stuff as usual, and a guy stops me from a campground booth (in Happy Valley actually) and says hey so what about Jeff Lebo. My response is groan what about him. He didn't like my unenthusiastic response and says he is from his home town in Penn and that he was friends with Lebo's dad for years. I told him I liked him as a person but that he was probably done at AU.
Kinda an odd story.
I can actually watch a lot of the games this year. I just wish they didn't make me ill.

I think Lebo is from Carlisle, which is about 45 min. from my hometown. I still think it's time for him to go.
Rumor is that he wants the Noerthwestern job. Not sure why they would want him, but he is just putting inthe time to get out of AU.
I recall a comment after about year 1 where he said something like 'if I knew then what I know now, I would not have taken this job.' I am paraphrasing and cannot recall where this came from.
That sure doesn't sound like someone who wants to be there. wtc, say hi to my in-laws if you see them in the scholarship room. Hopefully we will be joining y'all there in about 5 years!
And that's the difference between our menz basketball program and our football program: one set of coaches 'tries' to recruit quality players, the other set of coaches actually recruit them.
Even if the results were the same (which, in this example, they clearly are not), I'd still prefer the second approach.
BTW JGT & THT, I am currently submitting this post from a public interwebs setup at the largest annual veterinary medical conference in this hemisphere.

as a matter of public record, i was at that 2000 victory over UK. it was THE best basketball game i have ever been to. i thought the roof was going to blow off the BEMC. amazing.

UGH. At halftime, I turned to watch PSU-Iowa. Penn St is as bad as Auburn. In 7 minutes, they have scored a whopping 20 pts. They missed a lot FT's and 3-pt shots. Fortunately, Iowa is just as bad. They are both at the bottom of the Big 10.
What does it say when a school has a NC celebration right in the middle of their school's men's basketball game?
