DL with the top spot
RD!
Is this the Hatin' with Jay G Show?
I'm hatin' ... commme d'habitude.
Did I miss it again??? Or is JGT still hatin'?
Continue the John Mayer hate...
Is anyone else getting a lot of static? Must be all those snow flakes.
Jay why you hatin'
Hate is my last name.
Hoopie, lots of static on my end.
Stupid training. I couldn't listen.
JGT = Homer Hate
Oh, the 2 party system hate!
JG is a full-fledged Hatin' Homer this AM. I like it.
JG...the problem is Washington is the lobbyist. We need Mr. Smith to go back to Washington.
I'm not hating on either party because our bicameral system is a sham. I just stay out of it.
I instead focus my appreeciation on the men and women of the Secret Service, who keep our legislators safe. That's a very good thing.
As a side note, Mike Huckabee spoke at Faulkner U. here in town back when he was a candidate. We didn't cover it.
Just sayin'.
In case anyone was wondering, it still isn't snowing in Atlanta
i bet no one has mentioned the snow this morning
It still isn't snowing in Alabaster either.
Durn! I had to work while Jay G was hatin'. I missed the whole thing.
norm...
It isn't the training that's stupid, it's people in training that are.
Huge post-it note sized flakes coming down in Abbeville. About an inch of accumulation.
I just went outside again. I thought I might have seen two tiny flakes, but I decided that it was just my eyes playing tricks on me.
ehyou, I hate you.
The banks of the Coosa River are completely void of snow. The weather station showed a snow cloud go thru here at about 8:00am but it must have been so fast that it didn't drop any snow till it got to Greenville S.C.
As the rest of the state gets blanketed with snowfall, everyone points and laughs at Alabaster saying, "No snow for you!".
I've got a pic of the BIG BLIZZARD on Facebook if you're interested in that.
Saw that JG... You be careful out in those dangerous conditions.
Sorry I missed the hatin this morning but it was busy around here.
I always enjoy listening.
Thanks for your steadfast support, digger!
check out the pictures of me nude in the snow on my facebook page too!!
thanks Jay for the letting me be your friend on facebook
SNOW!
You are welcomed Sportswriter and Radio personality Tate. It really is my pleasure.
More info than I need Harrison.
OMG!!! THE SKY IS FALLING!! THE SKY IS FALLING!!!
Where, where Jet I don't see nothin
That's what you think Digger
Skip. skip some info
I think I'm going to die.
TWO INCHES of snow on my roof. It may collapse any minute.
harrison...
Those pics are great. Where did you get all those exotic animals?
You guys are delusional
That cracked me up, Jay G! It has FINALLY started here, but it's the finest snow I've ever seen - finer than frog's hair.
SnowMG!
ehyou..from Michael, but don't tell him I told you
Snowy AU campus
In honor of the Blizzard of '10, and the opening of the Winter Olympics, ElTurbo and I are sitting down to watch "Miracle."
A better shot of AU snow. You can actually see snowfall on This one.
I expected to see students walking to the library ... even on a snow day. There is learnin' to be done.
WE'RE ALL GONNA DIE!
Boss felt compelled to release employees at noon.
I will probably need a few sips of distilled spirits this afternoon....you know, to stay warm.
if i get stuck here in Montgomery and can't make it back to Auburn, who's gonna let me sleep on their couch??
well rats. I was at home and still missed it. I'm highly rectangular.
Holy crap, Paterno is now unrecognizable
http://pennstate.scout.com/2/945753.html
He doesn't look as mean without his glasses.
Harrison - wtc should have a couch for you
Hotties......
There's SNOW in Mobile.... the End is possibly near now!!!!
Harrison ...
WTC has a lovely selection of couches, sofas, and divans.
What about futons?
Question...... if it Snows in Mobile and no one see's it did it really happen? hummmmmmmmmmm
WTC = Way Too Classy for Futons.
I like Crutons!!!!
Is that what WTC stands for...Way Too Classy??
I always thought it was Wu Tang Clan.
WTC= "What Todd Chris!"
It actually stands for Women Took (his) Cojones.
ehyou - I echo Luv's statement of hate towards you, though mine's for a different reason altogether.
SNOW REPORT
The banks of the Coosa River are now white. Started snowing at 11:00 am and now have about an inch on the ground and still coming down.
Still snowin here in MGM.
Al Gore just ran past my window with a cup full of yellow snow. Should I tell him the old saying??? Nah, I'll let him figure it out.
Luv,
My side of BIrmingham is getting pretty good snow - you seeing much yet?
I don't see no stinkin' snow.
Still coming down here also. Streets still look OK hope they remain that way. I have to go at 1:00 and pick grand kids up at school. They called and said they will get out early.
Uh-oh. It's now snowing heavily in NW Ga. Wonder if there's any milk or bread left in the grocery stores.
Trussville has been getting a steady snow since 0930. We have at least 1" already.
Cincy, I looked out a window at about 11:00 and it was coming down quite nicely. I haven't had a chance to check it out since.
BTW, what part of Bham do you live?
I was out for a few errands this morning and was near Aldi's so I ran in to buy some honey wheat pretzels. I also bought some to take to my daughter as their Aldi's doesn't carry them. They had some red wine on sale (you know, for my cholesterol fight) so I grabbed a couple of bottles. So I'm in the check out lane with 2 bottles of wine and 4 canisters of pretzels. Everyone else is buying milk and bread.
And I got carded - actually had to take out my driver's license! Made my day :)
Chelsea area. Exactly one and one-half hours from Auburn :)
I don't know why, but I thought lived in Vestavia.
lots of reporters in the field for HABOTN Weather Central®
So every time I go to Sylacauga or Auburn, I pass right by you. I'll have to wave from now on.
Weather.com(TWC)had us forecast at 1"-2" last night. This morning the forecast was reduced to 1/2" to 1". Now that snow is definitely on the way, our forecast just got changed to 1'-2". I guess there's no substitute for just looking out the window.
I made a B in Aviation Meteorology class because I couldn't forecast well. I'm still wondering how they could accurately grade my "forecasts", when the pros can't even get it right. 31 years later I still think I deserved an A.
"Great moments... are born from great opportunity. And that's what you have here, tonight, boys. That's what you've earned here tonight. One game. If we played 'em ten times, they might win nine. But not this game. Not tonight. Tonight, we skate with them. Tonight, we stay with them. And we shut them down because we can! Tonight, WE are the greatest hockey team in the world. You were born to be hockey players. Every one of you. And you were meant to be here tonight. This is your time. Their time is done. It's over. I'm sick and tired of hearing about what a great hockey team the Soviets have. Screw 'em. This is your time. Now go out there and take it." -- Herb Brooks.
Gump weather dude says ... "Several more hours of snow to get through."
Cincy T ...You have indeed maintained a youthful appearance that would prompt you getting carded.
On the other hand ....and not trying to burst your bubble, but buying wine and pretzels for the "snow party" might get anyone carded.
My partners just called and cancelled our meeting ....Who has the corkscrew?
Cincy, that's a great moment. Congratulations.
NOW I see stinkin' snow.
Norm's in West Vance?
BEASLEY!!!
THT - you take that back. I don't go there. Though the last time I was there was the '00 IB and in that day I saw snow, sleet, rain, etc. Anyway, no that's not where I am. I'm about 25 miles North of ATL.
then why does the snow stink?
The Banks of the Coosa River have happy feet! It is still snowing, maybe 2" on the ground.
been a busy day hotties. just got back from buying my first semi-new car. yippee!!!!
My avatar now is acceptable to the weather in Atlanta
congrats, Scottie B!
thanks THT. i had a little wreck last weekend in my old Saturn so i had no choice but to get something new. got a 2007 Ion. very happy. it's navy & will look fantastic when i get all my AU decorations on it!
Scottie ..We just bought 2 newer used cars. The searches were more complicated because colors complimentary to AU were mandatory.
Red is out of the question.
as soon as i saw it Hoopie i knew it was mine. i wanted Navy or Silver. it's nothing fancy, but it is by far the nicest car i have ever had. i'm pretty excited.
It's been a busy day, but the last Valentine's order has just been picked up. Now I need to go buy Valentine's goodies elsewhere (for some reason my wife is over the chocolates for Valentine's thing). Time to go drive around in the snow!
Wish I had a "semi-new" car like Scottie B's to do my snow-drivin' in! Oh well, my 13 year-old ride does have 4WD, so I got that goin' for me.
Nice amount a Lake Martin. Using hydroslide for a sled. Fittingly 8 below was on USA network (ps they were able to rescue the dogs again).
good luck in the snow SC. i still need to finish my v-day shopping too.
SC ...I can see that you bringing home chocolates would be "ordinary". A mixed flower arrangement or go out for dinner is normally well received.
My hobby vehicle is a 1995 white Eddie Bauer Bronco (nicknamed "OJ").
We keep it around just in case 4 wheel drive or low speed chases are needed.
Actually, Hoop, I knew the chocolates from my place of business would only work once, so I haven't done that for a while.
JR, I've tried that hydroslide sledding. They don't steer so well!
I had a 1987 Eddie Bauer Bronco Hoopie I bought new in Jan. of '88. Man I loved that truck. Eventually put 36" Super Swampers on it and built the engine. Had to get the tires balanced at a semi-truck tire dealer. Finally let it go around 2002. Really fun truck.
Snowing pretty good here in Norcross, Georgia right now. Fixin' to head home.
my buddy back in h.s./college had an '88 Bronco II. it has a tan top & dark brown bottom with orange stripes. it was pimp. good times.
has = had
My wife had a Bronco II in college. You could turn it off and remove the key with it still in gear. She did that once came to my place got out to hurry me along and when she returned it was gone...down the hill into the trailer on the corner. Ah, Ridgewood Village. fond memories.
Scott - you are so correct and I have a few bruises that concur with your statement!
"Just sack up and pay for somebody's lunch, would ya?" -- me on the radio this morning
LGG Byron and I had Hursey's barbecue & slaw for lunch. It was my treat.
a Georgian luger died in British Columbia when he flew off the luge track into a pole.
Georgian as in the "republic" in Asia
poor quality video of the crash
Cincy... why is so shocking that you would get carded? You're only like 24 or something, right?
D Miller,
Don't under-exaggerate - I'm every bit of 28!
It is just so funny to me that they card someone who is so obviously over 21 :)
Jet,
I remember watching that hockey game. I think it was the first hockey game I had ever watched on TV. It was soooo exciting. I wish we had more moments like that.
Anybody heard how the roads are around the Ham? Specifically I-65...
I'm supposed to have dinner at All-Steak in Cullman tonight... wondering if I'll be able to get there.
THT,
I had just finished reading about this. What a tragic thing for this young man and his family and for the Olympics. I am surprised that doesn't happen more often - they get to going so fast.
DM,
From the report I just saw, 65 should be good going north. My niece was heading to Fairhope and got stuck in standstill traffic around Greenville. Haven't heard if she is moving again.
it's very very sad, Cincy. I can't believe they have those huge metal supports right next to the track. Major design flaw.
LOL @ JG: yeah most Pharm salespeople pull down big income. Surely one of them could pony-up for the cheap lunch. Some small town lawyers I know are the same.
My wife can't stand it when she goes with a group of women to lunch and they get out the calculator to "divide" the bill. If each is paying for his own, just throw down more than enuff and move on.
For the Hotties that missed it this AM on the 930 show....Sportwriter Tate was throwing considerable and random Hate.
Now if we can just get him to Hate Bama with us.
what's up hotties?
Who needs a sofa?
From the Way Too Classy guy on the net.
Do you deliver?
JayG-One of your photo guys snapped a shot of me and running partner this morning @10:30 as we headed out for an 11+ mile run. Maybe he can use the shot on the paper Saturday. It was enjoyable the for the first 6 miles or so and then the snow got worst and was sticking to my running gear. When I got back home, I had about 2-3 lbs of ice stuck to me.
Great times!
If you can pay, yes.
If you can't pay, you are just outside my delivery area.
Hey, Norm I have a free sofa for you. It comes with a condo - which is not free :)
Started back snowing hard again. big honkin' flakes now in East Montgomery
We are having a supper club gathering at the house this evening.
35 folks, Norm your invite marked return to sender for some reason. Calling it a mexican pile on. Chips, meat, jalopena, olives, tomatoes, onions, cheese, coconut, lettuce, salsa, sour cream, avocados. You just pile on whatever you want.
WTC- I have been invited to stay at your house if I get frozen in here in Montgomery. I don't leave work until 7 or 8.
Can I stay with you too, Wu Tang Clan?
WTC ... Where's my invite?
Hey Jet, your picture won't come through on my computer. It is considered "ADULT/SEXUALLY EXPLICIT". What on earth do you do in your profile pics, anyway?
Harrison-I live in Deer Creek. Ask the folks at the clubhouse for my address. My last name is Ingram.
I have no idea where that is. I will also need 12 Dos Equis Amber to go along with that dinner. Also, I need to borrow your toothbrush
I've got those ready for you.
Dinner starts at 7:00pm sharp.
Cincy - I offer a similar deal on a big screen tv.
wtc - actually, it turns out that 2 sofas are plenty in my house. F4* and Hot Wife are currently napping on the leather one by the fire. And another thing, I don't think I believe you about the invitation.
We've gotten a pretty good bit of snow and it's still coming down. I expect the boy and I will have some fun in it tomorrow. It's curious to me that I don't hear and haven't seen the many neighborhood kids playing in it this afternoon.
Shooting at UAH... within the past hour...
D M ...
Apparently 10 shot, but only 2 seriously.
Huntsville police spokesman confirming 3 dead, 1 wounded in critical condition. Shooter is apparently in custody.
No ID's
numbers could change...
Nope .. update ... 3 dead.
just 1 week after that kid was shot at Discover Middle up there too
how messed up can we get
don't forget to floss, Harrison.
I would also need to borrow a clean pair of underpants.
My daughter is a student at UAH. Thankfully she is home. Rumor is that 3 faculty members killed by a Biology teacher that was denied tenure this morning. That is rumor right now. I know a middle-aged woman was taken into custody.
And I live 10 miles from the middle school where the shooting took place last Friday. These are scary times.
I've been passed over for promotion, laid off, and a myriad of other crappy and negatively impacting things happen in my life. But I have never, not once considered harming another individual. People. I don't understand them.
I love crunchy cheetohs, but it's probably not a good idea to eat them while using the keyboard.
okay...'it' has finally arrived over here in east Jawja!
Auburn,AL - Feb 10, 1973 20 something inches of white stuff...hell of a good time!
Waynesboro, GA -Feb 11, 2010 slightly less (haha)...wishing it was 1973!!!
Just saw the luger's wreck. Whew.
I remember the '73 snow in Montgomery. I was in 3rd grade and school was released early. For most people that is. Instead of picking me up from school, my dad was outside engaged in a snowball fight with his coworkers. So instead of getting to play in the snow with my friends, I got to sit in a room for quite awhile waiting to be picked up.
Norm ...
In the 1973 snow, I remember ML and I made a snowman in the vacant lot between our houses and threw the football with some neighborhood kids.
In high school, we had another snow, and ML put on a buttoned down shirt (unbuttoned), some early 1980s too short gym shorts and flip flops and went for a walk.
That was a weird, weird boy.
All you little children!!!!
I remember the snow of 1973 all too well but I plead the 5th!
But will say Auburn University was a very good place to be at the time!
Missinit ... my brother was at AU in '73.
And now; apparently, he's a weird, weird man.
Yes, Norm. Yes, he is.
Everybody enjoying the snow today?
We have just over 4 inches when I measured about an hour ago and it's still coming down. I have to admit that I didn't see this coming nor believed it when I heard.
Took the girls out in and was disappointed that it was more of a powdery snow and snow man could not be made. Oh well. Enjoying the snow and looking forward to the opening ceremonies tonight.
I heart Flo of Progressive Insurance fame.
Roll call!
What time did it start snowing in your area?
How much so far??
Is it still snowing?
I live in a latitude slighty above Auburn over here in GA. Will probably get roughly the same unless it just snows slap out.
We got our first snowflake in east GA bout 4pm EST
Oh, Jet.....
In case your brother knew me....I still plead the 5th!!!
Just kidding, just kidding!!!!
missinit:
Started around Noon.
Have just over 4 inches
It is snowing lightly now.
I live in Villa Rica, 35 miles west of Atlanta.
Is everyone enjoying the great southern blizzard?
Jet, don't know about you but I miss that guy. I wish he weren't such a hermit.
They should the luge wreck on the Olympic opening. I really feel for that team and his family.
showed not should
I shouldn't type and watch ski jumping at the same time.
Here in Trussville it started around 0930 and at about 1730 it was still snowing. I would say we got about 2.5-3 inches.

it's not supposed to be snowing here, so that must be an 1/8" of volcanic ash that has accumulated in the past 15 minutes.
i saw on the news evergreen got 5"
citronelle and thomasville got 4"
i got flurries and rain in mobile.
even my friends crosstown got .5"
we got diddly!
when does curling start?
riveting...
The Winter Olympics...The games where white people get to feel good about themselves.
It looked like we got 3 or so in East Vaughngumpery ... it snowed pretty much the whole day.
Didn't stick good until lunchtime.
The south usually gets "polite" snow. It comes in and makes things pretty, plays with the kids for a few hours, and leaves before it wears out it's welcome.
The snow up here is the guy who gets kicked out of his house and comes to crash on your couch for the night, which turns into weeks, months...
that may be volcanic ash outside after all. Sure tasted like it. Not nearly the flavor of our Jan 30 snow.
Good thing I had a big bowl of ice cream with Hershey's syrup waiting for me inside.
wtc - I see your previously mentioned picture made it into the online edition of Homer's employer.
Oh my gosh, wtc, I had to go drink a cup of hot chocolate after seeing that picture!
From an email I received from someone at the Montgomery QB Club meeting:
Chizik talked about getting the call from Jacobs on a cold Iowa night (0 degrees) telling him they wanted him to come back to Auburn. He said he was so excited but remained cool since his wife was with him. She asked what that was about, he told her it was Jacobs and they wanted him back at Auburn. She responded "well what did you tell him", he said that he told Jacobs he would give him a call back. Chizik told his wife they were going to do like they always do, go into a room and pray about it and talk about it together and decide. As soon as they got home, Chizik said he took a left and his wife took a right towards the bedroom, he said "where are you going?" she responded "You go pray about it, I'm going to pack."
Fun fact for the day ...
It snowed in 49 of the 50 states.
he told the same story in robertsdale, al at the AU club meeting. that was like april or may so it was not long after he was hired. luper was with him and i more or less got sold that night.
poor hawaii
what about u.s. territories?
where do you guys see the photo?
wtc,
Have you thawed out yet?
Cincy ...
His brain is permanently frozen to have gone running in the snow.
AHHHHH!!!! PUPPET HOU....... oh wait, never mind. Bed time.

great chizik speech funny stories and stuff
we only got 2" of snow, but since we weren't supposed to get any, I guess I'm happy. Despite its shortcomings, it is absolutely beautiful, much more so than the 5-6"we had 2 weeks ago. Just doesn't taste as good.
Very poor timing by Google today on their home page.
Jet - that just proves global warming, cause the peak of Mauna Kea almost always has snow on it during the winter.
Is that a dead Luger on Google's homepage? Wow... Poor taste.
This is totally off topic, but so clever - and you know I love clever.
Amazing Guy
jhag,
Thanks for the link to Coach Chizik's speech. It was great!
Cincy,
Like Jerry said that is unreal. He is really good.
We got 3" of snow here on the Banks of the Coosa and some bad roads during the night. Wreck killed a young lady on Highway 77.
Just outside the Gump, a 26-year old mother of two was trying to pass another car on a country road, lost control and plunged into a pond. She got out alive. Her boys, 4 and 2, sadly, did not.
Jet I saw that last night on the news. So very sad my prayers go out to that yong mother . She will need all the help she can get.
With all that sadness, let's put on a happy face and flip this page.
Snow Day flippage, GET SOME!!!
I think that would be one of my worst nightmares - to survive an accident that my children did not.
