Morris, Fletcher earn high praise

Hey everyone. Hunter Morris and Brian Fletcher, a pair of young men who play baseball at Auburn University, were named to the All-America team today.

A deserving achievement, if you ask me.

You didn't. But if you had ...

Morris, a first baseman, was named to the first team. Fletcher, an outfielder, is part of the second team.

Morris was the Southeastern Conference's Player of the Year after leading the league in homers, RBI, slugging percentage and total bases. Not too shabby. He was a fourth-round selection of the Milwaukee Brewers last week.

(It's pronounced "mill-e-wah-kay," which is Algonquin for "the good land.")

His final line looked a little something like this: .386-23-76.

Fletcher went .357-22-75. He was an 18th-round pick of the Kansas City Royals.

PF - don't you sleep with the enemy? So are you really asking for one ticket for an AU fan and one for a GA fan?

It happens every day. It's been pretty lame through the spring. Most good puppet hours are dependent on Michael and Harrison both being present, but Harrison appears to be on a six month vacation.

SFC - some things never change, even the manufactured holidays. Mother's Day and Father's Day ALWAYS fall on Sunday's. You're welcome.

The USA should be awarded that goal and final score should be 3-2.

Blogger digger4au said...

USA scored very late in the game and got a penalty call and goal removed. The call was so bad that even the sleezebags watching the game said it was bad. In fact after watching the replay it was VERY obvious that a call should have been called against the other team.

First it's goal differential and then total goals scored. It might be head to head as well, but that hasn't always been the case.

1:17 PM
Blogger E-Bro said...

Not necessarily. We have to see what happens between England and Algeria first (they're about to kick off). If England win today, we can't have them draw when they play Slovenia b/c then it gets complicated. If they Algeria win or draw, we are in control of our own destiny.

No. It's a figure of speech. I think it means I just killed a sasquatch or something. I'm no good with figures of speech.

After reading the story, I must admit that I didn't believe Peeler. But after watching the video and hearing his captivating theatrical story, I am tended to think it might be true. Well, either that or his wife needs a shave.

It is confronting to know that you can chase off a 10 foot Bigfoot by saying "git" over and over again. Remember folks, the key word is "git".

Well, you'll be confronted to know that I made it home in time and my refrigerator may survive. My work continues.

Norm - make a post for every refrigerator resuscitation and we may get another flip tonight.

Does anyone else think it will be weird to have a giant building right between the 2 outdoor AU practice fields? I wonder how much shade it will create and if that will impact the turf. ...I know, but what else is there to talk about?

THT - happy to oblige. The refrigerator has already been resuscitated more than once.

The first story I read today said the indoor facility would be built over the current artificial turf practice field (it's sandwiched between the two real grass fields). I couldn't see how that would work. Run out of bounds and WHAM!!! into a brick wall.

But here's an updated story with artist rendition. They will turn two fields 90 degrees from what they are now

Look out folks!!! I see a heated discussion of the growth of grass coming on.

I desperately need some football and not any of this soccer football. Soccer football as phone sex is to sex. It just isn't the same.

Blogger Norm said...

You'll have to flip it without me. Hot Wife, F4* and I are heading out to eat.

5:23 PM
Blogger Tar Heel Tiger said...

I disagree. I pay a lot for AU football. I don't pay for soccer.

I suspect we might save the flip for you, Norm. Have a delightful dinner.
