Practice Five (8/6)
Hey everyone. Here is what You Need To Know:
Here are your results from today's pass-rush drill. Keep in mind that defenders have the advantage here. I occasionally award an "E" for even ... which generally happens when a defensive lineman gets a good push, but is forced too far outside.
Raven Gray (43) vs. Andrew McCain (75) -- 75, 75
Sen'Derrick Marks (94) vs. Tyronne Green (71) -- 94, 94
Mike Blanc (93) vs. Jason Bosley (68) -- 68
**Bosley leaves the drill while clutching his lower back.
Blanc (93) vs. Clay Clark (67) -- 93
Jake Ricks (91) vs. Byron Isom (57) -- 91 (knock Isom backward on his rear), 57, 57
Antoine Carter (45) vs. Ryan Pugh (50) -- 45, 45
**Nobody can even engage him. He swings his arm and he's gone.
Cam Henderson (92) vs. Pugh (50) -- 50
Jomarcus Savage (47) vs. Jared Cooper (79) -- 47, 79, 79
Derrick Lykes (97) vs. Kyle Coulahan (58) -- 97, E, 58

This is Ryan Pugh getting beaten by Antoine Carter.
This is Raven Gray getting pushed way too far outside by Andrew McCain.
This is Derrick Lykes going at it with Kyle Coulahan.
This is Jake Ricks and Byron Isom dueling. Note that Isom is in almost ideal position. He "won" this one.
- CB Aairon Savage, as reported earlier, is out for the season. Coach Tommy Tuberville said doctors surgically repaired Savage's right knee this afternoon. Walt McFadden was running with the first-team defense today.
- Practice began late because of rain and was cut short because of lightning. They worked from around 5 p.m. until 6:35. It was the first day of full-pads contact.
- C Jason Bosley was injured during the pass-rush drill. He grabbed at his lower back and was off to the Athletic Complex within a few minutes. ``If you're a big lineman out here in this heat, you're going to twist something," Tuberville said.
- Freshman CB Harry Adams made a nice interception during 1-on-1 drills. The throw was a fade route from QB Chris Todd to WR Phillip Pierre-Louis.
- WR Terrell Zachery made his way just beyond S Zac Etheridge and caught a great pass from freshman QB Barrett Trotter for a touchdown. Really nice play all the way around.
- Neiko Thorpe looks like a player to me. He gets beat sometimes, but he's almost always near his man.
- Another guy who impressed me is DT Derrick Lykes. He fires off with a lot of aggression, which is exactly how Sen'Derrick Marks opened his career at Auburn.
- I'll report results from the pass-rush drills in a bit.
- Auburn is holding a two-a-day tomorrow. Early practice starts at 7:15 a.m. and is expected to be the more aggressive of the two. The late show begins at 4:15 p.m.

Did Raven Gray beat ANYBODY today?
5 stars want to know
Shut out again.
Good grief. Well, for probably the best player in the state of Alabama the year he came out he was certainly no ace in the classroom. He was far from it. That means something even for a DE.
He had ACL surgery in December. He's not supposed to be 100% right now ... and he certainly isn't playing like it.
And if I've understood correctly he's not really adhering to the little "rules" of practice- or is that just typical rookie hazing they do?
I don't think it's disobedience ... he just isn't familiar with protocol just yet. It's not like he's mouthing off at anyone.
Just give him a minute.
Jay G ... 1)McFadden and 2)Thorpe. No one will even notice the difference. Except for one is tall and lanky and the other one isn't.
McFadden has some big wheels.
Either Thorpe or Harry Adams will be behind McFadden on that side.
They're working D'Antoine Hood on the other side.
In an unrelated note, Powers has been playing like a stud so far. He was outstanding again today.
Yea I think that Hood is going to be a good one. You know he was that solid 2 star guy. hmmmm rankings got to love 'em.
In another note I was watching a video from Evan W. and i didnt realize you were the one who asked tubs the furr qeustion..."do you really wanna know" Tate said, "I really wanna know".......
who was the mystery qb??
Just about to comment about Adams and G made it happen. Adams is a world class speedster that, so far, hasn't look half bad at corner. You hope he can pick it up as he does have a speed cushion others don't.
You'll have to wait for the secret QB!
Speaking of QBs, are they off limits for interviews right now? Haven't heard a thing.
If we're talking secredt QBS...gotta be Fannin. Gotta be.
They were off-limits today, yes.
I haven't written much about them lately becuase there hasn't been much going on just yet. Scrimmage will change that.
Mystery solved!!!
A 9th grader named Tuberville!
Ehhawww!!
first we were blessed to have the greatest auburn blog in the history of earth (for free i might add), then came.....hi res video, then came.....hi res photography!!!!!
hallelujah! is there nothing you can't do sir? :) see, that was so worth missing the open house for. thanks.
Crudup = spoiler.
Now I won't even make the video.
(Actually, I move video from camera to computer ... and the only cord I use is Jeffrey Lee's ... and he's in Auburn ... and I'm in Montgomery this morning ... so, um, yeah, it's crudup's fault.)
No, it's EW's fault. He tooted the horns already.
