Prelude to 8/20 action
Hey everyone. I just made my first appearance of the year on WMSP's morning show. Those guys are a real pleasure. You know how Longshore likes to poke fun of my weight? I ran into him the other day just as I was leaving my morning workout. Oh, the irony.
(I'm 5-10, 210.)
He was in the Y registering one of his kids for a program. I think that's the first time he's rolled into the gym in a while. The front-desk people didn't know who he was. Oh, the irony.
Anyway, here are some Auburn stories to whet your appetite. Practice starts at 5 p.m. Video and HABOTN Insight® to follow around 9.
IF YOU'RE WONDERING ABOUT THE PIC ... I just felt like we needed some superstar appeal this morning. Nobody reinforces HABOTN ideals more than Snoop Dogg: Reserved ... yet committed to coming correct.
IN TODAY'S EDITIONS OF THE ADVERTISER
8/20: McKenzie emerges as a two-way threat
IN PREVIOUS EDITIONS OF THE ADVERTISER
8/18: Tigers try to recharge batteries
8/17: Tigers' offense shines in scrimmage
8/16: Pierre-Louis already thinking big
8/15: Auburn's Trott thrilled about offense
8/14: Swinton no longer a one-hit wonder

Longshore's a tool. Literally. He's a tool that enforces uninspiring, unintelligent radio.
Jay G,
Just curious, but does it ever get monotonous to write about practice for a solid month? Is it hard to come up with interesting material?
It seems that at this time (weeks before the first game) all writers write essentially about the same story lines. It gets pretty hard to read for me, at least, in anticipation of the season.
So is it dull, or just sort of business as usual?
YUP, NOTHING RE-ENERGIZES THE SOUL LIKE SOME MORNING SNOOP. FO' SHIZZLE.
Add Leryn Franco to your blogroll of super hot women in the world.
Plus, she's into sports!
Hated I missed you on the WMSP morning snore. Will you ever be on the afternoon show in Auburn?
Jay,
Those dudes in the AM like to stir it up dont they? Try to make you a villian it seems.
I, for one, cannot think of one single Auburn fan who doesn't appreciate the work that you do. Keep it up buddy.
mr. sensible...
HEEELLLLOOOOOOOO PARAGUAY! :)
hahaha PARAGUAY!!!
This is a challenging period for beat hacks. We can't see practice; we don't really know what the news is. So we have to write feature-type stuff about players until we get some game data to analyze.
It hurts the HABOTN's luster in a sense because I can't show practice video, no pics, no pass-rush results. It's just ... passing along what Auburn coaches and players say.
Folks were fired up when practice started, now w/o practice reports to analyze it is indeed more doldrums. We're cool with you JT, just do what you can.
Thanks for the support, Alan.
(Should have mentioned that earlier.)
Sorry if this didnt come across, but I wasnt try to offend you, Jay G. I was just curious as to how folks in your position do what you do when there isnt much to really write about.
I gotz much love down in the Port City.
I wasn't upset, hippy. Not at all.

To all:
Apparently, Longshore wants me to do their show on Wednesdays now. It's a tough call. I feel like doing his show regularly means I'm somehow glossing over his years of douchebaggery toward me.
I don't need the exposure, you know what I mean?
Looks like Hunt is out.
I say do it. What's a little more name recognition going to hurt. No need to prolong the inevitable. Y'all can be like Finebaum and Pat Dye, they don't actually like each other much, but the conversations are sure interesting.
