Wednesday update

Hey everyone. Thanks to the everyone for commenting like mad in last night's thread and making me laugh. And cringe. The HABOTN certainly has the most creative and open people around. Good golly.

ROCKIN' AND ROLLIN': As first reported here yesterday, the HABOTN is taking its show on the road beginning Thursday. We'll trek to Little Rock, Ark., for the SEC Women's Tournament and will arrive in time to watch Tennessee likely destroy (possibly just beat) Alabama at 6:30 p.m.

The top-seeded Tigers open play Friday afternoon at 12:30 p.m. against either Ole Miss or Arkansas. You know we'll be blogging that event with unusual fervor.

OWNAGE: As first reported here Wednesday night, the Auburn men defeated the Crimson Tide by four points. That represents a season sweep (second time in three years) and officially makes Auburn a hottest SEC team. The Tigers (20-10, 9-6) now have won seven of their last eight games.

Is that enough to get into the NCAAs?

Probably not. If you read PMarsh's (free) blog earlier today, you'll see that at least one person believes Auburn should be dancing in two weeks. I disagree. The team has been impressive lately, sure, but there is work to be done.

Auburn needs two more wins. That's my story.

Why is the SEC considered such a weak league this year? Does everyone have a bad out of conference record? I know LSU is the only elite team in the league, but how many times has kentucky been the only elite team and that been normal?

Remember how everyone was talking about how down the SEC was this year in football and the Big 12 was better, until the bowls came around? It's the same deal to me just cause Ole Miss and Vanderbilt were up and Auburn and Tennessee were down doesn't make it a weak league... I am fairly certain I have just exceeded the word per post limit.

Two ex-UAT football players become State Troopers and are assigned to patrol in south Alabama.

One night, they see a car with an Auburn tag speeding, so they hit the lights and pull the driver over.

After getting the Auburn's fans license and registration, they confer for a minute.

The first trooper says, "We want you to drive down this road for 15 miles, then we're gonna pull you over again."

The Auburn fan says, "Why?"

The second Trooper says, "Because we can't spell Andalusia, so we're gonna pull you over in Opp."

Tubs took Shula on a hunting trip after the Brodie-sackathon.

Shula, being a city boy, had never been hunting before.

Tubs says, "Mike, just head that way, and when you see wild game, just shoot it."

Shula starts tramping through the woods, and comes through some brush, where a beautiful naked woman is standing.

"Well, hello," said the woman.

I created a little steamer and everything. Have to start the great pepper jack search. for some crazy reason (its been 5 years since I've been there), I first thought it was munster. I had some Monterey jack laying around, and it was closer, but still not there. I'll get it.

I have just decided to step up and provide a prize for the winner of the Official HABOTN Bracket Challenge.

The winner gets lunch at Hamburger King on me.

PF - first we tried the microwave, then also figured we needed to replicate the steaming environment. I did a real elaborate setup in the oven that included a cookie sheet filled with water and the chips and cheese on a rack on top of that, all covered in aluminum foil. Burned the chips. I think I may be able to tweak this method and get what I want, though.

Anyway, bed time, goodnight freaks.

Did anyone really expect PMarsh to say anything different?

Good writer, but rarely critical of Auburn.

Is our game vs LSU Saturday on TV anywhere?

It's this kinda stuff that I've missed the past two days!

With those shoulder pads, Alexis (Joan Collins) would have been a heck of a linebacker.

Jet, we need to start getting our hate on for the TN-AL Women's basketball game tonight (6:30)!!

Luv (DQ DC) ...

I have to ignore such games because I maintain ill feelings for Ob-Knoxvillians, too.

The Hate-O-Meter tends to jam when they play.

So, you've had a bad experience in Knoxville? We haven't been there yet (although we're headed up there during football season), so I haven't garnered any hate for them yet. I really like the Lady Vols and I have tremendous respect for Pat Summitt. Besides that, it really doesn't matter who UAT is playing - I always want the other team to win!

Poor Alabama.

Their women's team has lost something like 40 consecutive SEC games and Luv still is ready to get her hate on!

Dip Cone ...

Whoever's playing UAT is my long-standing policy, but the Not-So-Lady Vols are nails on my chalkboard.

Back in the old days before the NCAA Women's Tournament was completely legit. Auburn was the No. 1 seed, and Tennessee was the No. 2 seed. But the regional semis and final were in Knoxville.

Translated, Auburn was trying to make its first Final Four, playing at Knoxville against Tennessee.

Guess who won? Still irritates me.

That sounds shady, Jetarsky.

Thankfully, the women's game has attracted enough attention to make the tournament legit.
