Post-practice reaction, 4/5
Hey everyone. Here are a few other note-worthy things we learned today.
Photo credit: Todd Van Emst/Auburn University
- Marcus Jemison has, in fact, been moved to linebacker. He's 6-foot-2 and weighs 205 right now. He wants to add 20 pounds before the season starts. He'll be playing behind Craig Stevens on the strong side.
``It was the coach’s idea because of the way I come up from safety and throw my body at a guy when I hit him," Jemison said. ``He liked that and then I have a nose for the ball. He said that’s the way I’ll get on the field quickest, so I’m with it. As long as I’m playing, I’m with it." - Eltoro Freeman, previously known as Stevens' backup on the strong side, has moved to weak-side linebacker. That's a permanent thing. He played that position in high school and junior college, so it should be a straightforward transition.
``The move went real good for me. I've been playing what I wasn't used to," Freeman said. ``One day, Coach (Ted) Roof gave me a couple reps at Will linebacker and he liked the way I was playing so he was like 'OK, Toro, this the fit for you.' So then I went on in the starting rotation." - I thought Kodi Burns threw really well today. His motion still seems funky to me -- like he has too much weight on his front foot after throwing -- but he was pretty accurate today. Offensive coordinator Gus Malzahn told him so during practice.
- Former Prattville High tailback Justin Albert missed the 2008 season, his first at Auburn, while rehabilitating a repaired knee. He has drawn praise for his work this spring. ``I never sat out of a football game. And I love playing, I love competition and I was kind of frustrated. I was like, 'Aww, man.' I wanted to be out there, but I couldn't. So I just fought through it, fought through it and this year I get my chance."
- Gus Malzahn on The Quarterback Race: ``We don’t have a lot of our offense in now. It’s the base offense. After they get that down, we’ll start getting to the other stuff. But they’re competing hard. We went live with them again today. I think that’s the way you can evaluate the quickest. We’re going to find out what’s inside of them and how they compete."
- Mario Fannin looks bulkier ... because he is. The tailback said he's up to 230 pounds, which represents a 10-pound increase from his 2008 weight. It's all muscle. Still, he's not really satisfied.
"I kind of bulked up on my own. That's one thing coaches took into consideration because they saw I wanted (that) as far as a personal preference -- to get bigger and at the same time be fast. That's something they recognized something I was to do. Now it's a matter of losing a couple of pounds to get that speed back."

HOLY hat trick
Deuce
Did Gus say to tell me hi or anything?
His skinny calves did.
watch your mouth
I'll keep that information private, MonD.
Meaning you'll send it to me in a private message? Cool beans.
It's 71 degrees here right now and it's going to be 29 tomorrow night. It's raining and thundering like monster.
8 Ball baby!
Tray Blackmon
Acutally, you're behind the 8-ball.
We had hail here today. There was ice falling from the sky too.
13- Damn unlucky number
B. Trotter yea i'm gonna be the starter!
Jay, if you're still there. I had heard Marcus Jemison broke his leg last year, not a knee. Story I heard is that he was in one of those infamous two a day fights, and James Willis tried to break it up, tripped on a helmet, fell on Jemison's leg and broke it. Kinda funny in a weird way. Cause that's the kind of luck AU had last year. Don't know for sure if that's true, but something to look into..
just caught up on all the info from the weekend...great job Jay - Thanks
See you hotties in the AM
Jemison dislocated an ankle and broke his left fibula near the ankle. I was there to see the fight, but I don't see how anyone could tell who "did it."
There was a mass of humanity in that pile. Bodies were everywhere.
Thanks Jay. Was two a days as out of control as the fights seemed to indicate, or at least that was the impression.
Also, I always wondered what the whole story was on DeRon Furr. Almost sounds like they ran him off.
my avatar is cuter than yours FSJ.
Well, the beat hacks have many different views of how violent the 2008 two-a-days were.
I didn't think it was unusually bad. The DeRon Furr thing was questionable, surely, but everything else I saw was the usual roughhousing you'd expect.
Other beat hacks might paint a different view of things. I could be wrong.
Jemison to LB= Great Move!!
Kodi more accurate= I wonder can he maintain it!
J. Alberts is a great story. I think he played some of his senior year with that torn ACL... and was pretty productive. They say that was the only thing that kept him from getting the big time offers.
Wario @ 230# = WOW!
Interesting tidbit: I have golf class with Gabe McKenzie and he doesn't seem injured. I'm wondering if there is something else going on there
I am very curious about Fannin's weight gain. 220 is a good size for a tailback. I am not sure why he would change that, unless he wants to get into the power game more. It will be interesting to see.
With Fannin bulking up, that makes 3 power runners, including Tate and Smith. This could get very interesting.
PJ, Chizik said it was a "medical issue" ... not necessarily an injury.
Steve I bet Fannin thought it would help him avoid injuries like last year. Also dont forget Brandon Jabobs the seguel will be on the Plains in the Fall. He is 6-1 230. We should have alot of "thunder and lightning" for years to come.
Great update , jay. Big ups, man. Can't wait til A day.
Good morning, Hotties. Here we are again...Monday. (big sigh)
Thanks again for the great work, Jay G! Keep it coming! :-)
Monica, did you get that private message from Jay G for which you were hoping?
So Trooper isn't the only one who thinks our WR's need arms longer then 6 inches....
I think there should be a guy like Trooper in every work environment.
Imagine someone pulling something off the copy machine, turning around an Trooper hitting them with a pad to make sure they concentrate on not dropping the stuff off the printer.
Perhaps they should consider moving Craig Stevens to WR, if arm length is an issue.
A Good Monday Morning to all!!
Looks like I'll be a UNC fan tonight. I cannot tolerate MSU.
Good friends John and Teressa Lewandowski are at Michigan State. John was the basketball SID at AU back in the late 80s-early 90s.
I'll be pulling for the Spartans. Pulling for the Tar Heels seems like pulling for AIG. Sorry, Tar Heel Tiger.
I LOVE the "reach and get it" drill. You have to believe that if the boys ever learn to hold on the ball while Trooper is beatin the hell out of 'em things are going to get real nice. They evidently still have some work to do though
HAHAHA RK that was a great visual. How was the NMA concert? Did you hit bad weather?
LUV - No, I haven't gotten that private message sending me Gus love from Jay G. Maybe I should check my spam filter???
RK ...
That's awesome ... I'm volunteering to be the "Trooper" at my office.
I need a new AU cap to turn backwards, though.
Jet - you know John and Teresa?!?
tommyd = threadkiller :)
morning...
all...
countin down to aday..
BY the way... something even more nutty..
my profile is back today and I did not touch it...
TOO Wierd!!!!
You know DL it could be a government intervention from that whole missle thing.
It is certainly Spring, in spite of the recent cold weather spell.
John Longshore is beating the Bama drum heavy, Auburn is searching for an offense/a quarterback, and North Carolina is getting ready to cut down some more nets.
TommyD ...
Go to my FB page, and you can find Teressa to "friend" her.
I chatted with her on FB yesterday for a moment. I don't get to talk to John as much anymore... as you can imagine, he's quite busy.
Actually Jet we've already added each other. We marched in the drumline together and somewhat kept up through the years.
Mon,
The NMA show was great. Luther was on fire the whole show It was good to see them again. Hill Country Revue opened the show, and they were really good too.
We hit some bad weather on the way back for just a brief period, but apparently it was pretty bad back in Chattanooga. So I missed out on the worst part of it.
RK, i love the Trooper by the copy machine idea. wait, my office is by the copy machine.....and i'm wearing my AU cap today. very interesting..........
i may have to go grab a blocking pad from the warehouse and whack the next unsuspecting UT fan in the chest. (and yes, we do sell those pads here) this may be the best day of work ever!
I can't wait until some consistent weather gets here.
Yesterday the high was in the mid 70's here, today it'll be 40.
With the cool weather today, it ought to be a good practice. I am really, for the first time ever, looking forward to going to A Day this year.
Sounds like the dream job.
I work from my office at home on Monday, Wed & Friday so I could grab a big oversized pillow and hit my wife or the cat, but I don't think that would go over well.
it's a dream job alright RK. i daydream of big money every single day. :)
oh, heck, just whack the wife with a pillow anyways, but right before you do it you've got to scream "NO DROPS!" right in her ear.
I should have done that right as she fixed coffee when she got up this morning.
WarEagleRK, you might have severe burns if you had.
Hey, a small price to pay. We can't have any drops around this house.
i wish i had thought of this earlier today. my wife woke me up at 5:15 this morning in a rage. the pilot had went out in the furnace so she stepped into an ice cold shower.
somehow it was my fault. dunno why. :)
furnace/hot water heater/whatever.
I was wondering why you were heating your shower with the furnace.
This just in:
After fervent fan reaction, Coach Chizik has decided to allow fans into the last 45 minutes of the A Day game.
It is yet to be decided if fans will be allowed to watch actual football games this fall.
that's the way we roll here in east tennessee.
Bone to pick...
Monica, I distinctly remember you calling many posters here down during the Auburn Women's BBall season for referring to the coach as "Nell." You said, out of respect, we should write "Coach Fortner" and so on.
Therefore, I call upon you to refer to the football offensive coordinator as Coach Malzhan.
That is all.
Morning Hot Ones!! Thought I'd share an interesting statement about AU recruting thanks to P. Marshall. This is from ESPN's recruiting guru Tom Luginbill:
“Be on the lookout for Auburn to have a very nice class in 2010 with a couple of big surprises before it is all said and done,” Luginbill said after wide receiver Shaun Kitchens announced his commitment. “This is just the beginning for the Tigers, and now with a full and comple staff coupled with a full calendar year to make their mark, 2010 will be big.”
Jay,
Great work on the videos despite the limited access. It gives us at least some insight into what we can expect from the team this fall and how this new coaching staff is working out.
I must admit, I'm impressed with what you've been able to show us. I'm not drinking the koolaid yet, but I've got a big mug of it and it's looking pretty darn tasty.
Good work. Keep it up.
Sullivan013
Feeling of toughness coming back to AU, highly touted recruits looking to come to AU, Trooper, No Drops, trying... not .... to ... get hyped. Think about it, we are a confident/competent QB away from having a very nice season.
I'm a kool-aid drinking, blinder wearing, blind loyalist Auburn homer.
I hate Bama.
Jay Jacobs thanks you, ehyoutiger.
Mike Greenberg gets my award for line of the morning. He was making a pick for tonight's NCAA Championship game: "Michigan State has Karma, but you know what beats Karma - better players."
Sensi, your profile pic makes me sad. how about one of Kodi against UT, or UT-Martin?
i'm all for Kodi, but......bad memories man. bad.
Lousville and UConn had better players, but Karma won. That said, Karma ain't winning this one
Kodi vs UT or UT-Martin wasn't that good either, but I know what you are saying.
In my humble Opinion..
John Longshore
is an idiot...
I'm officially poor, I just purchased tickets for my wife and I to see U2 in Atlanta.
This comment has been removed by the author.
How's this one?
This comment has been removed by the author.
This is the time of day, I walk away from John and Barry (if I haven't already) and move over to Cowherd. More and more, I just stick with Mike and Mike.
You should do the same, DL.
much better.
JGT comments about Kodi's funky throwing motion (and it is), but my latest pick demonstrates his unbalanced running style. At times, it seems to me it doesn't take much more than a finger to knock him to the ground.
Just an observation...
If some fans are kool-aid drinkers, what are the other (more skeptical fans)?
Beer drinkers
I live my musical life vicariously through RK.
Gnome - Gus and I are luvah's. He doesn't know it, but that's ok.
Sensi,
They drink cool clear water for to quench their thrist - Van Morrison.
Kool-Aid Drinker Fans
vs.
Clear Water Drinker Fans
Here are a few observational comparisons. Feel free to comment of add to the list.
Kool-Aid Drinkers
Kodi Burns is an exciting athlete.
Clear Water Drinkers
Kodi Burns runs too much and throws funky.
Kool-Aid Drinkers
Gus Malzhan is an offensive genius.
Clear Water Drinkers
Gus Malzhan is the genius who decided Casey Dick was more important than Darren McFadden.
Kool-Aid Drinkers
Auburn's Linebackers and fast and quick to the ball.
Clear Water Drinkers
Auburn's Linebackers are small and don't cover the pass well.
Kool-Aid Drinkers
"Super" Mario Fannin is dangerous every time he touches the ball.
Clear Water Drinkers
Every time Mario Fannin touches the ball dangerous turnovers increase in chances.
Kool-Aid Drinkers
Auburn can employ the Spread and be a power run team.
Clear Water Drinkers
Auburn will struggle to find a half-way point between being a power team and a team running the spread with non-spread skill position players.
Kool-Aid Drinkers
Auburn has a talented group of assistant coaches building this team.
Clear Water Drinkers
Auburn has a bunch of assistant coaches looking to fast-track their careers and bail on the Plains asap.
I guess that makes me a Kool Aid drinker Sensi. Although I know the water's there, I just don't want to drink it.
Neither fan matters.
I'm not calling anyone out here. More than anything, I'd like your additions to the list.
Kool Aid Drinkers
Ben Tate is one of the three fastest players on the team, and could potentially break it on any play
Clear Water Drinkers
Remember the stretch play?
Jet Fuel Drinkers
... Realize that having a philosophy matters, and committing to it will be better than septic tankian offense we had last year.
... Realize that Kodi was our only true option last year since Todd couldn't throw the ball back to the center after week 3.
... Realize that Kodi may not be the option going forward, and that's perfectly OK.
... Realize that if someone wants coaches on our current staff to join their staff, that's a good thing.
... Realize that most of our problems last year were products of bad coaching and lack of cohesion among the staff.
... Realize that some level optimism is healthy, but not to blindness.
... Realize and embraces that hating UAT is a part of my DNA.
... Realize we are in better position today to be good in three years than we would be with the previous staff. Doesn't mean it will happen, but an acknowledgement that Tubs had sliced an artery.

Neither fan matters.
So, are you saying fans don't matter? ;-)
Jet,
Good stuff.
I will say this. For a staff that was "closed" and that was so bad at coaching, Auburn had longer and more sustained success than in just about any other era.
I must be drinking Jet Fuel.
"Gus Malzhan is the genius who decided Casey Dick was more important than Darren McFadden."
Actually, it was Mitch Mustain, not Casey Dick...and Arkansas was 10-1 with Gus calling plays, then Nutt decided to take over play calling befor the LSU game and Ark finished 10-4.
Whatever Gus was doing was working. Gus was calling plays when Ark came to visit us when we were ranked # 2.
smarty pants, you know what I mean
I'm saying our opinion doesn't matter.
I'm drinking Jet Fuel.
Sensi ...
Here's my crude response. Forgive my tastelessness. But it's best analogy I could conjure up on short notice.
Dale Earnhardt was a successful NASCAR driver, and enjoyed more success than any other driver of his era. Until he didn't anymore.
Like Earnhardt, they hit the wall.
RK,
I forgot about Mustain. However, he was benched that season in favor of Casey D.
Sam and Sensi are on the same page.
LOL at Jet.
That got people to look around the corner of the office to see if I was alright.
DL, I think the "BBQ" item sent up red flags at Blogger Pyongyang.
It is Opening Day! :D
Larger Wario makes me think, we're gonna spread folks out and run right at 'em.
Jet. DE died with wins and championship runs left in him. Can you say that the same didn't happen to TT's tenure at Auburn?
Sullivan013: Great to see j00 again!
I think the floor was about to fall out underneath Tubs and his staff.
He was euthanized for $5 million. He didn't suffer a bit.
On a different subject, has anyone posted or looked at yudu.com?
My understanding is that "Fan" is short for "Fanatical".
My definitions:
A true "Fan" is a fanatical supporter of the team and employs reserved positive or negative observations without emotional speculation. Many folks consider that booooooring.
A Kool-Aid Drinking Fan typically employs fanatical positive expections, gets overly excited, makes bold statements and then later becomes angry, emabarassed, depressed or apathetic when the Team doesn't meet expectations. Hopefully the Kool-aid drinking doesn't lead to Haley-Bop type actions.
All teams have both types of fans.
Gotta go back to work.
Hoopie! My man!
I am convinced had you been in the stands for the 1972 game -- maybe you were -- you would have golf clapped.
Jet, the no. 3 illustration was hilarious.
Hoopie, I don't think "fan" comes from "fanatic" either. It has some other weird root.
I like to think of myself as a fan, but not a zealot.
A zealot is someone who forgets his purpose and then redoubles his effort.
kool aid fan = 98% of bammers
jim jones served great kool aid. maybe $aban will do the same one day.
Has anyone ever drank kool-aid with splenda? My sister kept raving about how it tastes just like real kool-aid, and then I drank it, and it tasted horrible. Splenda is not good. All you splenda ingestors have been tricked.
FYI: The stories I list on the Twitter feed are aimed for mobile usage. You real computer users are welcome to click the link, but the page will be quite spartan.
Go MSU, btw.
I am not someone who gets sick, gets headaches, feels bad.
I started getting these HELLACIOUS headaches two summers ago. Daily. Some of them were so bad that I had to take a nap. I checked out fine with the doctor.
Started sleuthing my environment and caloric intake. Realized that Splenda was a new element in my diet. Read up on Splenda. Some Splenda users report HELLACIOUS headaches.
Remove Splenda (Propel, sugar-free icees) from my diet. Headaches gone!
Splenda = bad.
Does splenda have a chemical name, or does it just say "Made with Splenda" on the container. My wife comes up with these crazy mind numbing headaches, and now you guys have me wondering.
mrtommyd, wikipedia says it's sucralose-based.
Splenda is made in Jackson, Alabama, among other places.
Thanks for trying to put hard-working Alabamians out of work.
Of course, they're probably all Bammers, so it's all good.
Splenda usually contains 95% dextrose (the "right-handed" isomer of glucose) which the body readily metabolizes, combined with a small amount of indigestible sucralose. Sucralose is derived from table sugar (sucrose) through a patented, multi-step process that selectively substitutes three chlorine atoms for three hydrogen-oxygen groups on the sugar molecule. The tightly bound chlorine atoms create a molecular structure that is remarkably stable.[8] Splenda is recognized as safe to ingest as a diabetic sugar substitute.[9]
Thanks Luv!
How to tell that the economy is messing with people's minds:
ESPN.com has story about how Michigan fans are pulling for Michigan State tonight because it will lift the spirits of the state.
So what happens to the State of Michigan if MSU loses? The state gets annexed by Canada?
Already has, TommyD.
The governor was born in Canada.
As I posted before, paraphrasing Mike Greenberg:
Karma is in Michigan State's favor, but better players beat Karma. UNC clearly better players.
KoolAid drinker - Auburn is the greatess shool and team in the world.
Digger - Auburn is the greatess school and team in the world.
Only likeness between Digger and KoolAid drinkers.
LUV, you are wither the smartest person I've ever encountered or really good at cut and paste.
Sensi and Jet, I really enjoyed your earlier posts about types of AU fans. I think I drink Jet fuel with a splash of Kool Aid, just for color.
JAY TATE, any more talk about the possibility of Phelon joining the squad?
Again Good stuff JGT
Really special considering the short time you have.
What short time? Did I miss an ESPN rumor, Michael?
I dont care how bad the ecnomy gets in Alabama, I cant see AU fans ever pulling for Bama. Maybe Michigan fans are just more loving than us.
Me and you, BigCat.

Will, most definitely the latter!
While visiting an old country store in Gatlinburg, my wife and I noticed the guest book where a couple from Tuscaloosa, AL had left their names and the comment, "Roll Tide."
My wife signed a big "WAR EAGLE" and drew and arrow to the above comment.
I suppose two lessons from this are:
1) My wife is a card-carrying member of the Hate Everything Bama crowd
2) Bama fans are everywhere.
wewent skiing in west virginia this year. We step out of the car with Auburn hats/shirts on, and immediately get a "roll tide" within 10 minutes. we almost left
Why didn't I think of this sooner?
HABOTN blocking pads for the office and the home.
I'd love nothing more than to hit Elturbo and the Stewardess as the come down the stairs heading out for school.
NO DROPS!
Smoothie B, make this happen!
I was wearing my Titans gear that day and I got at least three Peyton-ites letting me know how lousy Vincy Young was/is.
Memories...
Hope everybody is having a great Monday.
Screw you.
Michael (or should I say mkhealeelle?)..
You should write greeting cards for Hallmark.
I'm sure they'd be big sellers, FSJ.
i'm unemployed right now so it is a great monday. fridays suck now because i don't get a check. but i'm working on it...
I have thought about making my own fortune cookies. The company would be called "Bad Fortunes" (clever, huh?). Basically, all the fortunes would be either negative or ambiguous. I think fortune cookies would be a lot more fun if they were like this. Instead of the ones nowadays that say things like, "When tough times come, rely on your friends" (which by the way, is not even a fortune), mine would say things like, "Beware of a strange death involving ducks."
how about "mis-fortunes"
Cannot believe there is still talk about Tuberville. He was one of the most successful coaches in Auburn history and a good Auburn man. Get over it. He is gone.
We need Deron Furr back. The secondary could use another workout.
Players should be able to hit coaches with large objects while they are attempting to coach during practice.
For the Kodi lovers, our team fell apart once he became the QB, not before. Check the record.
For the Todd lovers, he was done by the second half of the LSU game. He was much better than people give him credit for early, but that doesn't matter. He didn't last.
What were the early problems then? Bonehead penalties come to mind.
a day late and a dollar short:

Great job, Captain Late Idea. I already have ordered the letterhead, so I can't change the company name now.
They have a website online that does them virtually, too. http://www.dumb.com/badfortunes/
Steve, come on man, we were talking fortune cookies.
you ordered letterhead between 11:41 and 11:42?
Hahaha, well, I am a man behind my times.
virtual mis-fortunes don't taste stale and crunchy
It really is bugging me about McKenzie. I see a lot of potential in that guy.
JGT, I hear what you are saying about it not necessarily being an injury, but what else would it be? Did he fail a physical or something?
So apparently I am the 100th person who has come up with this idea. It doesn't matter, the Model T was like the billionth car made, but it revolutionized the industry. My bad fortune cookies will be the Model T of bad fortune cookies.
And yes, Harrison, I am often very aggressive when it comes to buying letterhead.
Yea Sensi Bama fans are everywhere. But we seem to get around too. My most memorable "War Eagle Moments" to date occured in Cozumel, Mexico and twice in Paris, France. Once at Notre Dame by a group of c/o 70 somethings and at the Eiffel Tower by a then incoming freshman c/o 2012.
Any chance McKenzie ate one of these new fortune cookies?
i'd put stinging inscets in my misfortune cookies. way funnier, and that's some super-bad fortune
BigCat,
Cool WE locations. You should submit that for the next commercial. Jazz it up a little of course.
I got a war eagle from someone on a train in Zurich, Switzerland. Surprised the crap outta me. They had gotten their master's in finance here.
And this year's spring practice seems much better than last year. Zimba hasn't torn the head off of any of our defensive linemen, yet.
I think Gabe is probably skipping offseason workouts to be on Dancing with the Stars or something.
McKenzie could be depressed because of the downturn in the career of his cousin Spuds.
Well, he isn't going to start a golf career anytime soon.
Steve,
He is still taking his frustrations out on food. He is allowed to eat now.
YoungPJ one of the coolest encounters on that trip happened with a 60+ year old Gator grad. His parents were AU grads and he came from a long line of AU Tigers. He said that the ROTC field was named after his dad or something like that. I didnt confirm that but we had a great conversation. That happened on the same day as the other moments. I guess I need to mention that I had on the most orange AU shirt i have so I was just attracting attention all over France! LOL
"Cannot believe there is still talk about Tuberville. He was one of the most successful coaches in Auburn history and a good Auburn man."
Well being one of the most successful coaches, and being the most recent coach, why would we not be talking about him?
The McKenzie thing reminds me of the Josh Dollard & Chaz Ramsey situations from the past couple of years. No info, they are just not there.
Chizik is the coach. It would seem the discussion would be centered on him. I don't understand the Tuberville fixation or the blame that has been assigned to him. It is pointless.
This new staff is interesting, but I do think it is made up of some guys that will be head coaches soon, such as Malzahn and Trooper. Roof will probably be around for a while.
Along the same topic of the girl scout cookies search on Amazon from last week.
You may want to go onto Amazon and do a search for "mothersday gifts".
Steve, we know you are a big Tub fan, but he made mistakes that hurt us toward the end of his run at Auburn. Yes he did some really good things at Auburn too, but most recently he did some things that hurt the program, and we are seeing some of the results of that right now...so it is being discussed.
The cool thing about this forum is that we can discuss almost anything that comes to mind.
Tub is being discussed because he was our most recent coach. We are going through our 1st spring practice without him in a decade, comparisons are going to be made.
People still talk about Pat Dye and rip on Terry Bowden and it's been a long long time since they have coached a single game.
I wonder how Terry Bowden's spring game at UNA was last weekend?
i heard they came up "short" of expectations.
My guess is they threw the ball a lot. The 5 running backs they recruited under 180 pounds ran for 52 yards on 41 carries and there were at least 3 or 4 fights and when Bowden tried to break them up, he didn't remember any of the players names.
I'm now a fan of Drop Necklace Austrian Crystal Rhinestones
LOL...RK..
Don't forget...He probably called his dad at halftime too.
Stack Bowden and Saban on top of each other and you might be tall enough to ride a couple rides at Dollywood.
Sorry, couldn't resist.
Weird that you would put those two boobs (Bowden & Saban) together and then mention Dollywood.
If only those guys towered over other men like Auburn's current head coach... oh, wait...
So all these coaches are short, and I can think of a bunch of other short head coaches, so can we say that scientifically, Little Man Syndrome is one of the most important characteristics of a head coach? It makes sense when you think about it. The need to control others and scream at kids are all symptoms of LMS. College football coaching is one of the only places where this behavior is acceptable.
Y'all better watch out, Terry'll sic his Deddy on ya
Michael,
Stallings was a tall drink of water.
So is Malzhan.
Bryant was over 6'2 as well.
And you can tell they are cool-headed. Not saying you have to have LMS, just saying it doesn't hurt.
I thought size didn't matter...
nobody wants to coach the az. basketball team. the locals are pulling their hair out.
if $aban stood on bowden's shoulders, they may be able to reach the little debbie oatmeal cream pies on the top shelf.
LUV...
We men know that is a lie.
They should go get Tark the shark, Scott.
FSJ and Luv,
I quote Peter Griffin:
"We all know that no woman anywhere wants to have sex with anyone. And to titillate us with any other thought is just bogus."
What does Peter Griffin know?
LOL Sensi.
Mr. Griffin is a wise man.
Scott..
I hear Mark Gottfried is available.
I'm drinkin' Jet fuel with a PBR chaser and then I'm gonna shiv 'em with the broken bottle and scream "NO DROPS...BEAR'S DEAD!"
I'm not very easily offended, but I stopped watching Family Guy a couple of weeks ago, because they ran one joke where I thought they went too far.
RK,
That show went too far long ago for me.
I did enjoy Peter's "What Really Grinds My Gears" rants. I have them in one audio file. If anyone wants, I'll share;just email me.
Over the line! Mark it zero.
Per ESPN...Miller rejects and now accepts Arizona job.
WNSP in mobile is running a promotion to win a dinner with $aban at an upcoming appearance down here. I think all you have to have is the most compelling reason you should have dinner with him to win the contest. take it away michael....
mikhalelele would be a stone cold lock to win that dinner...
The O.J. Simpson episode was on Family Guy last night.
"10,000 yards, 6 Pro Bowls, 2 murders, no convictions. Ladies and gentlemen, Orenthal James Simpson!"
"Screw you." made me laugh
What? I didn't accept the AZ job. I told them, "No, I'm not moving to Arizona. There's not enough humidity out there for me."
At 5-foot-8 1/2, I am the perfect height to be a maniacal football coach.
I have an overblown sense of self-worth.
I have a system in my trunk, and a soul full of funk.
Mon, re: facebook post... If you got da hook up, hook me up!
oh i got da hook up, darlin - you just gotta come gettchoosum
fsj, thanks for the update. the locals will be disappointed. they have a certain sense of entitlement and can't seem to understand why izzo or pitino won't drop everything and come running to coach a program that, while storied, is going to be in a shape similar to what lebo inherited.
Not funny Monica.
