Friday chatter
Hey everyone. I have moved south from Cincinnati to Louisville and will be headed home to lava-hot Montgomery on Saturday. The high here today was 75.
I may need to move soon. Not sure I can continue to handle three months of 95-100 degrees every year. It gets old. You current and former Gumpians/Lee Countians know what I mean.
Bryan Matthews, don of AuburnSports.com, reported Thursday that Harry Adams is headed back to cornerback. The move ostensibly was necessitated by T'Sharvan Bell's move back to safety. He had been been at cornerback.
Not sure what to tell you here. I heard nothing but high praise of Adams' receiving skills during spring camp. Everybody knows Auburn needs some playmakers at wideout. Maybe the Tigers' brass is prepared to cast its lot with DeAngelo Benton and Emory Blake.
Today's question: What is Auburn's worst opponent matchup in 2009? Alabama? LSU? Georgia? How about a resurgent Tennessee?

It's TIM CASTRO DAY on HABOTN, as officially declared by someone without any authority to do so.
GOTHT
DL, I don't see how you do that.
Frankly, I have not recovered from the AS* whop'in by WV last year... White is going but it is the third game.. we typically do not click until 5-6 weeks into the season
How did all your missile tests go yesterday?
one day you will rule a contry and have an entire agency dedicated to making sure you posts are tops on the Alter of JGT
weally exciting...
wow my spelling skills need another cup of coffee..
I say La Tech. A new coaching staff, a new offense, and still no #1QB going up against the team whose coach wanted the AU gig.
Ok, not really, but I refuse to acknowledge any SEC rivals as the "worst opponent matchup".
The worse matchup is with FL in the championship game in ATL.
How about that!!!!
JayGT - Pittsburgh summers are absolutely devine. And the winters are very tolerable. It's a fantastic place to live. Plus, I can't wait to be a Hottie on the HPensBOTN.
Ok, I'll have to agree with wtc.
WAR EAGLE!!!
A sparse cupboard necesitates recipe substitution.
I sure Harry Adams would rather play WR. He still can, it just may be another season. Cross training early in one's career can reap benefits later.
Enjoying my sixth day in the upper 70s, low 80s in the hills of Tennessee, I am thinking a summer home here would be a positive.
Yes Jay us Gump/Lee Countians know exactly what you mean about the temp. I will be posting from sunny Gulf Shores for the next few days. The high today is a just 98 degrees. I may need to wear long sleeves so I can feel like I'm at home.
The WV games scares me even without Pat White. Devine is still there right? I have never seen anyone make our defense look that slow.
It's Randy Stokes Day!
Hoopie ... I'm with you in re Harry ... put on the cross trainers and make the best of it.
WV is the bothersome one for me, too.
Overall, I'll say Ole Miss. Their balanced offense is the type that has given Auburn fits recently, and Snead is a helluva QB. Offensively, until proven otherwise, Auburn struggles with most anyone. LSU and Alabama could be there, hard to tell how their QB play will pan out.
Do you think Tennessee is going to be resurgent?
Good morning, Hotties! It feels like Saturday to me...maybe because I have the day off!
As far as we know, Geno made it through the night without any problems. The surgeon has to check him out before he can be released. Hopefully, we'll be able to get him in an hour or so. We are ready to have that little guy back home!
that's good news Luv. keep us informed. i need to take Tucker to the vet today. we'll see if that happens.
happy TIM CASTRO DAY to all the hotties.
my gut feeling says worst match-up would be @ LSU but what do i know....
Does Tucker like to go for rides in the car? That gets Buddy every time!
Tucker LOVES car rides. he is a great co-pilot. i have to bring a towel b/c it's a faucet of drool every time.
Jet....want cool summers? Check out Highlands, NC. Low ...tacky, tourist factor and sweet temps.
I'm gonna wimp out on the toughest matchup prediction. Toughest matchup? NOT Tenn. Ala, UGA, OMiss and LSU are different but have generally equal talent. Not counting injuries, it seems that coaching and preparation may make more difference than in a normal season.
I'm most afraid of UGA..if CMR ever decides to get mean, he always has a lot of talent. There have been a few UGA fan murmurs regarding such.
is anybody actually working today? the wife is about to hit Tartet & Marshalls. i guess i'll go to the gym. so nice to have the day off. :)
I'm not sure I can handle no HABOTN if Mr JGT decides to move.
yesterday was extra long, so today I get to be a zombie. Half-day work tomorrow and another double shift on Sunday. Who wants to give me a ton of money so I can just sit at home and HABOTN all day for the rest of my life?
I think the best team we will play this year is going to be UGA, but since no one really knows how good or bad we are I'm not sure who would be our toughest opponent.
I'm a little surprised that they moved him back. After the new guys coming in this fall, they'll have 6 CBs, and Harry makes 7. His speed could be very useful at WR. But that's why the coaches get paid to coach and I get paid to sit at a desk.
If I had it, I'd be more than happy to share THT. But I don't, which is why I'm playing on the HABOTN from work today.
rivals is saying that demetruce mcneal and joel bonomolo are very close to committing. I hope bonomolo commits just because his name is fun to say.
"Auburn could be close to picking up two new commitments. One of the top junior college defensive ends plans to visit next week and a commitment is already in the works. The same can be said about a top Georgia safety, who just recently picked up an Auburn offer. "

For all you drummers and/or chefs in HABOTNville:
Celebrated Rush drummer, lyricist, and
author Neil Peart is proud to announce
the launching of a new cooking
department on his Web site
(neilpeart.net), Bubba’s Bar ’n’ Grill.
The motto at Bubba’s place is
“Good Simple Food,” and Neil’s kitchen
alter-ego, Bubba, offers helpful cooking
tips and easy recipes — a modest variety
at first, to grow over time — presented
through stories that aim to illuminate,
instruct, and entertain.
Scottie....I work for myself and my partners. I'm trying to work at my home office today...and it ain't happenin'. So far a series of interruptions, b/c everyone else isn't working.
Thank you thank you thank THT. Yeah, I'm kind of a Rush fan, and really dig Neil's work.
bammer presents the greatest matchup problems with their 1-5-5 defense.
1 DT
5 LBs
5 DBs
they also have 6 LBs and 7 DBs to rotate in so they all stay fresh.
anyone see this?
andre smith needs a tom tom
apparently there is more than one city named bloomington.
who coulda figured that?
lost in the woods
Speaking of Andre Smith, has anyone heard who the sleeping rookie was at the NFL symposium that was woken up by Chris Carter basically chastizing him like a little child?
I looked at that story again, and I've thought of something. How many Illinois Weslyan colleges do you think there would be in Indiana? Then again, perhaps all that he was told was that he had a football camp in Bloomington. And once he got to Bloomington, he was supposed to call and find out EXACTLY which school he was then supposed to visit.
That's what happens when you sell your geography book.
One comment left on AL.com states:
'He drove around for 36 hours? That's nothing. It took him longer than that to run the 40 on Pro day.'
That's funny right there!!
Does anyone have a good RSS/atom app for the iPhone?
What apps do you iphoners use the most?
wtc,
I'm sorry that you're reading al.com comments... but, good find!
Dmiller-I usually don't but was very bored sitting around the house today.
If I ever do read them, I try to pick the AU posters out so I can read what they say. You can tell the UA pster becasue the comment wil have 36-0 in it somewhere and you can just scroll past it.
LSU will give us fits. With a QB and a resurgent defense, they are going to be tough, but this is the year of the Nutt. Ole Miss will be our toughest opponent.
congratulations cincinnati. you picked another winner. AS is going to get chewed up in the NFL if he thinks he is going to waltz in there and dominate. if he does dominate the NFL without trying, he is undoubtedly the greatest offensive lineman that has ever lived or will ever live. i'm pretty sure there is one person who already believes he is the greatest of all time. let's just hope he shows up a the bengals practice instead of the reds. the bengals better hire him a driver and specify in his contract that all the new cars he buys have built in nav systems.
Let's see.....I'm going to ILLINOIS Wesleyan, so I'll drive to Bloomington, INDIANA????
Bloomington Ill. is about 200 from Bloo..Ind. Just go to Indianapolis and turn left onto I74 and you can't miss it.
I can easily drive 200 miles in under 3 hours..so........why 36 hours?
Who was that Braves pitcher that got lost going round and round on I285? Pedro..???
Yes, Noel Devine is back at WVU this year. Jarrett Brown will be filling in for Pat White.
Mon: FYI, I went down the New River on a whitewater trip during my stay at the Greenbriar.
Veyr nice trip.
When were you at the Greenbrier?
Steve, is LSU going to start that kid that transfered from Harvard or plug in a younger highly touted kid, you know?? If they have solid qb play I like that pick as our toughest matchup. Always seems to be. I question WVA and how that program/team holds up under the quasi-new HC. Playing in Neyland is historically really tough although last time we played there was the most fun I've ever had at a football game!
It's been a few of years. I hae been twice and had a blast both times.
I think it was in 2004.
bo - exactly what was fun about the game at WVU?
WTC - I love it up there. Love Lewisburg - the little river town a few miles from The Greenbrier Inn. The New River is just amazing. I love fishing it and floating it.
Andrew Hatch left LSU and may have returned to Harvard.
LSU QB will be Mr. Jefferson, or one of the two stud signees who enrolled in time for spring practice.
Jordan Jefferson was a true freshman last year who played superbly in their final game against Arky and also in the bowl game (MVP, i think)
The Arkansas game is also going to be a match-up to watch. The QB transfer from Michigan is supposedly going to be the starter this year, he was very highly recruited coming out of HS. Smith, the RB who lit Auburn up last year(besides Noel Devine), returns and you know Petrino will have that offense ready. Playing at Arkansas has always been tough, as well. This is is one of those games that Auburn has to win to have a shot at a winning record.
Mon, Neyland is in Knoxville!
With thoughts about tht LSU game, I hope when our defense knocks out the opponent's starting QB this year, I hope the back up is a good dela less effective than what we experienced last year.
HA! Sorry, Bo. Read it too fast. I was wondering wth was fun about watching WVU kick our butt's or about hanging out with those hilljacks.
I liked your blog its nice. Keep it up good work!
Randyrun
wtc and Mon, did you guys happen to ride the New River trail (bike trail)? I'm an hour from it. I send people up the VA Creeper Trail everyday. It's actually a little chilly up here right now! Very un-4th of July type temp today.
Good posting in this blog. i like this!
Mr.Jojo
Very nice blog to like this!

it is going to be interesting to see how $aban gets his scholly numbers down to where he can bring in the nation's number one recruiting class.
the medical hardships are about to pile up.
two bammer players go bye bye
Just got in from Dolly's waterpark ... big fun ... Went on the Party Potty twice ... or whatever it's called.
I yelled "Round the Bowl, Down the Hole, Roll Turds Roll" as Stewardess and I circled the bowl and went down the hole.
And because stupid things happen to me (translated, I do stupid things), when I got back to the chalet, I wanted to hang my swimsuit on the rail, but of course, I was too aggressive and pushed it over the rail and down the mountain.
I had to drive down the road, and climb up the side of the hill to fetch the trunks. Of course, I slipped down working my way back down the incline.
Mrs. Jet captured photos that will be surely posted to FB in the next few days.
Apparently Tubbs and Saban missed being Tigers.

I hate it for the Bama players that won't be able to return to the team due to medical issues. Hope they are able to heal soon and lead productive lives.....
FSJ - how's the pickling coming along?
Wow, I really Willed it this time.
Impressive willing THT!
What did "W" call it? A Coalition of the Willing?
That was a devasting Will job by THT. We had Baskin Robbins tonight. It was kinda tasty.
Jet,
bring me a butter pecan sugar cone, please...
MrsTHT just bought a few GALLONS of ice cream today (2 for 1), so I'm going to have me a really big bowl, with Hershey's Chocolate Syrup, of course.

Chargers, Eagles, Cardinals, and ?Broncos.
He is an Auburn graduate
with a degree in Education. After his NFL career, he worked as a counselor in juvenile justice for several years. Since 2000, he has been a member of the All-Sports Community Service team in Tampa where he is Director of Sports Operations & Operations Manager.
He had some great quotes when he signed his Auburn LOI;
you can read them here
Thanks, Eric, for being a great Auburn man, and another Brick in the Wall!
And HAPPY ERIC "PINK" FLOYD DAY to all the HOTTIES!!!
WARRRRRRRRRRRRRRR EAGLE!!!
T-minus 63 days til kickoff.
I claim this blog in the name of freedom and liberty and stuff like that.
Aero, I salute you!
hi ho hi ho
it's off to work i go
my bama hate will not abate
hi ho hi ho
My Country Tis of Thee,
Sweet Land of Liberty!
Of Thee I Sing!
Happy Independence Day, Hotties!
God Bless America!
War Eagle!
American by birth, Auburn Tiger by the grace of God!
Happy Birthday America, and Happy Eric 'Pink' Floyd Day to Hotties everywhere!
nice song THT. i'll have that stuck in my head all day. AUsome.
we should be very thankful on this day of independence that we are free from the tyranny and shackles of the Crimson Tide. i want to give a special shout out to Patrick Fain Dye for making that happen. FREEDOM!!!!!!!!!!!!!
You got that right, Scottie B!
Famous quotes in American History:
"Give me 60 minutes to beat UAT or give me death!" -- Patrick Dye
"The tree of liberty must be refreshed occasionally with the blood of Cousin Humpers." -- Thomas Jefferson
"The Bamzos are coming! The Bamzos are coming!" -- Paul Revere
Memorable quote from the 1996 American movie classic 'Independence Day'
President : "Good morning. In less than an hour, aircraft from here will join others from around the world. And you will be launching the largest aerial battle in the history of mankind. "Mankind." That word should have new meaning for all of us today. We can't be consumed by our petty differences anymore. We will be united in our common interests. Perhaps it's fate that today is the Fourth of July, and you will once again be fighting for our freedom... Not from tyranny, oppression, or persecution... but from annihilation. We are fighting for our right to live. To exist. And should we win the day, the Fourth of July will no longer be known as an American holiday, but as the day the world declared in one voice: "We will not go quietly into the night!" We will not vanish without a fight! We're going to live on! We're going to survive! Today we celebrate our Independence Day! "
my differences with the bammers aren't petty
The bammers can have my AU shaker when they pry it from my cold, dead fingers.
did someone mention Tom Petty? i think of "Don't Come Around Here No More" and "I Won't Back Down" when i think of the cousin-humpers.
nice depressed!
And for those among our number who tend to get down in the mouth about where we are, just remember You Don't Have Live Like a Refugee.
scottie b, glad you showed some love to our fearless leader, Patrick Fain Dye. The Auburn-Alabama series as we know it today exists because of Dye's refusal to bow to the evil Bammer infidels.
I know there has been some concern over the loss of players during the off season. I have read where we have lost a total of 9 not counting the guys that went pro or Aairon Savage.
Today I read an article on Undercover about the 83 team and it happened to mention how many players that left the team when Dye arrived. It says the number was somewhere between 30 and 40.
Attrition? You don't know attrition!!! Pat Dye showed you attrition!!!
^^
3 were released. 2 went on medical hardship. That makes 5.
who else?
There were several in around the new year I believe. I can't recall the name, but I believe a couple were offensive linemen.
Are any of these OL missing?
Jared Cooper
Andrew McCain
Kyle Coulahan
Ryan Pugh
Mike Berry
Byron Isom
Bart Eddins
Lee Ziemba
Other than Chaz Ramsey, those were the only underclassmen listed on last year's preseason depth chart
I believe Coulahan is no longer on the team.
I was thinking the same thing, but wasn't sure.
I was thinking the same thing. I don't remember all of the names, but unlike under Dye, many left before the new staff was even in place. But losing 9 isn't that bad.
Aaaanyyyywaayyss.
So is 5 a big bad number? (I don't know about 9)
I have some of the names .. between December 2007 and September 2008:
DeRon Furr
Chaz Ramsey
Blake Field
Steven Ensminger
Antwoin Daniels
Blake Shrader
Lorenzo Ferguson
Bryant Miller
Alex Rose
Steve Gandy
Oscar Gonzalez
Bo Harris
Patrick Trahan
I think there were more, but I'm not sure.
Here is an article that mentions Coulahan leaving due to academic issues.
Aeronaut, I don't think 5 or 9 is a bad number, particularly with a head coaching change. More importantly may be where we lost people.
And thank heavens Steven Ensminger isn't still around or we would have jumped from ridiculous amount of QBs to ludicrous number of QBs.
I don't know much about greg smith, raven gray, and kyle coulhan. Slaughter left after UGA game.
I guess that would make it 9ish?
Ryan Williams, Chris Slaughter and Raven Gray have also left the program, but I can't remember the exact dates. This current roster has been hit hard by attrition.
Slaughter missed the Bama game, but was expected back. It wasn't until later that we learned he was no longer with the team.
Here is Goldberg's announcement of Slaughter, along with Ryan Williams.
I don't like seeing guys leave though.. may it be one, or more.
I don't think the case against J. Savage n co. was strong enough. Maybe the coaches wanted to scare the guys? I don't know.
Here is another article that chronicles the departures. Many of of them were after Chizik was hired or in mid january. I think these players jumped the gun and didn't wait to see what Chizik had in mind.
Okay. So we are back to Slaughter. Steve, do you know why Slaughter missed the Iron Bowl?
Do you know what reason Tubs gave for him to miss the Iron Bowl.
Do you know where he transferred to?
Aero, I think of players leaving after a coaching change as something that is expected and you just have to take into account. I think after Chizik got his staff in place, a lot of the attrition stopped because they bought into what he was selling.
As for the 3 players recently released from the team, all I have read is it was due to causing a disturbance in a classroom or something. I think this was a case of the coaches drawing the line and I take it as a good thing. My guess is that Fulmer would have still been at UT if he had the good sense to discipline his players.
I thought Slaughter was out for the Iron Bowl because of a family emergency, or at least that is what I believe I read.
I think the other linemen I was thinking of was Jermaine Johnson, who was never really a member of the team. He went Juco and then signed with Miami I believe. That is another portion of the attrition that isn't counted in these numbers. We lost recruits.
I take about 3 naps/year. I'm very tempted today. But I'll fight it since naps always tire me out more.
To stay awake, I concentrate on my bama hate.
I can assure you, Steve, that on 30th November a LOT of Auburn fans (myself included) knew that Slaughter had applied for transfer.
The official reason for him missing the iron bowl was that he is with his Mother, who is not well. Same reason was given for transfer to Valdosta State.
Auburn is closer to his hometown. (V. State is 2.5 hours, Auburn is 2 hours) However his former HS HC is at V State.
Historically .. half of xCTT's signed 4* and almost all of the 5* never played a single game. So I really don't want to make a separate category for a 5* decommit that's dumber than a bag of rocks.
ThT.
Keep the hate alive.
Dangit.. while ya'll have weekend, I'm sitting here waiting for the next radio chatter. I'm extra pissy today.
In the words of Eric Cartman: screw you guys, I'm going home.
In keeping with my vegetarian ways....we have just finished eating steak, bbq chicken, smoked sausage, hamburgers, & hotdogs.
Happy 4th of July to everyone and God Bless America.....and Apple Inc.
The first day with the hint of heat in the Tennessee mountains. It also looks like rain's a-comin'.
I'll fire up the grill for burgers later on.
Like Jay G, I'll be heading back to the Gump in the a.m. with thoughts of relocating to cooler climes.
Aeronaut, I am not sure what any of this has to do with Tuberville and how he would affect this season. Get over it. Live in the present.
jrehfklasdnhflasdhlaksd
Happy 4th PEOPLE!!!!!!
It's a BEAUTIFUL 4th in the Nation's Capital!
Mid 80's, partly cloudy, low humidity. It's been unusually cool so far this summer.
After watching the parade and visiting the Welsh exhibit on the Mall, we're home preparing brats and burgers and awaiting fireworks.
i think i heard somewhere punter patrick tatum and deep snapper rick? cherry left the team. don't know about the scholly impact.
I think...therfore I barbecue the hell out of some dead animals.
happy 4th hotties.
tonight's dinner will be two deboned stuffed chickens (1 broccoli & cheese) (1 crawfish dressing) from hebert's meats in LA, butterbeans, okra, some type of bread and key lime pie or cherry cheesecake. not all for me of course! i'll share.
then fireworks.
be safe all.
I do think the lack of attrition after Chizik assembled his staff says a lot. I also believe there is value in getting rid of players that don't really want to be at Auburn. Dye did it at Auburn and it worked out very well.
R.I.P. Steve McNair
The News Here
Very very sad
A tragic end to a classy competitor, Macho Grande.
Oh wow, very sad about Steve McNair. Doesn't he have a son that Auburn may be recruiting?
PMarsh is hinting that July may be an AU recruiting month too remember. I don't pay for his site so don't have any more details that that. Sounds like first-rate commits and secondary violations may be abundant.
Steve McNair, Jr, is a WR in Hattiesburg, MS. He's rated a 3 star by rivals and has not rec'd an offer from AU. I'm a huge Titans fan and grew up in Nashville. Was at the "Music City Miracle" against Buffalo the year we Steve led us to the Super Bowl. Steve just opened a restaurant in downtown Nashville two weeks ago. Nashville will always love him. He was one of the toughest football players to ever suit up in the NFL.
I met Steve McNair twice during my time working in radio and he always came across as a really classy guy.
I just hope that there isn't an even worse turn in this story.
I am a paid member of Undercover. There isn't a lot of detail, but they are saying the 16th-18th is to be a huge recruiting weekend.
Stars and Stripes weekend Steve!
mcnair was almost singlehandedly responsible for the best superbowl finish ever. dang, he was good.
Dreading the drive home tomorrow ... you kids have fun tonight ... be safe with the fireworks.

Well, I succumbed to a nap a few hours back. But even there, I kept up the bama hate. I dreamed that I typed an appropriate reply to a post, including the line
"my bama hate grows stronger"
I tried to be cute by repeating the line several times in the post, each one a larger font. To my horror, although the effect was there, it was in the form of about 100 repeated posts, each a larger font. And before I could delete them all (which wouldn't have really helped the thread length), JayGT used his magical erasure to restore sanity to the thread, along with a promise to ban me if I did anything that stupid again.
I'm not making this up. I'm guessing it had something to do with the "font battle" I was waging before my nap with some slides I'm creating in Keynote.
At this point it is all internet rumors, but supposedly AU is going to get @10 commits that weekend. already 2 will come fomthe a dback in GA and a JUCO lineman playing in CA that is from LA. i am sure the other side has heard that and will do something to counter it or at least have the talking points out to lackies (Longshore & Finebaum) to keep UA in the spotlight. I suspect they talk it up and if it doesn't happen, they can talk about how the tricks don't win over 18 years olds.
I can put a good conspiracy together if given the time.
that's hard core THT. keepin' the bama-hate alive even in slumber....love it.
i'm really bummed about Steve McNair. such a tragedy. he's just a few years older than me. it just blows me away.
wtc, it's awfully quiet in here.
I sure wish the rumors would go away, but alas, I know they won't. A lot can happen in two weeks. I just don't like the idea that $atan and his REC have access to the game plan. Sort of reminds me of Lee's Special Order 191.
hey Scottie B! I need to go have some more "hate sleep". I've got a double shift starting in 7 hours. I'll catch up with y'all in the morning.
most people have been 'celebratin' i guess. i've had my fun. ready to hit the bed. thought i'd check in before, though. nite to all. enjoy your sunday work THT. continue the hate.
Sunday morning here and all's well.
Aero, it's now in your highly capable hands. Have a great afternoon.
THT, Aero....
And anyone else that may be active on this fine holiday Saturday night - I hope y'all had a great one.
War Friggin' Eagle!!!!!!
NFL QBs tend to be Prima donna's by nature. McNair always seemed to be well grounded and blue collar. He had my respect and we lost one of the good ones today.
T-minus 62 days til kickoff!
RISE AND SHINE, HOTTIES!
Could it be? Is this the day? Are we really going to honor a long snapper?
Names like Brian Brinsfield and Pete Compton come to mind. But alas, just as on the gridiron, they are destined to pass unheralded through HABOTNville.
(Who knows, perhaps in 20 years we'll be celebrating and remembering the great feats of one from the current plethora of scholarship-awarded long snappers).
But today? Today is reserved for #62, MORRIS SAVAGE!
The great attorney from Walker County was a stalwart on the 1957 National Championship team at Auburn. He was also a member of the 1958 SEC Champions Auburn Baseball team. In 1959, he led the team in home runs with at least twice as many (2) as anyone else on the team. His outstanding achievements were certainly not limited to the athletic fields. He was elected a member of Spades and ODK, and was also recipient of the prestigious Algernon Sydney Sullivan Award. Thankfully, he had the good sense to go out of stateto attend law school, lest he be tainted by the corrrupt law of the cousin humpers. Mr. Savage attended Mr. Jefferson's school. receiving his law degree from the University of Virginia and serving as President of the Student Body while in Charlottesville. Mr. Savage is a former AU Trustee and a former board member of the AU Foundation. He also provided legal counsel for Auburn during an "inconvenience" with the NCAA. Oh, did I mention he is also a former President of the Auburn Alumni Association?
HAPPY MORRIS SAVAGE DAY!
WARRRRRRRR EAGLE!!!
GO TIGERS!!!
Happy Morris Savage Day Hot Ones!!! I spent the evening watching fireworks on the beach here at Gulf Shores. I have sand in places that Big Cats should never get sand!!
The only thing worse than the LSU fans this far south are the bama fans. The beach was crawling with them... little ones, big ones you name it! My hate doesnt take a break even on vacation!
Mornin' AUBigCat -
Thanks for keeping the hate strong! Good luck "de-sanding" yourself.
I just found out that a wedding for Wifey's cousin's kid that I got roped into.....is being held in Auburn on the weekend of July 18th. Forget the wedding.....I'm stalking Stars and Stripes participants. Maybe we can have a fireworks show/tree rolling at Toomers.
JayGT - you and family home safely?
THT,
I missed your question from above.....The pickling is complete.
How Dennis Dodd of CBS Sports Picks the SEC
This comment has been removed by the author.
FSJ- I tried to "jaundicize" your avatar and give it a rosy red nose. The jaundification process didn't work well due to the fact the right side of your face is in the light and the left side is in the shade. I'm not a photoshop pro.
I know it is tennis...but this Wimbledon final is exceptional tennis!
Check out Bama's new star frosh RB Trent Richardson.
Dude is swole! He looks like a beast.
Trent Richardson is the one on the right
Dennis Dodd is basically a moron. He has the bizarre impression that Malzahn's offense will resemble Franklin's. I can't believe anyone that dumb is allowed to be a sports writer.
I ran across a recent article on Malzahn. There isn't a lot new, but it is something to read.
In bigger sporting news, I won my first real poker game and $50!
Congrats Omnica!!!
Sorry Macho, not impressed. Try harder?
'appy Savage day.
THT continues to impress me with his Auburn knowledge.
Here is an interesting article focusing on the Auburn runningbacks. There are some flaws in the article and some obvious things that I am not sure why anyone would write, but there is also hints of the attitude the coaches are trying to instill in the players, namely, be an Auburn Man and represent the university well.
thanks Steve :-)
Aero- most of it isn't knowledge, it's googling. So don't be impressed.
When is daddy coming home?
Hoopie,
Highlands is primo. That's a for sure destination for Mrs. Jet and me sans kidlets.
Have fun at Stars and Stripes.
Stars and Stripes weekend will be interesting because it seems everyone is aware of when it will be. Could fans end up and do some celebrating at Toomer's? It could happen.
if it was next weekend I GARE UN TEE you I'd be there. July 18-can't make it.
was that a pic of TR with the imposter that took his ACT for him?
maybe there was a couple of $100s in that handshake for a job well done? i have not seen any bammer sites shoot down the rumor he has left the team never to return. the rumor bammers started that fannin had left the team last week was refuted rather quickly. i would think it would be easy to refute TR's apparent defection if it was not true. i'm hoping AU still gets to beat on him for 3-4 years.
Who cares about Richardson? This is the hottest Auburn blog on the net. If I wanted to hear about Bambis I would go somewhere else.
Am I the only one who was even watching, much less wishing Andy Roddick would win earlier?
Nice article, Steve.
The cautious part of being cautiously optimistic isn't working too well for me. I'm full blown optimistic.
Aeronaut, I really can't blame you. I like the attitude this coaching staff has brought to the plains.
The talent level at Auburn is not nearly as low as some would have you believe. Depth is certainly an issue.
Last year's team was favored to win the west. It wasn't because of a lack of talent. Last year's debacle was more about conflicting philosophies.
The 2007 team was actually very good by the end of the season, although UGA made us look bad. We were still very solid, with the only big disappointment being the loss to MSU.
Auburn will compete this season. I don't think we have the depth or the QB to win the west, but this team will be capable of competing with anyone on the schedule.
well scratch my back with a hacksaw. I'm finally caught up for the 1st time today. I hope I can stay caught up the rest of the evening. Time for lunch.
Should be easy at the current posting rate.
oh, I have no trouble keeping up with HABOTN (priorties are in order), it's work that keeps burying me. And yes, I'm behind again.
rk,
I was watching... couldn't stop watching (to my wife's displeasure). And I don't even like watching tennis.
I'm the only one in this family who doesn't watch tennis. Any CFL games on TV?
if we're not careful, we may actually turn a page before noon tomorrow. yawn.
I agree with Dennis the Menace's grandfather
D.Miller,
My wife was watching it with me and actually was getting into it.
It was a great match this morning, but I do wish Roddick had won.
I've got nothing to add, but I can't let TarHeel keep posting to himself. A true Auburn football historian just deserves better than that.
depressed, "I love you man".
I was about to jump to the conclusion that I was the only Hottie without a life outside of HABOTNville.
I was planning on watching "True Blood" tonight, but HBO decided it was time for a repeat after 3-4 episodes into the season. Sadly, that was to be one of the highlights of my week.
LOL Chip..
That is some good stuff.
THT:
I'd rather watch paint dry than watch tennis. The only thing slightly amusing to me are the couple of tennis stars that scream like idiots when they hit the ball.
I'm going to turn this sucker by myself...
If I knew the Auburn Creed I would recite it now.
Hmmm...or I could recite the Auburn fight song.
I can recite the alma mater, but not the creed. But the AU creed gives me goose bumps.
Or I could call that hotline at Auburn where you can get useless information.
