Chizik adds an eighth commitment
This may be older news to some of you, but Auburn has landed another commitment to its 2010 recruiting class. This happened last night.
Georgia CB Jonathan Mincy, according to our friends at AuburnSports.com, AuburnUndercover.com and ITAT, has promised to sign with the Tigers in February.
Scout.com and Rivals.com both rate him as a 3-star prospect. They both consider him one of the top 10 cornerbacks available in the Southeast.
Mincy has scholarship offers from ... a whole wad of major programs.
Here's a look at the players Auburn has committed so far:
OL Shon Coleman, Olive Branch, Miss.
LB Jake Holland, Pelham
ATH Shaun Kitchens, Atlanta, Ga.
K Cody Parkey, Jupiter, Fla.
WR Jeremy Richardson, Springville
LB Jawara White, Troy
LB Jessel Curry, Buford, Ga.
CB Jonathan Mincy, Decatur, Ga.

Substantalicious!
Hello!
durn, you just beat me, Jet! LOL
Nicely done!
Pure luck. Just peaked in the door.
Cincy,
If I were you, I would get the EXL w/out Nav and go buy your own 3rd party Nav system and have it installed. You'll come out better price-wise and end up with a better system.
Once you get a good low offer, play the dealers off each other. They all say they'll beat your best offer... See how much they mean it.
You can also get better initial price quotes dealing with their internet sales person.
WAR MINCY EAGLE!!!
THT, DC drip is alive and well I see.
Crap, thought I might finally get a one, oh well, top 10 ain't bad
Eh, don't worry bout it Luke, I've gotten my share of ones, it's cool for about 2 seconds.
Sean - Continuous DC infusion does a body good!
LUV/D.Miller - I forgot/didn't know that Charles Boackle was AU grad. I was fraternity brother of Tim Real. I knew Charles Boackle when I lived in B'ham in '83. Both are highly recommended from my perspective.
Luke - besides, any "ones" anyone gets are solely a result of Dear Leader's willingness to share.
i had never heard of of fax flooding when negotiating car prices JG. interesting.
Luke-I've only gotten a coupla ones myself and like Sean said it's cool for about 2 seconds unless of course you happens to have some real substance and what can be more substantial that Substantalicious! Nice Jet!
Nice pick up. Didn't think we'd get anymore news til after the 4th..love it love it...saw on some other boards that some OL may commit as early as next week as well..anybody know anything more than that?
I have a question for Michael:
Gldkjl alsdhg hldnd skdhlkfs a alsdjfa asdjl;sjf ekmdk ?
there was a Rivals article yesterday about a JUCO lineman that has us #1 but hasn't visited yet. seems like it's just a matter of time. i think he's in California.
I think it is becoming very obvious we have too many commitments with a first name that starts with "J". This is very confusing. Is it in honor of Jay Jacobs or Jay G. Tate?
I've seen "Substantialicious" used twice.
One time, I believe, was by Queen Omnica.
The other, I am certain, was on the back of my Snickers bar, which was, indeed, substantialicious.
not me
After much ballyhoo, the most hated man in the "Bamah Nayshun" ... is a talk show host in Atlanta?
I am frankly shocked the Paul Finebaum has written a controversial article. Who would have ever seen that coming?
Tar Heel, even though I don't work there anymore, Dr. Real is still my doctor. I really like him. Isn't it ironic that you and he are fraternity brothers? Small world.
Scottie B - did it say or do you recall where said OLineman played his H.S. ball?
Steve,
I didn't find it controversial at all. I found it baffling. It seems PF is trying to make chicken salad, but lacks the proper ingredients, as it were.
Why would he give voice to another talk show host? Does PF feel the same way? Is he using a surrogate to make his case regarding Saban.
Nope. No good chicken salad will come of this.

THT,
Fullerton (Calif.) Community College defensive end Joel Bonomolo, 6-foot-3, 245-pounder.
i was wrong. he's on the defensive line, not OL. my bad peeps.
Bonomolo is originally from New Orleans, La. He graduated from Rummel High School in 2007 and enrolled at Fullerton in the spring of 2008.
MrTommyD,
Chadd Scott in the ATL.
Steve has graciously linked the column above.
We used the fax flood for the Sequoia. It just so happened that Reinhardt here in Montgomery made the best offer.
We faxed to Bammerham, Atlanta and everywhere in between.
Luv - I would hope that one day I'll grow up and be like Tim Real.
Jet - I sure am cravin' chicken salad now. Actually, it's way past my lunch time so I'm cravin' just about any food, onions and fungus excluded.
He got bonolomoed; I'd hate for that to happen to me if I was a QB or RB
Well, Chadd Scott halfway told the truth. Yes, it is strange how Bama fans don't get irritated with Saban criticizing them. Yes, looked foolish getting rid of Tuberville. It is just the guy took stupidity to a new level by generalizing and attempting to insult an entire state.
Why do I continue to read the comments at the end of articles? I guess that's like watching the train wreck.
I think if publicity is what Chad is looking for, he has it from a small niche group in Atlanta. But my first thoughts after reading it, was I guess there will now be some more calls to their station... whatever.
His numbers must be down, this is is nothing but an attention grabber.
I don't think Chad even has his own show on Atlanta sports talk radio. He's a behind the glass guy.
Thanks Jet, I'm still learning how to actually read links that are posted
I am liking the recruits Chiz & Co. are making an impression with.
I wonder how many will stay true come February?
Hi Snow and WAR EAGLE!!!
There were no bacon bits, ham, or turkey on the salad bar. I am debating whether to press criminal charges or pursue this as a class action.
I blame the bammers and am hating them even more.
GO TIGERS!!!
call it a class action THT. i'm in.
hate bama.
Wild rumors are flowing that Tyrik Rollison has been cleared and is on campus today. I hope that is true and someone can confirm this later.
The fascination with Tyrik Rollison won't make sense to me until he plays like Joe Montana on Saturdays.
Snow -- glad to see you're still alive.
THT,
I like pepperoni on my salads. It is a shame more places don't put it on their salald bar.
Eddie,
I have seen confirmation that Tyrik is on campus, but have heard nothing definitive on his NCAA clearance. (I think he was going through CWE this week).
Maybe he is Joe Montana. I don't know.
I doubt he will ever reach Joe Montana status, JGT.
I don't see much of a reason to get all excited about Tyrik. He is another QB with potential. We have around 3 4 star QBs that can't get it done. Tyrik is just another wait and see in my book. There is reason to think Moseley has just as good of chance at being the man.
Every signee is a wait-and-see guy.
It's just like baseball prospects. Don't buy the hype until the kid, any kid, produces.
Lest I remind you of Leon Hart and Cencade Pennington.
Yeah. Tyrik Rollison is Kodi Burns, as far as I'm concerned, until he shows some decent footwork, the ability to get the football to a receiver, and a general knowledge of the QB position.
And Chad Scott is an Auburn grad.
Exactly Jay. And many last season thought Kodi Burns was our savior, while he turned out to be the sign of the end times. Fans always believe that the backup QB is better.
You are right Jay, but from I've seen from Auburn QB's lately, the uknown cannot be any worse, and just having the guy competing makes it interesting and news worthy to most Auburn Fans that I know.
Eddie,
I am with you. It's hard for me to believe that Tyrik is much worse than what we saw last year. I hope that the light switch comes on for Kodi, or somehow Neil turns into the Man of Steel, or Chris' arm turns into a cannon. But who knows?
Schematically, we should be better, because we will have a cohorent philosophy with buy-in from all parties.
I can see where Tyrik gets a chance to get some PT, rather than a one-way ticket to Redshirtville. Hopefully, it doesn't come to that. But I suspect it will.
I think he's as interesting and newsworthy as the other signees.
My prediction: Six guys from this class play. Rollison will not be one of them.
I had actually hoped that Trotter would be there. He was the biggest unknown. In terms of Caudle, I think Borges and Franklin saw problems with him.
Todd with a decent arm seems to be our best choice this season, but only if his arm isn't going to wear out after a few games. He made good decisions and seems to be a smart QB.
Burns also should still have a place in this offense. He is great as a change up, much the way Franklin used him against Clemson.
Todd will likely end up being the starter with Kodi coming off the bench unless Caudle shocks me.
I think OL that will commit shortly is the teammate of Richardson. HUghes is the last name I believe.
(But I don't follow recruiting)
If you see Moseley or Rollison play this season, it will likely mean they picture them becoming the starter later in the season. It would be a good indication of Malzahn's opinion of Burns and Caudle.
I agree with Jay. Tyrik may pan out to be a great AU QB, but it won't happen this year.
Funny thing is Texas, Texas Tech, and OU all had three super QBs and they were all rated 3 stars coming out of high school. Kodi and Neil were both fours (I think). It seems like we could get something out of them...I predict Malzahn will figure out how to make one of them play within themselves and have a solid season.
I'm still waiting on Allen Tillman to take his 1st snap at QB...same with Kelcy Luke.
Personally, I am going to be worried no matter who ends up being the starter. I think it will be Todd, but that is assuming a lot about his arm and I don't want a QB that won't be around for the entire season.
Some have tried to make the case that Malzahn didn't name a starter in the spring because he wanted to keep the competition going. I don't believe this. They spent a lot of the spring giving Trotter a shot, which I think is another indicator that he isn't happy with Burns or Caudle.
there's just so much that goes into being a good QB these days, you just never know until they get 2-3 years into it. it took D.Craig & J. Campbell years until they reached their potential. who knows.
Craig was brought along the right way. He was used as a situational QB for two years behind Nix to groom him for the starting job.
We never really had a solid back up plan under Tub, the back up never got a ton of reps if the starter was healthy.
When Leard, Campbell and Cox all graduated we started 2001, 2005 & 2008 with people who had almost never seen the field the year before.
Also, I don't buy into the it takes 2 years for a QB to be ready.
Tim Tebow, Sam Bradford, Colt McCoy, Matt Leinart and many others have started off right away without any problems.
The key is getting the right QB in the right situation. The problem is we haven't developed QB's.
I will agree to disagree on Rollison. I bet he will play. The QB situation here looks much like the Arkansas QB situation when Malzahn came in up there. I could be dead wrong, but I bet Tyrik will take some snaps at some point this year.
RK, you hit on it. Campbell was pretty much thrown to the wolves. Playing him early caused a lot of issues with his confidence. I would really like to see us bring a backup QB along. It wouldn't bother me at all to see one of the incoming recruits as the backup and get in for a series here or there. I just don't like to see QBs go from bench warmer to starter with little previous experience.
And Eddie, I see no reason to choose Tyrik over Moseley. Either is an option.
Steve, what is with the CT fascination?
What are you talking about Sean?
I like Moseley as a long term kind of guy. He needs to put some weight on and get some reps against higher competition but this kid has a great shot 3 years down the road.
In recent years we never played the back up (Cobb in 2000, Cox in 2004, Sullivan in 2005, Field in 2006, Burns in 2007) or had a goofy platoon that hurt both QB's (Campbell/Cobb in 01 & 02 and Burns/Todd last year).
I'm talking about everytime the QB situation comes up you are convinced Chris Todd will be the guy, what up with that?
i agree with you RK on getting QB's in the right situation. however, the QB's you mentioned are playing for the top 4 programs in the country. they've got a lot of help around them.
i guess i'm just saying not to count out Kodi or Caudle or even Todd. last year was just so horrible with the CTF experiment. that wasn't a good situation for anybody. i'm sure Tebow could've handled his own but i think it's fair to say he would be an exception, not the rule.
As freshman, Tebow was backup to Leak, and played in certain situations.
Bradford redshirted his freshman year. He started his 2nd yr in college as a redshirt freshman.
Leinhart was in college two years before he started.
I don't know about Colt McCoy.
We sort of played Burns his freshman year. That is about as close to bringing along a QB that we have done, but it was basically a train wreck because of throwing him under the bus at MSU. MSU revealed how teams adjust to Burn's running. When Burns played most of the game, I thought we were going to lose. MSU shut him down in the second half.
If we want to be an elite program, then we need to have situations in place for someone to come in and be effective quickly.
There are other examples of QB's coming in and being effective right away that aren't at Florida, Texas or USC.
However we almost never have had that situation in our program's history.
Sean, I am convinced Todd will be the guy. I am not sure what has to be up with that. He has shown to be the best QB we have at the moment. I haven't been thinking he would be the guy until I saw an article on him saying his arm is better than it was anytime last season.
You saw the disaster that was Kodi Burns and how our season fell apart when he was the starter. What other option are you seeing?
As freshman, Tebow was backup to "Leak, and played in certain situations.
Bradford redshirted his freshman year. He started his 2nd yr in college as a redshirt freshman.
Leinhart was in college two years before he started.
I don't know about Colt McCoy."
They were all ready to play when they took the field.
I thought the way Meyer played Tebow with Leak as the starter was perfect. Fans were whining for Tebow to be the starter, but Meyer knew he wasn't ready. I even listened to Meyer say that if Tebow wasn't content being the backup, he wouldn't play at all. Meyer brought Tebow along the right way.
Our QB's are always learning on the job, other schools QB's seem to be ready when they hit the field (whether that is after a redshirt year or not, they were prepared when it was their time).
Well Steve, you might be right. But I'm giving Kodi the benefit of the doubt here. He was told he was no good, got buried, got played, changed the offense, yada yada. I'd like to see a QB excel in that situation. I haven't written Neil off, he made some good plays in the A-Day game, which I know, I am taking with a grain of salt. Todd hasn't thrown a legit pass since what, October of last year. I'll believe he's the starter when he's under center for La Tech.
Georgia did the same thing with another QB, I think it was Shockley. He was the backup for David...I can't remember the last name.
David Greene.
I think our QB's learning on the job was a function of Tuberville not really knowing what he wanted out of an offense or how to develop offensive talent and his position coaches weren't much better. Al Borges had Cox ready to go and then we fired him. The rest of the offensive staff didn't have much of a rep for developing a great passing game.
Pat Sullivan = last AU true freshman QB ready to play. Unfortunately, Fr weren't eligible.
"Borges had Cox ready to go"
Look back at the 1st couple of games in 2005, he wasn't as ready to go as we remember. He ended up putting up good numbers in 2005, but he did struggle early on.
However, Tub's staff struggled with QB and WR development.
Not having a real QB coach over the last few years have hurt the most. The last real QB coach Auburn had was Petrino and he made huge strides with Jason Campbell. I think Gus Malzahn is a good QB coach. I believe they truly left the spring completely undecided. Do I expect on the current rosters guys to start, yes, but I wouldn't rule out a True Freshman playing also.
In terms of Caudle, I am going by what Borges and Franklin did with him. Also, with Burns, Franklin's comments make me think CTT is the only reason he was playing him.
Burns has a significant amount of experience and still shows the same decision making problems. There were a couple of games last season where I thought he was beginning to get it (late against Arkansas and Ole Miss), but he has remained inconsistent.
The other indicatos I see is how long Malzahn was willing to give Trotter a shot. I believe Malzahn sees the issues with Burns and Caudle, just like Borgess and Franklin did.
Don't get me wrong. I think Todd could be a big mistake if his arm falls apart again. I just saw a lot of good decision making from him last season. I saw a QB that knew what to do, but at times didn't have the arm to do it.
Also, I think they did the right thing switching from Todd to Burns. I don't think they had a choice. Todd's arm was done. That was very evident.
Slack was ready to play as a junior in 88.
White was ready to play in 90 (then stunk it up in 91 & 92)
Nix was ready to play in 94.
Craig was ready to play in 96.
Then it dropped off after that.
Eddie, I seriously doubt a true freshman will start in the first game. I would rather see them just go with Burns if that is the case. I can see them attempting to groom one of the incoming QBs to take over later in the season.
Beasley!
Steve- I never said he would start game 1, I just believe he will play.
I told a group at lunch the other day, I see Tyrik playing "some, not starting" at some point during the season ... certainly not game one.
People seem to be taking each other words to the most pissible -- excuse the typo: I mean, possible (or maybe I don't) -- extremes.
Part of my opinion is rooted in my belief is that redshirt will become more and more a thing of the past.
Anybody know the whereabouts of Reese "Too Tall" McCall? I don't know why he just popped in my head. I think he caught like maybe 4 passes his entire AU career, but still was drafted in the 1st round by the Colts and played 8 years in NFL.
RK, I agree with you on Cox Borges also said he was asking Brandon to do too much. After the offense went back to more of a run first approach, we did very well in 2005. I was speaking more of he wasn't a complete train wreck and ruin a season. So ready being relative to 2001, 2008.
Quarterback shmorterback
Who's blocking up front that's actually going to perform this year?
Who are the QBs throwing to? Trott? Billings?
This offense has more questions than a reporter at a Bill Clinton sex scandal presser.
Snow, I'd say there are 11 questions on offense.
Jet- Ryan Pugh at Center has to be answered already :)
THT - to answer your earlier question, sidogjsl dgh999tu358ut jgj38035 8
to THT and Michael: #@$$@#FWDJKGJQ@#$TRKWHJREF(#@$*%!@)*$%!@$ROHFWEKRFJGW#Q$U(R!@#$%.
So There.
P.S. sjkldfhaoshfiq3fjhasdlfj!!!!
People people people...we have to remember this Tyril Rollison kid is a parade all-American. He was number 2 dual threat QB in all of the land...Kodi was 9th...he was also ranked as having 5th strongest arm in the nation, ranked number 1, again number 1... For most accurate arm and number 5 for best scrambler (per rivals)
The reason he wasn't as highly touted is becuase of his academic uncertainty so the big wigs didn't really pursue him hard.
Jhag, don't talk sense. I've said those exact words at least twice.
My son was at a camp in B'ham last week and we were discussing Caudle with the coaches there. They swear that the guy was a stud player and was unbelievable before he had knee issues. They still believe he can be the "man" if given the opportunity.
The next day Caudle came by and I got a chance to talk to him about the changes. He loves it. He honestly feels that he is going to get the call this fall.
Thanks, Michael. I was thinking the same thing but just wanted to confirm.
Sean, you da man...yeah stating the facts is silly right? Hahaha
I may be the only one that cares, but Auburnsports.com reporting the Rollison is cleared and good to go.
Sean, you da man...yeah stating the facts is silly right? Hahaha
That is excellent news, Eddie. I care very much. More than I hope he has success on the field, I want him to be a success in the classroom. Ok, maybe I hope each equally.
That reminds me. Yesterday in prison I had no HABOTN and so I was forced to go to al.com.
Some bammer claimed that Julio will win a Heisman before he graduates.
My thought (which I couldn't post):
Big deal. There are over 2 billion people in China and India who are just as likely to win a Heisman before Julio graduates.
Define "graduates".
This may be your point, THT, but I think the odds of him winning the Heisman and the odds of him actually graduating are about the same - very slim!
Good news on Rollison. Hopefully he'll be one that pans out.
Eddie ...
Tyrik vs. La. Tech!!!!
GIT YA FREAK ON!!!!
OK, I'm kidding.
Jet- Don't tease me. You know where I stand on Montana, I mean Rollison, being our QB.
Super Freak!
Super Freak!
He's Super Freaky!
C'mon, Norm, get on the drums for ol' times sake!
Ty-REEK, the FREAK Rollison! i like it.
he'll probably win multiple Heisman trophies........when i'm playing NCAA10. :)
may the best man win the starting QB job. i don't flippin' care who it is. just win baby!
JGT,
That Cencade Pennington shot was below the belt.
Tyrik may get a look in 2-a-days, but will get redshirted this year. He will need to learn the offense before he can think about PT. If he plays meaningful snaps as a true frosh, we're having a loooong season.
That said, I hope he eventually turns into a great one.
any of you familiar with the "Joe Cribs Car Wash" blog?
It ain't quantum physics, it's FOOTBAW!!!
YO! YO! YO! FOOTBAW!
Sorry, Coach O possessed me for a moment.
I hope we can redshirt him. It means somebody turned out OK.
The great 97-99 backfield of Cencade Pennington, Demontray Carter, Rusty Williams, Markeith Cooper, Tellie Embry, Michael Burks, Roman Nelson, Clifton Robinson & I'm sure others that I have forgotten was a hit below the belt.
97-99 backfield
compliment of Terry Bowden
The only ones I left out were the two that stood out in that group, in 97 we had Fred Beasley & in 98 & 99 we had Heath Evans.
However both were fullbacks that they asked to be tailbacks.
RK ...
Shut the front door!
Now, I'll likely spend the rest of the afternoon under my desk in the fetal position.
We would have been begging to have a Ben Tate type RB in those days.
'08 backfield not much better from a production point of view
If I'm remembering correctly, Dameyune Craig almost beat UT single-handedly in the '97 SECCG. Just a tiny bit of assistance from that fabulous backfield probably would have won it for AU.
in both instances it may have been more a reflection of the coaching than the talent in the backfield.
If you would have put Tate, Fannin & Lester on the 98 team we would have been much better than 3-8...on the 99 team we probably would have won 8 or 9 games. We would have won 7 anyway if Duval could have kicked a FG against the two Miss schools.
Actually I think from a yardage production nothing can be worse than the 97-99 Auburn running game. I think two years we averaged in the 70's per game and one we dropped to 68 yards rushing per game.
We rushed for negative yardage in the 1997 SEC title game.
THT,
The talent in the late 90's backfield was far far worse than the 2008 backfield. I'd say our RB's from 97-99 averaged 5'8" 180.
Although a great passing attack can be very sexy, I would still prefer to just run over people...again, and again.
The 04-05 offense (05 once Irons was moved to the starting RB role) was the best I've ever seen at Auburn.
If we can get that kind of productivity back and keep our D consistent, then I'll be a happy camper.
I think balance is sexy.
I think Jessica Alba is sexy.
Her, too, RK. Her, too.
In 04 and 05 we had great balance, pretty much 200 yards rushing and 200 yards passing per game and over 30 points per game.
I don't recall any other Auburn offenses being that consistent in both aspects of the game except for maybe 93-94.
Symmetry is always sexy!
i prefer Megan Fox, but i'm not picky.
speaking of 5'8" RB's, don't diss my boy Markeith 'The Lizard' Cooper. the best gold teeth i saw in my 4 years at AU. ha.
I think Megan Fox is sexy. Can't wait to see her on the big screen tomorrow night.
oops, i am picky...but that's not what i meant...oh, nevermind.
Some people have this fire in their belly, that burns too strong. Some athletes are on a different level, and it's a state of mind, more so than just physical talent.
That winning attitude is what Auburn needs, the swagger of a winner, of a champion. Tyrik has that.
You guys must know Rollison better than me. I've only talked to him once, seen him twice.
I need to get out more, I guess.
JGT, I get what you're saying. Wait and see, I'm in that camp. He has potential, but then again, most of the kids we sign do.
Jay G ...
All that time you spent watching Jon and Kate, we were stalking Tyrik.
jon & kate....what a shame.
Hours of my lifetime spent watching Jon & Kate Plus 8: Less than one hour.
Hours of my lifetime posting Facebook status messages aimed at annoying my wife, who watches the show religiously: Many.
Stalking doesn't begin until 5 hours are invested. New HABOTN rule.
Like I said, please don't start worshipping Tyrik yet. Continue to worship Kodi Burns for a while.
Rr in your case, Chris Todd, eh Steve?
Sean, I don't really care for any of our QBs. Todd is just the most proven we have at the moment and I can't really say I will be happy with him as the starter.
By my own definition, I am a Jenna Fischer stalker. My wife is an enabler, though. She's the one who drove me by Jenna's house.
JGT,
Are these actual hours or billable hours?
There is a big difference.
Jay, G ... we should start a support group for spouses of Jon and Kate devotees.
Steve, Kodi is sooooo 2008! Git ya Freak on! He's the man who can have us back in the SECCG and save us from a 25 year wandering in the wilderness.
Anyone planning on seeing the Transformers flick tomorrow?
I'd like to get a read on it before committing to the cinemaplex experience.
It looks terrible in the previews, but I could be wrong.
i've only had to suffer through a couple episodes of the jon/kate saga.
my wife reads People.com religiously and stalks everyone and everything associated with those 'Twilight' books. it irks my soul. but at least it allows to me watch the Braves from time to time.
Jet, if you start a support group for J&K+8 spousal abuse ... We also need one for people who's spouses abuse the Bachelor(ette) show(s).
How about we just set up a support group for Spouses of Reality Tv Abusers (SoRTA)?
DMiller ...
That ... is ... brilliant!
SORTA, Founded by DMiller, June 23, 2009.
Shoot, I oughta send you $20 for a membership card.
Nobody (i hope nobody) is worshipping any QB. At least I am not.
Yep I have been stalking Tyrik like many other Auburn fans. I have no idea how good he will be (as far as talent and physical attributes and game playing are concerned) but his attitude is that of a fighter. That's all I am saying.
I guess I offended JGT with my insightful coverage of tyrik's personality :-P. My apologies.
A question:
If Eltoro and Tyrik collided head on in the first day of practice in full pads, what would happen?
It would create a scientific singularity that can either cause the black hole, or the god particle.
--
Man.. I'm so scared of all the reality tv crap, the first two questions i'll ask a girl on a date would be :1. are you bammer? and 2. Do you watch reality tv?
I didn't even know who John & Kate were until a week or so ago...I still don't care, but I do know who they are now.
Jet,
If you need the address of where to send the check let me know. SoRTA is taking applications for membership.
I am also the founder of an anti-PETA group - People for the Ethical Reverance of Vegetables (PERV). I'm trying to get support for a website (perv.org) and to have t-shirts printed.
Oh, so you'll take a check?
Man, I thought you wanted money.
Jay G Tate...you my hero
MrsTHT and I watch ZERO jon & kate, reality, idol, etc. What a bunch of garbage.
Last night we watched 3 hours of Star Trek Next Gen. reruns. Good stuff ;-)
And you're mine, jhag.
I'd prefer a cashier's check or money order. Sending cash in the mail is risky. Those gov't employee postal workers will steal!
I'll be going to see the hangover tonight and hanging around to see the transformers at midnight. I go to most of these movies with no expectations except that it should be visually stunning, which is my favorite part. If it's got any story at all Transformers 2 should be good. I am looking forward BIGTIME to The Hobbit coming out and a couple remakes, Robocop being the main one, Conan being another.
From what i've seen of TR he seems to be more assertive than most qb's we've had in the past. That is watching him against HS players, and not SEC speed, which will take him some getting used to. I am pulling for him but don't expect to see him next year, oh and he has a flippin mohawk, i like that.
Oh, and i got to cook for steely dan the other night. Didn't get to meet em' but i was stoked they picked a place that i help run.
I love the mohawk. I am considering a mohawk... But I may go with the Fro, it's more natural for me.
Pretty much sums up what I feared about Transformers.
Be ye warned.
The last movie I personally chose to go see ... uh ... "Big Fish?"
I guess.
The 1st Transformers was so "visually stunning" that I never really knew who was fighting who because they didn't do enough to disginguish who was who in robot form as they were fighting.
So at the end of the movie I was visually stunned.
I guess I'll settle for another viewing of "Where Eagles Dare," "The Dirty Dozen," or some other rerun on one of the cable channels.
I love going to the movies. I'd go to a theater that showed classics like ghostbusters and stuff like that if there was one. Massawyrm is usually pretty spot on, i'm still going to see it. I think i'll go check out that Zombie Planet trailer again.....
sorry you couldn't keep up Rk, you'll always have the cartoon....
Jet, have you seen the trailer for the new Tarantino flick "Inglorious bastards" Looks prety good.
"Inglorious Bastards"
What's that about? HABOTN posters pushing a dead thread past 400?
If Tarantino made a movie about HABOTN, it would be called "Space Laser Giraffes".
It's Tarantino Hour!
"Puppet Fiction"
"Reservoir Dogs (With a Puppeteer's Hand Up its Rear)"
Though not technically a puppet:
"Kill Mr. Bill, Volumes 1 & 2"
Written and directed by "Sluggo" Tarantino
LaVoyd James(WR) and Reggie Taylor(S) appear to be headed to JC according to Sportscall. Not sure if this is a surprise or not.
Those 2 were expected to go that route, depressed.
Rivals and AU undercover are both reporting that TR has enrolled. The summer time on campus will help him get acclimated to life away from mama and to workout with the team and get a feel for what he is in for.
If I remember correctly, Kodi enrolled for summer session also.
PMarshall writes that he has seen 5 coaching changes at AU and this is the most excited he has seen players about a change. He says that they all seem to have bought into CGC and staff.
Reggie Taylor was not a surprise. Schools from GA were not very keen on him as he was considered an academic risk. But the guy has a lot of potential, and it would be awesome if he does join Auburn after his Juco.
Some useless info on LaVoyd James: He broke his ankle the second game of his senior season (he was the holder for the extra point kick, and someone fell on his ankle) He has made a great recovery and is FAST..like .. track n field fast. His non-qualification is a surprise.
I never had a mohawk. I get a shemphawk occasionally when the mood hits me right.
Tyrik Rollison and Clint Mosley are roommates.
This could be interesting.
well upon my brief overview of some recent comments I got a coupla things to add..
Kodi! Kodi! Kodi!
Tarentino is the man! I have most of his movies and at one point owned them all that is until I lent out Reservoir Dogs and that punk didn't return it before I moved up here..Michael-"Space Laser Giraffes" I don't get it dude..tho that's not really a surprise seeing as how it's not that uncommon for me to read your comments and go uhhhh...
Cameron just said Michael Dyers' final 4 schools under consideration are Notre Dame, Auburn, LSU and Oklahoma. No Arkansas on his list?
With the 20 hour rule in play, programs are now more insistent on getting kids on campus as quickly as possible ... for the longer summer term, or the mini-term.
It's good for acclimation purposes.
I think Oklahoma will be the biggest competition for Dyer.
D. Miller, that would be an interesting situation. There have been few AU-Oklahoma recruiting battles over the years.
Tyrik's not the heat, he's the humidity.
Benton is the heat, Tyrik is the humidity.
Together they are too much for opposing teams to handle.
Eltoro's the Thunder, Da Freak is the Lightning!
Eltoro is the Tornado, UAT is the Trailer Park
These coaches are 2 for 2 when claiming that a player will make it into school...Benton and Rollison. I hope Rollison can redshirt and hit the books hard.
Hey Big Cat! I want another weekend!!!
War Eagle!!!
Yeah I was thinking the same about Tyrik and Moseley beng roomates, interesting tactic
I am not sure what to think of the happiest team thing that Phillip Marshall mentioned. Of all the times I have seen new coaches come to Auburn, Pat Dye's first group were definitely the most miserable. He worked their butts off and many quit the team.
So, who's watching the cornpups v. shorthorns?
Mostly working tonight, but did turn around just in time to see Erin lathering up ol' Hat-Les.
Les will never have a future doing color commentary.
Nothing but work tonight :-(
But even at work, I can smell that smell.
Norm?
Can only lurk in this heat.......
