Chizik speaks, nebulously
So there was a rumor going around that DB Aairon Savage recently suffered an injury while working out.
Coach Gene Chizik took the surprising step of acknowledging that bit of information this afternoon.
"Aairon Savage did suffer an injury while working out, and at this time,
the extent of the injury is still being evaluated by our medical staff."
Auburn has not acknowledged the type of injury involved. He missed the 2008 season with a torn knee ligament.

First in the worst way.
Good luck Aaron!!
And good luck to me in learning how to spell his name correctly!
It's a tricky one.
That sucks! Good luck Aaron! Hope to see you in the fall man!
Will Aaron Savage want to return for a 6th year, if it becomes available? That has to be very discouraging after rehabbing to recover from the knee injury. Would love to see him return, Savage is a hell of a player.
my bad on the spelling *Aairon
I really hate to see this for the kid. He has been waiting too long to play. Yes, this is bad for Auburn, but it is worse for Savage. My prayers are with him. I do think he would have been a starter, but fortunately for us, DB is where we have our most depth defensively.
I think Tez Doolittle may have spoiled you all a little.
Achilles injuries are particularly nasty and difficult to rehabilitate fully.
Jay-What does Tez have the Aairon doesn't? Is it the seriousness of the injury that allowed Tez to come back and be successful?
I just wonder after missing two full seasons if he wants to try coming back again. Sometimes, it's better just to move on.
If I am Savage I would try to make the best of it. He can get his degree and move into graduate school. If he can then heal, maybe he has a shot as a great season. I believe he was all SEC as a freshman.
One thing about Savage on the field- he was totally fearless. A hitting machine.
JayGT - thanks for that update. I sure wish Aairon the very best.
To continue an earlier thread:
I spoke with the wife, we are in for July on the HABOTN calendar with Mr. and Mrs. Harrsion.
Early prediction...I bet it will be July all year long at Mon's house.
JG, a picture of Ms. Clarkson for your viewing (opposite of) pleasure.
http://www.wwtdd.com/2009/06/my-life-would-suck-without-food/
Pardon me if I am wrong, but doesn't Aairon already have his degree and currently working on his master's?
That's a tough injury. Jay is definitely correct in saying that Tez spoiled us. That type of recovery is definitely not the norm.
Coach Chizik has the vague-speak down pat. Is it really giving your competition an advantage (at this point) to just tell the story?
Best to stay in the habit or he might slip when it is important.
All that money MrsTHT saved by not letting me run the AC... I think I've spent it on Penguins championship shirts and all sorts of other Pens stuff. We're still on cloud nine.
I don't blame Chizik for not wanting to say definitely that Savage is gone. I don't think they have a definitive answer yet, but it doesn't sound good.
Will, you are not my favorite.
Feel free to tell the others.
That is because I'm the favorite.
I just found out the cheerleader's brother on Heroes is from Marietta, GA. We were friends with his aunt/uncle.
Also learned that $4million of Cobb County GA taxpayers money went to pay legal defense for someone who murdered several people.
Hannah Montana's love interest is also from Cobb County, GA.
This conversation is so up my alley.
There ain't a thing wrong with that Ms. Clarkson. Nothing.
Kelly Clarkson?!?!?! Miley Cyrus!?!?! We throw the Jonas Brothers into the mix and I think HABOTN will become a red dot on the Montgomery County Sheriff's website.

Sorry, Taylor = HBK = AWK. I have an identity crisis.
I'm ready for some football. Please, please, please give me some football.
Savage's slight? injury
as reported by Evan Woodberry with kudos to Huntsville Times ace Paul Gattis
Chizik added just a touch of fogginess to his previous nebulousness.
THT - I'm looking at something else on my local library website and I saw that we can access this:
Digital Sanborn Maps, 1867-1970, provides access to more than 660,000 large-scale maps of more than 12,000 American towns and cities. In electronic form, Sanborn Maps take on much improved value over the microfilm versions of the same maps, allowing for greater flexibility of use and improved viewing possibilities. Users have the ability to easily manipulate the maps, magnify and zoom in on specific sections, and layer maps from different years.
I'm not saying I want Chizik to say Savage is gone. But how about some details. What was he doing when the injury occurred? What's the initial prognosis of the severity of the injury? Just give me the facts, is that so hard?
ehyou - you are my favorite
that cuts Mon! deep!
Sanborn maps were for fire insurance purposes originally, but genealogy researchers and building/architect historians find them extremely useful these days.
get over it, wartiger. I'm her true fav. She's just teasing ehyou
THT- we gonna need a cage match to settle this?!!
C'mon guys, Mon has a thing for Jay's...
yep, and I send MrsTHT into the cage as my proxy.
that would be me! Jay4AU
In true "Big Love" fashion, Monica is trying to keep everyone happy. How about only one favorite allowed per hottie?
THT, I bow to your seniority, sir!
I hereby declare Jay4AU a true gentleman and worthy of Monica's favoritism
depressed, unless you have Prophet status, you're in no position to limit favorites.
i've got $ad news. MrsTHT found our basement TV (the 15 yr old two ton one, not the younger pile of rubble) smoking like a chimney. She's already told me I have to buy one tomorrow.
who's up for another extended discussion of LCD vs Plasma; Sony vs Panasonic; etc etc
me neither.
Hehehe...I am the man!!
(until the next time I piss her off)
Monica, does that mean you can't decide on just one? I think you're changing the subject.
Sincerely, False Prophet
Greg and I are enjoying a cold bowl of c antelope. Yummy. WAY better than ice cream. :-)
I know that we all want info right now in this modern infi age but, there are general and medical privacy issues for the player that the coach must respect.
If AU is smart...it is policy.
No, that is not what that means, Depressed.
We have tornado warnings in our area. That RARELY happens.
THT...an electronics superstore called Brandsmart in "May-retta" just advertised a 42" Panasonic Viera (plasma) TV for $499. I prefer LCD, but that is a good deal.
We love fresh fruit at my house (I am not pandering, seriously).
Current fresh fruit in the fridge: oranges, watermelon, pineapple, peaches
Cantelope = loaded with good micronutrients.
Ice Cream = loaded with good taste
I've read all this back and forth between two threads. It's time to put the question to rest, once and for all. I, NORM, am Monica's true favorite. All the rest of you boys and men are just trying to convince yourselves of something that can never be.
It's the truth, it's actual. Let's move on now folks. Nothing left to see here.
Oh yeah, sorry I couldn't be there to push you over 200 on the prior thread. i had more important things to do. Which, in this case amounted to playing with my son in the pool. Good times.
cold cantaloupe is absolutely DEElicious. I ate an entire one yesterday (Mrs THT slices it up into bite size chunks and leaves in the fridge before she goes to work)
but better than ice cream... not here.
Fresh peaches from Chilton County, AL or Cameron, NC vs. ice cream ... now that's too close to call.
Hoopie, are you trying to turn me against cantaloupe? Don't go talkin' nutrients on me.
THT - the answers you'll get here on your TV topic are as varied as the individuals providing them. I, on the one hand am a solid SONY XBR man. Others will have other preferences and their reasons for them. If I'm not mistaken, by and large the internal components all come from the same one or two places regardless of the spelling on the front of the tv. Find a picture you like and go with it. You'll likely be glad you did. Especially in about 80 days.
Hoopie - you are exactly right. It is none of the reporters' or readers' business what kind of injury Aairon sustained until if and when he wants us to know.
The wording in that last sentence reminds me of the sons of our visiting friend. They were as quiet at the dinner table as the Darling boys.
I just crawled out of a cave and had not seen the Amazin's video someone linked on prior thread.
THANKS!!! I got all goosebumpy.
Just finished off a bowl of homemade peach cobbler and Eddy's Vanilla Bean Ice Cream. Ready to pack for a flight to Dallas on Wednesday.
Homemade canteloupe ice cream?
Unless you have calves and lats like me, you guys ar eonly wishing to mon's fav.
Kids ...
Brother Jet just had a spiritual experience with a fried peach pie from Sprayberry's and a some homemade vanilla from the pride of Brenham, Texas, Blue Bell Ice Cream.
And all the Lord's people said ...
WTC ...
Hope you, your calves and lats have a nice trip to Dallas.
Note to you and Norm, there is apparently the Twin Cities Marathon coming up in October. The area looks flat and cool for you runner types.
War Eagle!?
;-)
Children,
I am tired ... my own bed awaits ... and as the King of My Castle ... uh, tenement farmer of the right side of the bed, I am going to assert my property rights and go to bed.
pleasant dreams, Jet. We're all glad you're home safe and sound, and properly nourished with BBQ, fried peach pie, and ice cream.
I must be getting real old (duh) cause it's only 11 and I think I'm going to call it quits.
Sports Page November 1954
AU beats previously undefeated UGa 35-0
GATech stomps UAT 20-0
Lee Corso scores 3 TDs in FSU HC romp
UF beats UT for first time in 11 tries
I love spiritual experiences with fried peach pies. They are some of my favorites.
With all that said, I would rather have a tight-lipped Chizik (God bless him) than a blah-blah-blah Kiffen. Thank you Jay Jacobs? Time will tell, but I think so.
I agree with you, ehyou and I'm not pandering.
Good morning, Hotties!
Happy Jim Pyburn Day and WARRRR EAGLE!!!
T-minus 80 days til kickoff
All-American Jim Pyburn was one of Auburn's
all-time greatest receivers. According to the
AU Media Guide, Coach Jordan once said,
'We have a passing attack...just throw the
ball in Pyburn's direction."
Good morning! I am in Fairhope, by way of Montgomery, waiting for the movers to arrive to help my sister get unpacked and settled in. I had forgotten how hot it is here. But it is a lovely day for moving.
Her hubby is going to be pastor of Fairhope United Methodist which is great for them, but I do so hate that she is moving further away from me. Also, because he obviously has to be here on Sunday mornings, it is going to cut down drastically the Auburn games they are going to get to come to. :(
Good morning and Happy Hump Day, Hotties!
Cincy, it's quite sultry out there this morning! I wouldn't want to be moving this week! Actually, I wouldn't want to anytime during the summer in Alabama!
Church...Auburn football...hmmmm....
Just kidding!
Morning Hotties make it a nice day for yourselves.
Fairhope ... ahhh.
Monica is Mama Pander Bear. (How's the Ava Watch?)
Since I'm back home, I'm feeling the need for a Hamburger King.
Just sayin'.
Good morning all. Please make this week come to an end. That's all.
You know what I've noticed and I'm guilty of it too... We spend half our time wishing our lives away and the other half complaining how fast life goes. Why is that, I wonder??
Pyburn was fantastic. an All-American WR, it was said he wasn't the fastest guy, but he would catch anything thrown in his direction. he also played major league baseball with the Baltimore Orioles for a few years.
Good morning Hotties.
A BE-UTE-ee-fuhl day here in Huntington, West Virginia.
Baby X has yet to make her appearance, but Mommy is doing well and has proclaimed she will NOT be induced. We'll see how long that lasts.
South GA doesn't have many redeeming qualities, but count peaches among them. They are so juicy that you have to eat them over the sink. And the flavor...I can't find adequate words.
Is Aunt Monica excited?
This made me think of Tar Heel. Just replace "mathematician" with "maps."
Comic
I'm not hatin', Tar Heel. :-D
MMMM ehyou! That made me want a peach, BAYUD!
Yes, Aunt Monica is excited!!
ehyou, do you live near those peaches? How much would it cost me to have some shipped to me????
Luv...
That's good. That is so him.
I moved to Macon last fall, so this is the first season I've been this close. The old-timers are saying we have a most excellent crop this year due to excessive rain.
These are the folks to contact for peaches:
Lane Southern Orchards
Millions of peaches, peaches for me...millions of peaches. peaches for free.
As much as I'd LOVE to have some of those peaches, I can't justify $60 for 13 peaches.
Man, I forgot how expensive Lane is. Ridiculous.
Dickey Farms
Luv - That's SO Funny!!! Why? Because it's so very true! I can't wait to share that with MrsTHT/
Less than an hour ago I was talking to a friend at the UNC library about getting a poster made from one of their map scans, not for the wall but to make it easier for me to study.
Thanks!
Morning HOTTIES!!!!
Another Bid has come and gone!!!!
i'm 2 for 2!!!
48 for $24. That's more like it.
Taylor
Mobilz...
Congrats. The question is, are you gonna make $ for what you bid?
Take a seat in the back of the bus BOYS we all know who the real DOM is. Ask Monica.
The wife is doing very well but not sure when we can go home.
JGT I haven't had much time to post but have kept up with your work and want to thank you for all the great info. We Hotties do appreciate it. Got to go but will return
I had Chilton County peaches shipped to me a couple of times, but only when they had a dry spring season. It's certainly not worth it if they have a rainy spring.
THT...
I would probably agree. They're just too juicy and I doubt they would ship well.
rainy spring = all water, no sweet peachy taste
Monica - I just ate half a cantaloupe in your honor; now I must eat some peaches in ehyou's honor. Wish me luck, I'll have to peel them myself.
Remind me I never want to be a mover. These guys have a very hard job. Just helping 2 sisters and my niece move this summer is going to put me under. Have I said it was hot??!!!
DIGGER!!! So happy to see you post! And even happier to hear that Mrs. Digger is doing better.
OK, ehyou and THT - are you telling me you WOULD or WOULD not order peaches now? Dickey Farms has a much better price.
How do y'all like peaches so much? I can have a bite and then I'm done.
i'd rather have a beer
I don't order Chilton County peaches if spring was rainy. I think it was pretty wet in that neck of the woods this spring.
i wouldn't mind a beer right now.
what a crappy morning. blah.
I love it when the U.S. Open is at a really tough course. I take a small amount of pleasure in watching pro golfers struggle to make par.
What do you Hotties think about the N. Korea situation? Are they a real threat or just a lot of hot air?
ehyou, me too. When the scores are lik -20, I always say, "That course is too easy for pros."
Cincytiger - I hope your sister settles in well. Tell her I hope her teeth are not too sore.
Mon...
The peaches taste great, but they are very juicy so you may get some degradation in transit. I would probably take the chance though.
Scottie...
You're my kind of guy. Beer isn't illegal, so why is it inappropriate to drink @ work?
ehyou- from what I hear Bethpage shoul play easier than in 2002. I think winning score will be under par by my boy, Phil
Thanks, ehyou!
Sean & Harrison - that hurts!
NC peaches are real good this year; up until the past 2 weeks, we've had a much drier spring than further south. I don't have to order them, I just pick them up at the farmer's market or on the way home from work on days I'm in the Sandhills. The biggest concentration of NC peach growers is around Candor. The ones sold locally have been from Cameron.
Good peaches and tomatoes > "Fat," "Curvy,""Non-Fat," or "Non-Curvy" Kelly Clarkson
Beer sounds good. I splurged and got a Coke Classic instead. It's my secret shame.
jet...
Since I can obviously have one and not the other - I agree totally.
Fried orka = Nuggets From the Streets of Gold
Lefty winning would too good to be true. Having the mental focus for 4 days is gonna be tough for him I think.
Fried okra's good, too.
No me gusta okra frita.
I have a hard time stopping myself with the fried okra. It is invariably consumed until extinguished.
It may sound gross to some, but pickled okra is also very good.
I remember my dear late Mama's "Fanfare for the Quadruple Bypass"-- later named the "Do You Know the Way to Angioplasty?" --dinner:
Fried salmon croquettes
Fried okra
Macaroni and cheese
Turnip Greens
Fried cornbread
Sweet Tea
i ate so much slimey boiled and fried okra as a boy, i couldn't keep my socks up.
Sounds like sunday at my moms house BJ.
I love me some grilled okra, just stick it on the skewer with some tomato and onion, good eatin. Maybe a good filet with some file powder on it, ir stuffed with some oysters. Use that oyster liquor for some bearnaise. Oh yeah, i'm grillin tonight.
I love MrsTHT's fried okra. She slices it thin and coats it in corn meal. My dad could eat the slimy okra, but my selective palate will only tolerate MrsTHT's fried okra (in large quantities).
Greg made stuffed Poblano peppers last night that would have made you proud, Binoba!
Jet, my mom made that same dinner a lot when i was growing up. Delicious
fried cornbread?
sounds like you're talkin corn fritters
