Troy LB commits
Jawara White, a 6-foot-2 linebacker from Charles Henderson High, has announced plans to sign with Auburn in February. We know this because our friends at AuburnSports, AUTigers and Auburn Undercover say so.
Scout and Rivals, the top two scouting services, rate White as a three-star recruit (out of 5) and consider him one of the nation's 20-30th best outside linebackers.
He also had offers from Alabama, Arkansas, Ole Miss and a bunch of other major schools.
White is the sixth member of the Tigers' 2010 commitment class. Other members include:
OL Shon Coleman, Olive Branch, Miss.
LB Jake Holland, Pelham
ATH Shaun Kitchens, Atlanta, Ga.
K Cody Parkey, Jupiter, Fla.
WR Jeremy Richardson, Springville

WAR EAGLE!!
Thanks for starting a new thread Jay..savin me..
YES!
Mucha substancia esto dia
I want Marcus Lattimore and I want him to commit NOW.
I do too Mon, but I believe it will take awhile for him to do so.
I floated the 'hooch on Saturday in kiddie pool shaped like a shark.
Lascivious is a much better word than salacious.
When is the lineman from Springville committing? I thought I read where he is coming to AU, but as I do not follow it that closely I do nto know. Someone help me out here.
Aero-nice career choice. That tech is giving us lots of new toys to play with. We're not quite up to Star Trek standards but we've come a long way.
BTW, I surveyed the lab and we prefer Ruffles.
Nova can give you good pocket protector tips too.
Don't know if these guys can coach? But they can recruit pretty well.
Tip 1. Pocket protectors are redundant in a lab coat.
Tip 2. With a PhD, you don't need a pocket protector to make you a geek.
Tip 3. This has nothing to do with pocket protectors, but if you get the degree, Monica will accuse you of being Sheldon.
Monica ...
We need a ruling ... I read elsewhere that Mr. Seastrunk pronounces his first name "Lake."
but I love Sheldon
Lake? Hmmm...I'll call him and find out. I'll report back later.
Glad to have "Rah Rah" in the fold.
Generally, the ability to coach is bolstered by the ability to recruit.
Translated, God makes better football players than man does.
This is an important commitment. We need linebackers and this guy appears to be solid, at least from what I have read.
"Lake" you say? Well, my name is spelled N-O-R-M but it's pronounced as Inigo Montoya. You killed my father, prepare to die.
My name is humpty- pronounced with an -umpty
My name is:
Ted Nugent
Harry S. Truman
G. Gordon Liddy
Dr. Rosenpenis
Don Corleone
Among many others that I can't remember.
"Moon River..."
I thought it was Mr. Poon.
They call me 'hell'
They call me 'Stacey'
They call me 'her'
They call me 'Jane'
That's not my name
Well my name is Bocephus, I drink whiskey by the gallon. I never back down and I love a good challenge. What I do now is what I did then, I like to get down with all my rowdy friends.
B-O-C-E-P-H-U-S, oh yes.
Nova, lascivious is no where close to the word salacious when Monica says it.
Since when were UAB and Troy "major schools"?
It is pronounced like Auburn with a Lache.
And Mon, you posted something about Seastrunk contacting Seantrel Henderson trying to get him to take a look at AU... I had heard earlier today that Henderson was considering a visit to AU because of efforts by Marcus Lattimore...
I may have misheard... but, it would sure be nice to have those 2 RB's recruiting big Seantrel!
I believe the "major schools" would include Florida State and Kentucky.
Anyone watching this Braves game that just went into the 14th inning?
They call me ...
Dr. Love
Make that 15th inning...
I'm there with you Sean. Medlen is doing fine job so far. He needs to take care of this last out. It can't go into 16, can it?
At this point in the lineup it could...they're going into the rotation after Medlen. If ATL loses it won't be because of pitching.
Bases loaded... and the backup catcher at the plate. Come on Bravos.
INT walk on Kelly Johnson? Seriously??
Braves win! Braves win!
Bravos win!!! Bottom of the 15. Jeez. I have a feeling about this team. They don't all the tools to go all the way, but they have the potential to get the playoffs.
Holy crap! I thought Ross was going to mess that up.
He nearly did. Crazy stuff.
Basically a long squeeze play
"Hi. My name is what?"
"My name is who?"
"My name is.......Slim Shady."
Braves win. finally now i can catch some ZZZZZZZZZZZZZ's.
My name is Mud
Not to be confused with Bill or Jack or Pete or Dennis
My name is mud and it's always been
'Cause I'm the most boring sons-a-b*tch you've ever seen
I dress in blue-yes navy blue
From head to toe I'm rather drab except my patent shoes
I make 'em shine, well most the time
'Cept today my feet are troddin' on by this friend of mine
Six foort two and rude as hell
I got to get him in the ground before he starts to smell
My name is Mud
My name is Mud, but call me Alowishus Devadander Abercrombie
That's long for Mud so I've been told
Told that by this sonsab*tch that lies before me bloated blue and cold
I've got my pride, I drink my wine
I'd drink the finest except I haven't earned a dime in several months
Or were it years
The breath on that fat b*st*rd could bring any man to tears
We had our words, a common spat
So I kissed him upside the cranium with an aluminum baseball bat
My name is Mud
woohoo for JW! welcome aboard. i know i'm a little late to the party.
if we could pronounce obomanu and aromashudou we can learn to pronounce Lache "Lake". i'm still not sure i spelled the other two right and i'm not going to check. nite nite time.
Welcome Home, JW.
Someone inquired about rivals' team ranking. I would hate to ever defend that vile outlet that is run by a bammer (named 'lucky' or something) but the final rankings are black n white.
Rivals considers the top 25 recruits for every team.
Recruiting rankings, stars or championships are pointless. The only thing that matters is how many schools were recruiting the guy.
Good Morning Hotties!!!!
It's another GREAT day to be an AUBURN TIGER!!!
WARRRRRRRRRRRRRRR EAGLE!!!!
Morning THT.
Like a creepy stalker you can always depend on me to be there.
Good Morning, Hotties! Tar Heel, you're up early today! Maybe you got to listen to your tunes today because Mrs. THT was still sleeping!
I'm really impressed with the recruiting abilities of the new coaching staff. I'm still trying hard no to get too excited.
How many more days is it??
Morning Aero!
Luv - excellent music this morning:
Touch of Grey by Grateful Dead
Second Chance by .38 Special
He's Alive by Don Francisco
Tangled up in Blue by Bob Dylan
Hush by Deep Purple
actually, Luv, I got to listen to my tunes cause MrsTHT was already outside walking, watering flowers, etc.
off to work now. See y'all there!
Phil Steele apparently has Notre Dame ranked 7th in his preseason 'zine (on shelves today, folks!). WOW!!!
Getting to work before 6 rules. I've gotten more accomplished in the last hour than all of yesterday combined. Granted, I'm only cramming for a 10:30 meeting, but I might start doing this more often. Back to work.
7th??? Ahgghghh.
Good morning Hotties!
Time to enjoy the day known as Tuesday.
Eddie, it's BEASLEY DAY!!!
88 days and counting.
WARRRRR EAGLE!!!
I like it, Beasley Day, and it's also my Daughters first birthday. What a day.
It's also my sister's wedding anniversary, but I doubt she's celebrating. That was 2 husbands ago. I probably shouldn't remind her.
Happy Birthday to Eddie's daughter!
Beasley Day??
Luv- 88 Days to kickoff :)!
Terry Beasley #88
88 days to kickoff
The floor is open for nominations for tomorrow's 87
of course, nominations will be closed as soon as someone nominates Connie Frederick
I nominate tomorrow in honor of Coach Rocker, not his number, but the year of his first All-American season at Auburn.
As with my humor,I suck at this game.
PF - you raise a good question, perhaps inadvertently. What was Steve Wallace's # at AU? We may have to have double honors for some days.
So, what are the bammers saying about Auburn getting Jamara White?
Sorry, Luv.. it's against my religion to care what the bammers are saying, or to even look to see what they are saying.
Well, I don't look either, Tar Heel. It's a waste of time. I don't listen to sports talk radio either. I just wondered how they were playing it off. "We didn't need him anyway...yadda yadda yadda."
If we got a commitment from a player, then bama didn't want him. That is always the standard line.
At some point won't those recruiting services move Jawara's star rating down to a 2 or less since he's now going to Auburn (I'm buying into more anti AU bias)
What's up Hotties? One day closer to Friday and perhaps more importantly, one day closer to kickoff.
What's goin on Inigo
Do you have six fingers? If so....prepare to die!!
Has anyone seen White play in HS? Impressions?
THT...
Touch of Grey and Hush are great songs. I really like hearing other people sing Dylan written songs, but cannot bear to hear his voice.
Unfortunately, I was busy being born about the time Beasley was playing for Auburn. I like everything I hear about the guy and bet he would'be been one of my favorites. It's too bad you can't pull up video of him on the interwebs like today's players.
Dylan's voice doesn't bother me too much...it's better than mine, plus he can stay on key.. remind me never to sing for you, ehyou
Tar Heel, I'm sure you don't sing worse than Dylan.
Does Mrs. THT like how self-depricating you always are?
in honor of #88 BEASLEY Day, i have changed my profile pic to my favorite daughter, Beasley Pearl Brannan. :)
she's ready for some football! nice work THT.
Luv - the Good Lord has willed it upon MrsTHT to love me no matter, so she really doesn't have a say in the matter. She's definitely the better half.
ScottieB - your "daughter" is beautiful, though it looks like she got your nose ;-)
We want football! We want football!
I can't wait to see bob dylan and willie nelson at the wharf in orange beach!!!
Tar Heel, just one of the many things she loves about you...
i saw Willie Nelson last friday nite at RiverFest in Chattanooga. doesn't sound too bad to be 76 years old.
Tar Heel, BIG game tonight!
scottie, did he ever really that good?
*sound
woohoo.. Dale Jr Day.
incominggggg !!!
Luv - I'm debating whether or not to watch. The thought of seeing the commies raise the Cup on Penguins ice again like they did last year is nauseating. And if I would see Pens win tonight, it would be irrelevant since it would only delay the inevitable 2 more days.
ooh, I had the Beasley post and didn't realize it!
Scottie,
Please tell me you didn't go to Riverbend?
RK- We all know you are going strutting tonight.
Tar Heel, you really don't think they have a chance? I thought the Flyers won the Cup last year.
i stopped myself from bashing Willie in that previous post. no, he didn't sound good, but he's a legend. i figured i had to hear him once while he was still kickin'.
and yes, i did go to Riverbend. i needed to get out of Knoxville for a night with the fellas. we hit Taco Mac, then the concert. i doubt i'll go back any time soon but for one night it was ok. it was an interesting mix of folks fo shizzle.
I went to Riverbend with my dad a few years ago to see Skynyrd. It was worse than a race at Talladega
Luv - Red Wings won it on Penguins ice last year in six games. Tonight is Game 6, on Penguins ice.
If it goes back to Detroit for game 7, Pens have scored a total of 5 goals there in six Stanley Cup Finals games.
But, you must think positively!! So, when did the Flyers win? I could have sworn that was just last year.
it was in the 1970s, Luv
Son of a...were they in some kind of playoffs with the Capitals? I distinctly (I think!) two of my friends going at it via email. One was a Flyers fan and the other was a Capitals fan.
distinctly *remember...durn typos
Yes, Flyers eliminated Caps last year, but then lost to Penguins in conference finals.
Ok! Thanks, Tar Heel!
What up crew?
Mornin', Seanzie!
June is the slowest football month of the year.
This comment has been removed by the author.
Seanzie, what do you think about Glavine possibly filing a grievance?
I'm not a big Glavine fan, I wasn't when he left for the Mets, I wasn't when he tried to come back when they didn't want him. I think he had a lot of goodwill built up over the years and some people soured on him. I think it's a bad move on his part and will just alienate the people who feel bad for him. I always thought he was just about the money, but if he does that, he'll prove it.
boom goes the dynamite
Brethren, I walked outside this morning to grab my morning Agonizer, and to roll out the trash. I took a deep breath.
There was a familiar smell in the air. An odor that hinted of humidity and freshly cut grass. That odor that when mixed with the pungent smell of sweat creates the sweet perfume of football season.
And though it wasn't there, I could have sworn I heard a whistle tweeting, and the perpetual collision of young men in helmets and shoulder pads.
Somewhere, deep in my mind's eye, I could see mano a mano Oklahoma drills, and the relentless pounding of up-downs, and the never-ending running of the same play.
The same trap play run over and over. First, it was ragged, almost indistiguishable, then slowly refined into perfection, and ultimately into a brutal ballet.
Eighty-eight days, you tell me. No, it starts today. It starts today.
Rejoice, brethren, and be glad.
...and the clouds parted and there was the sweet rays of the sun and the angels sung together in a ringing chorus and all was right with the world.
Bad grammar not included.
Sup?
nuthin much. sup wit you?
Is it football season yet?
SUP!
Kritina is checking for her shadow. If she doesn't see it, she may stay around a little while :)!!!!!
I was worried about Kristinahxhx when she didn't show up with FSJ yesterday. Glad to see you are OK, old friend.
I'm still reading, I just haven't had anything particularly interesting to say so I haven't posted. Although "Is it football season yet?" isn't exactly inspired prose either...
I guess faker and I got our wires crossed. I thought we were supposed to post today not yesterday. There must be a glitch in our secret decoding system :-P
Lots of times I don't have anything interesting to say. In those cases, I just type a bunch of random letters or say something random like "boom goes the dynamite." Substance shmubstance!
Kristina- We mostly say nothing to take up time and live old debates. Good to hear from you.
Yes but my un-interesting stuff isn't nearly as interesting as your un-interesting stuff.
Your "secret decoding system"? How does it work? If someone says Tuberville 5 times, and Monica gets annoyed with Hoopie 2 times, and Harrison/Michael post nonsense 7 times, does that mean you agree to meet at 5:27 the next day?
Man, I guess it wasn't so secret after all.
Jet: The "same trap play ran over n over again" without any gain remind me of ctf's offense.

Today I saw 'transformers' for the first time. I can't figure out what was in the grandpa's sunglasses that was so important.
I am not going to watch it again, so if anyone knows, please enlighten me.
Michael: would you know any engineer with experience in instrumentation and data acquisition, looking for a job?
Yeah i'm not going to see willie and bob to have my face rocked off, i'm going to say i saw em' both together before either passes. I'll leave my face gettin rocked off to the drive by truckers, and Dan Auerbach from the black keys has a new album out that is awesome.
A-naut- although I have no idean what that means. I do know an engineer looking for a job
I have not seen it, but I will still give you my best guess as to what the sunglasses mean.
The old transformers catch phrase was "more than meets the eye," and I think that the sunglasses where a metaphor for that theme. Transformers look like trucks and boats and stuff, but then they change. You can't judge them by their appearances. In the same way, the sunglasses meet grandpa's eye. But they are more. So much more. They are also fashionable and protect him from harmful UV rays. Like the Transformers themselves, they are more than meets the eye.
No aero, I don't know any such engineers lookin for work.
I think there was a map or coordinates on the glasses that led to that cube thing the bad transformers were looking for.
the only reason I even made it through "transformers" was because Megan Fox was in it
Come on Harrison, admit it. Shia Laboof isn't too hard on the eyes, either.
did somebody say "map"?
he's no Zac Effron
Is there something in the bro code about misspelling teen heartthrobs' names wrong?
misspelling them wrong? what is the correct way to misspell them?
Nice catch, THT.
Kristina - I only said that hoping for a very clever/funny response from Harrison
I let you down THT. Now you know what it's like to be my parents or my wife or either of my friends
Harrison comes through in the clutch! He's my hero!!!
(don't tell Michael)

Kristina:
That's what I thought too. However the glasses got broken on the north pole (supposedly 'saving' the last image in the process, of the magnatron thing) whereas the cube was supposed to be under the Hoover dam. Also the magnatron thing was transported to a convenient location under the dam.
I'm so confused, even Megan Fox can't make me watch it again.
Scottie, Eddie & Harrison,
Living in Chattanooga I avoid Riverbend as much as possible.
The worst part is, they apparently open up neighborhoods deep in the mountain that never get out except for the week of Riverbend, because I'm just amazed at the people who show up for it.
The planners have a different idea of what headline acts are for my tastes as well.
The worst thing about the Transformers movie was the fight scenes where I had no clue who was fighting who because they made almost all of the Transformers in robot form look the same.
rk- i really like chattanooge. my dad lived there for a while. So i don't hold that one riverbend trip against the city
aero- he is a new grad, so would that rule him out?
I never thought Transformers to be the type of movie to confuse someone...no offese, it's just funny. When it comes to Michael Bay films there's no reason to sweat the details, just enjoy the spectacle.
since there is not much going on, i'll let ya know that i found a dog last week that i am trying to find a home for. i was told he is a mountain cur, a year old or so, golden short hair, and sweet as can be. if anyone is interested, he needs a good home. my kids just don't jive with him.
Harrison,
I love Chattanooga (good thing, since I live here) but hate Riverbend week.
They could do so much with that festival if they would condense it from 8 days to 3 or 4 and spend the money on bigger acts.
However if you came to see Skynyrd when they were here, then you got to see the worst of the worst, because people who hadn't seen the light of day from their corner of the mountain came out that day.
I've heard of Plott hounds, but Mountain Cur, that's a new one for me. As ignorant as I am, it's so simple to learn something new every day!
a staple for my trip was to play The Bear Trace at Harrison Bay. great, fun, golf course. Then downtown for beers and food
Yep. Harrison. 8 yrs experience (or MS +5, or PhD).
Sorry man.
Cur refers to a mutt, a dog of mixed ancestry, typically characterized as one who tends to growl frequently rather than maintain calm
despite the above definition, there are several recognized breeds of curs.
You gotta love Auburn alums and their wiki'd ideas.
A-naut, I have no idea then about the movie.
Oh and by the way, we have a few Facebook group requests but we can't approve you until you e-mail me or Jay what name you use on here to post. My email is krisandkirby@gmail.com
A cur is also a squirrel dog. They are very similar to the feist, with a bit longer legs. While there are no official breed standards, there are certain traits that squirrel dog breeders cultivate.
he's actually pretty chill THT. he only really wants to bark at my cat. we wrestled yesterday and he seemed to really like that. he's a bit clumsy. i'm guessing b/c he's still pretty young. he's a trip going up and down the back stairs.
I meant to mention yesterday that the look on Chevy's face in ehyou's avatar makes me think that there should have been a dutch oven scene in Fletch (or in one of the Vacation movies, for that matter. European Vacation could have used one).
someday I will join facebook.
That scene would have been set in the Netherlands, by the way.
Someday I will cancel facebook.
I never heard of a cur. I've never heard of a Plott either. I had to Google it
Mountain Cur
Some day, when I'm awfully low,
When the world is cold,
I will feel a glow just thinking of you...
And the way you look tonight.
the picture is close Luv but my guy is golden. like Old Yeller.
They are very cute!
someday facebook will destroy the earth
Is Facebook a robot then?
let's play the game, i'm the quarterback
don't stop homey
i go to jail if i get sacked
so block for me
facebook is the precursor to SkyNet.
yep. I think it's covered in the next Terminator movie
Megan Fox, Young Buck, and Terminator references. this thread rocks!!!!
I have a Plott Hound named Aubie. Think hound dog that looks like a calico cat.
Anyone going to see Chizik tonight?
If you've seen one Chiz, you've seen 'em all.
but if you've seen one........doesn't it make you want to see them all?
just askin'.
Scottie B - the coolest of all hotties
;-)
the only reason I know about Plott hounds is that breed is the official state dog, having originated in the NC mountains.
there are only a few dog breeds of American origin, the Plott hound being one.
HABOTN is so educational, JayGT should put it on the Discovery Channel
If you are in the mood for comedy, check out Finebaum's article on AL.com. He blames Tuberville for starting the talk about Saban cheating in recruiting. I guess the thought that Saban and his beloved Tide WERE cheating never crossed his mind. I think PF would be happier if everyone just silently fumed about Saban's recruiting methods. Jet was right when he talked about how things have changed since the old days.
only if the Chiz is chillin in Chapel Hill
Depends on how well you liked the first Chiz, eh Scottie?
you betta believe it Sean!
thanks Monnie.
the Discovery Channel. i never watch it. but didn't the Bloodhound Gang write a song about that once upon a time?
Eddie - I just sent you an email with a HUGE attachment. If you don't get it soon let me know so I can send it a different way.

Thanks Mon, i'm going to read it right now.

(shaking head)
anybody pick up the new Gren Day cd? good stuff.
I'll ask my daughter next time I see her Scottie B. I've got Barry Sadler's Green Beret, but I don't have any Green Day.
but I do love Green Bay.
THT.. dunno where Chiz is Chillin. But Tubs is chilling somewhere close to you on a golf course. He's on the Coachs vs Cancer golf tournament.
Linky Dink
Tubs was on the 'coaches' side. They invited tony franklin to play on the 'cancer' side but he declined with some incoherent ramblings about religion.
Nicely done, Aeronaut.
Silver wings upon their chest
These are men, America's best
One hundred men we'll test today
But only three win the Green Beret
I love me some John Wayne and that movie is on my favorites list.
Yahoo's finance page names Auburn as one of the top 10 places to live in America.
Here is their write up.
For Southern charm with collegiate vigor, consider Auburn, Ala. This diamond on the eastern Alabama plains has a population of just under 50,000 and is home to Auburn University. On football Saturdays, when die-hard fans arrive in droves to cheer their beloved Tigers, Auburn swells to the state's fifth-most-populous city. And as Auburn's largest employer, the university also plays a starring role in the local economy.
With mild winters and hot summers, the city offers no shortage of outdoor recreation opportunities. Find a nice hiking trail in the 696-acre Chewacla State Park before cooling off with an afternoon swim. Take a stroll through the Donald E. Davis Arboretum, located on the Auburn University campus.
Golfers can head to nearby Grand National golf course and wend their way through the state along the beautiful Robert Trent Jones Golf Trail. "Once you have been there, you just want to come back," says John Cannon, president of SunBelt Golf Corp., which manages the trail.
RK, makes me want to get in the car and visit this weekend.
I'm heading over tomorrow for Camp War Eagle!
Top 10? WOW!
that was funny, Aero!
The Chiz will be chillin' at the Embassy Suites downtown Montgomery tonight--Auburn Club appearance. And I'll be there!
I think I hear some Byrds.
There is a season, turn, turn, turn.
2 BILLS!!!!!!!!
