Chizik: The Full Story
The Advertiser's video ace, Shannon Heupel, has produced an 8-minute video of Gene Chizik's talk with supporters at the Montgomery Auburn Club last night.
The coach discusses ... pretty much everything.
NOTE: I initially embedded this, but having a really loud advertisement playing in your face every single time you load the blog probably isn't enjoyable to you.

ONE!
Jay G, thanks for removing the loud, annoying advertisement!
way to go LUV!
Luv with the quick trigger! Well done.
Nice job, Luv!!! Way to rep the Chickalicious Hotties!
nice work last nite JG.
congrats Luv.
Thank Shannon for doing a good job of editing! I like hearing him talk with other video going on...made it a lot less boring.
"You go pray, I'll go pack."
I like it.
I just read a new term for Findbum..."hobgoblin". Isn't that perfect?
Nice job, Shannon, on the video!
i think hobgoblins everywhere are preparing to march on your house sean. they want their good name back.
I just happened to come back to the blog after doing an x-ray and there was the new thread. I thought for sure someone would beat me to it while I was signing in. I can't watch the video here at work, 'cause there's no sound. :-(
Well done, Chip, I actually laughed out loud at that one.
Nice job on the video-sound editing.
"We don't necessary want the best player....we want the right player for Auburn".
What are the ramifications of a secondary violation?
Not much Phred, not much.
I thought maybe it was like speeding tickets. Get enough secondary violations and you get a point.
It could be. I always just think they keep them on file until you really muck up and then the just tack them on to the tab.
hobgoblin!
another attempt at a link. hope it works.
while we are linking stories...i thought this one was interesting. I didn't know Dr. Muse, but I had respect for him from afar.

Hoopie - he actually answered the question we discussed yesterday. I hope he answered truthfully and that it's not just an excuse for when AU doesn't get a recruit.
Did anyone else catch Jeff Sentell's blog about Jeremy Richardson?
Jeremy Richardson did commitment the right way
We have apparently fallen out of the lead for Victor Beasley and he visited Alabama and James Willis. Undercover is reporting he now ranks us 5th behind Bama, Duke, East Carolina, and Clemson. He said he likes the competition at Alabama and their focus on championships. He also said he would have committed on the spot, but his dad, the former Auburn player, advised him against it.
Thanks for the link, Aero. I hate to admit it, but below the article there were some surprisingly classy comments by most of the Bammers. Their regular posters must have been at a monster truck rally/dogfight/chitlin' eating contest or something similar.
Aero, great article! Now THAT'S the kind of player I want at Auburn! Not that anyone cares what I think...
Jeremy Richardson is the kind of kid I like to see going to Auburn I got the same feeling about Jawara White. I know people didn't buy into Tuberville's comments about getting the right player for Auburn than just chasing the stars, but it is very true.
It is nice to see that Mike Berry looks to be a starter this season. He is one of these four stars that has never seemed to live up to his billing, although he did start some last season. Hopefully Grimes will get him to the level he was expected to reach when he signed.
I am disturbed.
Honors College dude during his remarks refers to "JOR-dan Hare Stadium."
I thought ElTurbo was going to go Eltoro on him.
I can't open the interview's video. ganett gives me a blank page. I can open all other video sites on my linux laptop.
Steve, are you able to get the page on your linux box?
Jet, did you the *COUGH* Jurdan *COUGH*?
No, but I'll be seeing him at JUR-dan Hare for a 5 a.m. tour.

Stadium steps for the Honors College dude? I like it.
Honors College is overrated. I was in it, it sucks, way too much extra work and not enough reward. That and 1.50 will get you coffee at the nearest Dunkin'
Speaking of which, wifey called and we got a letter in the mail today. My (going into) second grade daughter was accepted into the gifted program. Thank goodness she takes after mom.
Jet, I must admit, I have a hard time saying JURdan.
I also have a hard time with the Jordan/Jerdan thing.
Maybe I'll start going by "TOT-yay". You know, French pronunciations and all.

What is this world coming to? Not only is Jordan sometimes pronounced "Jurdan" (my wife's maiden name is Jordan but her father pronounces it Jurdan but I refuse to just to annoy him), now Jet tells us that Lache is actually pronounced "Lake".
Norm, that would be correct.

Auburn made US News and World Report's Top 10 Places to Live.
Our daughter did the Honors program for the first 2 years i order ot get preferential class scheduling. She dropped after that.
Scott.....accpetable coach speak dictates that each school always goes after the "right" recruits instead of the "best" recruits. This would be true for Carroll, Saban, Tubs, Brown... or Chizik. The truth?...we can only guess in hindsight.
No coach in his right mind is going to throw his recruits under the bus and state the he had to settle for less than what he wanted.
And that is Top 10 in all of the United States not just East Alabama for anyone trying to be a smart alec.
I know Jordan's from Alabama who pronounce it Jurdan. I don't call it Jurdan stadium.
Kristina....If we ever move away from our enjoyable life in NW Ga, we plan to move near our friends in Auburn.
Wifey went to HS there and several of my buddies have moved back as life allowed.
what, you don't say JUR-dan???!!
BLASPHEMY!!!!!!!!
I don't see why it's a big deal to pronounce it the same way the man pronounced his name as silly as we may think that pronunciation is. It's named after him, right?
And Auburn is a fabulous place to live. I highly recommend it, Hoop.
Anyone who continues to call it JOR-dan Hare, even after being instructed that it is pronounced JUR-dan Hare deserves to be chop blocked.
Are you the one who intends on delivering the chop block, Jet?
i've got your back on this one Brother Jet.
bring it.
If you know the proper pronunciation, why would you not use it? I do not understand.
FYI: NCAA infractions ruling expected today for Bama

I don't go out of my way to say Jordon it's just one of those things. When I"m talking to the JURdon's I call them by their name. If I'm hanging with Shug's clan, I'll make a concerted effort to pronounce it JURdon. Actually, I don't have occasion to even say "Jurdon Hare Stadium" very often. I say THE stadium. This is a silly conversation.
I want to know how much it cost Auburn to be put on the top 10 list. I don't get it. There are a few on this list that I wouldn't put there.
Albuquerque, N.M.
Auburn, Ala.
Austin, Texas
Boise, Idaho
Durham, N.C.
La Crosse, Wis.
Loveland, Colo.
San Luis Obispo, Calif.
St. Augustine, Fla.
Boise?? ANYWHERE in Wisconsin?? Albuquerque?
Upper St. Clair, Pa.
What really gets me is when national talking heads pronounce it wrong.
I don't remember if Herbie pronounced it wrong or not, but I don't need a reason to punch him in the neck - I don't like the way he looks.
Some of you folks look for things over which to be offended.
You name the date and place you want to deliver my chop block and I'll be there, Scottie B cuz I KNOW Jet is 150% tawlk and no action.
I've heard everything from Jurdan to Jawrdan.
I'll just pronunce it 'Urdan', like the the Arabic pronunciation of that country southeast of Syria.
now what fun would it be for you to know when this chop block is coming? that's part of the fun!
I'm with Dr. Naut. It's Urdan.
There's less hullabaloo over NTSB investigations that this bamer NCAA stuff.
bring it little boy
That deserves a big ol' playground "Ooooooooo, she told you!"
i've been threatened by women my entire life and i'm still kickin'. i'll take my chances with miss west virginia. ha.
uh, Jet....you've got my back too, right?
If necessary, yes. As one who owns a name that is most commonly spelled a way other my family spells it, I guess find it peculiar that someone would knowingly spell or pronounce a name incorrectly, particularly of someone you respect.
My maiden name is French and has a silent "X" in it, Jet so I understand where you're coming from.
I didn't realize those cities paid to be on the Top 10 list. Guess it isn't such a big deal after all. I love living in Auburn anyway.
Actually, Scottie, you're the one doing the threatening mr. chop block.
As someone who is married to a man named Donna Hoe, I can't relate at all.
Silly, silly people.
"Why so serious?"
just pickin' gal. you so upset you won't return a brotha's email? my bad yo.
Regarding the NCAA ruling on the UAT textbook stuff, details should be available to the media no later than tomorrow.
I just got your email, Scottie! And since when did you start taking me seriously??? c'mon shugah
Note to self; you've done your silly deed for the day. Good
Anyone heard if Brandon Jacobs will not play at Auburn after being drafted by MLB yesterday?
I shouldn't have said "no later than tomorrow". Should be "as early as tomorrow afternoon" (around 2:00).
Releasing the NCAA sanctions against Bammer is akin to Lucy place-holding a football for Charlie Brown to kick.
"This time is for real"
HAHAHAHAHA perfect Hoopie
If Jacobs went third round or earlier, he is nuts to not go pro.
Donovan Tate from our local HS went #3 overall. That's worth about $2 mil. He is...er... was a 4 star football commit to UNC.
I just remembered something...catch you hotties later.
Hoopie, good Charlie Brown analogy (and you may still be right), but even B'ham's Bammer-centric sports radio is reporting that UAT received the ruling from the NCAA today. They have 24 hours before it is released to the media.
I just remembered something too but I'm still stuck on this con-call. So I'm not going anywhere.
If Bammer loses TV exposure (doubtful that the SEC will let that happen).....will 2010 commits then defect? Will Julio play one more and go pro?
Kinda goes back to the "best" vs "right" issue.
Brandon Jacobs got drafted in the 10th round.
To be or not to be, that's the $1 Million question.
dunno about Jacobs, but according to auburnsports.com, Chizik has already offered a (to be) Junior QB named Kiehl Frasier. he is at Malzahn's old high school in Springdale, Arkansas. they still run his old offense there apparently.
there was not a pronunciation guide for his first name. sorry. :)
Scottie B - I think that in this case, Kiehl is pronounced "Bob".
Here's something cool for y'all who like trivia.
NCAA Showdown
i can do AU trivia all day long. everyone else....not so much. i know nothing about the Big 12 except for THE BOZ. he juiced but he was ausome!
shoot, i even got that wrong. the Big 12 didn't start until 1996. geez.
This is a first. I'm slammed at work and come in here a few times today to get caught up and it only takes a couple of minutes to read the postings since my last visit. Where are you people? Don't you know how I count on you to keep me entertained while I sit on my many con-calls during the day?
I may be 3 years late, but I'm still in time for...
BEASLEY!!!
