Throw another shimp on the (television) barbe
Hey everyone. The Southeastern Conference just announced that Fox Sports Net has brokered a new television deal. FSN actually negotiated with ESPN, which bought the rights to SEC football this time last year.
Anyway, the FSN family of networks (Fox Sports South, Sun Sports and Fox Sports Southwest) now will exclusively televise nine live football games each season -- beginning this fall.
If you want to know about times, well, I don't have that information just yet.
Here's what the entire deal includes:

If you want to know about times, well, I don't have that information just yet.
Here's what the entire deal includes:
- Seven live, exclusive football games (presumably non-conference tilts)
- 20 men’s basketball games
- 24 women’s basketball games (16 regular season, eight tournament)
- 16 baseball games (10 regular season, six tournament)
- 24 additional Olympic sporting events (softball, volleyball, soccer, gymnastics)

Can we please expound on the litigation talk? I have tons of conjecture and hearsay to put on the table.
(kidding sean)
I am on hiatus until I am able to provide my fellow readers with positive news.
We will beat LA Tech soundly because that is the natural order of the universe. Who am I to argue with the universe?
expound
nice
1202, are you giving us news or opinion?
the LaTech game that sticks in my mind was vs Nebraska a few years back. LaTech receiver predicted he'd have something like 200 yards against the Big Red defense. He was way off base. He had 405 yards receiving that day on 21 catches.
Mon, are you typing from your phone?
AU1292,
I'll admit that I don't follow what people say on every post, but I think it's just that every single post of yours seems to be something new negative to add and you don't seem to participate unless it's that topic.
I'll gladly be wrong with my above paragraph, if you do participate in other conversations.
In the 2001 Auburn/LaTech game, Daniel Cobb set or tied two Auburn records that still stand.
Most TD's thrown in one game (5)
Most INT's thrown in one game (4)
Thanks for taking a vow of silence for the team, 1292. I don't think there are enough happy pills in the world for me to survive many more of those posts.
Just kidding. You are welcome to post anytime. I'll just become dAUf2
Dr Habotn has recommended a course of therapy consisting of a relaxing weekend at a Lache party.
Of course, my training staff may have other plans.
i'm thinking 1292's name should be UA1292 instead. hhhmmmm....
i'm typing from my brother in laws laptop at the moment - one handed- baby Maya in the other
I'm cool with 1292. Something around here has to balance out the optimism of Jet and others.
why?
jay g serves that purpose, michael
scottie b. brining the conspiracy
i like it
Last I heard, there was talk about litigative action. I am making the rounds and attempting to understand what is going on and what isn't going on.
Auburn's QB situation with Todd/Caudle/Kodi reminds me of Cobb/campbell.
BTW, I am not a Campbell fan as his best year was with two top 5 draft RBs.
At this point, I'd take Daniel Cobb over this bunch of nothing.
I would be happy to go to JayGT's HALBOTN for any further news on the Ramsey subject.
JayGT - I'd rather you find out who's visiting and who ain't
At least against La Tech this is the first game for our new coach/team and we shouldn't suffer from overconfidence. We will probably just have to out-physical them. Ain't much more to it than that.
Discussing ramifications of lawsuits is more real than dreaming up paranoid reasons for a duck hunt. At least we've mentally grown a little.
Macho,
I would take Campbell or even Cobb over any of the QB's we have in the running right now...at least from what I've seen from the ones we have.
Say what you want about Cobb, he wasn't afraid to try to do something with the football.
Campbell had a great 2002 season under Petrino as a platoon and the late season starter.
All of those same pieces were in tact in 2003 and in now way can the blame of the bad offense in 2001 or 2003 fall on Campbell.
"no way" not "now way"
Some folks get really angry when dirty laundry is discussed and take a "we're right and the rest of the world is wrong" attitude. Bammers excel at this.
I don't mind discussing and learning from mistakes. That being said: I think excessive negative speculation is harmful.
Monnie, think about it. after the AU, you've got 12 & 92. i'm thinking the '12' the bammers fuss over and '92 was the last NC for the bammers. throw in the negative talk....and you've got a conspiracy baby!
just call me Sherlock Scottie!
j/k. i have no idea what i'm talking about. ha.
I was thinking that all along, must be a living in Tennessee thing.
I'm a believer, Scottie!
P.S. What is a shimp?
A real football game would cure all of this.
I'm sure Lane Kiffin will save the day next week by saying something stupid at media days.
Sadly I have no positive news, just wanted to clear a few things up. I am currently a student at Auburn and I fully support the school and its athletics program. The significance of '1292' is fraternal. I would say that most of my posts are fact-based, they are facts with a little twist of my own opinion added to them. Hopefully, the next time I return I will have something positive to share.
51 days, Mon, just 51 days
Scottie...not bad sleuthing, but if 1292 is a Bammer, he's not very good at it.
A good Bammer post would be something like I posted earlier regarding the immediacy of this weekend. Hey.....I'm not a Bammer am I?
Speaking of this weekend, it's been decided that I'm staying at home in No Ga. and working on the Scout Hut, thus missing the wedding(yay!), but also foregoing a chance to stalk the athletic complex for recruits and spur on spontaneous Toomer's rollings.
time to start a long commute. I'll catch up with y'all Hotties later.
whew! good to know 1292. i was getting worried. glad to know you're on the Plains friend. WDE.
I'd settle for a pick up football game in front of my office.
oh, i was confused Hoopie. i was thinking the Scout Hut was in auburn too. oh, well.
I don't think you should stop posting 1292. At least your negativity adds a little fuel to a less than hot HABOTN.
Now Hoopie has to go out and get a Scout Hut project started lest Mrs. Hoopie discover it was all an anti-wedding ploy!
What did he say that was so out of this world negative? Don't make me ctrl + f and find out for myself.
I'm going to that big huge farmers market in B'ham tomorrow morning. I'm excited. Going to get my peach fix afterall. My plan is to hide Maya among the peaches and take her back to WV with me.
Michael...I wouldn't consider Jet an overly positive fan. His observations seem hopeful, but realistic and knowledgeble. You can however, normally expect him to recite the company line.
Since Tubs has been fired, yes, but Jet was pretty darn negative/non company line before then.
I don't think Jet is illogical and I don't think SteveFC is illogical. My whole point is there is a place for everyone, don't hate on someone because their perception is negative. Respek!
When did I become the patron saint of optimists? We can win 8. We can lose 7.
Shhh everyone, he's here, stop talking about him!
Oh hi Jet. What's up?
Steve can most certainly be illogical. That's just fact. Even a sheep salesman can see that.
The crazy things Steve says certainly may be true. We may suck for 5 years. Chris Todd may end up being the starter. Tubs might have had us playing for the SEC championship in a quicker fashion. All this sort of stuff is guesswork, no one is right or wrong on it at this point. He chooses to be contradictory and pessimistic, so be it. It doesn't mean his predictions won't happen.
And I don't sell sheep. The sheep are just collateral. We've been over this. Don't ask me about my business.
Dyer looks like he won't be making the trip this weekend either...After scrounging through all my negativity, I have come to an unequivocal conclusion. Seastrunk, Dixon, and Dyer are waiting until next weekend to visit so Reed can tag along and they can all commit together. That better?
Michael,
I don't think there was one post was out of this world negative, but every post was something negative.
Mon...You and Hoopette do NOT need to meet...ever.
I've just about got her thinking this is her idea. She's presently preoccupied doing a farewell trip to our lakehouse with her girlfriends prior to our selling it next week.
Current economy + real estate development = selling of assets.
The alarm has not gone off at the Steve cave for some time, I'm beginning to worry.
It is illogical to contradict oneself thereby making him illogical. I support his right to be illogical as often as his lil ole heart desires.
Your sheep are my business. wink wink
I so look forward to meeting Mrs. Hoopie one day. It will happen. Oh yes, my friend. It WILL happen...
*wicked grin*
Do I need to become the pipeline for endless optimism or do we have someone to fill this role already?
Actually Michael....I consider his positions pre and post firing to be the company line.
Maybe Steve had to go undercover? Why do I have a visual of Steve wearing an aluminum foil hat with all his windows blacked out?
New, Ramsey-related thread is up.
Mon,
Getting hammered would cure this as well.
Ramsey case is not against AU. It is against Nall and the trainer that forced him ot begin excessive workouts. Chaz is still at AU and plans to graduate from AU, if things do nto get ugly over this.
