In terms of stability, the Bham News is much more so. The Bham News is a part of the Newhouse newspaper chain, which is a conglomerate now, but has its roots in a family owned business from not too many years back.

The Advertiser, of course, is owned by Gannett, which is the scourge of the media universe.

I did hear that Bham News employees, though, were being forced to take 5-6 percent paycuts. No layoffs.; 9:34 PM
