First Post: Tuesday
Hey everyone. Big news yesterday. My parent company, Gannett, has joined forces with the Associated Press to rebuke the SEC's "revised" credential policy. In short, all Gannett and AP employees have been instructed to not accept credentials over disagreements with the restrictions placed on the use of said credentials.
You can read more about it here: Gannett, AP refuse to sign new sports credential policy
I'm 99.9% sure this will be rectified before Sept. 5. Still, it's possible we'll encounter turbulence. The SEC doesn't want me live blogging from the games.
Anyway, here's the Auburn situation at this moment:

TODAY'S SCHEDULE
Auburn returns to practice today for a 4:20 p.m. soiree. It is partially open to the media, which means I may be able to shoot video. My company would prefer that I miss the open practice and instead attend a training to help me avoid slips/falls at work. My ability to produce a video hinges on my ability (or inability) to avoid that training.
Regardless of how that situation unfolds, I'll have comprehensive post-practice notes for you. If I don't do a practice video, I'll do an interview video. I'd hate to see you wither without Auburn video.
Here's what the next few days look like:
Tue., Aug. 25, 4:20 p.m. (partially open to media)
Wed., Aug. 26, 4:20 p.m.
Thu., Aug. 27, TBA (partially open to media)

way to go cincy!!!
The SEC is just ridiculous. What the heck are they thinking? Do they really believe that people blogging from games take away from people watching the games? What's the angle here? I cannot make it make any sense.
you can't watch the video on your iphone while driving to Auburn?
Some wonder why my attitude toward UAT is the way it is.
I got a reminder today as I was drving to work, punishing myself by listening to the morning talk show.
A caller, presumably an everyday sort, was trying to weave together a ridiculous pretzel of logic that perhaps "The Love Boat" cruise of Julio, Ingram and the Friend, Not Booster sailed into international waters and thereby outside the jurisdiction of the NCAA.
Nevermind the boat departed and arrived from the good ol' U.S. of A. Maybe they'll want to secede from the Union every other time they want to break a rule.
How about this? Acknowledge the players shouldn't have done it ... suspend them for a game like AU did when Burger and Thompson went on a hunting trip and be done with it.
The NCAA doesn't have a jurisdiction. At all. They don't even have subpeona power. That's the most ridiculous argument ever. A player can lose your amateur status in Africa as easily as in Tuscaloosa.
