Substance to the 1st degree
AU by 14, going away. As long as the ST doesn't goof up and give them the short field.
Like the closing music. Tight.
settlin for 4th again
What've Ya'll been saying the last couple of days?
I like typing ya'll. It doesn't sound natural when I say it, but it works okay in print.
Well, technically, it's "y'all", not "ya'll", but we'll let it slide.
oh, yeah. y'all. I blame my English teacher and her refusal to recognize it as a word.
I have no substance at 00:05 EDT, but I'm still hatin' UT.
How's the campaign trail?
34 days to go (well, I guess 33 now). I'll sleep in November.
Other than than, it's going pretty well. I'm getting great feedback from folks I'm meeting; I just hope I'm meeting enough folks!
Thanks for asking.
You can never meet enough. Just meet as many as you can, especially the loud ones, cause they'll talk to all of their friends about you.
Be sure to kiss hands and shake babies when on the campaign trail.
Michael, I'd like to kick you in the teeth.
You know Michael, I actually said that to someone the other day, and it took a couple of seconds before it registered. I'm glad it was a friend... and not a mom...
and on that note, I'm out.
Oh, before I go... now that it's October, I'd like start reminiscing about former UT coach Great Pumpkin.
but I digress... good night all, and War Eagle.
Kudos for the closing music. I am really not sure what to make of Boulware's comments. Yes, I know there are a lot of inexperienced players playing in the kicking game, but we have been pretty terrible in kickoff coverage.
wow. Bammer fans aren't just obnoxious on Al.com. ESPN has a few of them, too.
What's the closing music? My speakers are blown.
I don't know the tune. It just sounded cool, and kind of eerie, which fit because I was wondering why Boulware was sounding so positive.
This video has a different feel to it than most. Boulware was more positive than Chizik or Troop. Roof was roof. Chiz provided a quick weather report and said it was a good day, but has he had a bad day?
I don't know. I just kind of get a different feel from this video. It could just be because the coaches are tired.
The Others? That's awesome. What, no 'Lost' fans in here?
I guess that means Boulware is our Benjamin Linus. Sneaky character who you never really have figured out. Means after four games of craptastic special teams play that our boys are going to ball on Saturday night in Knoxville.
He did say they are improving. I am just looking for a solid performance. Special teams is a concern, although I don't think it will cost us this game.
In this game I think we see if Todd is really all that. As long as he plays smart. we should be fine. I look for a lot of zones from the full Monte and that leads to picks if your QB isn't on.
I love the Ted Roof quick exit appearances in the videos. The guy just loves these interview segments. I'm sure his days as HC at Duke has brought him nothing but love for the media :).
I also like "the Others" comments, but I don't watch Lost.
Mornin', hotties!
I do think Coach Roof was a re-run from a previous video. Good epilog, though.
Also liked the closing music.
once 2 strangers climbed ol rocky top lookin' for a moonshine still.
strangers ain't come down from rocky top reckon they never will.
BEAT THE VOLS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Morning Hotties BEAT THE VILES
I will be among the missing this week end. Going Deep Sea Fishing and will be gliding under the bridge from Zekes Friday morning.
I will be watching the game from "The Keg" Sat. night. Go Big Blue.
so.....what's the latest on the Iown poll situation?
j/k.
Stand and sing:
Rocky Top,
You'll always be
Object of Hate for me....
Great video, Jay. Unfortunately, I made the mistake of going to bed and leaving the browser open; we woke up to the "knowledge is power" commercial. I'll remember to shut ti down before going to bed in the future.
Peter, you shouldn't give in to Freep so easily. I think ya'll is correct, not y'all. Forget about what any dictionary says, those are all made by Yankees. Ya'll is not a contraction of you and all, its ya and all. A redneck says, "what ya doin'?" when speaking in the singular, and "what ya'll doin'? in the plural.
Yankee English is a really messed up language, using the same pronoun, you, for second person singular and plural. This results in all sorts of misunderstandings. It took rednecks to correct it.
Ya'll have a good day.
Sorry, coosa, but I think it really is y'all, short for you all. The water tower in Florence, KY says so!
Y'all tower
Nice theory, Coosa. I don't think it flies, though. I've got too many teachers in my family. They are all southern, and all of them would disagree with you. Regardless of the spelling, the important thing is to stick with "y'all" and stay away from "you guys".
coosa now I am glad you straightened that out for me I have always been confused on that ...well and many other things.
Great Video
Sub-Headline Gadsden Times "Statehouse experiences rat infestation".
How is this news, it alwasy has been infested with rats.
And please stay away from "youse guys"
Great closing music JayG, but I miss the chimes. See ya'll in Ka-nox-ville.
Heading south. ya'll have a good day and great weekend.
Maybe it doesn't fly, but ya'll are right in saying that the way you say it is what's important.
But you gotta realize that there is no publication that is the final authority on Redneck Speak. All of the books have a Yankee influence, and I have tried to eliminate all of the Yankee influence from my speaking and writing. Check out Eddie's show and you'll see that I've got the Southern accent mastered. ;)
Notice that in that last sentence I used "you'll see;" that's the contraction for you and all and it is part of Redneck English. Ya'll is a different word.
By the way, I got an MEd from Auburn and feel qualified to argue this point with any teachers in Scott's family. ;) I once tried to set up an internship under Larry the Cable Guy, but then I found out he was from Nebraska.
All of ya'll have a good day.
Ain't an ounce of yankee in me, but I gotta stick with y'all folks who prefer y'all over ya'll.
Curious that yankee gets a red underline just like ya'll does. They want me to make it a proper noun. THWT. Ain't nothin' proper bout it.
Did you say "two Utes"
Y'all hold it together. I'm going to talk to a man (banker) about a condo. If we get it, big party for the bama game!! Keep your fingers crossed.
good luck Cincy.
I respectfully disagree with Boulware. Can't say that the young 'uns have improved every game. That's just me though.
****MOVIE QUOTE****
If a cannibal ate with a knife and fork, would you call that progress?
Craig Sanders committing to AU is HUMONGOUS! I sure hope he doesn't change his mind again. I thought his mom was a bammer?
Just remember what Bammer Online Insider Jonathan Franco said on Sportsline with John and Barry a few months ago:
"Alabama didn't really want Craig Sanders but they went from slow playing him to all over him because no way was Saban going to let Auburn get an in-state five star prospect."
I expect Sanders' stock to drop significantly in the recruiting services "rankings."
So what? Glad to see our coaches not give up just because someone says something nearly a year before signing day.
Back to work here in San Antonio.
War Eagle!
THT, I'm with you on Sanders. A huge pick-up for Auburn considering the way Nicki has had easy pickings recruiting in-state. I love the fight that the new staff has shown.
Sensi: I was joking with B-Matt last night that Sanders' rating will drop at least one star during the next month. He'll either "perform below expectations" or "lose some mobility" in October.
Weird how that works, huh?
I hate me some recruiting.
