Late updates, 10/27
Hey everyone. We only got a few players today, but The Bull was one of them. It's been a while since we have spoken with Eltoro Freeman ... but he certainly didn't disappoint.

- He took the Arkansas week off at Gene Chizik's behest.
- He had grown increasingly frustrated by falling short of expectations -- from both internal and external sources.
- ``I felt like I was letting myself down, my fans down, my teammates
down. They were really looking forward to me coming in and making an
impact and I felt like I wasn't doing that. That was just really
frustrating for me." - On when he realized things were getting away from him: ``After the games watching film. When I'd go back and watch film, I'd say: That's not me at all. I can't even explain it. Things just weren't clicking for me."
- That frustration sapped his love for the game.
- The week off invigorated his exuberance.
- On if he thought about leaving: ``I didn't even think about leaving. The program's too great to leave. We have great coaches. Great players. Everybody's great. Coach Chizik saw that I was really down. I was down coming to practice. I wasn't the same Eltoro. He told me to take a break, relax, regroup. That's what I did."
- Walt McFadden is super tight with Patrick Trahan, the former Auburn linebacker who now plays at Ole Miss.
- They were supposed to be roommates in 2008 and McFadden was complaining (with a smile) that Trahan stuck him with some extra rent after electing to leave. Trahan apparently didn't discuss his decision to leave with McFadden.
- ``Actually, I'm still pretty upset with that because he left me with all the rent. And I had to pay a fine for that. Hopefully, I can try to get that back this weekend."
- McFadden, asked about the circumstances surrounding Trahan's departure from Auburn, provided an interesting answer: ``He hates that he had to leave. He made a big mistake trying to lie his way out of things."
- Hot Carter and McFadden have been friends since they were school-agers. Their dads worked together and remain close friends to this day.

First without substance DWWD
I guess all the infighting on the HABOTN has run everyone off....
Not me I am a lover not a fighter
or at least I use to be
Yeah, Jay I do love the picture of Gene kissing his wife!! That's all the love we need on the HABOTN!
Did not Trahan flunk out?
Trahan has claimed that his grade problems were the result of other people's failures.
If that doesn't make sense, well, you're not the only one confused.
I can't stop fighting.
People will stop eventually.
I'm sick of the silly pawing and, honestly, I'm going to ignore it unless someone crosses the line.
I am sick of it, though.
Jay, I believe Trahan was a late qualifier as well, but I could be wrong. If you can't make the grades at AU with all the support and resources they have for football players, you need to go to ole miss.
It serves no purpose on a Blog. Hope we win Saturday and maybe that will cure it. Big order though.
I've been stuck in training classes the last two days at work and it's drained me, so I haven't been around much at all.
Which actually you think would cause less fighting...
I guess people vent in different ways. Oh well, cest la vie.. Jay, do you think Ontario M. saying he can only run right without pain was a play for Ole Miss, or did he just say it off the cuff? I'm still HABOTN.
Jay, I don't understand all the fighting either. I mean, it's a freakin blog. You remember what our last Athletic Director Housel said though. We are family and we tend to fight on the front porch instead of the back, so everyone sees it and knows it.
Stay thirsty my friends.
Is winning a possibility this week?
Oh boy. Coach Lou's plan for winning is coming on at halftime. Wonder if he has a separate plan for when he was in the SEC.
Phred, winning is ALWAYS a possibility. The question is if it is LIKELY.
Memphis about to take a beat down from East Carolina. Will Memphis ever have a decent football program, or continue to be football hell for coaches.
We are family, I got my sisters and me
We are family......I forget the rest!
I'll be with my family in the stands on Sat come rain or shine or even cold.
BEAT OLE MISS!!
There was a story in ESPN the magazine about Trahan. Trying to summarize a long article- Trahan had some sort of learning disability. He was failing several classes, he and his family met with Auburn officials(including coaches), and there were disagreements about exactly who was responsible for the grades issue. He then left AU and went JUCO before ending up at Ole Miss.
I assume it is OK to discuss since there was an article in a national magazine with quotes from the Trahan family.
I'm saying it ...
Auburn wins Saturday.
Ole Miss must have cured that disability.
I had a learning disability when I was at AU as well. It was called Bourbon. I also called my good friend Earl quite often.
i agree jet- we are bound to shake out of this funk. Don't know why but I got a good feeling about Sat. Maybe 34-21 ish...
Jet,
How about providing a blueprint for how AU pulls it off Saturday. Does Todd find the early season form, or do you think Caudle will be the guy?
I'm done fighting. I'm here and accounted for. Sorry for any people i've upset with my comments. I took something personal, which I realize is the #1 rule of posting on the internet that you are not supposed to do.
Right. And we're all HOTTIES, so be happy.
I show up with a smile on my face, honestly :)!!!!
If we score 34 against the rebels, we will definitely win. I can't see it at this point. I could have three weeks ago, but not right now. Our best hope, turnovers by the rebels and a choke job by nutt.
Jet I would love to say Auburn wins Saturday..... Only problem is I sai Auburn Would when three SAturdays ago then two Saturdays ago then last Saturday... A heart can only be ripped out so many times.. I started to believe mabay I was just to naive. Mabey the people on the outside know more than I think I know. All I do know is I will be in the stands again this week. I will cheer as loud and as proud as I can and come hell or high water I will still say War Eagle come Saturday late afternoon!!
Sorry I missed your show Eddie will try to make it next week.
Hey Hotteez...........
Just wanted to say no matter what, I love me some Auburn Tigers!
I even picked Au on the spread last week. Not at first but then my daughter who broke her wrist yesterday and turned 11 today said " Dad thats just plain rude not to pick Auburn!" I changed my pick..
Two words: Houston Nutt
Two more: Jevan Snead
Both are capable of crashing and burning.
Gotta believe Gus wants to win this one badly.
I have added quotes.
Jet, it could the the McCluFu you talked about. Maybe we can twist his ankle a bit to slow him down.
I picked us to win in Fayetteville, but should have known better. I expected to win against Kentucky, but picked a 31-7 loss last weekend.
I go back to fundamentals ... what I said at the beginning of the season -- that we'd be all over the board this year. It's time to be back on the other side.
Jet only bad thing about Nutt crashing is he normally will just walk away and leave us for dead in the middle of the road.
Digger- Since Sensi is no longer on the show, I bumped it up a hour. It's just E-Bro and myself doing the show. We are looking at maybe doing it on Sunday, what do you think about that?
Also, Thanks to WTC for calling in. He had an oustanding call as do every hottie that calls the show!
It could happen if we just quit making stupid mistakes and get that offense going again.
I hope we do get the passing game going.. When Au is on we can play anyone. Even Bama When we are off we just plain suck nothing can go right
Eddie,
Sunday would work for me just remind me on here and if I am home I will listen and maybe even join in.
Jay, McFadden put the question about Trahan to rest, didn't he.
Storm- I agree completely. We need the passing game badly, especially the deep ball.
Digger- Will do.
Guys, Gals. What Malzahn needs to do Saturday is start Todd off with a bunch of easy short passes. Get his confidence up. Of the 5 yard ilk. A controlled drive of 3-4 yards running, 4-7 yards passing per down. Forget the big plays until we get a rythm.
Sponge,
That Ole Miss D-line is tough. I'm wondering how much time Todd is going to have to throw.
Bill Cameron said on Sportscall that the AU receivers could get little/no separation at LSU Saturday. Ole Miss doesn't have those kind of CB's, but there seem to be several issues on of.fense
I think the fans will be quite.... We need to get loud but I do not see that happening. Mabey they should play WERE NOT GOING TO TAKE IT then have a fly over. Every since thay stopped doing the fly overs we have lost our pep.. I miss the fly overs
This comment has been removed by the author.
I believe that Ole Miss and Bama have the best D-lines in the SEC. We cannot afford to have 5 guys in Chris Todd's lap all night. We need to try and use their aggresiveness against them. I would love to see a middle screen to Eric Smith.
AU, if our receivers can't separate from LSU's backs, I hate to think about the Bama game. You are right on bout Rebels line. Thats why we need a quick controled passing game early on.
Guys should never be in Todds lap...not that there's anything wrong with that.
Storm- I too miss the flyovers. I always look up after each national anthem looking for it. It's been awhile since they've done it.
I hope Trahan left keeps his back rent in his back pocket so we can pick it.
Sponge,
I think UGA is the game that Auburn has the best chance of winning out of the remaining games(minus Furman). It hurts me to say, but I don't know if Auburn has 3 players that could start for The Evil empire.
UGA is a possibility. We have good luck in Athens.
Tristan Davis' FB status: Why is everybody always stepping on my toes?
:-)
I'm ready to throw down. You might see me getting a flag Saturday for an unauthorized player on the field. I'll be the guy wearing a t-shirt going berzerk on some kick return dudes.
How good could Tristan have been if he could have stayed healthy. Do you think he was worth 1-2 more wins a year in the Tubby era?
ehyou- Which ones will you be going after, Ole Miss or Auburn players :)!!!
Sponge- pretty good, especially considering he made an NFL roster. I never understood why Tubs moved him to defense when he looked so darn good on offense.
eddie...
Auburn will be the ones kicking off all night ;).
*afternoon, I should say.
Man, with him, Carnell, Ronnie Brown, and that other big huge TB that is playing in the NFL now, that left AU due to playing time, we had some TBs fo sho. Wish we could have spread these guys over a longer period of time.
Morning too ehyou.
Beat Ole Miss!!
Eddie-Enjoyed the show. Thanks for allowing me to share some thoughts.
wtc. What other JC players are we recruiting. We have one DE Bonomolo. With early graduates that can count on next year and JC players, we should be able to get 6 in this year counting on 09's class.
I think AU can move the ball if we leave Todd in and not runthe wildcat the first series or two. That thing just breaks the momentum.
I watched the playback of UT-AL (just the last quarter) and the WRs wold take 2 steps forward and then slant across the middle. they were open EVERY time. The kid that scored had noone around him. That is a TOUGH play to defend. quit running a deep route up the sideline and jsut run slants and get the CBs committed to that and then try going deep.
My dad's an MSU alum. Beating Ole Miss holds a special place in my heart.
Sponge-We have 2 high schoolers coming in early. Craig Sanders is one. I can't recall the other. AU is also looking at resigning Ken Adams (DE) that went JUCO after Tubbs signed him. Depends on if the kid from Miami wants to come.
Sponge-I think one of the RB's we want is on schedule (Dyer or Seastrunk) to graduate early also and will come in early. My recollection is AU has 5 that are coming in early.
I wonder if Cullen out of California is still an option
Where did all these big kids come from. A lineman (OT) from Arkansas that Au is after is 6'7" 295. He is in the 11th grade.
It was all i could do to get the 220 before I headed off the play at the next level. That was back in the early 80's.
Yes he is. He wants to visit for the Iron Bowl but may be playing inthe JUCO championship game that weekend. He has Au high on his list. He visited Utah and liked it but says his teammate (you mentioned earlier) has talked so much about AU that he wants to come to see what it is all about. Says he would like to play on the same team with his roommate at the next level.
There is a big kid that is committed to UVA, but is looking at AU. I think his name is Moses Massey. I want to say he is 6'8" 360lbs. Offensive lineman.
The OL recruit is Moses Morgan.
6'7" 347 4star.
Jessel Curry is trying to enroll early as well
Well. I'll get it right eventually .
Morgan Moses.
Yes he is. thanks jhag. i could not think of his name.
I see where Cullen visited UT and said he was tempted to commit to them. I looked on a Juco recruiting website. Not too many considerin AU. A lot going to Ole miss and Miss State. Several going to UA as well. Those were original UA signee's except for maybe one.
Yep..wtc...
UT screened and slanted us to death.
What site do you go to?
FSJ-I was surprised to see that. On the TD play, the UT guy just drove hard for two steps and slanted in. No one follwed. May have been a zone coverage, but he was not even close to being covered.
AU is trying to take just a couple of Juco's. The Moses kid is prep school. Not sure Cullen got a commitable offer (is their such a phrase).
If Au takes Bonomolo and Adams, that may be all they want. As i said,Adams is dependent onwhether we get beasley from Clemson or the kid from Florida.
SPonge-I think we get at least either Whitaker or Thornton out of GA on the DL side. Good shot at both.
Not just sunshine pumpin'.
It would be interesting if this thing kept track of individual post count
wtc- it is great to see Auburn getting players from Georgia again. Auburn has been mostly an afterthought in GA recently, too many good players there for AU not to get a few of them.
As in how many times a certain person posts or just the number of each post?
post count would be interesting.
I think the coaches are working it very hard. Time will tell though. I think the coaches have built some excitment and the kids will come.
Didn't michael or THT say you needed night vision goggles to see the number count?
Video being uploaded.
Should be ready for HOTTIE perusal around 10 p.m. CDT.
Teaser: Video includes The Bull and Alli Smalley.
A post count on how many times each person as posted in their HABOTN career
The party is back on!! You can't see me, but I am doing a happy dance. We are closing on the condo tomorrow!! HD TV gets hooked up on Thursday.
We are having breakfast before the game and we'll eat again after the game. We are in The Brown Crest, directly across from Lowder. Y'all come, you hear? :)
I wish it would track post count.
That was one of the things I really wanted during my Summer Redesign. A newspaper official ended that project before it started, promised to make significant improvements to this site, didn't.
jhag-you thinkin' I post too much?
:)
jhag: You haven't been featured on Texts From Last Night, have you?
Cincy-what if the roaming HABOTN gang dropped in? Would that be OK. I will make they all bathe first.
Jay, you would think they could accommodate the requests of the owner of the most popular online site the advertiser has. Do we need to petition management?
Hahaha, I actually might have, anonymously...I send some weird things in the wee hours of the AM
Come one, come all. I am so excited I can hardly stand it! We probably won't have any furniture by Saturday, but we have our Auburn chairs.
No bath required :)
WTC...Not at all man, it would increase traffic IMO
Congrats Cincy. Great location. Wonder if the place is haunted with old Roosters staffers.
Petitioning is futile.
I do what I can. This is our home.
Cicny-Can we bring anything? Just to help out.
If would rather email, let me know and I willpost my email address.
Online petitions usually work though, Jay.
cincy - you should also get a moonbounce and a giraffe.
OT-are you guys that are on Fb getting a lot of 'confirm your email address' messages? I have gotten the same one 4-5 times tonight.
I hope you didn't confirm WTC.
Is there really anything better than sitting on the couch in your underwear HABOTNing?
michael,
Might not we able to accomplish that this first week. Maybe for homecoming? But, it will be warm, dry and have 3 potties. Isn't that as good as a giraffe?
Video is UPZ.
Neat note about Hot and Walt being friends.
My roomate's dad and my dad worked together at the phone company for years. We didn't even like each other growing up, chasing the same girl I guess, although neither of us caught her :)
Now we are the best of friends, brothers even. Don't know why I mentioned that, but that note on Hot and Walt made me think of that.
Stuff like that is really cool. Thanks for bringing us inside stuff like that Jay.
Addition to my post, we graduated AU years ago. I grew up a bammer fan, but my roomate showed me the light and converted me to hardcore AU.
Maybe that is one reason why I think so highly of friend.
