That car also needs a paint job. The paint on top has baded very badly.

So Maaco says it can do a "basic" job for $300. Don't you think that would be mucho sloppy?

12:48 PM

I hope the last two games were just a short slump, but it's hard to deny it looks like something is different when he throws the ball. It just looks more like film from early last year right now.

Scottie ...

I'd like to think it is ... but I don't know. I'd like to think that if he doesn't get it done in Baton Rouge ... when we're getting clubbed in the second half ... which is what I think will happen ... that they give the keys to Caudle to let him drive home.

I don't get the notion that Tennessee will give Alabama a game.

That's Alabama biggest, most hated rival. And they have a way better defense than anything Tennessee can throw at them.

So what if Alabama's offense isn't that great? They don't have to be.

Alabama 31 UT 6

1:32 PM
Anonymous Anonymous said...

Is UT's starting center really 6'1 260 lbs? Giving up 100 lbs and 4-5 inches to Terrance Cody is a bad match-up in my opinion.

1:35 PM
Blogger michael said...

Centers are often that size Sensi. He will never take on Cody alone the entire game.

I think I will pick Alabama winning 21-3. Tennessee's D is good, but how will they score on bama?

A friend of mine and I bought some of the Cafe du Monde beignet mix back from NOLA when we were at AU. We tried to make them for some girls we wanted to impress. We made the biggest mess ever. Dough and powdered sugar were all over the place. I think the girls were impressed by the effort, but the beignets left a lot to be desired. That said, Scottie B., I think you can buy the mix and the coffee in most nice grocery stores these days, if you want to try your hand at creating the Cafe du Monde experience at home.

Hoopie,

I'm thinking first play of the game will be that swinging gate play that we got penalized for last game, but this time it's to Fannin who throws to T-Zach down the sidelines.

yup, i'm doing it. i've talked myself into figuring it out. :) i usually make gumbo or something for LSU week but i've got to work & go to a wedding tomorrow before the game and won't have time.

Your opinion will be weighted heavier than your Bammer brethren as you hang here without being a douche.

Sensi ... I'm on it. From I understand there are 16 scenarios for the playoffs ... 15 of them get us in. Win and we get a first round home game.

To win the region, we need to win, plus UAT has to agree to play in pink jerseys on Saturday and RK has to be nice for a week.

Lose and we get one way ticket to Buzzsawville.

2:49 PM
Anonymous Anonymous said...

RK...nice call on the first play. Set us up some more first down pass plays and email them to Gus.

I think we have to pass on first down in this game. We cannot take on the LSU run D all game with a run first strategy.

2:51 PM
Blogger Jet said...

Can't pass? Can't win.

Ziemba will have his hands full with Alem.

2:53 PM
Blogger FSJ said...

Sensi..

In all honesty I'll answer it this way.

If you ask older Bama grads they'll say Tennessee.
If you as younger Bama grads they'll say Auburn.

Non Alums will probably say Auburn.

I split the difference and say 50/50 for me. I'm a grad but not a recent one.

I do hate Phil Fulmer more than I hate any Auburn coach.

2:56 PM
Anonymous Anonymous said...

Jet....Re: your everyone's a douche theory.

Anyone that talks long enough can reveal their inner douche.

Hmmm....that sounds kinda gross....won't get me banhammered will it?

2:57 PM
Blogger FSJ said...

RK..

I think the NCAA and UT are equally corrupt.

The NCAA because they let people like Ohio State & USC skate.

UT because they made a deal with Roy Kramer.

They had the goods on them in the Tee Martin case and not a thing came of it.

2:58 PM
Blogger ballin said...

I call BS on any team other than Auburn being Bammer's biggest rival.

2:59 PM
Blogger michael said...

Grads make up only about 20% of the Alabama fanbase.

I don't know what it is like elsewhere, but in Huntsville, young and old Bama fans care much more about the Iron Bowl than the Third Saturday in October. As far as "who they hate more"? I don't know, but there are plenty of people still sore about Philip Fulmer turning bama in for cheating.

2:59 PM
Blogger FSJ said...

ballin,

You ask somebody over 60 that is a Bama grad and I guarantee you they will say Tennessee.

Like I said anybody that grew up after Bryant will say Auburn.

Bama hate for AU resembles a bunch of trailer park dwellers that are pissed off "'cause NASCAR modified #3's air dam and he ain't won in 3 weeks".

3:12 PM

Hoopie,

Although it seems rare we agree, I agree the passing game this weekend is huge. For us to beat LSU we have to have the passing game that we had in games 1-4.5 to go with our running game.

3:16 PM
Blogger WarEagleRK said...

Choco is correct. The UT is our biggest rival stuff from Bama fans came very very recently.

3:16 PM
Blogger FSJ said...

Let me say this....

I'd rather beat Auburn...

But there is a reason that cigars will be passed out in the locker room Saturday night should we win. And this is not something that has started recently.

3:18 PM
Anonymous Anonymous said...

I've always hated the fact that Bama counts the trailer park dwellers as fans.

I really started hating the entirety of Bama when the university started counting the bogus 12 MNCs. That desperate attempt by the university to regain support from a bunch of ignorant folks worked...and then confirmed my belief that:

"Bammer Arrogance is the antidote to Bammer Ignorance."

3:19 PM
Blogger FSJ said...

Yes...because Auburn has no fans that live in trailer parks.

And last time I checked Auburn claimed national championships in their media guide for years after 1957.

They hand out cigars because the head trainer handed some out after Bama beat UT one time in the 1950's and the tradition stuck. The trainer was Jim Goostree, who went to UT. Had he gone to AU, I'll bet he would have handed them out after Bama beat AU.

What's up Hotties? Have you missed me? I've been out of pocket for the last few days and have read absolutely zero about AU or anything else for that matter. Your friend Norm is having eye and vision issues. I have a detached retina in my left eye and have zero vision there. My right is really only useful to me for watching tv (so now I have a built-in excuse for that activity). Reading, typing etc. are pretty difficult for me the past few days. Anyway, I'll be forced to be away from HABOTN for a bit. I'll be having surgery Monday morning to hopefully repair this thing and am on some VERY strict restrictions on what I can't do for a few weeks after. Basically, if it involves moving the eye muscles (as you're likely to do when reading), it's a no-no.

So, I'll be back amongst you as soon as possible but I'm not sure when that may be. While I'm gone I ask that you play nicely with each other and as always KEEP HATE ALIVE! I'll also as Chiz to go out there and win one for "the Norm".

Right Hoopie, I would say by and large the bama fan base is much worse. It is the default program for someone who hasn't attended a university in Alabama - and not to be snobbish, but some of the uneducated peops in Alabama are not the smartest most well-adjusted human beings.

But at UT, there were two people in my section screaming incorrectly about bad calls (by refs and coaches) on a consistant basis, and one of those guys was talking trash to unsuspecting Tennessee fans sitting in front of him. A friend of mine in another section said he was sitting close to an Auburn fan who would bend over and scream not very nice things in the ear of an elderly UT fan. So yeah, the al.com people do make it to games.

Just messin' with ya, FSJ. I probably would have smoked a cigar in '82 had I been a little older than 15.

Nice find of the cigar pic, scottie.

What's funny is that the big complaint from the Corndog Contingent was that we 'disrespected LSU fans' when our players came back out with cigars postgame.

From the looks of it, there weren't any LSU fans around to see it. In fact, the stands were almost empty midway through the 4th quarter.

Norm,
Praying for no complications from your eye surgery and complete sight restored. Take it easy and let people wait on you for a few days.

Blogger Fearless Freep said...

Ditto that, Norm. Glad you are getting that taken care of promptly, and hope that all goes well!

And be sure to tell your surgeon WAR EAGLE for good measure!

what happened with harry adams,,,why did he get kicke doff the team

4:31 PM
Blogger Fearless Freep said...

He was caught stealing state secrets.

He's lucky he was only kicked off the team. In a simpler time, he would have been taken out to the intramural fields and shot.

4:38 PM
Blogger Harrison said...

That's why those fields are so lumpy Freep, all those dead bodies

Scott..

Have no idea what the cigar tasted like...I was well lit long before the game ended.

Exactly Freep..

If things start going badly...LSU fans bail out quickly.

LSU's fan support is like Lake Pontchatrain: 40 miles wide, 25 miles long, and 6 inches deep.

I suppose you could say the same about their fanbase's gene pool.

Well, as usual, it is LSU week and I can almost smell the corndogs.

What are we drinking? A nice Pinot Grigio?

7:24 PM

How about a Kona Brewing Co. Pipeline Porter? I'll buy us a round.

Hey, Shesaid, if you're still there, I just discovered we are Tigers of the same stripe!! GO BCHS!!!

Freep,
That sounds suspiciously like beer, I don't like beer. I'll buy if we're drinking wine.

Norm, prayers sent for a very successful surgery.

Got to get my bags packed for Baton Rouge. Heading down at 4:00 a.m.

Kathy,
Have an awesome time. I so hope you get to celebrate a win. Be safe.

I'll have a Maker's and Diet Coke.

7:37 PM
Blogger Fearless Freep said...

It is beer, cincy, my current favorite. Brewed with genuine Kona coffee, uniting my two favorite beverages.

Nectar of the gods it is.

But I'll take a nice Syraah or Merlot if your pouring. . .

7:37 PM

I'll have the makers...skip the coke.

Kathy, the last time I went to Baton Rouge a kicker that shall remain nameless in my own head missed 5 field goals. Maybe you're the charm that works this year.

Regret to say I have never attended a game in Baton Rouge and we have won some and lost some. So without me there we will either win it or lose it.

After reading all the doom and gloom here:

"Why don't you knock it off with them negative waves? Why don't you dig how beautiful it is out here? Why don't you say something righteous and hopeful for a change?"

"Always with the negative waves Moriarty, always with the negative waves."

This is my first trip to Baton Rouge. I'm going down with 3 other women. We'll definitely be cheering for the Auburn Tigers and hope to see the tigers from the TN game.

It's not everyone, but the mood here has been very negative.

I prefer to think that Todd will get his head together or Caudle will thrive. Either of those things happens ad we have a good chance.

7:58 PM
Blogger digger4au said...

If the offense gets untracked and plays well we can beat LSU and anyone on our schedule.

8:00 PM
Blogger Unknown said...

We will dominate LSU, primarily due to our onside punting game.

8:04 PM
Blogger Fearless Freep said...

I think most of the negativity is hangover from '08.

It's that whole 'here we go again' feeling. Is Todd hurt, but no one is willing to admit it? If Burns isn't the answer, will the coaches finally give Caudle a chance? What about Barrett Trotter? Why is the defense getting worse?

Been there, done that, all too recently. I'm still holding out hope that Chiz & Co. won't make the same choices that their predecessors did.

Or at least if they do, the outcome is better.
