Substanti-hate on a new page!
Or Deshea Townsend.
Scott... Bourbon and Chocolate...It's not just for breakfast any more.
Your thoughts?
I'm not sure why this last game has hit me harder than the other losses. Oh now I remember, I live in Georgia.
I'll contemplate that while drinking a beer and eating a chocolate-drizzled potato chip.
Bourbon= good for breakfast..
Chocolate...not so much.
Bring some of those potato chips when you come down Scottie. I'm intrigued.
Cocoa Pebbles = Breakfast of Champions.
I wonder what would happen if you dipped a PBR in Chocolate? I'm going to go ahead and speculate nothing good, but hey, who knows?
Quadruple Post Land, here I come. Esther... I'm coming for you!
FSJ, John Belushi would have endorsed that combination. I'd bet money that he had bourbon and little chocolate doughnuts at some point!
Damn... this feels good. What else can we cover in chocolate?
Beef Jerky?
An entire peanut butter and marshmallow creme sandwich?
OOOOh.... Lard?
Chocolate covered Lard?
Hell Yeah!
j-z, I say dip the chocolate-dipped chip into the PBR...sweet, salty, beery goodness.
A Hamburger King Cheeseburger?
No.. you don't mess with perfection. Sorry about that, I got carried away.
How about a cold Snickers bar from the King dipped in chocolate just for kicks and giggles?
As I mentioned before on the HABOTN, chocolate-covered bacon is becoming very popular. I haven't tried it yet, but I need to make it happen.
Damn... That's why you're the chocolate guy Scottie. Genius, pure freaking genius.
How about a chocolate dipped fried pie? Pick your flavor.
This is not exactly chocolate, but has anyone heard about the fried Coca-Cola. I saw it on a Travel Channel show when they were at the TX state fair. I really want to try it!
I had chocolate bacon. Got it a Whole Foods. It was surprisingly good.
I like the candied bacon deal made with brown sugar... Chocolate should work just fine with that.
Missing - one question mark.
Ooh... Cincy's daughter's Peanut Butter Cookies dipped in chocolate.
Swoon!
Cincy, I can't believe you beat me to that. I'm inspired! I'm going to make some fresh here at the shop.
Meat candy. Nice.
How the heck do you fry Coca cola?
I have to run, but I'll be back later for the answer.
That was one of my nicknames in college MyTommyD... Meatcandy.
Here you go...
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fried_Coke
meatcandy?
LMFAO.
I think that may be the first grin I've had since around 7:45 Saturday night
All the chocolate stuff reminds me of my wedding with three count em Three chocolate fountains. One each for white, dark, and milk chocolate. And yes we had some triple dippers.
j-z, I don't even wanna know.
...although I believe I heard that was also Saban's nickname back when he used to go to ballet camp.
Meatcandy. Yeah buddy.
J-Z ...
If you suggest messing with the King again, I'll dial up some fire and brimstone on your @$$.
We shall not hate, we shall embrace...beat BAMA!!!!
hola
I'm still getting killed at work, and it's got to be UA-T's fault.
I hate UA-T!!! 24/7/365 and a quarter
Keeping in the spirit the 2 story outhouse avatar I sported in honor of all the No Ga hillbillies I work around, the Redneck Condo avatar shall suffice for tthe pre-beat Bama week.
Next thing you know Eddie will be singing: "All We Are Saying .... Is .. Give Peace a Chance".
Hotties.... this is serious, we're about to lose one of our brothers.
I mean, I don't want Eddie to go back to doing the whole FU thingy, but offering peace signs to Bama?
My evening has been made by reading the word....
Meatcandy
Premise:
Friend bought season ticket package in the middle of season. Since purchasing season ticket package, she has only made it to one home game, Kentucky, which we lost. SInce a lost was predicted, she sold her tickets to the Ole Miss and WVA game. She is selling her Auburn/Alabama tickets.
Conclusion:
Auburn beats Alabama.
After the day I endured today at work, it is hard not to hate!
After watching Auburn Everyday, I realize what a mess the previous coaching staff made with this team. This coaching staff has really unified everyone and has been great for the healing process. I am very optimistic for the future of Auburn football, and the joke Zac played on Chizik, Luper, et al was funny. Surely it is on YouTube!
Kathy, I haven't heard any direct results, but AU Everyday has got to be a great recruiting tool. I get chill bumps watching each week.
Me too Hoopie. I think it has been great for the fans!
How's the hatin' coming along?
I'm hoping it will be released on DVD once the series is over.
Hating is coming along fine zookeeper.
10:29 left in 2nd half, AU 43- Mzzou St 51
TommyD,
Here's an only in Prattville, AL moment for you. Your story about the three chocolate fountains reminded me of it. The brother of one of my best friends was getting married 6 or 7 years ago. The family was from... let's just say it's a suburb of Prattville. The reception was held at an old antebellum home on the edge of town that evening. They did the big white tent out back and the whole place was lit by candles.
The food was served in the front rooms of the house. The first tip off should have been that the groom's cake was in the shape of an 8 point buck.
When I moved into the next room, I see what appears to be three chocolate fountains spread out around the room. I went to the first one and dipped some cookies and fruit into the chocolate. I moved around the room and noticed that there were chicken fingers on the table with the other 2 fountains. WTH? But I'll try anything once, so I moseyed on over to check it out.
You can imagine my dismay when I got close enough to the fountains to discover that they were barbecue sauce and ranch dressing fountains. If that Klassy with a capital K, I don't know what is.

I wonder if deep fried Diet Coke would be the same?
22 turnovers by AU with 8 minutes left.
Deep fried Diet Coke?
Isn't that like going to McDonalds, ordering the Big Mac, fries, apple pie and getting a Diet Coke to drink?
54-65 MIzzou St 4:15 left
wtc..
Looks to be a great year for both Auburn and Alabama in basketball...
58-68 3:05 left.
Reed leads Au with 7 turnovers with 2:00 left. Team has 25 TO now.
That's our biggest problem too..
We turn the ball over a ton and aren't very big.
AU getting hammered on rebounds
58-70 .58 left
this game is very ugly form an AU point of view. We steal then turn it over. They got a bunch of offensive rebounds.
60-70 .50 left
Lucas fouls out with 24 points. 25 seconds left
I think someone has a future in live blogging if the day job doesn't pan out.
Everytime they show the Monday Night crew in the booth, I fully expect Chucky to shake Jaws' hand and say, "Jon Gruden, rush chairman. Damn glad to meet you.".
Jet,
I heard that ESPN and Gruden have agreed on a multi-year deal for MNF...
That surprises me. I figured he'd be back on the field next year.
AU free throws 12-22
AU 3pt attempts 5 for 24
AU 62 mizzou St 73
And... AU basketball kills the thread.
High scoring MNF game
0-0 3rd quarter...nice
If meatcandy didn't kill it nothing will.
ha nice look what I did...7-0 now
How was the trip jhag? Made a decision yet?
How were the Oxford women jhag?
Did you guys plan that?
I most certainly did.. I want to know what jhag thought about the hotties in Mississippi.
jhag is apparently lost for words. Not sure if that means they were good or bad.
Kathy,
Ole Miss gals have been known to cause men to be at a loss for words.
Im back, the trip was good...The Grove blew my mind. It was mayhem for hours upon hours after the game..and the square is really cool, tons of bars and really nice shops.
I saw Eli Manning and his brother Cooper downtown that was pretty cool.
I went to a Pike gathering with my big brother Friday night which was really fun...
The girls were very attractive, they dress a lot more modest and conservative then the females in Tallahassee, not sure if thats a pro or a con yet.
No decision made, if anything I am more confused and indecisive now.
jhag..
Trust me...Ole Miss..
The girls are worth it.
I should do a coin flip
But they have a Nutt for a coach!
FSJ-I found this article abot iphones and Verizon
http://www.appleinsider.com/articles/09/11/06/report_apple_to_launch_verizon_iphone_in_q3_2010.html
Do I wait?
wtc...I'd wait..I heard the AT&T exclusive runs out in mid 2010..
Auburn Basketball- Seasons change, but some things remain the same....lots of turnovers and getting out rebounded, the hallmark of a Lebo coached team. Time for a change. New Arena, new coach!
j-z, that there must have been some kinda shore nuff weddin' you went to there. 8 point buck cake. Kinda like a bundt cake but different. And there is nothing classier than a barbecue sauce and ranch dressing fountain, although if there is I'm sure we'll find out about it here.
Peace to all today!!!!!!!!!! Beat Bama. Love, not Hate thy neighbor!!!! But is ok to beat them and enjoy it :)!!!!!!!!!
I haven't seen the stats, but let me guess, turnovers, missed free throws and a ton of 3's being jacked up...
For Bama week eve, the HABOTN sure is slow. Where's the optimism people? Until the final whistle is blown, I believe! I believe Auburn is due one complete game without mistakes and turnovers. Where they E-X-E-C-U-T-E flawlessly. This is our seniors' last hoorah! Believe Hotties!!!
War Eagle!!!
Kathy- Unfortunately there is very little hope heading into this game. This is the first time in my lifetime that I can remember us having almost very little chance in winning the game. It's disappointing, but hopefully things will change in the near future.
Good morning, Hotties. Unfortunately, I have to agree with Eddie. But, I am very optimistic about the future. I definitely think Auburn will win two more games next year and (crossing my fingers) possibly more the year after.
Kathy, sorry that we, again, didn't get to meet. I did see you at Tiger Walk. I don't like being in crowds for an extended period, so I was up on the train tracks.
In 2002 I thought we had no hope in this game. We all know how that turned out. So anything can happen.
However last year I thought we had no hope either...and we all know how that turned out as well.
What really gets me is I was nervous going into the UGA game. I thought that, as usual, they would have one of their best games because they were playing Auburn. Then Auburn came out guns a'blazin' in the first quarter and I got all excited. Then, after the first quarter, what I thought originally turned out to be correct.
RK- I had about 10x more hope in 2002 than this years game. Most times.
Ok, I've gone back and looked at the history of the Iron Bowl. There has only been 2 times that an Auburn team has knocked off an undefeated Bama. 1972 & 1989. Let's see, the "Amazin's" who had only lost once to LSU that season and 89 SEC Co-Champion Auburn Tigers who lost twice that season. Sorry, this team just doesn't have that makeup to make the upset happen. I will show up and pull for our beloved Tigers, but I refuse to get bent out of shape when we lose, because that is what is 99.99% sure is going to happen.
Eddie, I agree. I wasn't so upset about the loss the UGA. Auburn was still better this season than anyone had thought prior to.
Eddie - o ye of little faith. It's only 99% sure. You need to up your confidence level by 1000%
Luv- Absolutely agree. This year has done wonders in my opinion in establishing a solid base from which to build on while being able to sell recruits on the benefit of playing at Auburn. This staff is having growing pains, as ever staff, but I am highly impressed. Offense is ten thousand times better than last season and this is with mainly the same players that finished almost last in the nation in offense last season. Defense needs players and will get them and be improved. This team is on the up tick. I have no doubt about that. It is truly a great time to be an Auburn Tiger, but I really can't think of many times that aren't. I still bleed blue and orange to the core and I hope we show up and play hard in the Iron Bowl!
Sorry, THT, confidence level is staying put at about .0000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000001% that we win this game.
I'm in the no-hope crowd for this game. AU struggles to stop the rush, Bama loves to run teams out of the stadium.
UAT is much stronger on the OL and DL. Bama's 2nd string defense is probably stronger than AU's starting 11 at this point in the season.
If the O-Line struggles in pass-blocking, this game could be very ugly. I don't take it as a good sign when the Bama fans here are trying to convince the Auburn fans it will be a tough game.
you are right, Eddie. This team's defense isn't remotely comparable to the '72 and '89 defenses. I think our 1% hinges on the possibility of the Tide's two-deep chart waking up that morning with swine flu and bubonic plague.
THT- I can agree with you there. With that said, it will still be fun to root on the Tigers, even if I have to evacuate my section due to them trying to take it over since it is right next to their section. That is the only thing I truly dread about the game.
I thought we'd win 7 or 8 before the season started, so I should be happy with that, but the way we lost the UGA, Ark & KY games that makes it more difficult to deal with.
I do think we are heading in the right direction, but I agree this isn't 1989, that defense isn't walking through the door.
Also it's not 1972 or 1989 in that it's not the end of an era. I think it's more like 1981 or 1999 where it's the start of something better.
Percentage chances of winning an "Iron Bowl" in the next five years.
Discuss.
no doubt it will take some luck for AU to win the iron bowl. maybe we can go get the auburn high d to show up for us and we'll have a chance. i bet they have more than three linebackers to put on the field.
How Auburn can beat UAT, a miracle has to happen such as divine intervention. Miralces have happened before, maybe this could be the year God decides that it is our turn. Love me some Auburn Tigers, hat me some UAT t()rds. WAR EAGLE!!!
rk is right. the beginning of another era of dominance over the tahd. $aban and the REC will crash that thing into a mountain just like they always do. just a matter of which recruit gets sloppy with the money first.
i was there in 2002. AU had no chance. AU 17 bammer 7.
We played defense in 2002.
We don't really do that in 2009.
We ran the ball and pounded people in 2002.
We run smoke and mirrors and get lucky in 2009.
Bama was overhyped in 2002, we were underhyped.
Bama is all they are cracked up to be in 2009, we are cracked.
The end.
It can be a close game, not one that Auburn will win IMO, but it can be close.
Sensi,
I think that our chances to win an Iron Bowl in the next five years, not including this year, are excellent. However, some things have to happen. We must start to getting the better in state recruits and I think that we will. We must continue to go after the blue chip players no matter who else is after them. We must have continuity on our coaching staff, that is , if one of our current coaches leave, we must replace him with a coach that is his equal or better. I think that most of this has already started to happen and if we continue the trend, the Iron Bowl may again take on more significance than the SEC Championship game.
Sensi - 100% of winning multiple IBs in the next 5 years.
it just took a true freshman white boy rb to have the game of his career to win in 2002. i remember bammer's o being as inept as AU 2008 at times.
AU can win this year, but it will take an unlikely performance such as this to pull it off.
i'll say it again, $aban is a fool if he attempts one forward pass unless down by 14.
not even deep on NT?
Besides the team playing better, things are better overall for them. My friend has talked to two players' parents - Walt McFadden's dad just happened to park where we tailgate one week and at TW this past weekend she talked to #79's mom (I know this because Dad had on a hat that had #79 on it). Both of them said something to the effect of, "You have no idea how bad things were for the team last year..."
Eduardo ...
Saith the great Winston Churchill: "An appeaser is one who feeds a crocodile, hoping it will eat him last."
I shall never, never, never, never give up my hate of UAT.

Eddie, I'm not all that superstitious or anything....but isn't that the same avatar everyone used last year? Didn't work out so well for us...
Second round of Iowa email, this time from the people who just now realized that my Sunday AP ballot didn't include Iowa:
IOWA FAN: "Jay
Your recent AP football rankings are a complete joke. It's people like you (who cannot get beyond your precious SEC) that have greatly lessened my love of college football. If you can't be knowledgable enough to learn about all the teams and who they have actually beaten (that's what is important?) then you should not have a vote. My 2 cents, take it for what it's worth.
Dan"
MY RESPONSE: ``It's people like you who have lessened my love for email, so we're even."
Almost all of them ragged me for voting Alabama No. 1, which I have been doing for at least a month.
OK. I know you guys are full of Alabama hate and all, which is what college football is all about, but it's not crazy to think Alabama is the best team.
Not crazy ... or so I say.
nice response JG.
it doesn't matter to me how good or bad Bama may be. HATE still dwells in my soul.
Nice write up by PMarshall today on hie free site at AU Undercover. He discusses the troubles of the defense. He doesn't miss much.
UA is a very good team. They have depth and talent everywhere. If they do not win out (and I hope they do not)it will be a good off season. It will not bother me if they do, but it will feel better if they don't.
JG ...I would place Bama at #1 also.
That fact just fuels my hate even more.
May the Hate be with you.
kristina...
That is the same avatar...
Eddie, feel free to continue using it.
Jay,
I agree with you for what it is worth.
wtc ..I agree, PM covers all of the defensive issues pretty well.
What a calamity of events.
Kristina- No difference than the Hate we spilled on here either. Trying the same things again expected different results is what?
You're crazy Eddie...change your avatar. :-P
I chastise Jay not for voting the Infidels No. 1.
I know, though, that His Judgment Is Coming And That Right Soon.
And the Infidels will be no more.
I reject superstitions. I believe in righteousness of cause.
What ifs get you know where, but it makes for interesting conversation.
Marks and Poweres would have contributed and at least two of the 3 kicked off would have seem significant playing time. I think that woul dhave made a big difference. Doesn't mean we win the IB but makes big difference in the outcome of others, IMO.
But you play with the hand you are dealt and you move on. I like that our staff has not used any of those things referenced above as an excuse. You just suck it up and go play and represent your school as best as you can. SOmetimes the other team is just better.
sometimes no matter how hard you try, how many different things you try, and with variable levels of passion you try things still suck for you. and that sucks. all you can do is do what is best for you and in my case HATE is the answer. good day.
Good day to you, sir!
OK...I should really be focusing on work. Later Hotties.
Work?...
What is that?
wtc ...Blackmon had another year also.
Ok, is this avatar better?
Much better Eddie.
Glad I can make one Hottie happy :)!
Agree Hoopie. Just a bad spot to be in this year, but it looks bright for the future.
Time to get busy for at least 2 hours before lunch.
FSJ-I got two on the 30 yard line. You can steal them for $800 a piece.
Lol wtc..
I'll take my chances with the scalpers on game day.
Thanks for thinking of me. :-)
Eddie - you really have lost your mind
JGT - UA-T at #1? Let me be the first Horned Frog fan to say...
It's people like you who have lessened my love for college football.
But you've increased my hate for UA-T which, according to all the known laws of the Universe, was impossible.
So, we're even.
I'll sell you my ticket for half that FSJ, only $400 and it's next door to all your family :)!
THT- If you can't poke at yourself and have fun in these times, when can you?
FSJ - I've got 4 extras, and you can't have them for all the money in the world.
But you're still a great Hottie.
Hating Bama will never effect the outcome of the IB.
Hating Bama serves to cleanes oneself of the deleterious effects borne from the inevitable encounters with Bammers. Once cleansed, the good that is Auburn can flow more freely.
These Bammer encounters are more severe for our Auburn Family residing in the State of Alabama than elsewhere (Bammers don't get out much). It is incumbent on us folks from outside the state to support our instate Auburn family and fuel as much cleansing hate as possible.
May the Hate be with You
Eddie - that avatar is so much better. There's poking fun, and then there's pure unadulterated AU blasphemy. Stick to fun.
Do we really have to wait until next week to beat bama? Sigh.
Michael, why, do we get them in a swim meet next week? :)
Folks ...it's time for an intervention. I know where Eddie's neighborhood is. There's about 400 homes in there, but if all of us Ga. Hotties ban together we can find him.
an intervention sounds painful, which reminds me of my dental appointment.
Why are my teeth falling apart? I have no doubt that it's UA-T's fault. So I hate UA-T!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
WARRRRRRR EAGLE!!!
GO TIGERS!!!
see y'all later.
I'm all for HABOTN Hottie interventions.
Intervention not needed. I still love my Tigers and hope they beat the stew out of Bama!
I know that y'all were watching the Auburn game Saturday, but Mark Barron made one of the best deflections of a pass in the end zone that I have ever seen...Here's a pic.
Deflection
FSJ- That's a pretty darn good play.
Did the State guy then catch it for a game changing TD? :)
Eddie...
Sadly for MSU the pass fell harmlessly to the ground.
I saw that play. Sure, it was a good play, but you could tell that bama player is an idiot. You could just tell, ya know?
If it was us, that ball would be tipped right to the opponent for a big play.
Oh wait, that did happen to us.
good thing we're not idiots Michael. Good thing
What's up with all the talk earlier about how we have no chance next Friday?
Who cares what chance we have? It's the Iron Bowl. I'm pumped.
Luv,
did you see me shooting tiger walk video up on the train tracks? Hope I didn't almost knock you over.
Anyone else hate the game being on T-Day weekend?
I like it the way it was. I hate having to wait the additional week.
Indeed, Harrison. Idiots are embarrassing. I have a zero tolerance policy when it comes to idiots. I mean, not literally. It's not like I actually wrote out a policy for my dealings with idiots. But you know, as a figure of speech, yeah, I have a zero tolerance policy. But maybe I should make an actual policy... it would make me a lot more consistent I'm sure.
Having lived through 0 - 9 where we had little to no chance of winning and we didn't. I must say that this small down turn is bad but not critical. We may not win on what used to be black Friday, before the infidels changed it, our star is shinning brightly. You young people can not imagine how desperate a feeling it was by the 7 8, and 9th year. Hold on the "Troop's" are coming.
I hate being with inlaws over Thanksgiving who don't understand the dire need I have to see this game.
My future in-laws were encouraging when I told them I would probably be eating and running on Thanksgiving. They just told me to make it back for the tasting we have scheduled for Sunday.
err, Saturday. Have to be back by Saturday morning. Hate will be driving me, I'm sure.
Bro, it has to be this way now with 12 games, otherwise we're playing 12 games without a break. So as long as we're playing 12 games a year, I'm all for the IB on T-Day weekend.
I'm for eliminating the meaningless 12th game and moving it back like it used to be.
I'm for 13 weeks of Hate without a break. 14 in the good years.
Bro...I'm with you there. Never have liked the 12th game. I know it's so teams will play a tougher non-conference schedule, but I don't see why we can't play Clemson next year and only two other cupcakes.
It's all about the Benjamins, sadly.
I may be crazy but I am starting to think we will win the game. Don't really know how. My wife has called all four losses this year. Even we we went up 14 Saturday she said we were going to get beat. Well all year she has said we will win the iron bowl. Well mabey shes onto something. Atleast she gives ME hope. If we get killed like most think well we still had a great year and have something to look forward to! It would be nice to hear the Chant 'OVERRATED" with about two mins left in the game.
We still owe them one for 1984.
Yeah, E-Bro. I'm all for a "Wrong-way Ingram" play. 1984 was my first in-person IB. It really sucked going in almost certain we were going to win, but then leaving with a loss. I hope the Bammers get to have that same feeling this year!
We owe them for 1985 as well.
84 and 85 were two years we had no business losing to them.
The 85 Bama team was very talented.
Probably the most even game of the series, IMO.
That '85 team stunk, FSJ.
I feel like we kind of evened things out for 85 with 97 and Jaret Holmes, assist of course going to Ed Scissum (who in all seriousness I did feel bad for though I was happy he did what he did).
Digger,
I also lived through the 0-10 1950 season. Thank goodness for Coach Jordon and he only went 5 and 5 his first year. The 12th game is all about M-O-N-E-Y. However,I kind of like the 12 game season as it gives us more football to be absorbed in. I think that waiting until after the 11th game to have your off week is not a good thing for the players both mentally and physically.
Noooo...
The 85 team had Bennett, Thomas, Al Bell, Jelks, Humphrey, Jon Hand.
They were strong...And Auburn had a great team too.
By far the best game I've seen between the two teams.
There are a few that nag at me..
1982, 1986, 1993, 1995, & 2002.
FSJ- 1997 doesnt bother you any?
FSJ...there are 39 of them that nag at me...
I don't feel nearly as giddy as I should watching the highlights of the 97 game. They show Scissum on the sidelines after the kick. So sad.
Harrison,
Good catch..It only bothers me because of how it ended. I didn't expect us to have a chance at all in the game.
The presidents refuse a playoff because it adds to many weeks to the season, but they had no qualms about adding a 12th game to the season.
I'm all for 11 games and 16 team playoff. I know I've seen that somewhere, can't seem to place it.
82-86 is probably the golden age of the Iron Bowl, IMO.
Each game was very close and won or lost with a great play.
I feel, however, that we as Auburn and Alabama fans are owed a really good Iron Bowl. When was the last time we had one?
2006 and 2007 were decent I guess, but I feel like you have to go back to 1997 for the last truly great game in the Iron Bowl, and even that wasn't really a well-played game, just a dramatic one.
Ok...somebody needs to work on making this thing flip...
1996 was an interesting one too E-Bro.
Alabama came out on fire and then couldn't do crap until the last drive.
One other thing..I don't know if my heart can take a really good Iron Bowl this year.
Let's start next year or the year after.
There will soon be 40 that nag at me. Assuming by nag you mean that it rips my heart out of my chest and sledgehammers it 40 times, then drops it on the railroad tracks for a few train passes, then crushes it to the size of a molecule of molybdenum. If thats what you mean, then yes, those losses nag at me.
THT...Believe.
It
is
over
for
the year.
