Hmmm, I am not sure. Tuberville taking the head coaching job at one of the six BCS conferences makes sense to me. Yea, throw in ND, although that isn't going to happen. I can't think of another independent he might consider.

Payment can be made by just messaging me on facebook.

The only thing I don't like is that it is open ended. I am not willing to bet he will even take a job in the next few years.

FSJ-I wish it was that easy to predict. This is a top notch WR that supposedly decommitted to take more visits. Rivals took him off AU's list. He said he is not going to UGA this weekend (they are having their big awards banquet this weekend) and decided to come to AU for a visit. He is a VERY good WR. He is not the guy I was referring to though.
(I do nto follo wrecruiting but if some are willing to put up some cash money, I might start)

I'll give you the short version. This was the summer after my freshman year at AU. We went to the Denmark/Uruguay match, which was in Ciudad Neza. That's a suburb of Mexico City, so required a drive. Since traffic down there is some of the craziest in the world, we hired a driver. The incidentals to the story are that we had a wreck on the way there, then got caught in a monsoon that flooded everything once we got there, which led to wading to the ticket booth, but I'll leave out the details on that. Anyway, Denmark crushed Uruguay 6-1. We were sitting with the Danes, so left the stadium on their side after the match to meet up with our driver. I happened to be wearing one of my old high school soccer jerseys, which looked almost just like the Danes' uniforms (plus I was rocking a Bono-style mullet, which added to the illusion). On the way to the car, the local fans starting pointing at me and commenting that I was one of the Danish players. By the time we got in the car, they had all decided that I definitely was. Of course, my family and I were riding with a hired driver, so it looked even more authentic. The fans started mobbing the car, shaking it, and banging on the windows. My family was starting to get pretty nervous, but I loved every second of it. I was waving and playing the celebrity the whole way (my dad wouldn't let me roll down the window to sign autographs, though). That's it in a nutshell. It was awesome!

4:29 PM
Blogger Peter Frankenschmidt said...

no carnage, but I guess that was better than a sweet corner kick. sounds like a 'riot'...yuk yuk yuk.

No carnage, PF, but they were on the lookout for it. Neza is a pretty dangerous city, so they had plenty of army guys with machine guns on hand. One of my favorite things during the game were the guys selling beer in the stands. They basically had small kegs strapped to their backs with a cup dispenser attached to the side.

According to university officials, football revenues have quadrupled under Brown, from $21.3 million in 1997 to $87.5 million in 2008. That figure is expected to grow again this year. Texas sold a school-record 84,000 season tickets this year.

As I think about it, Auburn and Bucs both followed similar paths. Both had a great season earlier in the decade on great D and good Offense, both stayed great on the Defensive side of the ball, but the offenses started to dissapoint. Last season they both fired their head coach, which the media deemed a mistake. And both coaches are now in the media, and while the media still pumps them up as top coaching prospects, no one has come a callin.

That's 19. And that was from failing memory, so accuracy not guaranteed.

Thanks THT. Mrs. THT not going to make it? I can't believe that I will have the honor to meet 2.0. That in itself seems to make this trip well worth while. Of course, an Auburn Tiger victory will make it a perfect trip for the old man. And yes, the folk at the home know that my boys will pick me up for a few days away. Gonna miss the scrable and heart games though.

It's more the time issue than the money. I have the money in my vacation fund. We even checked into flying to see if it would cut down on travel time. Not really. Still working on it, but without much hope.

THT - I'd love to make the trip but post-surgery I can't get on a plane until the end of January. That and several thousand in unplanned expenses over the last couple of months. So basically, the doctor and the budget just won't allow it this year.

Its been a long day and even though I haven't been on here much tonight, I have to tell all of my good Auburn friends goodnight. I want to wish a very Merry and blessed Christmas to you and your loved ones. May all of your presents be wrapped in burnt orange paper with a navy blue ribbon around them. And when you open them, you find the answer to all of your dreams. BTW, Happy New Year also.

So many times I heard you rhyme but you can't touch this
I'm kicking the type of flow that makes you say "You're too much Kris"
So feel the fire of the one they call the Mac Dad
The fire's what I pack and what I pack is real bad
I'd like to grab a hold of your soul and never let go
Never 'til they jump, 'til they say Hoooo
Now that's the state of mind I'm in huh...
With rhyme after rhyme I win
The Mac The Mac
Nuff for breakin' 'em off somethin'
They layin' in the back and front
Keepin' the speakers pumpin'
The miggida miggida miggida Mac came to get a warm
And my pants to the back that's my everyday uniform
You little cream puff Mac Daddy wannabe
Keep dreaming cause the Mac you will never be
So all y'all with the Dr. Seuss riddles
You can get the finger... the middle

I mean I have pretty much decided on it...
My best friend whom is my brother is a sophomore there... it is instate tuition which leads to me getting a new truck... the girls are phenomenal...FSU is a nice education...I think Jimbo will turn the football program around.
Havent made the decision yet but its like 90% im going up there

you better not, hag. Jimbo's gonna give you a miserable four(six?) falls. Chiz will deliver....actually sending a check to Tallahassee in a few weeks to apply for another school and another degree...sending one to Auburn, too, but not sure about being that far from home, even if we're planning on moving further north in Florida before the fall. Just don't want to go to Gainesville, even if it is the best program.

great read on Jimbo
