Speaking of wagers, where is Phormerly Phred. I think I owe him $20 if I recall correctly.
Oh well, bye Big Snacks.
He won MSU, Ole Nutt, and UT if I remember correctly. I won Arkansas and Alabama.
Steve
I'm not a bright guy. How would structure the wager?
You should structure it with love.
"As gentle as a child's whisper" perhaps Stinky?
Hmmm, I am not sure. Tuberville taking the head coaching job at one of the six BCS conferences makes sense to me. Yea, throw in ND, although that isn't going to happen. I can't think of another independent he might consider.
Payment can be made by just messaging me on facebook.
The only thing I don't like is that it is open ended. I am not willing to bet he will even take a job in the next few years.
I'm back....(much to the Chagrin of RK).
I missed you Snacks.
Has anybody used Google Wave?
Seriously, though. Terry Bowden's coaching tenure at Auburn should be off limits. I don't have the authority to make this happen, but Norm does. Norm, can I get a ruling?
I have Roosevelt Franklin.
I was just saying bye.
I have no positive or negative feelings about your comings and goings on here.
What's the dealio PF? Is it worth fooling with?
PF - yes you can. I believe that's covered under my 1:44 posting. Though he's not who I was specifically referencing, he's under the umbrella.
Steve, I think the loser pays the charity, not the other person.
Rosey,
Do you collaborate with others on things?
I've only used it to plan trips so far. It's got a cool plug-in that syncs with google maps, and you can all put in destinations, vote on things, and such.
I like the way it shares files and pics...and keeps a running sequence of discusions, so you can play it back and see how things went down.
Where does Doug Barfield and Brother Oliver fit into the equation?
Norm,
You made that statement, then were defied by someone talking about how Bowden did at Auburn? I'm shocked that the hammer hasn't dropped.
Thanks PF. That might be useful on projects.
WERK - comic relief.
RK,
You have feelings. Let them out.
PF - well, I wasn't really thinking of him at the time and truly don't care about him too much so I just let it slide.
I think students and people in creative professions will get the most benefit out of it, Rosey. It's one of the best tools I've seen (or what is supposed to be in the final version will be, anyway) for live collaboration, meetings, and such.
PF,
As much as I want to, I can't. I'm a repressed internet emotion guy.
How about making plans for when puppets rule the world?
Not that I'm a puppet.
Puppets could have one heckuva google wave, I would think.
Can the 3-4 central time (puppet hour, eastern) be called the Power Hour?
Taking it to the house now peeps. Enjoy yourselves and refrain from discussing those who should not be discussed. I'll check back with you later tonight and verify that you heeded my instructions.
What do you guys think about Tommy Tuberville?
FSJ-I wish it was that easy to predict. This is a top notch WR that supposedly decommitted to take more visits. Rivals took him off AU's list. He said he is not going to UGA this weekend (they are having their big awards banquet this weekend) and decided to come to AU for a visit. He is a VERY good WR. He is not the guy I was referring to though.
(I do nto follo wrecruiting but if some are willing to put up some cash money, I might start)
So, unless I'm missing something, it's looking increasingly unlikely that we lose anybody off the current coaching staff.
Anybody believe I'm wrong to think that?
I think that's a safe assessment Eddie. The only thing I would take into consideration as a caveat is if the domino effect down the way ends up clearing a spot one of our guys could take.
Peaches come from a can.
Sean...that's also the only thing I could see happening to unsettle this staff.
You know what else would unsettle this staff? Montezuma's Revenge if they decided to start recruiting in Mexico, that's what. It'd be very unsettling.
Don't drink the water, PF.
I went to Mexico City in '86 during the World Cup. The first hotel we were in had bottled water in the bathroom, but you could tell they had unscrewed the caps and most likely filled them with tap water. We quickly vacated for another hotel.
For the futbol fans on here, I have an interesting story about a match I attended on that trip, if you're interested.
SC...I'm interested.
If it involves carnage, I'm in.
If it involves a sweet corner kick, I'd rather hear about Tubs.
4 star WR Antonio Goodwin is recommited to Auburn for those who havent seen this yet
Tommy Tuberville
Tony Franklin
James Willis
Will Muschamp
Terry Bowden
Corey Spurlin
Harvey Glance
I have the most delicious Toffee in the world... you should all be jealous, very jealous
API...just wait until Norm catches wind of this.
It's on like Donkey Kong.
I'll give you the short version. This was the summer after my freshman year at AU. We went to the Denmark/Uruguay match, which was in Ciudad Neza. That's a suburb of Mexico City, so required a drive. Since traffic down there is some of the craziest in the world, we hired a driver. The incidentals to the story are that we had a wreck on the way there, then got caught in a monsoon that flooded everything once we got there, which led to wading to the ticket booth, but I'll leave out the details on that. Anyway, Denmark crushed Uruguay 6-1. We were sitting with the Danes, so left the stadium on their side after the match to meet up with our driver. I happened to be wearing one of my old high school soccer jerseys, which looked almost just like the Danes' uniforms (plus I was rocking a Bono-style mullet, which added to the illusion). On the way to the car, the local fans starting pointing at me and commenting that I was one of the Danish players. By the time we got in the car, they had all decided that I definitely was. Of course, my family and I were riding with a hired driver, so it looked even more authentic. The fans started mobbing the car, shaking it, and banging on the windows. My family was starting to get pretty nervous, but I loved every second of it. I was waving and playing the celebrity the whole way (my dad wouldn't let me roll down the window to sign autographs, though). That's it in a nutshell. It was awesome!
no carnage, but I guess that was better than a sweet corner kick. sounds like a 'riot'...yuk yuk yuk.
The U.S. House of Representatives is the biggest waste of space in the world.
SC...great story. You should consider changing your blogger ID to The Great Dane...or Michael Laudrup.
No carnage, PF, but they were on the lookout for it. Neza is a pretty dangerous city, so they had plenty of army guys with machine guns on hand. One of my favorite things during the game were the guys selling beer in the stands. They basically had small kegs strapped to their backs with a cup dispenser attached to the side.
Don't forget to sign up for the HABOTN Bowl Pick'em! This can be found on Yahoo!
This group is FREE.
Group ID# is 12699 and Password is: outback
Once you sign up, take note of the Commish Note and sign up for the wager group as well.
Beer guys with kegs on their backs is probably the greatest thing I've ever heard of. I wish I had thought of that when I was in college. The freshmen would be given full time keg guy duty, and it would have been awesome!
According to Goldberg, there were over 5400 at the Au-Va game. Folks on the HABOTN were complaining(imagine that)that only 750-1000 were in attendance.
Wonder which is correct?
5400? I'm going with Jay G. Chuck's lost his mind if he thinks 5400 people showed up to an early season b-ball game.
This comment has been removed by the author.
take a gander at this and tell me there's 1500 people there, much less 4500.
E-Bro, Laudrup did score a goal in that match, but Preben Elkjær had a hat trick.
I'm sure that JGT can reasonably estimate a small crowd like that. Maybe the University is "creating" larger #s just for show?
Seems weird.
SC...then Preben Elkjær it shall be.
I just went with Laudrup because he's generally regarded as the best Danish player ever and I figured he played in that match, although he was in the early part of his career.
Michael and API are now on my new list (I maintain several).
I would imagine 5,400 is the announced number based on ticket sales.
SC ... Impressive, but Michael gets the same on his twice weekly trip to the grocery
You mean with people thinking he's Jan Terri?
You know what I don't understand? Tagalog. Not a single word.
I'm guessing that's 5,400 paid.
From NY Times article:
Some recruits say their (hostesses) influence is significant.
“You don’t want to go to a college where they ain’t pretty,” Lattimore said.
Amen!
peter...that pciture is of the non-student side. The student section pretty much filled up because they gave out the vouchers for 1/2 price bowl tickets. I would imagine that 5,400 tickets were sold(alot of students walked in, got their voucher, walked out.) But the actual attendance was probably around 2,000
I haven't been on all day day 'cause I'm having problems with my neck and shoulders again (curses!) so I don't know what's been discussed.
I just watched a segment on PTI about the investigations going on at UT. Talk about double standards! Let's investigate UT for something that goes on everywhere - and has been for a VERY long time - (NO, that doesn't make it right), but pretend the REC doesn't exist.
E-bro, I don't think we loose any coaches this season. The only possibility would be if some like the new ND head coach had a relationship with one of our coaches. I haven't really heard of something like that.
Luv, I don't know that all schools have their hoochie travel squad. It is a bit to blatant of a violation.
I think al.com is the who's who of the worst people in the world.
Maybe everywhere was a stretch, but I'm sure it goes on at a lot of schools. What the REC does seems pretty blatant (and worse) to me, but because the members have tons of money, the NCAA won't touch it.
I'm with Luv. This isn't the first time I've heard of this, though UT seems to have stepped it up a notch! Still not a new concept.
I've also heard boosters from several schools have been at every game Lattimore has played this year.
I found it interesting to look at the recruiters of Goodwin listed on rivals: Tracy Rocker, Trooper Taylor, James Willis, Rodney Garner, and Terry Price. What do all of these guys have in common?
Randy Moeller has to be one of the best hockey play by play guys ever. He makes dreadful Florida Panthers games sound exciting.
...and I ain't lying
....ohhh, that'll bend the spokes
....he can't handle the biscuit
...we've got a dandy for ya
all said in a 45 second clip with a wraspy old Canadian accent. It's wonderful to listen to.
I believe it was one of the Colorado schools that had a similar incident years ago.
Blackness?
is Colordo off probation yet for that? They got nailed for what seemed like hundreds of violations in that investigation.
I don't know, but it was a very big deal.
They all have an "e" in their name and they all have an AU connection.
wrong, Chocolateman. It's blackness. Steve wanted to point out their blackness.
They are? Really? I didn't know that. I don't see color like that.
Watching Christina Aguilera in her new commercial makes me think she could be an Orange Julia or a Jeze-Bama Belle.
I figured you had already taken care of that, Big Snacks.
I have an E in my name too, Chiz should have sent me after Lattimore.
Norm, I didn't realize your eye problems had gotten that bad. I can't imagine not being able to see major colors like black and White.
give it time, Norm. Your eyes will adjust to the world in color eventually.
Christina Aguilera...Donnie's pants are getting tight!
What is they've never gone duck hunting with Tommy Tuberville?
I guess Lattimore isn't interested in Bama 'cause they don't have any pretty girls.
They've never been in my kitchen!
if you knew I had the answer right, why'd you keep guessing. Michael's goats would disapprove.
guys. really. I got the answer. You can stop guessing.
Well, be that as it may PF, those people have NEVER been in my kitchen.
They've all been in my kitchen.
fwiw, I'd like to see the world sing in perfect harmony.
Pics or it didn't happen.
So let me get this straight, Michael's goats have been in PF's kitchen and Norm wants pictures?
now I have to 'splain my bad joke about having a TV in my kitchen, always on on football days...thanks.
norm wouldn't be able to see them if I had the pics. he can't see black and white.
PF's kitchen is nice with all those woks and supplies for making lettuce wraps.
In addition to not understanding Tagalog as I told you earlier, I also want you to know that it's tricky to rock a rhyme.

Mack Brown makes same as Tubs did last year..
By JIM VERTUNO, AP Sports Writer
2 hours, 8 minutes ago
AUSTIN, Texas (AP)—Texas coach Mack Brown is a $5 million man, not just this season, but for the life of his contract.
from that same article
According to university officials, football revenues have quadrupled under Brown, from $21.3 million in 1997 to $87.5 million in 2008. That figure is expected to grow again this year. Texas sold a school-record 84,000 season tickets this year.
oh,drdra, I forgot they streamed live. they should have an archive of his goal calls somewhere on that site ( maybe under the dan lebotard show)....try to catch a couple of minutes of the third period, too if you get a chance. I like him a lot ( I've heard Lange, too, and can say that Moeller may not be better, but he's not far behind).
howdy peeps
jhag - How was the debate?
I passed the law to abolish Affirmative Action class vote was 21 to 5 in my favor, hooray extra credit!
According to Goodwin... he never de-committed in the first place... Rivals got some bad info, and ran with it, and it got blown out of proportion. He was getting pressure to go to UGA, and did plan to visit this weekend. But, because his status has gotten so blown out of proportion, he cancelled his visit to UGA, re-affirmed his commitment to AU, and is taking his official to AU this weekend to help do a little recruiting for the good guys.
Like, WTC... I don't follow recruiting, but I do take cash donations via paypal... (or you could just sign up for the Bowl Pick'em!)
Good job jhag. I wrote a large paper on that topic for a Constitutional Law class back in college. Scored an A.
D.Miller & wtc..
Together they would put Rivals, Scout, & ESPN out of business..
If only they followed recruiting.
con-law? no thanks.
Auburn has already exceeded it's ticket allotment for the Outback bowl and has requested more? Not bad....
very nice...and people said they'd get stuck with tickets...eff you, people.
As a Bucs fan, I miss the days when you sat your fantasy stud against Monte's D... instead of starting average players when they faced the Bucs.
I'm stuck with tickets. 5 to be exact. I guess I could offer them to the AU ticket office.
As I think about it, Auburn and Bucs both followed similar paths. Both had a great season earlier in the decade on great D and good Offense, both stayed great on the Defensive side of the ball, but the offenses started to dissapoint. Last season they both fired their head coach, which the media deemed a mistake. And both coaches are now in the media, and while the media still pumps them up as top coaching prospects, no one has come a callin.
Home from an exhausting, but good day at the hospital. Dad has his cardiac cath and it went perfectly. Not stints, no angiolasty, no bypasses. Only a 40% blockage in one artery, everything else looked great. Thanks for your prayers. I am beat, so I am off to bed.
See you tomorrow, Hot Ones!
has=had
thanks for sharing that GREAT news, Cincy!!!
dang, THT...I hope you get rid of them. STEP UP HOTTIES!!!! Good deads need to go unpunished...wonder if AU would take them...there's always Stubhub or ebay. If you price them at cost, they'll go fast.
Hooray, Cincy!
I looked at ebay. Good seats listed at cost are unsold nearing the end of their listing.
I'll check stubhub.
THT,
I just happened to read on AL.com about Auburn selling tickets. Someone posted that if anyone had extra tickets, they would buy them all. Might be worth checking.
THT,
I am hoping that some of the hotties step up and relieve you of your 5 ticket burden or that you can move them some other way. I wish I could help you, but I have heard of no one around P'ville needing tickets, not even J-Z. I sure do appreciate your effort and can't wait to meet you and some of the other hotties that will be in attendance. Could you publish a list of the ones that are going to be there when you have a chance? I would like to know who all will be sitting in the first ever HABOTN reserved Outback Bowl section. Thanks again for your having handled this for us.
I am really trying not to pout about not getting to go to the Outback Bowl. I really, really want to go, but it is not looking like it will work out.
I will not pout, I will not pout...
yeahk, THT, Call the boys at J&J TV Repair (no number left, ha).
Cincy, sell your graves and make it happen :-P
Cincy,
I am glad to hear the good news about your Dad. I haven't been on here much the last few days and I missed that he had problems and needed prayers on his behalf. I just entered mine with the master healer and I know that he will listen to me and help your Dad to recover.
and no J&J TV repair via google or yellowpages

THT2.0
That's 19. And that was from failing memory, so accuracy not guaranteed.
Thanks THT. Mrs. THT not going to make it? I can't believe that I will have the honor to meet 2.0. That in itself seems to make this trip well worth while. Of course, an Auburn Tiger victory will make it a perfect trip for the old man. And yes, the folk at the home know that my boys will pick me up for a few days away. Gonna miss the scrable and heart games though.
It's more the time issue than the money. I have the money in my vacation fund. We even checked into flying to see if it would cut down on travel time. Not really. Still working on it, but without much hope.
anyone buying this Edsall to ND garbage? I cant tell if they are smoke screening or actually interested in these little names...
Warm it up Kris...
THT - I'd love to make the trip but post-surgery I can't get on a plane until the end of January. That and several thousand in unplanned expenses over the last couple of months. So basically, the doctor and the budget just won't allow it this year.
Its been a long day and even though I haven't been on here much tonight, I have to tell all of my good Auburn friends goodnight. I want to wish a very Merry and blessed Christmas to you and your loved ones. May all of your presents be wrapped in burnt orange paper with a navy blue ribbon around them. And when you open them, you find the answer to all of your dreams. BTW, Happy New Year also.
I'm about to...
Good night, IV.
MrsTHT would rather go to work. That and the a zillion weekend trips the past 2 months have got her all traveled out for right now.
anyone watching this UK game?
I am jhag.
Jump! Jump!
played the kid Eric Bledsoe in AAU ball all I remember is having the ball above my head and a fast black man stealing it away running to the other end of the court and dunking
I just can't seem to stay up to the wee hours like I used to. Time to crash.
Good night, Hotties!
John Wall is being way to pass-first he can pull up or drive whenever he wants but he always is looking to pass first
Somehow I don't think 600 is going to happen tonight.
Oh we can make it happen if we believe
'Cause that's what I was born to do..
im up for the challenge
And I was also born to kill a thread.
Insert inspirational Dr. Lou speech.
Who else is going to join Jhag, J-Z and myself on this noblest of journeys?
So many times I heard you rhyme but you can't touch this
I'm kicking the type of flow that makes you say "You're too much Kris"
So feel the fire of the one they call the Mac Dad
The fire's what I pack and what I pack is real bad
I'd like to grab a hold of your soul and never let go
Never 'til they jump, 'til they say Hoooo
Now that's the state of mind I'm in huh...
With rhyme after rhyme I win
The Mac The Mac
Nuff for breakin' 'em off somethin'
They layin' in the back and front
Keepin' the speakers pumpin'
The miggida miggida miggida Mac came to get a warm
And my pants to the back that's my everyday uniform
You little cream puff Mac Daddy wannabe
Keep dreaming cause the Mac you will never be
So all y'all with the Dr. Seuss riddles
You can get the finger... the middle
Like that?
we are the nobles
so I hope the HABOTN nation doesnt disown me if I announce I am going to reside in Tallahassee next year
Kris Kross'll make you...
Couldn't think of a better way to get this party jumpin then a little Kriss Kross
A hag's gotta do what a hag's gotta do.
Can't blame you a bit Jhag. Is that what you settled on?
we have a great game on ESPN
(4) Kentucky 49
(12)UCONN 46
8 mins remaining
for those that are bored
Can't blame you for staying in state, and your far better there than joining the evilness that oozes from Gainesville.
I mean I have pretty much decided on it...
My best friend whom is my brother is a sophomore there... it is instate tuition which leads to me getting a new truck... the girls are phenomenal...FSU is a nice education...I think Jimbo will turn the football program around.
Havent made the decision yet but its like 90% im going up there
Gainesville sucks compared to Tallahassee
Jhag's following Lattimore's train of thought to an extent.
Congrats. We look forward to hearing about the swath of destruction you leave in your wake.
I think Eddie Gran has a shot of bringing Lattimore to Tallahassee, especially after I commit haha
you better not, hag. Jimbo's gonna give you a miserable four(six?) falls. Chiz will deliver....actually sending a check to Tallahassee in a few weeks to apply for another school and another degree...sending one to Auburn, too, but not sure about being that far from home, even if we're planning on moving further north in Florida before the fall. Just don't want to go to Gainesville, even if it is the best program.

Goodnight boys.
Quitter.
I think Jimbo can turn it around honestly... his mentors were Nick Saban and Bobby Bowden, doesn't get better then that
great read on Jimbo
http://www.tomahawknation.com/2009/12/7/1189140/how-will-jimbo-fisher-change
And if he doesnt turn it around ill drink my blues away
You're going to do that whether he wins or loses.
How did your affirmative action talk go?
this is also true, so im happy either way
I spanked the competition, got 21 votes to 5 in my class...i feely very strongly against it so it was an easy debate for me...Affirmative Action is just bad
Does Auburn get badmouthed again since UL hired Charlie Strong? (sorry if this was discussed earlier, I didn't read back.)
Seriously... you all leave now?
5 star Lamarcus Joyner just committed to FSU, very nice Jimbo!
make this thing flip, you bunch of sissies
I'm about to..
j-z, i wouldn't think so considering the season turner gill had and how gene chizik is doing here
who cares what Barkley thinks? He'd be the only one to bring that back up now. Unless he's talking about basketball, I don't listen.
I don't think ESPN really looks at stuff like that. They have become the National Enquirer of the sports world.
We're so close fellas
fsu gets joyner rather than tOSU or UA-T. I'm good with that.
very true, but I think we made a good decision
Getting there... it's time to go to work.
I'm not a flipper. Somebody else will have to take charge.
I'm just a BEASLEY!!!
Tick
Sorry... only had time for one tick.
good fourth page, anyone watching this UK/UCONN game?
See this is what happens when you believe in yourself and your team.
well done!
