I was just griping about the corporate stuff because that killed us this past Christmas (and the one before that). 2006 and 2007 were pretty decent. If he goes to Louisiana Tech and becomes a head coach, that seems like a longer term commitment, to me, unless you are Kiffikin.

Bottom line is that if we win the west next season, Malzahn will be a candidate at major schools. Even if we come close, when 9 or 10 regular season games, he will be a top name for any big time school looking for a coach.

Why in the world would he want to tie himself into Louisiana Tech? Even if they doubled his salary, it would likely end up costing him money in the end, if that is the concern.; 6:01 PM

wtc said...: He is not in town right now. He may come Saturday. Not clear on the scholly issue right now. He had an offer early on. He has some 'off field' issues also that caused several schools to back away. Getting him on campus is a start. They may offer if they do not get a committment from some others this weekend. He is the #5 player in the country and Chizik has stated he wants the best player he can get regardless of position.
