Auburn swimmer nabs prestigious honor
Hey everyone. Auburn swimmer Jordan Anderson was named the male winner of the Southeastern Conference's H. Boyd McWhorter Scholar-Athlete of the Year Award.
This is not surprising. Anderson was awarded a Rhodes Scholarship last fall and will spend the 2010-11 academic year studying at Oxford University. He has a 3.92 grade point average and plans to become a dentist one day.
Anderson gets more than a plaque and his name on the HABOTN. The SEC doles out $15,000 post-graduate scholarships, funded by AT&T and the Sugar Bowl, to each of the two winners.
(Tennessee track and field standout Phoebe Wright also garnered honors.)

almost as fast as Jason Heyward's 1st MLB HR. but not near as fast as DL!
congrats to mr. anderson. quite impressive.
Get it? Dentist? Plaque? That's good JGT!!
Academic substance is most impressive.
an athlete, 3.92 GPA, Rhodes Scholar, not quite sure how he does it
SIAP.. The city of Birmingham is spending $30,000 to buy the old video scoreboard from UA to use at Legion Field. I have two questions....Isn't this the same scoreboard that caught on fire last summer? And Legion Field is still standing?
Congrats to the young man. That is quite an achievement!
On top of all this, the guy is pretty hot. Wait, did I just say that? Wait!!!
MJT/Queen/Thighmaster/King/Boxhead - I think it's spelled "HAWT".
oh LAWD
I am just settling back in to work after a long Easter weekend. My Bammer fan brother-in-law (who lives in Hong Kong) is staying with us for a few days. I haven't seen him in almost two years, so there hadn't been any discussion of UAT's MNC. He brought it up by asking me if I was happy that the MNC stayed in the SEC. He seemed genuinely surprised when I said "Absolutely effing not!" and then punched him in the face. I don't know what else he expected. He's lucky I didn't break out the poison chocolates.
What is your biggest surprise of spring practice so far?
FSJ: I figured Newton would have already been named the starter...
ScoCho - was he more surprised by the answer or the punch in the face?
I bet Hong Kong is like heaven to a Bammer. Imagine all of the cheap knock-off stuff the Bammers love!
FSJ,
Mine has been the praise we've heard for John Sullen, because we were so set at OL, I expected to not hear much about any of the back ups.
Also FSJ, do you have a link to the story about the video board, I'd like to see that for myself
I think he has forgotten the intensity level of the rivalry. He has been living all over the world for 10 or 12 years and doesn't get back here all that often. Honestly, he's a really nice guy. The only way he's a typical Bammer is that he didn't go to school there. He went to B'ham Southern.
The City of Bham is run by idiots. They need to burn down Legion Field and build a po-leece station at that spot.
The bball game last night was very intense with well-coached smart players on both teams. Butler seemed to be trying to play a little quicker than they were able and that seemed to cause the slight physical sloppiness in their passes/shots.
Hong Kong knock-offs....love it.
Fearless...
Here u go..

Thanks for the congrats. This is the first time I have won a bracket. Thanks to all the big teams that got beat by all the smaller name teams. Thank you Duke.
Jay thank you for your work you do and giving us a place for all of us Auburn peeps to come and hang out
Hey, Hotties.
I enjoyed the basketball game last eve, even though the team I was for didn't win. I was impressed that two of the Butler players are academic all Americans. They should meet our extra-smart swimmer, Mr. Anderson.
Funny story..
I came in 2nd in a buy in bracket for the march of dimes...
I was too lazy to fill out my bracket so my sister did so for me.
I'm sure my expert analysis would have put me over the top.
Because I'm on a boring con-call and since this thread seems to be moving at a Sloth-like pace, I offer the following interesting articles:
