Grrrrr!
Nonoooo bammer!
Thanks Jay. That looks pretty good. We are a little low on RB, TE, DT, and DB; but it isn't horrible. We have tons of WR, some who could fill in at DB or RB.
Gotta be quick cincy...
BTW, from the previous thread...she didn't exactly kick me in the heart...I wish she had.
Steve, don't forget about incomings at those positions.
57+25 = 82 < 85
Looks like we won't have to kick any backups off the team for showing up late to class this summer. That's good news!
Just sayin if my daughter told me she liked Alabama now instead of Auburn, it would kick me in the heart. Is your heart with Auburn now :)
How is Abbie by the way?
Interesting breakdown, JGT...
There will be a lot of contributors from the incoming Frosh in the Fall...
B'ham peeps.... any of you play in a softball league? I need to find a team
MJT,
Personally, I'll be dsiappointed. That's my favorite part of summer workouts.
Yea, the incoming will help a lot, although it is nice to be able to redshirt. The incoming are why I am not concerned with LBs. We are actually looking pretty good there.
I wish we had another true RB other than Dyer coming in, but we should be fine.
DT will still be a concern, but it will really help if we get all the DTs in that we signed. I think there was three if you count the RB/DT. I have heard one is likely not to qualify.
The coaches did a much better job of filling needs this time. Part of the reason we are still a little thin at DT and RB is because we had some major prospects we were hoping for there and didn't get them, but it isn't bad. They have enough players to work with.
PF.... you can wait and hear of some roster trimmings to the basketball team... that should satisfy you
How many RBs does there need to be? All 5 should be able to play. None totally suck.
Good Point, Miller
PF, I admit it is mildly entertaining seeing how many non-contributing scholarship players turn out not to be Auburn Men after all. Maybe Chiz will still do that for old times sakes.
@AUPPL: Tony Caldwell hits a ball off the scoreboard (in-play) and is thrown out at second base. 1 out.
Wondeful base running/luck. Down one in the 8th.
Peter, check your FB inbox.
Correction, 9th. Game over Troy 5 AU 4...Troy comes back from. 4-2 deficit with 3 unearned runs to win. Despit the fact that Auburn used midweek pitchers who, for the most part, will not see the mound on the weekends, I'm going back to hoping for Hoover instead of claiming it.
cincy,
Abbie is doing fine...She's a very sweet and funny kid. I wish I was more like her..
As for my heart...I think it is in Vegas or some place like that.
FSJ,
Be careful, I hear weird things can happen in Vegas and it stays there!
What's the story on Anthony Gulley Morgan and the name change?
I smell a good blurb for Auburn Notes.
Completely random, but...
For shame, Eddie, for shame earlier today for having no confidence in Man United against Chelski on Saturday.
And the CL tie against Bayern ain't over yet, either.
Okay, back to Auburn...
Why is there no $$$$ for Brent Poole?
This is what I have read in a couple of places about Morgan. He was raised in an adoptive home and chose to change his last name to honor his adoptive family.
HAWT

I'm my favorite. Don't tell the others.
No Ralph Spry Jr.?
And absolutely disappointing in our Baseball results.
Cincy, that is correct about Gulley Morgan.
Spry, as far as I know, is not on scholarship at this time.
Good deal, Cincy.
Thanks.
BRENT POOLE DESERVES A CHANCE!
Typically I would prefer at least 6 or 7 RBs, but it does depend upon how many we are going to have on the field at once. Since the H-Back could be a WR or TE I guess it should be okay. Remember that we have had years with 3 or 4 RBs injured. Remember the year when Tre started in the Iron Bowl? Not to mention that with the up tempo offense, we have more carries to spread around. In general you have 3 or 4 times the number of starter at a position.
okay, I get that SteveFC. Especially if you've got RB's in the slot.
Alright, it's 7p on the left coast. Hot Wife flew home this morning, I left the office a few hours ago and have been working in the hotel since then. Now I'm hungry. I'm walking across the street to the Hyatt restaurant/bar and putting my feedbag on. Y'all be cool.
So, Rollison and Mike McNeil aren't on scholarship right now???
be cool honey bunny
I'm pretty sure Rollison is, he's just not on the roster.
Miller, I'm not on a team but if you find one I would be interested.
Jessel Curry chose spring football practice over dates to homecoming and the prom? I smell first-ballot, Ring of Fire in his future.
who the eff are Landon and Brandon. Newcomers with rhyming names rule!
I smell walmartians!!!
I'm leaving it with you all. Got to get up early for P90X. Wish me luck.
nah.
U.S. women playing Mexico on ESPN2 in the snow in Salt Lake City. kinda funny.
Funny haha or what?
Go USA!!
I won't count Rollison, he gone, but McNeil counts.
AU will have to recruit just as wel this coming year for OL and DT. That is the priority for 2011 class.
Take 1-2 Rb's, 1 QB, 2 WR's, 4 DB, 2 DE, 5LB, 4 OL and 4 DT.
I think that will do it.
Jet has the correct call on QB:
Newton
Moseley
Caudle
Trotter (unitl he transfers)
I notice there's still roon for a longsnapper on that group...Is there a punter in this incoming class? If not, might be a good idea for 2011.
AU leads the SEC with 47 errors and then committed 2 tonight. That is 49 errors in 25 games.
PF-we added a place kicker(top 5 in nation) and a punter (#1 in the nation)and they will be coming in this fall.
Looks like Malzahn is going to cut is QB list to at least 3 soon. I would think by this weekend it is dropped by the weekend and possibly to 2.
Thanks, wtc. I knew about the PK, couldn't remember the P situation, and was too lazy to look...Yep, that should do. They'll need a walk-on to backup the punting duties, but those have been easy to come by in recent years.
Almost 2 E per game is unacceptable.
Yea, some schools don't even give kickers scholarships, or at least not until they prove themselves. I feel good about the kickers we've got.
In general, the coaches satisfied our needs in this last class. I was most impressed with the OLs and LBs we got. OL was going to be a huge concern in 2011, but I am not nearly as concerned.
Trotter should transfer. It is hard to see him getting playing time unless we see an unbelievable number of QB injuries. Usually I would say 4 QBs is a good number, but we have so many ex-QBs on this team, having an emergency QB in case of disaster shouldn't be a problem.
I just had a conversation with an old friend from college, that I had not spoken with since graduating... I had dated her sister at one point and hadn't seen or heard from her since even before then... so, being bored I just googled her and lo and behold the girl in now a frickin' swimsuit model!
Interesting... very interesting.
I swear I made a comment on here earlier. So did Jet I thought. Where did they go?
I stumbled across my first girlfriend's FB page recently. I was 15 and she was 12 when we were 'dating' back in '76, and I haven't seen her in almost 30 years.
She's a dead ringer for Barbara Eden, as she looked in the last season of I Dream Of Jeannie. Not bad for a 47-year-old.
Morning Hotties!
It's 7.48 and i've already wasted 2 hours of daylight waiting for breakfast; y'all best not do the same. Carpe Diem, Hotties!
WARRRRRRRRRR EAGLE!!!
2.0 - arrived here a few min. ago. Google chat?
I forget... did we sign 27 or 28 in the 2010 signing class? Any word on which ones won't get their scholly this year?
Ditto what 2.0 said ^^^
Morning all
somebody else is awake!
I'm up too.
But not for long
Sweet AU dreams, Wakerider
JAGR!!!
Jay,
Good article in the MA on Mario. Looking forward to a great year for him.
Is Bart Eddins still running with the first team?
JGT's Fannin article
In my company, whenever we rank everyone, the bottom 5% get invited to leave.
I think Mario has the biggest arms I've ever seen on a RB
Y'all humor me, I've got to tell you a funny on my dad.
He and Mom are visiting my sister in Fairhope for Easter week and my sis signed him up for a pottery class yesterday. He arrived a little early and went into a room where he heard voices. Someone said, "Are you Bill?" He affirmed he was and they said their model was a little late and they would get started soon. The teacher came up and showed him a drawing of a naked woman and told him this was their model and they would be concentrating on sculpting this particular pose. Dad is thinking, "I thought she signed me up for a pottery class and we were going to make a vase or something!" About then the model came in and started stripping off her clothes. She was about half undressed and Dad said, "I think I'm in the wrong place. Is this the pottery class?" Turned out he was in the sculpture class, not the pottery c;ass. I think he was very relieved to get out of there!
You'd have to know my Dad to know how funny this is!!
This is not an April Fool's joke!
Mornin', Hotties!
Cincy, that is a great story. My pop, rest his soul, might have stayed in the sculpture class.
Good morning, ladies.
Ephemeral - what's that parade all about?
nice cincy. pottery & a peep show for old dad. haha.
The funny thing is my dad does a stand up routine as 'Simp Bean' a country guy just telling about life as he sees it. He is hilarious. He performs for Lion's Clubs and hospital board dinners and community stuff like that. He is in quite the demand. This will be a great story for old Simp! I can't wait to hear how he embellishes it.
Will he do his stand up routine for the Hotties?
A tale of two companies:
Google changes the name of their company to Topeka in honor of Topeka, KS changing it's name to Google, KS.
Yahoo has an article stodgily warning you not to fall for gags today.
THT appears to be on a cocaine bing. Everyone keep him in their thoughs.
He might have realized where he was when the pictures of a naked lady came out and waited around just long enough for the robe to drop.
I now have to drive to Miami to yell at people today. I thought I was going to have a nice day off...oh,well.
PF,
Yeah, maybe so. I think what threw him off was them calling him by name when he came it. Apparently there was another Bill...
PF -that's funny. Actually, I fell asleep around 8 pm last night after being up most of the previous night. So I was pretty well rested shortly after midnight.
I've got work that's going to keep me away for 10 minutes, so...
let's do this
Hello Kennesaw, GA!!!
Yipee!
nice THT. :)
2.0 will be leaving the beautiful city of Tromso on an island in a northern Norwegian fjiord in a few mintues. Looks like a beautiful late afternoon for flying.
all these 2.0 updates are making me very jealous THT. ;)
THT,
The parade is in Columbus, GA, some time in early 1900's. API band marching down Broadway in conjunction with the game with UGA, played in Columbus at that time.
I got it off the Auburn website along time ago, but I can't tell you where I found it.
Jay, what happened to Robert Cooper? Noticed he's not on your scholly roster.
me too, Scottie B! I'd love to be touring around.
Thanks, Ephemeral. Before the days of the interstate, we would go through Columbus on the way from NC to LA to visit my grandparents. One Christmas, my parents forgot to pack the "Santa stuff" so they bought more in Columbus (I was 8 and oblivious). They called a friend and told them where the stuff was back home in NC and had them put it under our tree so it would be there when we got home. Two Santa visits...the best Christmas ever!
p.s. in Glenwood, AL I found a Johnny 7-OMA under the tree.
Back home, I found one of those old timey electric football games where the players just run in circles.
Also, I don't delete posts without a public explanation.
Blogger has been dealing with some issues during the past 2 weeks. We just have to wait it out ...
Cooper is on scholarship.
I can say that I've heard stuff about A.J. Greene and Jamar Travis this spring ... and not a word about Robert Cooper.
Still, it appears I was wrong. He's being added to the roster.
Good morning, Blogger Tate.
Is "stuff" good?
I wouldn't say "good" ... but it constitutes "alive."
I'm being totally honest when I say this: I don't know which position Robert Cooper staffs. So I listed him as an athlete.
Pandora app is acting up. This makes me mad.
THT,
I am from the Columbus area and still get back occasionally.
Similar to your story, we would go to my grandparents "in the country" for Christmas. One year, Santa forgot stuff for my cousin so that he had gifts when he got back home in addition to what was at our grandparents'. I was so envious and could not understand why Santa left toys for me at only one locale.
Children can be so greedy.
I'll go out on a limb and equate "alive" with "good".
Go ahead and put Cooper at QB
;-)
Ephemeral - just be thankful you didn't get coal
AU's website has him listed as TE.
I heart Pandora (and Slacker)
late morning crickets?
chirp.....chirp.
Just caught up on comments, and have two questions:
Did anyone notice that there was a civil exchange between SFC and PF last night?
What's a Johnny 7-OMA?
It just looked that way. We were muttering hate under our breaths.
Johnny Seven OMA
Just read through a bunch of stuff. Great substance JGT
2.0 I still say you are having way too much fun. Stay safe and continue.
QB's
Newton
Newton
Newton
if he gets hurt Moseley
PF, I accept your explanation, but don't let it happen again.
THT, I looked up the Johnny 7 OMA...pretty cool.
It was one of my favorites, SC. MrsTHT is jealous because she wanted one as a kid. I would set up my toy train on trestles in the basement and blow them up with the "rockets" and "grenades". Destructive play is the most fun!
It was the best selling boys toy in 1964...The Half dollar was 90% silver in 1964. In 1965, it switched to a copper core with silver plating.
are you a coin collector, PF?
My favorite toys growing up (aside from the standards like Hot Wheels/Matchbox, GI Joe, etc.):
*Evel Knievel motorcycle and action figure (I got a replacement one of these about 10 years ago).
*James Bond Astin Martin toy car (with all the gadgets...interestingly, also one of the top-selling toys of 1964)
*Thundershift 500 race track
*Rock'em Sock'em Robots
*Verti-Bird
*Some knock-off of a Nerf football that was actually better than a nerf football. It had a plasticy coating on the outside of it that made it easier to throw.
I'm probably forgetting something, but those are what immediately come to mind.
Newton tore his UCL in a weight lifting accident this morning, per Fannin's twitter. He'll have to get Tommy John surgery within the next month. Better start rethinking my depth chart.
Wells, that had better be an April Fool's joke!
You got me scotty. I figured I could come up with something today.
I'm just glad SC's response was already there when I read that, wells. Otherwise, I'd have swallowed the bait.
If I twittered, my tweet would say: 2.0's plane landed 12 minutes ago at Oslo airport, just in time for supper.
Chirping and tweeting in the last hour...do I hear any whistling, warbling, or quacking? No cooing, please.
Hello, Germany.
Any of you douches jinx Cam with an April fool's joke, I'll go Tonya Harding on your kneecaps. No foolin'.
And there's Lagrange again. Probably one of my old girlfriends stalking me.
Stooges marathon on AMC. Don't miss out!
Norway sighting!!!
THT- you can stop now.
she was talking to me. The rest of you Hotties don't have to stop.
THT, nah. I think they're neat, and know a little about some things (like the '64 hd) but I only collect memories, not stuff.
Ehyou, they've been playing stooges a lot lately.
that's smart, PF. Stuff burns.
i like stuff. have lots of stuff. keep fire away from my stuff.
What's up peeps? I've finally recovered enough from my other football habit and work to grace you guys with my presence.
A civil exchange between SFC and PF?? Surely, you jest.
If people keep mentioning it, me and Steve are gonna spam every thread for the next week with civil exchanges. Do you really want to rwad through thousands of boring posts by us to get to one or two by someone who has something interesting to say? Didn't think so.
Oh come on Pete, y'all should do it. It's not like you guys have anything better to do.
Would you two get a room?
:-)
Why should they get a room, Faker? Are you going to go all Erin Andrews stalker on them?
"Do you really want to wade through thousands of boring posts...to get to one or two by someone who has something interesting to say?
PF - apparently, people don't mind doing that at all. I've been forcing them to do so for over a year, and Hotties are still here.
This is excellent. Make sure you read all the way to the end.

Come on, SC. NSFW!

Morning folks (it's still morning on the left coast). I love it when a plan comes together. I especially love it when the plan comes together completely successfully and not one, not two but two and a half days ahead of schedule. We don't see that much of an early finish often for what I do. I may now completely goof off from lunch time today until I leave tomorrow night.
Good grief, NSFW 2010, but safe for the 1974 Glomerata?
If the zookeeper were around, she'd say, "Milecha is kidding."
Panty raid! Digger and IV, I demand a first hand account.
There needs to be more naked Auburn co-eds hanging out windows in the Glom.
The panty raid of '47. How awesome is that? Very good article, thanks for sharing ChocoScott.
More great stuff from the same site:
http://fearlessandtrue.wordpress.com/folks/
No nekkidness this time.
Don't you guys mean underpants raid
Pantaloons?
Norm, you have a panty on your head son.
(couldn't resist)
I forgot Harrison had a problem with panties.
Harrison, "panties" is just the diminutive of "pants". What should really offend you is "bloomers" (apparently, they were crotchless).
I like the word pants, makes me laugh
Harrison, my research tells me that if you create a time-machine to transport you back to sometime before 1908, you will not have to hear the word "panty" anymore. That same research tells me that the term "panty raid" was not coined until 1952. Apparently, Auburn was five years ahead of the curve.
ehyou - is round a shape?
Why is it called a "panty" raid and not a "panties" raid? Who besides the dude in "Raising Arizona" uses "panty" in singular form? Well, besides me in my last post.
perverts..that's who
Norm - I don't know, but "sometimes a circle feels like a direction"
Well, which is it Young Feller? You want I should freeze or get down on the ground? I mean to say, if'n I freeze I can't rightly drop. And if'n I drop, I'm gonna be in motion.
Why are digger and IV ignoring my demand?
they forgot already
Harry,
If you're going to make fun of the geezers, you need to speak up and write in big print.
Anyone remember Sidd Finch.
http://sportsillustrated.cnn.com/vault/article/magazine/MAG1119283/index.htm?eref=sihp
Whatever happened to Sidd Finch? He was supposed to be awesome!
Last I heard he was some kind of medicine man in the heart of Africa.
I tried to mimic his straight up delivery but all I did was break a ceiling fan and dislocate my shoulder.
I remember my roommate getting that issue of SI while I was at AU. Shortly after that, Sidd Finch visited AU and pitched batting practice to some of the Auburn players. He broke three catchers mitts.
not only is round a shape, it's a funny one
The Finch story is 8 pages? Good grief.
Could we possibly flip this thread? It has been a while since a I've seen a flipped thread.
Think I could catch a pitch from Sidd Finch in Jordan Hare Stadium with a helmet on?
Sidd Finch = Bill Brasky
New thread UPZ!
I bow. Your timing was impeccable.
I didn't know if I could get anybody or not, but I was kind of ashamed that we had gotten this far into the day without a single Hottie trying that, so had to remedy the situation.
I remember George Plimpton from Mousterpiece Theater. It's very disappointing that the Disney Channel doesn't show the classic cartoons nowadays.
SC, boobs, vintage glom or not, tend to be frowned upon at government installations. Hey, I don't make the rules. I generally never frown at boobs.
I get up at about 3 everyday. THat is just in time to catch the garbage innings of spring training baseball. I watched two innings and saw 1 name that I will see again in the next 6 months.
So the NSFW part wasn't an April Fool's joke OR exaggerated at all. Glad I opened that link on phone.
I thought the government was full of boobs.
SC, haven't you heard, the government is a walking contradiction and full of hypocrisy?
That's ridiculous michael, there are 300 million boobs in the US. How are you supposed to keep all of them off of your computer screen.
He obviously was unable to.
Well, I guess it takes one to know one (or two).
And thats just current day boobies, if we count all boobies since the beginning of time, that is elleventy billion boobs.
Speaking of boobs, there was a newscast from one of the business channels where there was a guy in the background looking at naughty photos in direct view of the cameras. It was pretty funny.
Wasn't that on some Australian network or something along those lines?
The temptations are great.
Yeah they're good, but I'm a Drifters man myself.
Pancakes bi***es.
Short people have no reason to live.
And with that I wish ya'll well I'm out for the evening.
We need more momentum to make this turn captain!
Helm....make it so.
Captain, I'm giving it all she's got.
so, is Norm taking a mid afternoon siesta, or is he wandering the Streets of San Francisco?
Norm's wife left and his business finished two days early. I suspect he's drunk in the mission.
I've decided that 83 is waaaaaaaay too hot.
By left, I mean went home. She didn't leave him leave him.
your turn, PF
How is it hotter in NC than here? Crazy!
