More Auburn-themed snippets from Sandestin
Hey everyone. The official disbursement figure, for reasons that still aren't 100% clear to me, is $17.3 million.
However, SEC teams that qualified for bowls in 2009 split an extra $14.9 million. That money is not distributed evenly.
My educated guess is that Auburn's actual take is something in the neighborhood of $18.6 million. That money is due to arrive in July.
Not bad for paying $50 in SEC dues.
* Jay Jacobs has been named to the SEC's Executive Committee, which includes seven members. He's the only athletic director on the board.
* I reported earlier that Jacobs played a central role in The Cowbell Provision going through. Here's what MSU athletic director Scott Stricklin had to say about it:

"Jay made the motion in the AD meeting of: Let's give this a shot. What do we have to lose? He's a great guy. I really appreciate him stepping up and helping for the right reasons: Let's help a league member through a situation that's challenging."

Off to Auburn!
Now that is some substance! :)
JayG is so substantive today. I dig that about him.
Thanks.
Go Cincy! Go Auburn!!!
What is the date of record for the July dividend? I.e., is it too late for me to send in my $50?
We are definitely experiencing abundant substance this week, which should help get us through the substance drought later in the summer.
GO CINCY GO!
I'm in thread heaven.
DONG for Clemson. they lead 3-1 now.
I hate that I can't devote all my attention to habotn. Real work is so annoying.
I apologize if I missed it here, but Charles Goldberg reported that Jax State's leading HR hitter has been suspended for "violating an undisclosed team rule." Don't know if that will have any impact or not. Perhaps if they could suspend the other 8 starters, I could be more certain.
Clemson now up 4-1.
LT. thanks for the updates.
"Sooouuunnnndddssss Good!"
I think the term dong or ding dongs or any combination of those words should be reserved for AU home runs.
Oh yes.
ANOTHER THREAD UPZ.
I think Jay Jacobs should have offered JGT a seat on the plane back to AU in time for the baseball game.
Hey Michael, did you ever get back this far? If so, you finally got far enough.
