Practice report, 8/20
Hey everyone. Let's get to business.

- TB signee Reggie Hunt has been declared academically ineligible. He will beging attending Copiah-Lincoln CC in northern Mississippi immediately. The plan is for him to redshirt this season, meaning he could have up to three years of eligibility at Auburn if he qualifies prior to the 2010 season.
- Coach Tommy Tuberville said TB Brad Lester returned to practice today after a week-long absence. Another TB, Tristan Davis, still is out with what Tuberville said is a hamstring injury.
- PPL (aka Philip Pierre-Louis) continues to see his stock rise. Assistant coach Eddie Gran said tonight that PPL and Ben Tate have been working as the top kickoff-return duo. Davis is a first-team guy, but he's hurt. Also, PPL is vying for punt-return duties with Robert Dunn and Chris "Sgt." Slaughter.
- Asked about the possibility of redshirting DE Raven Gray, Tuberville provided a surprising answer. ``A lot of it will depend on what (Gray) does the next three or four weeks. A.J. Greene is playing better so that gives us, with Gabe, five over there we feel pretty good about."
Interesting.

i hate the reggie didn't qualify, and i can't say that i'm surprised (waiting until after auburn classes had already started couldn't be a good sign), but at least they finally made a decision.
JT that sounds like a tuff one to call re: the radio show. I'm not in Mgy, so don't have any valid advice.
How much contol would you have regarding subjects to discuss? and can you "clear the air" on the air with him re: the past?
Something needs to be done about the NCAA taking so long to release these recruit eligibility decisions. It is not fair to the kids. Kids with academic weaknesses need to be able to get on campus (Juco or AU) early and get acclimated.
I don't care about topics.
I care about 10 years of shameless rips against the Advertiser.
There's not a whole lot of class and sportsmanship in the sprinting events of these Olympic games. The Americans, for the most part (save the clown that got disqualified from the 200 and the girl that cleary won the 100 hurdles because the beauty that is Lolo Jones tripped) did behave with class. This Bolt character will face karma like all the hotheads to in that sport.
I made a comment on the other post about radio Jay G. As far as clearing the air goes ... why? Nobody said you have to be buddies. It's business.
What would Snoop Dog do?
Snoop Dogg would burn a fatty and listen to some D.R.E.
Snoop Dogg is kind of like Mark Richt. That's about the best way to describe it.
this might be the first and only time mark richt is described as snoop dogg. i like it.
Thank you. You know how Richt rolls. Face in the camera, doing the right things. Well, shux. And my players are off hoopin' 'n hollerin' and, heck, 15 of 'em got arrested.
But that's the easy does it life of a playa. He knows whenz to sellout.

JGT, Barry McKnight is the only remotely redeemable thing about the Morning Snore on 740.
And Longsnore won't let him get a word in to ask good questions.
It'll just be more of his "douchebaggery" as you stated.
Thanks for all the good work.
Okay, a couple of observations:
1) What grade is Shane in? I could turn a better phrase, form a better paragraph, and present a more concise thought when I was in the fifth grade. Apparently that must be the reading level of the average "Capstone" viewer, because that appears to be the level at which Shane is comfortable presenting his brilliant and inspired theories to the collective sports world.
2) Why in the world is an Op-ed piece on a possible AU QB controversy the focal point of a UA blog?
In this case, SI must stand for Sh**ty Insight.
Also, Mr. Sensible - I try really hard to agree with you, but I have to say that I find McKnight to be much more than "remotely redeemable."
Just my two cents. And now that I have spent all of the money I made today, I am going to bed.
Cappie was pretty up-standing during his appearance here. I'm OK with what they're doing over at CR.
Still .. I mean, damn, why would Auburn's QB situation matter to them?
Did you see where I was getting ragged on ITAT and Rivals.com for "disparaging" Kodi Burns on the radio this morning? I said he didn't look as good as he did during the final week of the spring.
Them's the facts, peeps.
Jay the people who spend most of their time on Auburnsports.com and ITAT take any negative assesment of Auburn as a personal attack. It's the main reason i spend my time on this blog. I appreciate the honesty. We all know kodi Burns is going to be hit or miss throwing the ball. I just hope he can be a decent thrower and his running ability will make up for it.
BTW, I enjoy the interview time with the assistant coaches. There are a hundred questions I'd like to pose to Nall, Emsinger, Gran, Willis, etc. These guys have been cranking out NFL quality players year after year with amazing consistancy. I for one would like to hear more.
Keep up the good work, Jay.
I don't know for sure, but I think Cappie and Shane are different people.
Shane could at least know his facts. Like, Zow didn't play in 2002 and Ziemba would take any DL's head off if they give him a chance. Auburn has never in my lifetime had a "racial" issue in athletics. Dameyune Craig is the favorite all time QB of a lot of AU fans. The same for Jason Campbell. Any comments you read from Todd and Burns, and especially Burns, are upstanding and classy in regards to the QB "race". They're both going to play and that's that.
Now that I do video, I'm paying more attention to getting more unusual Auburn players/coaches on camera so you can see them.
Some recent examples: Steve Ensminger, Joshua Bynes, Mike Goggans.
That was interesting. Until that vid, I had no idea who Ensminger was or what he looked like. I guess he likes the low profile life? I mean, I would recognize most of the coaches in a crowd. Ensminger? If he walked up and introduced himself I still wouldn't know.
Phred,
I think Barry is awesome!
But there's only so much he can do with what he has to work with.
Doug Amos and Josh Moon have a good nooner show.
