Headed for Sylacauga
Hey everyone. It's kinda wet, but we're headed up for the big SHS-Briarwood Christian game anyway. It just occurred to me that Barrett Trotter, a 2008 BCS graduate, may be attending this game.
If I see him, I'll take a picture.
I don't know why that would matter to anyone. I'll do it anyway.
Have a good night.
(p.s.: Anyone interested in a Saturday campfire to test out our new chat equipment?)

Saturday campfire would be good after the days action on the field is over. Maybe 10:30p?
i say we show disdain for bama and schedule it during thier game vs. ole miss.
I like the idea of a campfire at the end of the day after the battles have ended.
I am also still perplexed about the timing of Franklin's firing. I didn't expect CTT to do anything like that during the season. My only guess is that CTF said something bad about someone's momma.
I am curious if the atmosphere at Auburn has settled down a bit. It seems that the coaches have settled into a new rhythm. They have a plan, good or bad, and they are going with it.
should have said "their"
disdain or not let's make it late in the game so that if bama is lossing we can laugh and if they are winning we can talk about how bad ole miss is and discuss who is worse AU or ole miss. j/k
Oh we'll get to find out who is worse. That game is coming. Hopefully we end up on top. I think we will.
Actually nice to see someone on this blog that doesn't think the sky is falling. Thanks Steve.
I'm down with a late night chat, got an extremely long list from the wife to complete tomorrow.
I did notice in a video that Jay predicted Alabama to win tomorrow. While that does bother me to some degree, can we negotiate something here. I know you are trying to predict accurately, so maybe a preface to your predictions would help, such as "Alabama sucks". You could say "Alabama sucks, but I think they will beat Ole Miss". Try it out. Give it about six games and if it doesn't work for you, we can drop it.
I say we wait until after the Bama game....that way we will all be a little "juiced" up and a little more finger loquacious.
I'm up for a campfire anytime tomorrow.
just like old-school kentucky-fried...
"finger loquacious good"
yeah after maybe even better I gotta work til noon so...after the game and after is great for me
so I posted a response to aubiz post of the fyfe blog and then Jay posted a new blog and I dont know if it got read. Well I want the HOTTIES to know where I stand so I am gonna post it again now. Dont worry I'm not gonna be one of those that post over and over again. I just kinda laid it out there on this one so for those who read it:
I sat here and read that aubiz and was ready to type yeah you people start being real fans!!!
and then:
I step back and took a look at myself aubiz and I thought "gotta listen when reason is talking." I myself have been critical and somewhat of an example to what he was talking about in that post. I havent been able to go to a game this year and I'd like to think I wouldnt be one of those booing fans but the truth is I sat in my lounger and booed when i saw todd trot back onto the field saturday(cant go to the game but I can get pay per view) so after reading that for what it's worth I was wrong. alot of people invest alot more than just a love and passion for AU they also invest cash and some invested 4 years or whatever. So I would respect to hear those boosters, alumni, or whatever it is that brings you into the AU families thoughts. I dont donate to the university, i've only been to a coupla games but the fans make me feel like part of the family..you guys and girls make me feel like there is an AU family and regardless of my status as a fan it doesnt matter. I love AU. I have been a fan for a long time but all i do is buy t-shirts, go to the occasional game, and get a pay per view. So I apologize for my occasional lack AU class. Thanks for the cool post AUbiz.consider me enlightned WAR EAGLE HOTTIES

51 seconds...
If it's tomorrow night, I'm probably in.
I have to start to seed my yard and stain my deck and fence tomorrow, so that will take up my morning and some of the afternoon.
RK ... you need a job? You are going to seed your yard, stain your deck, and stain your fence all before noon? Wow!
CTF says ... you dropped the BanHammer on me ... baby ... you dropped the BanHammer on me
you are right phred..hey rk need a job?
I love my wife.
I like and can do the campfire in the evening. Better things to talk about by waiting till about 10 or 10:30PM.
Well I plan on getting out at 8 or so in the morning.
As far as seeding the yard tomorrow, all I'm doing is spreading some lime down to get the yard ready to seed. Most of my day is staining the fence and deck, but thankfully I have a power sprayer.
It does suck to spend my weekends doing stuff like that, but I put it off until a non-Auburn game weekend.
If anyone is in the greater Chattanooga area tomorrow, stop by and I'll put you to work.
Rk, just consider this a weekend in which Auburn won. We don't play so we can't lose. I call that a win these days. I can watch other games and safely critique those teams this weekend as if my team is top notch.
Work has been busy for me this week, so I am up for the campfire ... got some catching up to do.
Here's a thought. G man, how about sending the campfire alert via twitter?
I got
AU 10
Idle 0
Phred, I'm laughing that we only scored 10 on idle. We really suck!
I've got
Auburn 7
Idle 5
I mean, Idle just sitd there. Doesn't move at all. We can only score 10 pts on Idle.
We really are that bad aren't we?
we get stopped at the goal line twice and miss three field goals.
Actually, had I been thinking more clearly I would have predicted
AU 2
Idle 0
I have a suspicion that tells me Ole Miss upsets Bama tomorrow. And we're so far out of it I really won't have a hernia if Bama wins. But I think Ole Miss presents the best front 7 Bama's seen. And they'll attack Wilson early and often. He's the key. Rattle him and he may as well put your jersey on.
On offense, Ole Miss has a few guys that are really, really good. Athletes. We don't have guys like that. And Snead if the kind of QB that spreads the ball around. Very methodical.
I'm hoping for a loss. I bet a friend of mine a Franklin that Bama wouldn't win more than seven games. Ain't lookin' good.
I thought they would win 10 because they've been doing it every 3rd year. The years in between are bad but they have been squeezing out 10 every third.
Pretty much every year they have a senior starting QB they win 10.
Phred..what is the strength of Franklins relative to other currencies? I hear it has realy fluctuated with the offense / economy hitting the tank.
According to a recent study of my bank account, a Franklin is still worth $100. Losing a bet for $100 will result in a net loss of $100, taking into account the devalued Yen, while considering the inflated saturation of the Euro in the "I'm a dumbass for making that bet" market.
BTW, there were some earlier posts citing health issues as a possible reaons for a CTT retirement. I don't buy that. Particulary if the "health reasons" are orthapedic ones, like spinal fusions, etc.
I have broken my femur in seven places, my hip, both arms, severed ACL, and crushed three vertebrea, which are now fused. All of these incidents required major surgery. It hurts like hell all the time, but so? I am walking, talking proof that mind over matter works.
My point is this: I think CTT is a WHOLE lot tougher than that, and if "health" is brought up as a reason, it will be used only as a nice, neat PR excuse.
I am not sure why I felt the need to post this.
Phred - May not be all health issues but I can tell you that if I were a stiff neck 56 year old multi-millionaire, it would be tough for me to spend my summers kissing the butts of 18 year old pre-madonnas.
That could very well be true, but my hunch is that he doesn't dwell on it that much. My gut says it rarely crosses his mind in a distacting way.
I could be wrong. Jay Geezy - do you hear him or anybody else talk about that much?
I don't know either but my gut tells me that after 15 or so years, Tubs may be ready to ease his way out. The question is, how will the poker hands play out. $6 Million dollars is a lot of money to anyone and I think it will have a lot to do with how this thing plays out between now and the end of the season.
I don't really think CTT is going anywhere. I expect to see improvement offensively. If WV and Ole Miss dominate us, CTT should update his resume. If UT Martin upsets us, CTT should not bother to head to the locker room after the game. He should just head to his office, pack as quickly as possible, and leave town. That being said, I don't think those scenarios will happen. We could loose to WV or Ole Miss, but I doubt the offense will look as bad as it has. My guess is that we win the next three. UGA looks beatable if we have an offense at the point, but somehow I don't see it. As for Bama, I can't guess what the teams will look like at that point. You can typically count on Bama making adjustments near the end of October that allow them to have a very unique November. I trust that will occur again this season.
I love the idea of a "pre-madonna". Is that like Teri Nunn of Berlin? The Deborah Harry of Blondie? Or Diana Ross?
I know Tuberville's neck is a daily issue for him. I don't think it's something that would preclude him for work; he's been dealing with it a long time.
Sylacauge got waxed by Briarwood, 42-13. Ouch. Barrett Trotter was there cheering his alma mater.
I'll have a report on the trip tomorrow.
Phred, great idea on Twittering the campfire notification. I'll do that.
I would hate to see him go, but I have a feeling he is leaving this year. There are several 'rumors' that the buy out is almost done. I always felt he would be here until 2012, but something tells me this is it.
Jay:
If I want to email you a question, where would I send it?
I play for Briarwood. And yes Barrett was there

Not gonna be near a TV today, and Bama/Ole Miss is not on espn360.com... on the other hand, I'm happy that I will have access to espn360.com today, since I don't have it at home. Just thought I'd share.
What are the "must see" games today? I haven't been keeping up much this week.
