Hey everyone. Welcome to Beard-Eaves Memorial Coliseum for tonight's epic battle between your Auburn Tigers and the Rebels of Ole Miss.
- HABOTN Player of the Game
C Korvotney Barber -- 13 points, 13 rebounds in 34 minutes - FINAL
Auburn 77, Ole Miss 64. - FOURTH TO @ 3:45, 2nd half
Auburn leads, 70-57. - THIRD TO @ 7:41, 2nd half
Auburn leads, 59-45. The Tigers are doing everything right on defense at the moment. They're rebounding. They're confounding the Rebels with some type of matchup zone deal. Ole Miss has gone scoreless on 10 consecutive possessions. - SECOND TO @ 11:41, 2nd half
Auburn leads, 49-45. So Auburn is on a run early in the period. Then Speed Reed comes along, takes a few weak shots and now the rally is over. Ole Miss still is rebounding well. Not doing much else well. - FIRST TO @ 14:58, 2nd half
Auburn leads, 47-43. The Tigers opened on a 9-0 run. They're scoreless in three possessions since then. - Thanks to "wtc" for stopping by to say hello at halftime.
Bo Jackson is here. Proof: - HALFTIME
Ole Miss leads, 40-36. - FOURTH TO @ 3:34, 1st half
Ole Miss leads, 32-25. Auburn now 1-for-12 from the perimeter. More interesting is the apparent decision to let Barber, a relatively poor passer, act as the offensive hub right now. They're dumping into him. As Ole Miss swarms him, Jeff Lebo is asking Barber to make the right pass out of the double team. It's not happening very often. - THIRD TO @ 6:54, 1st half
Ole Miss leads, 26-23. Auburn currently is 1-for-9 from the perimeter. Maybe it's time to consider other options. The Tigers are rebounding, though. They're staying (almost) even because of put-backs and other second-effort deeds. - SECOND TO @ 11:49, 1st half
Ole Miss leads, 19-16. I get the sense, without looking at statistics, that Ole Miss is not a very good defensive team. I've seen them miss several switches in the nine minutes so far. Auburn has been getting lovely looks. - FIRST TO @ 15:15, 1st half
Ole Miss leads, 14-10. Ole Miss' point guard, freshman Terrico White, already has seven points and two assists. He's the guy who went off for 19 the last time these two teams played. I guess Jeff Lebo hasn't quite figured out how to stop the kid. - YOUR AUBURN STARTERS
PG -- Speed Reed of Houston, Texas
SG -- Tez Robertson of Cincinnati, Ohio
"SF" -- Tay (With A Tray) Waller of middle Georgia, USA
F -- Rasheem Barrett of suburban Atlanta
C -- Korvotney Barber of middle Georgia - Vincent Jackson, a former Auburn tailback, is here tonight. I'll try to get a picture of of him.
- This is sooooo not a "white out." This is the worst SEC crowd of the season without a doubt.

Anyone headed to the Starvegas this weekend for the game?
good day
Depressed, I couldn't agree more. I know he had huge shoes to fill, but Rod Bramlett has never knocked my socks off. Having said that, Sen. Jetarsky would probably have to lay off the brown water to be able to call the games.
I long ago swore off brown water.
He says in his best job interview voice.
I am not a candidate for any other job ... I am just going duck hunting with friends in Arkansas.
I didn't see a "no" in that statement. Jet for play-by-play, Quentin for AD, Rod and Jay sweeping stadium clean at 3 AM on Sunday mornings.
Eddie:
I've heard the same things you mention about Bo....
We have our jerks on our side too. (Hello Lee Roy Jordan). Eli Gold thinks he is Alabama football for some reason. I ran into him in the Nashville Airport once. Jerk.
On the positive note I've heard that Tiger is actually one of the most popular guys on tour amongst the players whereas Phil is a royal jerk.
The ones I have been most pleased to meet are Bart Starr and Pat Sullivan who in my mind are two of the nicest folks you could ever meet. Pat was even nice after finding out I was a Bama grad. Gene Stallings has also been nice every time I've been around him. I do know a former trainer at Alabama that doesn't share my same thoughts on him.
For some reason I think that Coach Dye would be great to have a drink with. Seems like a nice man.
I know for a fact that Chi Chi Rodriguez and Lee Trevino are frauds. They are only nice when the cameras are around. Tom Kite is a whiny little brat as is Hale Irwin.
Jack Nicklaus was very patient signing autographs at Shoal Creek in 1990. Arnold Palmer was the easiest autograph I ever got.
Jay G,
Do we have an agenda for the day? So far, all we've come up with hottie rumble in the jungle.
Pat Dye would be fun to have a drink around. Not sure I'd actually want to be anything more than a fly on the wall in that situation...and once Harper Lee shows up and pants come off, I'm out.
Although it pains me to say this, Gene Stallings is one of the finest men I've ever had the privilege of meeting. A good friend of mine in MS had a son born with Down's. Mark was an MSU grad, with no ties to UAT. A week after his son was born, Mark received a phone call from Coach Stallings out of the blue. Two weeks after that, he was in Mark's living room visiting the family. Awesome human being...
Let's not talk about Coach Stallings, I might have to something nice about him.
As for Coach Dye, I love that man. Warts and all.
Arnold Palmer is America's greatest sportsman. Not athlete. Not performer. Sportsman. Class personified.
Dye is probably the only guy on earth that can move easily within both Alabama and Auburn circles.
I would venture to guess that he has as many friends in the football administration at Alabama (Hello Mal Moore) as he does at Auburn.
To me he is Auburn's greatest coach.
FSJ ...
To anyone to argue otherwise regarding Auburn's greatest coach is pure folly.
I love Coach Jordan, but Coach Dye averaged 1.25 wins per year and won three more SEC titles in half the time.
Both took over our program when it was in the dumper, but Coach Dye's work sustained it.
Tuberville did a lot of good, but let's face it, Dye's foundation gave him the opportunity to succeed.
Jet:
The interesting thing is that if Auburn had hired Dooley (which I think was their first choice).....
I would just about bet that Dye would have been the Alabama coach after Bryant. I've talked to a few late 50's/early 60's era players that say the same thing.
Pat Dye is a great man, and I'd love to go hunting with him. Gene Stallings too is a great man and he got shafted. The last time I enjoyed listening (actually watched via video stream) the PF show was around a year ago when both were guests. That was truly great radio.
PF - why do we need an agenda? Things seem to be moving along rather well. It's like Motor City Madman says a "Free for All". We've learned Sen. Jet apparently wants to bash you over the head with a chair and despite his statements to the contrary is a drunk. Good stuff I say.
That is unless UGA had hired him instead....but I bet they would have hired Dooley's DC at the time as his replacement. Wasn't his name Russell?
Looking back, we probably should have waited until after the playoffs in 1983 and hired Stallings. But Joab Thomas was in a rush and Gene wouldn't leave before the end of the year. Finebaum wrote a great piece on this very topic on the eve of the 93 Sugar Bowl. Stallings was convinced he'd be the choice.
FSJ ...
I concur.
GaTiger,
I do not concur. I wouldn't hit PF until I had hit 4 or 5 others. As for the other part, I am long since retired.
Jet, I triple dog dare you to name to 4 or 5 others.
Despite your faux pas in violating by skipping to the triple-dog dare, I accept it.
1. FSJ, for crying out loud, he's a Bammer
2. You, for being you.
3. J-Z because of his Scrabble non-sense
4. Michael, just to see if disintegrates when you hit him.
5. And you again, if you are still moving.
Big Debate at the State Senate:
Who's gonna win? Ider vs. Cold Springs in the high school basketball tournament.
Sen. Lowell Barron and Sen. Zeb Little about to throw down.
Jet - believe it or not, I silently predicted your list would look astonishingly similar to this. The primary difference perhaps being #5.
I'm not surprised, GaTiger, you've always been a wily guy.
dang. i'm the first legitimate hit on that list.
To be honest, PF, you'd be WAAYY down the list. Beyond that, I'll keep my own counsel. I've responded to the only triple dog dare that I will today.
Jet was not part of the dozen I was expecting. Make it a bakers dozen.
Back to a dozen. Baker's dozen always annoyed me anyway.
Jet - anything you can do to foster/encourage/promote more fisticuffs on the Senate floor of my former home state would be appreciated.
PF ... unless it's KrispyKreme. I'd rather eat 13 glazed than 12.
Doing teleconferences with Nell and Jeffrey Lebo. Should I parlay them in a thread? Oh yes I can!
"You can doooo it!"
Yes! Yes!
Get us out of this mess!
I'd take a baker's dozen from Culpepper's Bakery. I haven't been there in almost 15 years, but I remember, growing up, that they were the best doughnuts ever.
can you three way the hotties into the teleconference? I'd like to hear it. ;-)
It's hardly scintillating, Peter!
Frankenbummer, that "three way the hotties" line probably just sent off red flags her eat work. Thanks a lot.
FSJ - does Namath's habit of hitting on sideline reporters make him one of the jerks, or does it make him one of the nice guys of Alabama lore?
Erk Russell.
Michael,
From what I understand, Namath likes all women.
Now this is totally OT:
I just read a story about Val Kilmer considering a run for governor of New Mexico. That's not the weird thing. The weird thing is the way he looks. WTH happened to him?
Erk was a bad mother..shut yo mouth.
FSJ ...
I hear Tom Cruise may run, forcing Val to run for Lt. Gov.
more so than those words being repeated with the words "her eat" added to it (also, Freudian typo?).
Heck..I didn't know Erk was an Auburn grad....
He was a bad mofo. The last four sport letterman in school history.
What typo??? I stand by my statement!
Yep, FSJ. They don't make 'em like that anymore.
FSJ, I read the article about Val Kilmer last week. I thought the same thing as you! LOL
Luv...
My first thought was "That is Iceman?".....
Which really tells my age.
Please forgive Val's current appearance. He is preparing for the role of a washed up actor.
new thread's up
michael, he isn't that already??
old thread down?
