Schedule update

Hey everyone. Glad to see the cable vs. DirecTV vs. Dish Network debate raging. I have strong opinions. You know them.

TODAY: Players will be available around 4 p.m. I'm aiming to get a Players Report (I guess you'd call it that) around 5:30 p.m. Maybe a video after that. Practice commences at 7 p.m. I'll be around for that, too.

In other words, I'll probably be updating into the wee hours. If you don't stay up late, just come check us out in the morning.

Only six days until 4/20 ...

Preach on. Coach Dye is our Moses.

Then who is Chizik?

Jephthah? and if so, what represents his rash decision?

3:13 PM
Blogger Jet said...

Sensi ...

The underdog that Chizik is made out to be ... perhaps he's David.

As wise as Trooper has shown to be, perhaps he's Solomon.

It remains to be seen.

Anybody on HABOTN live near Guntersville?

If so, how is everyone doing up there after the recent tornado?

I saw a picture someone took of it from on top of the mountain. That would have scared the Shula out of me.

One more Dye memory, and I'll be quiet. The home and home AU/Bama series we know today would not exist were it not for the efforts of Patrick Fain Dye. Ray perkins said it would never happen. Bama "spokesmen" said they would simply refuse to play Auburn anymore. Dye said it was Auburn's home game and it would be Auburn's choice where our home game was to be played. The most memorable experience of my AU fandom was the 89 Bama game. That day, Pat Dye proved that Auburn was equal to the Evil Empire.

Job.

ehyou, as long as it was a game Auburn won, right?

All I know about that game was that it was the first one they played in Auburn.

Very good, Jet.

I agree.

Bowden was Rehoboam which I realize breaks the timeline, but is apropos.

Monica, like you said, Mr. U either wants you bad or he's like Sam and the only remarks he as for women are disparaging ones.

i remember everyone being on edge, anticipating some sort of brawl between the fans of each school. as it turned out, removing the game from legion field weeded out the sort of troublemakers one would have expected and everything was copacetic. and we WON!

3:38 PM
Blogger Jet said...

Bowden could be Rehoboam or Jeroboam.

3:39 PM
Blogger AUfan said...

Luv, Alabama had insisted for years that the game would be played at Legion Field or nowhere. Coach Dye said they could play their home game wherever they wished, but AU was moving their home game in the series to Auburn. The emotion present that day made it clear it was about more than just a ball game. It was about respect for the AU football program.

Wow, as much excitement that has surrounded the games that I've been to (esp. all the FL games), I bet they pale in comparison to that game.

Welcome to AU Theology 101 ...

Hiring Coach Dye was the equivalent of placing the blood on the doorposts.

Coach Dye getting that game in Jordan-Hare was the parting of the Red Sea.

The violence with which the shakers were shaken by the Auburn Family created an orange/blue/purple haze that preceded the Red Sea closing back over the Egyptian infidels of UAT.

With Bowden, we did all right at the beginning but then we wandered in the wilderness for a few years because of his arrogance.

Wow a meeting goes by and nowI come back and read through the posts, I guess I've been officially indoctrinated back into football mode. Gotta love the AU family. Especially the Hotties.

Faker, I don't care why you should love Alabama, just why the fans, in general, think the program is God's gift, they're two completely seperate issues.

Capt. Jet et al.

Even facing the possibility of a swift Banhammering, I would like to file a formal complaint in HABOTN court against Hamburger King. I was very much looking forward to the deluxe cheeseburger you suggested I order for my first experience at this fine establishment. I went there feeling good after my job interview went well only to find it was closed and a "Gone Fishing" sign on the front door. If they are, in fact, to be considered the official hamburger of the HABOTN, should they not apprise Hotties of non-holiday closings such as the one I experienced today? I will, however, give them another chance. The place looked too run down and dirty to not have some damn fine eats!

I will have to check back later for your response.
The "Gone Fishing" sign was classic!

Motion DENIED.

You're going to attempt to prevent a small business owner the opportunity to fishin' on a spring day. I don't think so.

Catch 'em next time.

I understand your frustration with missing a visit to the King. I hope your interview went well. If it did, perhaps there will be many more visits in the future. By the way, that place is the Ritz compared to its previous location.

yes. montgomery would be part of my territory and now i know where it is. are they open on saturdays? i will make another attempt going to or returning from a-day if i am able to make it.

frustration does not begin to describe it! i had been looking forward to it since last week. i had to settle for the DQ at stuckey's on I-65 since DQ has virtually vacated mobile. it sucked.

Blogger Jet said...

Sorry Chip (squared) ... just weekdays for the King, and they usually know when the state isn't working (like on the 27th) and they are a threat to shut the doors then, too.

We'll get you set up on acceptable eats in the Gump.

You folks don't give Bowden enough credit. He may have been the best coach in Auburn history. Unfortunately, he was also the worst. It really depends upon what season you look at.
