Smoothie - I had listened to rivals this morning and Seastrunk was mentioned. The discussion was that he has been to TX 3 times in the last 6 weeks. That LSU is most likely the favorite but TX is making a strong push. And that you would hear Auburn mentioned but it will be him playing his cards.

Housel still does a pre-game Auburn history segment on the football broadcasts, and Jay G. has his voice and phrasings down.

I've never spent a lot of time in B-ham or Montgomery, but all I remember about B-ham is that the area around Legion Field was terrible when the Iron Bowl was still there every year.

Monica,

You bring up a good point. And it is everything wrong with "media" today. Too much influence on what moves a meter or a needle instead of solid content. That's how shows like this (I actually tuned in to see what the hubbub was) and Finebaum survive and thrive.

I think Jay G. is older than his time. I remember talking to old school (like from the 40s-50s era) reporters who covered beats they cared very little about. I think that's what makes his coverage worth following - Jay G. doesn't care about Auburn football or really American football. That kind of detached objectivity can make for compelling coverage.

I do agree with Kelvin, though. This game is not a big deal nationally and circumstances are such that I don't think it will be again.

Just my opinion.
