Furlough, Pt. II: Day Six (Friday)
Hey everyone. Thursday was the craziest weather day I've seen during my 10-year stay in Montgomery. We received 10+ inches of rain in less than six hours. Streets flooded. Cars floating away. Houses wet.
It sucked.
I hope you Gumpians fared reasonably well. Still can't believe how that whole thing went down. The rain wouldn't stop!
Auburn? I'll do my best to recap on Sunday and into next week. I'm on a mandated, unpaid furlough and I can't work. This blog entry was pre-loaded last weekend.
Yes, I correctly predicted flash food conditions six days in advance. Rich Thomas had better watch his back.

Is it august?
Great job on the flood prediction.. any thoughts on the powerball numbers you would like to share??
From the last thread...
A few more thoughts on the Chizik speech last night...
There was a little coach speak going on, but on the whole, I think Chizik gets what Auburn is about, both on a football level and on a "Auburn means something special, we're different" level. I fully expect to see a very motivated team next fall. We'll still be a 7-8 win ball team, but there will be no question that the team left everything out on the field after every game. So we've got that going for us...
He also commented on sitting down with the players one on one and explaining to them what standards they were going to be held to both on and off the field, and that the standard would not be lowered to meet the players, the player would have to rise to the standard. Coach said some players didn't buy into that, and they aren't there any longer. Any ideas who he was talking about?
Oh yeah....120 days til kickoff.
Jay G. made Rich Thomas his B. Awesome!
Just wait a minute... nah, couldn't be. I had a crazy theory about the validity of the preloadedness of these posts, but it was just craziness. Move along.
preloadedness, that's a good word. I hope one day I can use it in a sentence.
j-z thanks for your Chizik report
Dear Leader - I know all is right with the world when you're on top.
um, I meant when you are the first to post.
Here on random Friday, I have a question.
What do you all think of the Kevin Costner film WaterWorld?
your powers are amamzing. worthy of a state resolution.
Saw them filming Waterworld at the Big Island, if that's what you call seeing the set from our hotel room about a mile down the beach. That's all I've seen of it.
Jimmy Buffett gets naming rights to Dolphins football stadium
Landshark Stadium
No, but I cried when I watched "Message in a Bottle." I mean, I think "Bull Durham" was a good baseball movie.
You can take Kevin Costner films,
look at the titles, and just think how "porn" most of them sound.
Think about it.
No Way Out
Bull Durham
For Love of the Game
Waterworld
Field of Dreams
Swing Vote
Hope I have ruined Costner for all of you now.
How could you leave The Postman off of THAT list?
wasn't much to ruin. I haven't seen a Costner film since The Untouchables (1987)
Water World wasn't bad..haven't seen it in about 2 or 3 years tho..not worth adding to my movie collection...I don't think I have one Costner film..I better go get field of dreams and remedy that..
THT-ohh untouchables that is a good one..
Sensi- You left out Tin Cup.
Kevin Costner is one of the worst actors I have ever seen.
Costner ain't that bad I guess..I also like Robin Hood...
Keep adding to it.
I meant to post that at the end of my list.
Here's another one from me:
Dances with Wolves
Other Costner Flicks:
Message in a Bottle
The Bodyguard
Open Range
A Perfect World
And soon to be released films:
The Company Men
The New Daughter.
I think Sensi is on to something here.
ok so far on my cosnter movie list..untouchables..field of dreams..dancing with wolves..robin hood
I am developing Favre-lash from all this stuff with him.
I wish he would come back and suffer a Joe Theisman so he would go away and chill with his $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$ in Mississippi.
I agree with you Sensi. I cannot stand Favre at this point. Time to move on, but if he comes back...again, I would love to see it fail greatly. I would hope Green Bay would hand it to him twice.
I uses to admire Farve but now he's just a joke..somebody said he's just out to stick it to Green Bay..what a goob..go away!!! for of all that is good and holy..GO AWAY!!
my sentiments exactly eddie
In Favre's defense: how many newspaper articles has he written, and how many sportscenter pieces has he produced? The guy is having a hard time letting go, which is understandable. I would also have a hard time retiring at age 40. He can do whatever he wants to for all I care. Don't blame Favre, blame the people obsessed with him for this over-coverage.
J-z, my guess as to who Chiz was talking about that is no longer around includes Chris Slaughter, Trey Blackmon, and a reserve offensive linemen or two.
To me, it isn't something to get upset about. When a new coaching staff arrives, I would prefer for the to get rid of any players that don't buy into the new way of doing things, and it doesn't really matter how many of those there are. If only 20 players remain, that is fine, just make sure they are 20 that buy into the program.
I'm kind of tired of hearing about Favre, too, but I could still enjoy watching him play, unlike when some other players held on too long. He still has a decent amount of ability left. There's still the chance to see a great play or a train wreck.
It is about time for Favre to move on to greener pastures. He should find a different interest, like coaching or something. Hey, maybe he could find an institure to investigate the spelling of his name and see if there is a cure that will allow the v to pass the r.
I understand where you are coming from, but I would be pretty annoyed if people told me it was time to retire and I didn't think so. I don't buy into the whole "it will screw up his legacy" crap. Show me one instance of a person whose legacy was screwed up by holding on too long? Athletes do it all the time, no big whoop.
how about George Blanda?
nope, didn't screw up his legacy
how bout Gordie Howe?
nope didn't screw up his legacy
Tommy Tuberville?
(shot across the bow)
You know, I think it is more of a selfish thing on the part of some fans. Some people don't want to see their hero not perform at an elite level or get humiliated, so they want them to quit before that happens. Well, for many competitors, it takes being humiliated a few times before they can be at peace with quitting. Let it happen and don't complain.
Farve has had 2 farewell tours....that's one too many.
Even the folks in So Miss that peviously worshipped him are gettin' tired of his indecisisveness.
JGT = Clairvoyant Preloadedness
j-z - I think you may have answered correctly.
Costner misheard The Voice. It didn't say "If you film it, they will come."
Godd morning Hotties
JGT glad to see you got up early and pushed the reset button, did you get your practice from LOST J/K, we will be glad when you get back.
THT I lived in Winston Salem way back in 74 and 75. The BBQ around there really wasn't very good
JZ just simply THANKS.
J-Z ...
You offered this nugget within a sentence, "... I think Chizik gets what Auburn is about, both on a football level and on a 'Auburn means something special, we're different' level."
That, for all the screaming last December, is why he's here. He gets it. He gets us. He gets the good, the bad and the ugly and embraces it all.
No one else who interviewed for the job "got it," and to me that's an important component for whomever our coach will be.
I thought, of course, it would be Muschamp, who also "gets it," but that didn't happen -- maybe it could have, maybe it never would have. That doesn't really matter now.
I love everything I've seen from our coach to this point. He made his staff the priority -- taking less money to pay more to the troops and to Troop. He's been innovative without losing our identity or our dignity.
Does this translate into wins? The fact is, if we have a winning season, I'll be pleased. But I see his vision. It meshes nicely with mine -- not that matters to anyone other than me. I think he's got a good chance to be much more than a 5-19 coach. A whole lot more.
Another nugget...I don't know if any of you guys have ever been in the same room with CGC, but he has the most intense gaze of any man I have ever laid eyes on. Take the 1000 yard stare of an experienced army sniper and multiply it by 10. I don't know if he gets that from his dad or where, but he's got it.
No doubt in my mind that he's the first coach at AU since one Patrick Fain Dye with this kind of mental toughness and determination.
(And I fully expect a good representation from the Hotties at the AAC meeting on May 28th at the Legends. Trooper Taylor is scheduled to speak there.)
Michael - Totally agree with you on Kevin Kostner and Daniel Hood.
double serving of fried catfish... I'm in heaven!
tht ...
Have a bite for me ... put some hot sauce on it!
I just caught something in the preload that could lead to a very inappropriate statement, but since I am disciplined and tasteful, I will easily resist.
digger - thanks for the follow-up
when I lived in W-S (late 60s, again in early 80s) I ate BBQ at Mr. Barbecue on Peters Creek Pkwy. It was good, but not outstanding. There are a lot of great BBQ places in this state, but the closest to me now is 35 miles away. None of the local BBQ joints are worthy.
it's all gone, Jet. I'm now attacking the obligatory salad (loaded with bacon bits) which is eaten solely for the purpose of lessening the guilt of all that fried catfish.
I agree with you 100% on CGC, Jet. Well said.
Mon, thanks for the compliment last night! BTW, does the shirt shrink at all? It fits perfectly right now and I don't want to mess it up.
Thank you for your nuggets, JZ. Good reporting.
Prowler- do like I do and just hang dry all your shirts. don't have to worry about shrinkage.
THT...
We do the same thing. The only thing that go in the dryer are towels and the like.
don't you get shoulder nipples then, THT?
That is the first time I ever read "shoulder nipples"
L
M
A
O
SNORT!!!!!!!!
"shoulder nipples" my my my
Our shirts didn't shrink in the dryer.
shoulder nipples = the bumps on the shoulder area of your shirt after hanging it to dry =)
What's all this talk about washing and drying clothes? Doesn't everyone have 'people' to tend to and worry about such tasks?
One day, my friend...one day.
Lunch time! Talk to you Hotties later!
I finally found some good B'ham BBQ. I just polished off pulled pork, fried okra, and baked beans from Tin Roof BBQ. If Ted Roof is as good as Tin Roof, we are going to have an excellent defense!
Oh, I know what they are...just never heard them called shoulder nipples.
nope, no shoulder nipples, but plenty of man boobs, unrelated to the shirts. MrsTHT irons all shirts, even t-shirts. I'm not that domestic. I have burned a few shirts. MrsTHT doesn't trust me with an iron or with a knife.
I got a resolution passed yesterday in all the hullabaloo of the flood that designates weekdays from 12:45 p.m. to 1:45 p.m. during the months of January-July as "Nap Time for Hotties."
You cannot be disciplined, terminated, or compelled to wake up by your employer.*
Enjoy.
* - Unless they want to discipline you, terminate you, or compel you to awaken.
AU1 - big BIG game tonight
the gifts just keep on coming
HUGE!!!
I submit there is no "big BIG" or "HUGE" game that does not involve, nor impact Auburn University athletics.
Thank you.
Seconded. Any other games are just interesting diversions.
Jet don't leave a boy hanging, I'm interested in the email promised earlier. Can't get enough A.H.
I object due to the fact that I do not reside in AL and that no large impact Auburn sporting event, even recruiting, is occurring during the Capitals/Penguins playoff series.
Or...I ask for an amendment to include this particular issue at hand.
Sorry, GaTiger ... I'll get right on it.
When Jay G gets back on here, I'd sure love to get his take of the Jason Whitlock vs. Selena Roberts smackdown.
State resolutions do not affect out of state residence, but if you are a hottie it would be wise to listen and adhere.
Hsquared (Hotties for Hockey) do hereby declare tonight's game and tomorrow night's game to be big BIG HUGE games. And that's just the Pens and Caps. Hurricanes also have really BIG game tonight.
Did Digger just tell me to hush in a non-descript way?
Not really just listen to ole Jet he will keep you on the straight and narrow
THT ...
As Hottie who enjoys hockey, I assert there's only been two huge games in the history of the sport -- the medal round games from the 1980 Olympics.
Yes, Jet, those were perhaps the hugest. But there are different levels of huge, and games this weekend are at least a small amount of huge
Anybody remember the single
"you'll love again" by Hotel, a Bham band from the late 70s?
I just found the 45. Now all I have to do is find someone to turn it into a digital file.
I still can't believe there is a professional organized hockey league playing games. I thought we had rid ourselves of that Canadian sport.
I'm guessing there are still some curlers hanging around
THT/Doc - I definitely remember Hotel and I'm pretty sure they performed at a number of our highschool events (as did Sailor a very good 'gump band). I can't recall that song in particular though goshdarnit.
Hotel did a "free" concert in the old Student Act. bldg c1978. They played the few songs they had written and a bunch of other songs, I think some good Skynyrd was included.
Hotel, the band
Re: Hotel
I sent email to Tommy Calton about 2 years ago, he told me to contact Marc Phillips. Marc never replied to my spam...er my email.
It's not an incredible song, just one that reminds me of good ol' college days. I'm real happy I finally found it, even if I haven't figured out yet how I'll listen to it.
Sailor
Chevy 6
Eli
The Extras
Mel and the Party Hats
Oh ...
Remember this ...
You haven't shaken yo fanny 'til you shaken it with Poo Nanny!
Hi, I'm Joe Poonanny and this is my band Poonanny.
Remember their signature takeoff of "Be Young, Be Foolish"?
No, but it caused me to think of Mother's Finest.
I had to get here real early today. Guess what? I get to leave in 10 minutes! Woo hoo!
Suffice to say that the Poonanny version of that song's lyrics are not suitable for this forum.
Anybody remember the band "Baghdad" that used to play around AU frequently in the mid-80's? I'm guessing their name wouldn't have gone over so well in later years.
Scott ...
i was racking my brain for the name of Baghdad, as on one particular night I somehow ended up on stage with them.
Baghdad does evoke a very hazy recollection. I seem to recall they weren't quite as big/popular as some of the others making the circuit along the lines of Eli, White Animals, Poonanny (more of a frat house party band I think), etc.
Baghdad had the black guy who would come running out and take over as lead singer about midway through one of their sets. He sang Hendrix tunes, among others. Everybody would go nuts when he came out.
I absolutely wound up on stage w/Poonanny singing the aformentioned "Be Young, Be Foolish" song. I don't recall that going over too well and it had nothing to do with my singing ability or lack thereof.
White Animals - wow. Yeah, they were big when I was there.
I believe the Bagdad singer was Bo Scott.
White Animals had a part in the play of my first and last blind date.
Jet - Hot Rocket was part of my last blind date. As I recall, I believe you were in the vicinity too. Party on Fernway Dr. ring any bells?
Fernway Drive ... is that where the Red Sox play?
Never heard of it.
Alright then. Maybe you weren't there. It was quite the scene. Hundreds of folks from our place as well as MA, TPS, JD... You were probably at home watching Knight Rider.
Love Boat and Fantasy Island.
I never did social engagements, GaTiger.
Damn...I had forgotten all about PooNanny, and Eli for that matter. I was force fed many many shots of tequila by whatever their midget lead singers name was. Let's see...there was also Klass...(with a capital K), and a host of other bands whose name I can't remember for some reason.
Good times.
I think.
Eli lead singer was "Cookie" the Billy Idol wannabe. Klass I remember rather well, for a band made up largely of rich jocks they turned out to be a pretty decent band. And boy could they move some furniture...
I still have a "Rock with Klass" button! Weren't the Bonnevilles and Mr. Resistor also somewhere in the same time frame? I went back to visit my brother at AU some in the early 90's, so I could be confused. Also, Vova Nova started playing there in the late 80's, I think.
Anyone watching TGIF tonight? New episodes of Family Matters and Step by Step.
Chocolate - I don't remember any of those names.
Boxhead - I'm watching my DVR'd episode of Canadian Parliament tonight after the family goes to bed.
Michael, if your parents will let you stay up till 11:30, there's this new guy named David Letterman who comes on after Johnny Carson.
Watching DVR'd shows of ...
Big Bang Bang Bang
How I Met Yo Mama
2.5 Men
The Mentalist
If I watch TV at all. I'm tired. I may go to bed shortly after sunset.
Mr. Resistor was there mid to late 80's...I still have their cassette somewhere. The Bonnevilles I remember, but it's very hazy. There was also Ebb Arnold and the Friction Pigs, but they didn't play many frat parties.
I will actually be watching DVR'd Scrubs and Better Off Ted. But before it starts, I will sing, "It's Friday night, and the mood is right! Gonna have some fun, show you how it's done, T G I F!"
Jet - these days just remembering partying makes you tired, huh? That or retrieving your floating possessions. Was everything okay when you went home yesterday?
Everything was fine at the Hangar ... flipped a breaker or two ... and we were back on line.
Just been a busy couple of weeks with the impending graduation business at the house.
And we've got big hooha at the house next weekend in advance of the graduation. Gotta lot do, and it makes me tired thinking about it.
Okay, j-z, now you've come up with one I don't remember...Ebb Arnold? One last bit of AU 80's nostalgia, then I'll give it up. I remember Dickey Betts playing at the TKE house and really being bummed because I was going to be out of town. I always wondered what it cost them to get him. I think it was during one of his many splits with the Allman Bros., so he probably wasn't very much in demand.
Jet - glad it wasn't too bad. My parents came out okay in P'ville, too. Hang in there. In the hangar, there, I mean.
It's Puppet Hour. Do you know where your children are at?
Hopefully at my mother's by now. I need some adult beverages in a bad way.
my children are right here in the same room. they are too old to still be in this house, but they haven't figured that out yet
Michael, I was going to be singing Saturday Night's Alright for Fighting, then I realized it's still Friday. Maybe I'll wear the Hockey Song
wear??? I meant sing. I think I'm about to go flatline.
1 amp of Diet Coke, STAT!!! Clear!!!
Williamsburg, Virginia for a bball tourney here

The best way to get children out of the house is to frame them for a crime. That way they have to live in prison for awhile. There are a lot of life lessons they can learn in prison, you know.
that's a great song by Warren Zevon, with backup vocals provided by none other than David Letterman. They recorded the song with Paul Shafer et al in the Ed Sullivan Theater.
Michael, that is GREAT advice! You won't believe how close I came to trying that today.
jhag - is there any part of the country you aren't playing bball in?
did I kill the puppets, or just the puppet hour?
Jason and the Scorchers were supposed to play outside at the Lambda Chi house in '87, but it rained. The Bonnevilles were the opening act, so they moved their stuff inside and rocked the house. They were a fantastic band!
I think Jason and the Scorchers came back a couple of months later to make up the show
Okay. I said I was done reminiscing, but Aubie brought up Jason & the Scorchers. I won one of their albums from WEGL by knowing Jason's last name. It was right before a show they were going to play in Auburn - wonder if it was that one? By the way, for you whippersnappers, radio trivia was a bit tougher in the pre-interwebs days.
Ringenburg...Love me some Jason & The Scorchers. I was all about the Cowpunk back in the day. Rumor has it they are touring again.
Ok, if we are walking down memory lane - who remembers Vagabond Rock 'n Roll Lover by Eli from the late 70's? And Telluride? And Lamplighter Dinner Theater in Montgomery? Is Lamplighter still there?
Telluride and Eli I remember.
Who were the other bands around in the late 70's? I can't remember them, but I know I will when I hear the names.
I was only at Auburn in 84/85.
Monica,
You're such a baby! We were there 76-80, or at least Tom was. I was only there 77-78. But what a year it was!!
Cincy - You're my new favorite Hottie! I never get called a baby anymore.
We gals gotta stick together
Jet..
Hate to bring up yesterday's posts...but
I am sorry I missed Alvin's latest rant.
Wish I had been in attendance to witness it.
This girl I dated at Bama used to like to go see some mediocre band called the Cheesebrokers. They played 80's music almost exclusively.
I've always wondered how one became a Cheese Broker...
TarHeelTiger said...Dear Leader - I know all is right with the world when you're on top.
um, I meant when you are the first to post.TarHeel, that made me LOL!
Have we talked about Beano Cook and Ivan Maisel talking about Urban Meyer whining about Auburn's Tiger Prowl?
It was music to my ears that both hosts told Urban that he should keep his thoughts to himself. He looked stupid.
PENS WIN!!!!
despite their best defenseman injured (perhaps severely) by an illegal hit from Ovechkin that should draw an automatic suspension. Of course, the NHL doesn't have kahunas to do it. But they've suspended players before for identical hits.
Monica, Cincy, Luv, AUMom Wow! Lots of Hottie Ladies here tonight. I guess none of y'all were even remotely interested in my hockey commentary.
THT - I'm always interested in everything you have to say.
Faker - Very sweet picture of you and your baby girl.
Oh Mon, that's why you're my favorite
right now we've got Canes and Bruins with 7 minutes to go.
Canes are STOMPING the undisciplined Bruins
Cincy...
Lampliter's been closed for years ... the facility is now a charismatic church.
The Shakespeare Festival pretty much was the end of it.
FSJ ...
The Alvin vs. "The Racist, Neo-Nazi Republicans" was about a 8 or 9 on the Alvin scale.
Appendage showed up tonight with a hat that dang near looked houndstooth. Then I took 'em to Jalapenos for dinner.
My plan to be in bed by sunset has been crushed.
Grumpy Dad about to make an appearance.
PENS WIN
CANES WIN
A Great night of hockey!
THT ...
Please tell me there's some celebratory ice cream and syrup going on. Otherwise, the evening will be an utter failure.
Faker, I was waiting on someone to mention the Cheesebrokers. They played at my wedding reception. They are all UAT guys and I made them play the AU fight song. Good times with cheesy 80's jams.
Late 70's@ AU???......Doug Clark and the Hot Nuts.......Heyyyyyyyyy HEyyyyyyyyy Ba-baaayyyyyy...I wanna know oh-oh-oh, Will you sit on my...........
That's what I'm talkin' 'bout, Hoopie.
Annmal House premiered in 1978 and established all behavior patterns until my graduation in 1980
Jet...glad to see that you and the other Gumptonians and Pvillians weren't washed away.
My brotherthebammer lives on Lake Jordan and says they got off easy with only 5 inches of rain.
G'nite....I'm fishing at daybreak.
Hoopie,
My hubby graduated in 1980 also. But, I must say I don't remember that band
Jet, if you insist, I'll go have a bowl right now. The timing is right, Molly dog is asleep so I won't have to share.
Anyone remember Darvo's burgers? I loved those burgers!
Hope you catch you limit, Hoopie.
CincyT ...
Did you go to HS here? Where/when did you graduate?
Nope, went to Bradshaw in Florence, graduated in '77.
THT ...
I insist.
Bradshaw no longer exists, so sad. Merged with our rival Coffee HS and became Florence City High School a few years ago.
Hoopie was a party dawg. I knew it.
How sad ... that's what happened in Gadsden, which led to consolidation of efforts by FSJ's nefarious friends in the REC.
well, Molly dog woke up, so she got a little bowl of ice cream
THT ...
YOu're a good doggie dad.
Later kids.
nefarious is a good word
dastardly is another good word - I must remember to use that
a pox on bama!!!!
Mobile drunk posting from camping family reunion. Whipped some cousins at ping pong. Fried chicken. Later.
ehyou - drunk ping pong? sounds like a whole lot of fun. congrats on the big win!
should I say good night or good morning, Hotties?
RISE AND SHINE! It's Saturday!!! I like getting up early on Saturday so I can enjoy not having to go to work! Plus it gives me more time to consciously HATE UA-T!
WARRRRRRRRRR EAGLE!!!!!!
THT ...
You, sir, are on fire.
THT,
You go to sleep at 2:16 am and get up at 6:16 am? Do you sleep? I am off to work out and then to do dreaded yard work. Y'all have fun today!
I remember the 4 hour plan ... that's not a part of any plan now.
Monica ...
How about this?
We yearn for the day when the poobahs in Indianapolis terminate their tolerance of the malfeasance in Gadsden and ultimately rise up to eradicate this nefarious cabal, whose nom de guerre is the Red Elephant Club.
Jet - That was not a post. That was art. I worship you.
Good Morning Hotties!
It's a gorgeous day in the Nation's Capital. I've been for about a 15 mile bike ride along the Potomac and I'm on my balcony consuming an omelet. It looks like a good day.
NoVa ...
Must say I'm jealous.
NoVa,
That sounds fabulous. Sure beats the 30 min core workout I just did. I wish workouts came in a pill.
I had a piece of cheese toast. At least the end of The Waterboy was on to enjoy.
Bike trails around here are like expressways. Few road crossings and slowpokes (joggers) in the passing lanes.
My new apartment has a view of the Washington Monument and about 2/3 of the Mall. That was a big factor in choosing it.
Off to check out some used scuba gear. Talk to you later.
NoVa ...
That's pretty cool. OK, it's way cool. Despite my perpetual disappointment with the shenanigans in D.C., the sites still stir my soul.
10:00 tee time for me. it's an old public course that, way back, was the site of the tucson national tourney.
Nova!!! Your new place sounds awesome! I want some pictures of the view.
Nova - Do you have a new email address yet?
NoVa - Are you in Arlington?
All - Is it me, or does it seem like we are in the race for more high profile recruits? I know that doesn't mean much now, but it just seems different this go around.
Thoughts?
THT - When you come around...it seems we are going to have a good series.
And I have now seen the sun for the first time in 6 days. So happy.
Good morning Hotties!!
Scott ...
Hit 'em straight ... unless it's a dogleg.
Heading to a funeral. be back later.
NoVatiger glad to see you got back home safe.
Good morning to all have a great weekend.
Washington is a beautiful city regardless of what goes on in the politcal arena.
Mornin' again, Hotties. Just returned home from a bunch of errands. NoVa sounds like you're having a GREAT morning.
Yes, cincy, I sleep. But since I don't wake up rested, sleep isn't all that useful.
AU1 - this series is over with Gonchar out, thanks to slime mold Ovechkin. Pens weren't even in the playoffs with Gonchar out the first 50+ games of the season.
MrsTHT and I will be in D.C. next week. LOTS of old maps there!
It don't matter if I get a little tired.
I'll sleep when I'm dead.

I feel so distant from the HABOTN nation as of late
hi jhag - are you in Newport News?
The Mariners' Museum is pretty cool, at least for old folks like me.
http://www.mariner.org/
Good morning Hotties. I'm jealous of all you folks that are getting sunshine and can get out and enjoy this Saturday It's raining again in North Alabama. What a week we've had. F2 tornado touched down 1 mile south of me on Wednesday. Fortunately there were no injuries. Trying to catch up on all the latest Auburn news. Anything exciting to report?
